The Burning of the 13 Warriors was an event held on July 27th, 2022 on Discord in the 💫sales channel (src) where community members sent 13 Warriors to the burn address (first tx)
This event is not to be confused with The Great Burning (2021) in which Wizards were burned using The Sacred Flame. These were manually sent to the Ethereum burn address and thus are forever unrecoverable.
The event was initiated by Retired Yield Farmer who said:
"I will never forgive the warriors for what they did to our wizard floor. Every warrior I own is going straight into the sacred fire." src
Some would argue that SeeMikeDraw was the one who seeded that thought:
The first Warrior burned was Henry Dispatcher of the Docks (1009) src followed by Titan Swashbuckler of the Ruins (11648).
Goodbye, Titan Swashbuckler of the Ruins. You were with us far too long
The first two burnings were followed by an additional 11 burnings where Warriors were sent either to the burn address or the contract itself (resulting in those Warriors being irrevocably trapped).
The Kobold Horde, always enamored by pyrotechnics, mob mentality, and an at times a confused sense of justice utilized the confusion to take care of one of their most ruthless criminals, Spike Cleaver of Kobolds (13395). To shouts of "No one makes a Kobold bleed it's own blood!" Ghost Eater Kobold of the Technochrome (55) (aka Tadmajor) quickly erected a pyre and spent Spike to the flames of the burn address trapping him so not even his soul could cause future harm to the Horde.
