Walk Cycles

Wizard walk cycles were delivered to the Forgotten Runes community on November 17th, 2021.

Cult members were given yet another airdrop, this time full walk cycles of their Wizards. The Wizards are now able to fully walk around in all directions. These walks were first deployed into the super popular Worldwide Webb 3, meaning if you own a Wizard, you can fully walk around as your Wizard. Other open metas follow soon after including Tollan Worlds, hyaliko, and the Atlantis World. The walk cycles are downloadable from the downloads section of each Wizard in the Book of Lore. They can be used in any 2D metaverse that supports custom sprites.

The creation of these walk cycles involved a significant amount of work. Each of the 10,000 unique wizards received a full turnaround and walk cycle, allowing them to move around in any metaverse that supports custom sprites3. The development process was challenging and often seen as tedious because it required both artistic skill and a willingness to perform repetitive tasks. Artists needed to internalize and digest the essence of each wizard before they could effectively animate them.
