Wizard Wednesday Episode 71 - January 18th 2023

=

Elf: [00:00:00] It is Wednesday. We're Wizard and today is a magical day. We like to call Wizard Wednesday, channeling in with quantum style through the quantum downs. This is elf. And Doda and Mr.

Bearsnake: Bear

Elf: Meow. Hi. It's, uh, it's a big show today. Um, we're gonna talk hug hat lore. We've got a ton of cult questions today. We've got up updates on the Black Sands pony racing.

Uh, I think we've got some friends from the Hall of Cats joining us. We've got other friends joining us and we have cult content, but right at the top. And go ahead, Dora.

Dotta: Uh, at the very end, my, my kids agreed to, uh, sing Rainbow Connection with me and I'll play it on guitar. [00:01:00] So we'll see. We'll see if they follow through.

But you can look forward if you stayed at the very

Elf: end of the show, you might get a do special. Yeah, you gotta stay to the end. Uh, we started, we introed with Kermit and we're gonna outro with dos, so stay tuned for that.

Bearsnake: Yeah, stay tuned. You don't wanna make little kids cry, do you?

Elf: Um, but yeah, speaking of Rainbow Connection, I, uh, I just wanna start right off with the Hugh Hat lore.

I have had this written for about four weeks. It always gets put off, and damn it, it's not getting put off any longer. We are gonna start right off the top with it. Um, so the hu Hats, I think everybody knows what the hu hats are. Uh, every, you know, there's, there's, there's the seven hat colors, um, of the, uh, geopolitical factions in the universe.

Um, but they are all solid hat colors. And then we have a very, uh, a very rare and limited group of hue hats, uh, which is the hat of [00:02:00] many colors. Um, in fact, they have all the colors except white, uh, because they are opposed to the reductionism of the white hats. Um, where the white hats take all of the colors and reduce them to a singular expression of holy purity.

The hue hats embrace every color at once. Um, So this is not to be confused with, uh, the chaos of maybe the Purple Hats where disorder is embraced. As a matter of principle, this is actually the embrace of all orders. This is the ability to shift, to change, to see all perspectives at once. Um, I was talking to Zalo Soul about these, the hu hats and, uh, he sort of described them as emissaries between factions, which I think makes a lot of sense.

Um, the Hu Hats are able to bridge all cultures I ideologies and peoples, [00:03:00] um, this bridging characteristic is often expressed very literally. Uh, the most famous example in the universe being Hugh Master Pass, which was probably built by some ancient architect who followed this philosophy. Um, There are probably many other rainbow bridges in the universe that have yet to be discovered.

Uh, this archetype of the Rainbow Bridge is Marriott across the mystical landscape. Uh, we know of the Rost bridge that, uh, connected earth to Asgard. Um, the Greco Roman Messenger, Iris zipped across the globe on such a bridge. Uh, and the book of Genesis describes, uh, the rainbow as a covenant between God and man.

Um, but per, perhaps the best way to describe this rainbow connection is that someday we'll all find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers. And me. And with that, [00:04:00] let's jump into cult questions. Um, so we've, yeah, there's a lot of questions today. Um, I'm happy to get to all of them. Uh, so let's start right off with a night Al Birdman, who, who has uh, two questions.

Um, one of them is 3D models. Uh, when can we finally take them into unity, put and put a VR booty tracking, uh, suit so that we can do the MP shake? Um, okay. There's actually an answer to this. Uh, we are certainly building the models, uh, for vr. They should be, um, platform agnostic. We're building them in such a way so that we get universal use out of them.

Uh, and I don't know about VR tracking, however, I am certain that they will come with an empty shake animation. Uh, so that's what I can say to that. Um, night Al has a second question, which I think Donor bear, you guys could handle this one. Uh, he's [00:05:00] basically asking about the land drop, uh, for the reverse game.

Dotta: Uh, yeah, the land drop is, uh, still un uh, un There's no date for it yet, so we don't know.

Elf: That's the short answer. Okay. Short answer, no date yet. Um, but Night Al made a really great video that basically asked that question. Um, I love night AL'S videos. Uh, so like, I gotta acknowledge that.

Dotta: Um, well,

Bearsnake: can we, can we pin that at the top?

