The Wizards are the original collection in the Runiverse. 10,000 in total (minus a few that have since been burned or otherwise lost to ether), they make up the "magic" archetype of the Runiverse. Each Wizard has a body and may additionally have one or more of these traits: head, prop, familiar, and a rune. The Wizards are practitioners of magic within the Runiverse and collegiately organize themselves into several political or otherwise factions, typically denoted by the color of their hat. These are detailed in the Wizards (Runiverse) article.

The Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult contract was created on the 28th of June, 0300h UTC at address 0x521f9c7505005cfa19a8e5786a9c3c9c9f5e6f42. The initial contract cost 0.030 Eth to deploy (at the time, USD 35.89). The contract's line of lore read, "It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." The contract's ERC712 token name is WIZARDS. The first summon of the Forgotten Wizards occurred in the Secret Tower on the 30th of June, 1559h UTC.
