The Wizards are the original collection in the Runiverse. 10,000 in total (minus a few that have since been burned or otherwise lost to ether), and are completely on chain. They make up the "magic" archetype of the Runiverse. Each Wizard has a body and may additionally have one or more of these traits: head, prop, familiar, and a rune. The Wizards are practitioners of magic within the Runiverse and collegiately organize themselves into several political or otherwise factions, typically denoted by the color of their hat. These are detailed in the Wizards (Runiverse) article. Each Wizard has their own 2D walk cycle created for them, which can be used in a number of metaverses or downloaded to be used in your own creations. 3D models are also in development for each Wizard, and will be fully rigged for use in 3D metaverses, games, animations, and more. Ownership of a Wizard token was required for several airdrops such as The Sacred Flame, and will continue being an important requirement for future drops and event.

Forgotten Runiverse Game

While the Forgotten Runiverse Game is still in development, there is confirmation that it will include special perks for Wizard holders. The extent of these perks have yet to be confirmed, but at the very least holders will get exclusive access to use their Wizards in game. This also includes their props and familiars, though those may not be immediately available upon the game's launch.

Blockchain

The Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult contract was created on the 28th of June, 0300h UTC at address 0x521f9c7505005cfa19a8e5786a9c3c9c9f5e6f42. The initial contract cost 0.030 Eth to deploy (at the time, USD 35.89). The contract's line of lore read, "It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." The contract's ERC712 token name is WIZARDS. The first summon of the Forgotten Wizards occurred in the Secret Tower on the 30th of June, 1559h UTC.

Metadata Updates

On August 22, 2022, an update to the collection's metadata was pushed with community approval in order to fix errors in the initial metadata, add Affinity tags to Wizards, and remove any potentially problematic names from the collection. Most notable changes was the renaming of Venus Flytrap into Unicorn Horn and Death Eater into Corpse Eater.