I haven't seen that.

Elf: It's in Discord. I don't. It's the secret tower night owl

Bearsnake: posted in the secret tower. Alright. Somehow I still need to figure out how to, uh, pin tweets here. I don't know

Elf: what I'm doing. Um, it's not straightforward. Okay, bear, I, you might have an answer to this. Uh, SPZ is asking, uh, any news on the animated series.

Bearsnake: Ah, yes. Um, okay. So no. First of all, I'm feeling very, very, very good about it. Um, [00:06:00] lots of, lots of conversations that, uh, would be boring to most, but exciting to me something that's actually going on that, that I can talk a little bit about. I don't think I've mentioned the writer strike. Have I on on was?

No, I don't think so. Okay, cool. So, okay, I'll try to do this quickly cuz I know we have a lot. Um, there's something called the Writer's Guild of America, the wga, as the industry insiders call it. Um, and this guild is what sort of protects rates. For writers so that they can't get screwed and like pinned against each other.

There's like standards, right? For like how much you get paid for a script and credits and all this stuff. And so every five or six years, the WGA goes and negotiates new better rates for their writers. Um, and that throws a whole entire massive wrench into like the creation of [00:07:00] content television and film and short form, even if it falls under the guild.

And so there is a, uh, funny enough, um, the head of the WGA was actually at my house last night. Um, but I didn't ask her about what was going on. But I do know that there is a, um, renegotiation on the very near horizon in the next couple months. Um, and what this means is that everybody gets really worried because if a strike happens, um, no one can, no writer can work.

And um, and so that basically grinds everything to a halt. Now, you know, with every door closing, another door opens. Um, you know, we, uh, gosh, um, I guess I can say it like we, we can do this show with Derek Non-Union, um, which allows us to be, uh, uh, not only [00:08:00] is like the package and the show and the IP and the cult very attractive to streamers, but we become exponentially attractive to streamers.

Um, when we are one of the few shows that can actually go into production, even if the strike happens. So I say that as like a huge feather in our cap. Um, and yeah, it, it, I think it's pretty exciting.

Elf: It basically sounded like Bear Snake was delivering bad news, but what he's actually saying is this maybe helps us.

Right?

Bearsnake: Yeah. Sorry, I'm sounding so serious and like flat, but essentially it's a massive leg up. Yeah. Um, and, and, and it's like, so basically like we just got like a huge shot in the butt of adrenaline, uh, running into sort of this next phase. So I can't give any more details than that, but that was, that's like a, it's, I can't, I can't, uh, underline enough that that's a really big deal.

Elf: Yeah. Thi this is why it's [00:09:00] good to have a bear SNCC on your team because only such a person would be privy to such insider information and know how to leverage it. So, Uh, the short answer is like, yeah, the show is definitely on the on track. Um, I just wanna add something myself. I saw somebody tweet the tweet just today.

Um, remember all those 30 N F T projects that were happen, supposed to have Netflix shows? What happened to that? Okay. A tweet like that is a clear illustration of someone who has no idea how show business works. There is no way to say, I want a show, and then you have it on air one year later. It just doesn't happen.

Um, it's

Bearsnake: literally impossible.

Elf: Literally.

Bearsnake: Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. I mean, gimme that person's phone number. I'm happy to sit down and talk with them three hours and explain why that's a ridiculous statement. It's the same thing, honestly, as like, I thought we were supposed to have like amazing web three games.

It's like, okay, well, Do you understand how anything works in the world [00:10:00] ever? Because you should go home and shut up. I'm not agitated. Yeah, no,

Elf: no, no. It's fine. It's just like, you know, just, it's okay. They don't know how it works. But, but yeah, I mean, I would, I would say like out of those 30 NFT projects that were pat, uh, promising a show, um, I would put us on par or ahead of all of them.

So that's my take. Yeah. Oh,

Bearsnake: and also I'm like hearing about, like, I get, I get like, I get whispers of like every time, like another N F T project is like trying to get a TV show made. I get phone calls from like, uh, agents and lawyers that from my, you know, cuz they're the, I'm like the one crazy person that they know that like went into web three.

