After the introductions from the team, Elf kicks off the show by asking Bearsnake how tall his hat is today.

Bear Gives Away a Warrior

Warrior Giveaway With Token Gator Hat

The team speaks about Bear’s Token Gator hat stacking competition which eventually led to a Warrior for the winning stacker (and a new member to the Cult). Before diving into more questions from the Cult, Elf asks the team if there are any announcements for the day. Bear says everyone needs to be a bit more patient, noting that he won’t say the dreaded word (soon).

Binding the First 5 Comic Issues

Madotsuki mentions the recent release of comic Issue #4. Elf then prompts Bear to speak about a “special issue of the comic.” Bear mentions for newcomers that the first 5 issues of the comic will be bound together and will include new pages with content that Elf has led the charge on to continuing fleshing out the world. Elf notes that the bound copy of issues #1-5 of the Forgotten Runes comic will have around 18 additional pages for additional content. Bearsnake also says that these collected issues will be available in bookstores.

Forgotten Runes TV Show, Runiverse Map, and Loracle V2

Bear says that he had another good call recently with Derek Kolstad, but he won’t "drag everyone through the small details." Elf notes that he's also been writing a lot for the show recently.

He says:

“It’s going to be the best animated TV show…ever.”

Map

Elf also says that he has been working with Frog Eater to make a Runiverse Map in 3D and more “map tools.” He also says that the updated 2D map is in progress with a few community-created locations added.

Loracle V2

Dotta says that he’s been working on a new Loracle V2, which he says will have an increase in functionality once complete. However, he said he thought he would have something to show on Wizard Wednesday, but he says there is still work that needs to be done first.

Elf asks Dotta if he is going to give the Loracle the voice of Scarlett Johansson. Mado says he could send over some voice changing tools. The team speaks about OpenAI’s new voice model for ChatGPT and comparisons with the 2013 film “Her”.

Cult Questions

Elf then jumps into Cult Questions with the first two questions from Community member Sharon. She asks about editing previous lore entries and updating lore from hardware wallets. Dotta says owners are able to edit any Lore, noting the change history is always available. Dotta also says there won’t be any problems archiving and editing lore from a Ledger. Elf says that he’s looking forward to the updated Book of Lore, which Dotta says will be easier to organize and view.

Elf Speak Lore

Following this, Elf goes into a Lore deepdive surrounding the decision to exclude orcs and how to add new species to the world if they aren’t already in the collection. He also speaks about his decision to go with his depiction of Kobolds over the comics’ reptilian depiction. Elf says that he didn’t include orcs because he feels that they belong so much to the Tolkien legendarium. To his decision to on the Kobolds’ appearance in the collection, he says these kinds of “fairy folk” in the Fey evolve through storytelling, rather than Darwinism. Elf says that goblins, pixies, kobolds, fairies, and all other types of “fairy folk” appear differently through history.

He says:

“These are beings of Magic, note Science…and thus you get a great degree of latitude in interpretation. You, as a Wizards who are wielding the art of Magic yourselves, you can write these creatures into your stories as much as you want.”

He says there may be more codified interpretations in larger media expressions, but there will still be differences even then. Elf says that though some of these creatures don’t appear in the collection, the team wanted to throw hints at their existence. He notes the Dwarven Helmets and Elven Cloaks, stating that they never wanted to shut the door on expanding the world with those collections.

Elf Finds a Baby Bird, Tad Gives Community Updates, & the Cult Talks Cults

Dotta then asks Elf about the baby bird that he found, and Elf speaks briefly about finding a baby Pudgy Pidgy

Community Updates

Tad Major then speaks about a couple community events, including:

Study Cults

Next, the team have a brief discussion of Bored Apes new “Cult” phase. Dotta says when he says their announcement he thought, “Wait, are they talking about us?” He says he even asked the team, “What is going on here. Is this us?” Bearsnake says that he did not make a deal with Yuga, adding “for this.”

Entropy jokes that Yuga saw FRWC “rebrand” as “Fucking Rich Wizards Club” and came in swinging. Dotta says that his dad was disappointed when he saw that in Discord.

Unitacs by Adam Hollander's Daughter

Dotta then mentions an Ordinals project from Shadow Hat holder Adam Hollander and his daughter. He says he feels the Ordinals market is in a bit of a lull, saying that he still doesn’t feel like the bull market is here. He says this could be reminiscing of “good old days.”

Magic Machine Ruminates On the State of the Market

Dotta says that he feels like everyone just wants pure speculation in this market—normies got burned by FTX and still need time for that to wash out, and he says people are “super squeezed” from inflation. Elf says he agrees and he thinks the Mega Bull is still on the horizon. Elf says he doesn’t think that memecoins are as nihilistic as some arguments against them would make them seem. He says they are the purest form of Internet culture. Dotta agrees and says permissionless, decentralized platforms allow you to do things others don’t like.

Crypto In the USA

Dotta mentions a post he saw recently around the US and its position on crypto. He says this person states that stablecoins are mostly basically backed by US treasuries, and he says that this effectively creates a dollar staking system. Dotta says the idea here would be to position the US dollar as the reserve currency for crypto, which would then strengthen the dollar rather than diminish its value.

“As an American, I want US dollar dominance, but as a citizen who gets their currency debased, I buy Bitcoin.”

SoloPop AI Filmmaking, DAO Updates, & Giveahoot Talks Runes

Soul Rune Card

Then, SoloPop takes the stage to speak about his recent ventures into AI filmmaking. He shares that he has been invited to a few film festivals with his work. He notes that he recently left his job to pursue these creative endeavors.

DAO Updates

Tad Major joins the stage to give a few updates from the DAO about the most recent proposals for May. He notes there will be a 10 day comment period followed by voting.

Runes Tournament

After that, Giveahoot joins and speaks about the ongoing Runes TCG tournament. He also mentions a recent tweet from Yuga’s Garga about the Triple Triad Final Fantasy mini game that Runes is based on, and Garga’s curiosity to make something similar. Giveahoot says that Wizards have the reputation of doing things first. Elf agrees, and says that it seems crazy, but Forgotten Runes was also the first project to consider integrating “lore” into NFTs.

Cult Content Chronicle

As the show winds down, the team reviews the Cult Content Chronicle, a collection of art from the past week within the Forgotten Runes community aggregated every week by Tania del Rio.
