Nightmare run
The Forgotten Runes Nightmare Run was a 3D interactive live experience held Halloween 2023 in part to celebrate the reveal of 3D expansion for the Souls collection. It started at 1PM PST on Oct. 31st 2023 and ran for about an hour before all winners made it to the finish line.
Everyone was invited to join in for a chance to win special pumpkin trophies, tracked on chain via the Chamber of Glory collection. However, only Wizards were able to equip their 3D Wizards as skins to participate in the event. 3D Souls were also planned to be playable for the event, but unfortunately were just barely unable to make it in due to swift development timelines despite being completed by the time the event went live. The event was developed by Improbable and seamlessly allowed for hundreds of players to participate in navigating a series of mazes and obstacles in a race to the Nightmare Imp's front door in order to knock for prizes. Cult artwork and easter eggs were scattered around the map, showcasing community contributions to all participants in a non-obtrusive manner. Magic Machine founders narrated the event live and acted as moderators who could fly around the map and warp players to the next destination.
Only the first 3 to make it to the end of the map were awarded with prizes from the [[Chamber of Glory]]:

Once the first 3 winners made it to the end, all other participants were warped to the final zone of the challenge to celebrate as the Nightmare Imp (voiced by Sharkchild) revealed himself.