Um, and I will say that like, all I'm hearing even from like top, top, top projects is that like they're just trying to find writers to like work with, to develop a show. And so it just makes me even more excited about like where we are.

Elf: Yep. Um, okay, let's move to the next one. This is kind of related. Um, Matto is asking about comic issue [00:11:00] number one, which barett, you've also made a lot of progress on that as well.

I don't know how much you wanna reveal, but, uh, what is this you comic issue? Comic issue number one. Comic issue number

Bearsnake: one. Oh yeah. So, um, we actually, we actually have a deal in place that we could sign today for global distribution of the comic book, uh, of the whole series. It even entails like, you know, um, you know, when you have 10 comics, you can actually, like, once you're like four or five in, you can bind them into graphic novels.

Um, and then get them into like Barnes and Noble and Walmart and all these box stores. Um, and so we actually have a deal on the table that like, uh, we could sign today. I'm waiting for a couple other options to see if they can better it. Um, but yeah, like we we're in a really good place. It's very, very exciting.

Well, I, I've been very, very busy bear in January. Yes.

Elf: It's unbelievable. He's, oh, I wanna say one other thing about the [00:12:00] show. I, I don't even know if I'm supposed to say this, but I'm just gonna say it. Um, and you guys can find me later. Oh no. We actually did have a deal that we could have signed on the show like last summer.

Um, and we turned it down cuz it wasn't what we wanted, but it's true. It's true. But we, we straight up did have a full deal, like on the table waiting to be signed and we just didn't take it. So wasn't

Bearsnake: good enough. Come back. Yeah,

Elf: that's not good enough. It's not good enough. Bye. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So anyway, so, but yeah.

Um, show and comic, they're definitely like, Let, let's just put it this way. They are working at the speed that that industry, uh, works at, you know, it's not, uh, it's not crypto, it's, uh, it's the entertainment industry and we're, we're well on the rails there. Um, okay, uh, let's see. Audio box is asking, um, oh, questions about staking.

Okay, so J Maner and audio box, they're basically, uh, audio box says, uh, what tokens will staking [00:13:00] be available for, I know it's for the Wizards, but any others. Um, and then J Maner just says you wants to hear anything more about staking. And, um, w it seems like it would mark a change of tone at, at some level for the project.

How do we keep the lo knot floor ethos? Um, and was this the dec decision to do this based on any sort of market factors? So much there. So,

Dotta: um, okay, so first off, staking the, we are calling it questing. That's, uh, you know, last time we brought it up we hadn't quite like, finalized the term and that's what we're gonna use.

It's questing. Um, and the,

Elf: um,

Dotta: it will just be wizards for the foreseeable future. Um, you know, we can always, and when I say wizards, I mean wizards and souls. I make that mistake a lot. Yep.

Elf: Um,

Dotta: We will share more details on questing as it comes, [00:14:00] but, um, the short version will be that there will be a place on the website where you come and you can send your wizards on quests.

Um, so an important part of the like, structure of anything that we do is, um, the lore, the, the story is like paramount. We won't do anything if we can't find a story that fits that like fits within the world and fits within the lore. Um, and so this idea of like your wizard going on quests fits squarely within the lore and in fact, it's a lore building opportunity.

So, um, yeah, I don't think that it changes the financialization of the project, for example, it's not a situation where you, you know, you stake and you get dollar sign F R W C token, gosh, kill me now we're not doing that. Um, there will be rewards for safety. I tried. I

Bearsnake: tried. Yeah, I tried to make it happen.

It didn't work so,

Dotta: But they will be. Uh, but they will be within, um, like everything that we do is gonna be a part [00:15:00] of the way that we do it. And so, um,

Elf: yeah. Yeah. It's, if I, if I could add on it, there is a heavy lure component to this. In fact, it's, I would say there's even like a character building component.

This is more Lauren character than anything else. It's, yeah, that's an important point. Yep. Yep. Um, and, uh, it'll, well, yeah, I don't wanna reveal too many details either. Um, one thing I see is Delos and Spz asking one question. Is it non-custodial staking? I think it is, right? Yes. Yep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep.

