The Wizards are all in high spirits after a night of !magic in LA. Wizards On the Roof Much of the conversation concerns the LA event. As Dotta wasn't in attendance, Elf asks how his night went. He replies that it was great, and that he was in bed by the time Bear was tweeting that people were about to start showing up to the party. Elf makes a nod to a midnight Spaces that he started under the influence of the night, and says he's glad it wasn't recorded, as he doesn't remember exactly what was said but is glad he didn't nuke the project. He asks the Wizards in the Bear Cave if anyone has any anecdotes they would like to share from the night before and tells of Eagletorium's live performance of the Hall of Cats Theme (feat. the infamous line performed by Bearsnake himself) The Drink Menu Drink Menu From the Forgotten Runes Party in LA Tania shares an anecdote about the drink menu, as a particular cocktail was named "Go Peepee", which was comedic to hear people order as well as receive from the bartender throughout the night. On this topic, Elf is hesitant to share another anecdote, but does anyway. An hour prior to the start of the event, the Hall of Cats drink, "Go Peepee" was named, "I Hate It Here". Elf didn't think that was a good vibe, and wanted to have it changed. Elf applauds Bearsnake's cool at having all of the menus reprinted an hour before the start of the party. Dotta says that Elf might get emotional sometimes, but he's rarely wrong. Elf points to the anecdote Tania shared about the name and says he thinks he made the right call. Feckless' New Clothes Forgotten Runes Varsity Jacket In other shenanigans, Elf tells about Feckless procuring the display prototype Forgotten Runes varsity jacket that only says "Name" where a name would typically be. Elf says Feckless is still wearing the jacket and no one has told him to give it back, so he thinks it's his now. Closing Thoughts On the Party Elf also says the Cult has also disproven a pervasive stereotype about people who like video games and are interested in D&D, noting that he didn't "see the Simpson's Comic Book Guy" anywhere. On the topic of people who he got to see at the event, Elf says Nyan Cat creator, PRGuitarman turned up for the party. Elf says overall, his takeaway from the night was that the state of the Forgotten Runes community is healthy, strong, and robust. He goes on to say that it was a real show of force in the midst of the bear market, banks crashing, and a monsoon in Los Angeles. Jitcy commends LaCh, Nalgene, and Bear for creating an environment where everyone was able to feel comfortable having fun and being themselves. Dotta expresses his own FOMO from the night before recounting a Tweet from earlier in the day in which he had said that getting a Wizard feels less like buying an NFT and more like joining a group of friends. Podcast With DeeZe & Redbeard Elf then speak briefly about visiting a mansion formerly occupied by Elvis to record a podcast with Bear, Jitcy, DeeZe and Redbeard, but the recording likely won't be out until June. He says he hopes a moment makes the video cut in which Bear and Deeze are both under blanket on a big couch and start giggling at the mention of Doodles founder, "Poopie". The Orange Portal & Bullock's Blood and Guts Dotta then turns to talks about two Wizard burns that happened this week. ...And Never Came Back Gary Enters the Orange Portal The first is the Teleburn to BTC by 0xGrug of Enchanter Gary of Avalon, who "stepped through the orange portal and never came back." Dotta speaks to questions this raises about both token and holder. Rocktoshi joins the Teleburn discussion and suggests a whole Spaces on the technical aspects behind Teleburning. He praises Dotta for helping bridge BTC and ETH communities and interacting with both in interesting and intelligent ways. Ashes to Ashes, Guts to Guts The second burn of the week that Dotta speaks about is of Battle Mage Bullock's Conjurer Axis of Atlantis. Battle Mage Bullock tried for nearly a year to obtain the Wizard, and finally secured it for 3.6 ETH. However, upon burning, it was reduced to a Pile of Blood and Guts. "That hurts," says Elf. He also says he has never felt more compelled to create a resurrection mechanism than since the Goblin King himself was burned. 