The Quantum Shadow
In the Runiverse
Perhaps the most famous unsolved mystery in all of the Runiverse, a dark shadowy area that is unimaginably large and perceived to be boundless and growing. The Quantum Shadow's origin and true nature are unknown. Parts of it manifest as a vapourus black mist, while some parts consist of a thick, viscous ooze. Everyone in the Runiverse has a different opinion of this anomaly, but most agree that it's best avoided. Journeying into the Quantum Shadow is possible, but rarely is one brave, or foolish enough to do so. Some Wizards are drawn to its cryptic allure, and Black Goats are often seen on the edges of this dark mass, conducting esoteric rituals. The Quantum Shadow is often used by the powerful to manipulate the fears and anxieties of the people of the Runiverse.
Theories
Many Wizards agree that the nature of existence within the Quantum Shadow is different than outside. This often results in rumored transformations to beings that enter - these might be physical, mental, or spiritual, and no two transformations are alike.
Some Wizards also theorize that the Quantum Shadow is somehow linked to the existence of magic in the Runiverse.