3D Souls & Yes, Forgotten Runes Elf uses this to segue into a discussion about the 3D Souls models, of which he says the Blood and Guts are included. He also says the Souls heads are now 100% complete and the process is moving along faster than the Wizards. Dotta then speaks about the announcement for 3D models as a way to reintroduce these Forgotten Runes collections to collectors who prefer 3D assets to pixel art. Dotta also brings up the "Forgotten Runes" Twitter chain that Bearsnake started and how organic the wave seemed. Elf mentions "Forgotten Runes" was trending on Twitter and reiterates this is just another show of strength for the community. Cult Questions Wen Next Forgotten Runes Meetup? The floor opens up for Cult questions, of which Legatus has the first: Wen next Forgotten Runes meetup. Unfortunately the answer is inconclusive. "Maybe NFT NYC, but we're not making any promises," is heard from somewhere in the Bear Cave. Do 3D Kobolds Dream of Yellow Horns? Kobold Crochet Amigurumi by Tania Del Rio Elf is asked if the 3D models of Kobolds have ears or horns, to which he says the 3D Kobolds are modeled off Tania del Rio's crochet depiction. He ruminates on an option for switching ears for horns at a later time. Storm & Stress Elf confirms the Durm and Strang trait is a reference to the Sturm und Drang literary movement. He is also asked if the Faustian head is an ally or enemy, to which he replies: "It's an association." Battle For Goblin Town After the conclusion of cult questions, Dotta talks about the progression of Battle for Goblin Town. He says he will be bringing in some more help to get it over the line faster, and speaks about Goblin Crate airdrop structure that he and Niski have been working on this week. CheddaaBob Stickers & the Hall of Cats CheddaaBob talks about Hall of Cats stickers that he made for the event, and Elf says he feels like he is in a one-man war against the goings-on of the Hall. Dotta replies that he has it muted, which is met with laughter. No one present in the Bear Cave wants to talk about it. New Gallery Page Dotta speaks about Cosmo, Niski, and the team working on a new Gallery page to show off the collections on the official website. Elf says it is a fundamental component of the website that has been missing and expresses excitement for the new feature. Dotta Talks Bitcoin & Balaji The Bit Signal Dotta asks if anyone would like to discuss to the current events surrounding Bitcoin. Elf asks "Is BTC going to $1M in 90 days." Dotta thinks this is more of a way for Balaji to bring attention to himself to talk more about the hyperinflation narrative. Dotta recommends the book "The Sovereign Individual" and speaks to directional correctness of Balaji's "No handshakes" before the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this hypothesis, Dotta says the catalyst for a large move to BTC is that it would be the only "hard money" left. He notes the possibility of Bitcoin will finally have its moment as it was intended in its creation, post-2008 financial crisis. Dotta closes these thoughts by saying in the long term, he believes ETH will out-perform BTC, but that if BTC fulfills its purpose, it will be in a moment like this. As it stands, he believes ETH will be under more attack than BTC because of staking services and the like. Dotta says that BTC wouldn't stand for restrictions that pragmatic ETH maxis may go along with. Long term, Dotta believes ETH will surpass BTC on a time horizon in years. But asks everyone to think: How will you position yourself for times of serious inflation? During this discussion, Dotta's audio is intermittently lost with regular frequency. Elf claims Illuminatus heads are censoring him. He also jokes that it is "clear" that this is a attempt to Teleburn all Wizards to BTC. Dotta says he could if he had to. Madotsuki brings up the Wells notice that Coinbase received from SEC and Dotta says that it, "seems quite bad," while continuing to experience audio interference. Closing Announcement From BlackSand As Elf suggests to keep the vibes high, Legatus rounds out the meeting by stepping up to announce that tadmajor won this week's BlackSand pony race. Cosmic Birds gives the introduction this week and Elf also shouts out Nalgene, Tania, Feckless, Cheddaa Bob, and Jitcy, who are all gathered with him at the Bear Cave. The Wizards are all in high spirits after a night of !magic in LA.
Wizards On the Roof
Much of the conversation concerns the LA event.
He asks the Wizards in the Bear Cave if anyone has any anecdotes they would like to share from the night before and tells of Eagletorium's live performance of the Hall of Cats Theme (feat. the infamous line performed by Bearsnake himself)
The Drink Menu
Tania shares an anecdote about the drink menu, as a particular cocktail was named "Go Peepee", which was comedic to hear people order as well as receive from the bartender throughout the night.
Feckless' New Clothes
In other shenanigans, Elf tells about Feckless procuring the display prototype Forgotten Runes varsity jacket that only says "Name" where a name would typically be. Elf says Feckless is still wearing the jacket and no one has told him to give it back, so he thinks it's his now.
Closing Thoughts On the Party
Elf also says the Cult has also disproven a pervasive stereotype about people who like video games and are interested in D&D, noting that he didn't "see the Simpson's Comic Book Guy" anywhere.
Podcast With DeeZe & Redbeard
Elf then speak briefly about visiting a mansion formerly occupied by Elvis to record a podcast with Bear, Jitcy, DeeZe and Redbeard, but the recording likely won't be out until June. He says he hopes a moment makes the video cut in which Bear and Deeze are both under blanket on a big couch and start giggling at the mention of Doodles founder, "Poopie".
The Orange Portal & Bullock's Blood and Guts
Dotta then turns to talks about two Wizard burns that happened this week.
...And Never Came Back
The first is the Teleburn to BTC by 0xGrug of Enchanter Gary of Avalon, who "stepped through the orange portal and never came back." Dotta speaks to questions this raises about both token and holder. Rocktoshi joins the Teleburn discussion and suggests a whole Spaces on the technical aspects behind Teleburning. He praises Dotta for helping bridge BTC and ETH communities and interacting with both in interesting and intelligent ways.
Ashes to Ashes, Guts to Guts
The second burn of the week that Dotta speaks about is of Battle Mage Bullock's Conjurer Axis of Atlantis.
3D Souls & Yes, Forgotten Runes
Elf uses this to segue into a discussion about the 3D Souls models, of which he says the Blood and Guts are included.
Cult Questions
Wen Next Forgotten Runes Meetup?
The floor opens up for Cult questions, of which Legatus has the first: Wen next Forgotten Runes meetup. Unfortunately the answer is inconclusive. "Maybe NFT NYC, but we're not making any promises," is heard from somewhere in the Bear Cave.
Do 3D Kobolds Dream of Yellow Horns?
Elf is asked if the 3D models of Kobolds have ears or horns, to which he says the 3D Kobolds are modeled off Tania del Rio's crochet depiction. He ruminates on an option for switching ears for horns at a later time.
Storm & Stress
Elf confirms the Durm and Strang trait is a reference to the Sturm und Drang literary movement. He is also asked if the Faustian head is an ally or enemy, to which he replies: "It's an association."
Battle For Goblin Town
After the conclusion of cult questions, Dotta talks about the progression of Battle for Goblin Town. He says he will be bringing in some more help to get it over the line faster, and speaks about Goblin Crate airdrop structure that he and Niski have been working on this week.
CheddaaBob Stickers & the Hall of Cats
CheddaaBob talks about Hall of Cats stickers that he made for the event, and Elf says he feels like he is in a one-man war against the goings-on of the Hall. Dotta replies that he has it muted, which is met with laughter. No one present in the Bear Cave wants to talk about it.
New Gallery Page
Dotta speaks about Cosmo, Niski, and the team working on a new Gallery page to show off the collections on the official website. Elf says it is a fundamental component of the website that has been missing and expresses excitement for the new feature.
Dotta Talks Bitcoin & Balaji
Dotta asks if anyone would like to discuss to the current events surrounding Bitcoin. Elf asks "Is BTC going to $1M in 90 days."
Dotta thinks this is more of a way for Balaji to bring attention to himself to talk more about the hyperinflation narrative.
Closing Announcement From BlackSand
As Elf suggests to keep the vibes high, Legatus rounds out the meeting by stepping up to announce that tadmajor won this week's BlackSand pony race.