Exactly. Cool. But yeah, we'll, we'll talk more about staking later. Um, but I, yeah, I mean, to answer your question, gerrymander, I think it is a big shift, but I think it. Is, is aligned with everything that we've been doing all along and will only strengthen the storytelling in

Dotta: the law. That's an important point that you mentioned, which is like, it's still around character building, which is a key part of this project, and it's like character building in a new dimension.

Yeah. And [00:16:00] it's a new dimension that's like, um, well, more passive than like writing in the book of lore, which you'll still be able to do.

Elf: Yep. Yep. Um, okay. Speaking of lore, uh, Virgil, the sorcerer has a really fun question and I've got kind of a lengthy answer to this. I won't take too long. Um, he says, uh, I wanna know a little on the lore of the Tin Gu.

Um, a lot has been said about the different hats, time to start branching out. Uh, I agree we should. I am gonna start branching out. I wanna talk about other heads, other places, other pieces in the universe. Um, but, but. Let me, this, this should not prevent you from writing and creating and, and let me just dive into a little bit why, um, here's my process for writing 90% of the lore on everything in Forgotten Ruins.

I just go to Google search or mainstream Wikipedia, and I look at all that's been written or created on this topic. I look at classic [00:17:00] mythologies. I look at artworks, literature, even real world history. So when I'm creating for forgotten ruins, it's, it's actually just a matter of research and less a matter of creating from scratch.

Um, it's, it's just like I'm just trying to compile everything from the archetype that I can find. Um, and the really important thing to keep in mind when you're doing this is that with these archetypes, there is no canon for any of them. So, If there is any canon at all, it's, it's at the very core, which, which is a human psychological impulse expressing itself.

So it's good if you can distill what that core impulse is. Um, like, like what does it say about Japanese culture that they needed this tengu, this, this red long nosed MP that is sometimes depicted as a crow. What does that say? Um, and, and, and can we see this expression, uh, can we see expressions of this impulse in other cultures?

And not only across [00:18:00] cultures, but also across time? Because ultimately we're not talking about things that are old. We're talking about things that are timeless. So, You know the the Merlin TV series in 2008 and then the one in 1998, and then Merlin's mention in Harry Potter. All of these are just as important to the Merlin archetype as the Merlin in 15th century texts.

This is what Ora Boros is telling us that space and time are relevant to the archetype. This, this torch of the ancients has been passed to you, and now you can pick and choose all the elements from across space and time. You can choose what you like, what speaks to you, and you can discard the rest. And now you've got your own personal expression of this meta symbol.

So to answer your question, yes, I will certainly give more and more on all these things that you ask about. I love doing it, but don't let that prevent you from creating or writing, because you can use the same research [00:19:00] mess methods that I do. You already know what a tgu is because that same impulse that led Japanese culture to the house of the Tgu is within you.

Because you're human. We all are. And these are the denizens of our dreams. So now speaking of Deni Denizens of our dreams, let's touch on a more malevolent house in the universe. And that's the House of Cats. We got a lot.

Um, okay, so I'm gonna just read off all the House of Cats questions. Uh, Emma says, uh, how do you feel about all this cat business that's been popping up all over the place? Um, well let me, let me just read the others. Uh, and then Bill Gaines is asking, uh, how do you feel about the clear in inequalities between the Arista Cats and the Proletariats in the Hall of class Cats?

That's a good one. Um, and then, uh, Cheba is asking sort of a tangential question, which is, [00:20:00] uh, when are the funeral services for your pony? Um, so yeah, I mean, do we have an emissary from the House of Cats yet who wants to come up and speak to any of these?

Bearsnake: While we're waiting, I just want to say, so proud to sit within the Hall of Cats.

Uh, I am, I am ecstatic at the momentum. The felines have created unstoppable. I also want to commend the incredible emojis that have been built. I can't, I, I just, now I just wanna redo all of all of all of our emojis across the board. This has set the bar cat, set the bar, meow.

Dotta: Yeah, it's been really fun to see the, uh, the, the set of emojis that has come out of the, the, the contest.

And I think that contest ends today. Uh, very curious to see who, how, how that, how that plays out. Um, also, you know, there was a big internal discussion at Magic [00:21:00] Machine. Should the Hall of Chat channel, uh, be in the Guilds channel with all the rest of the guilds? Or should it be put up, uh, between sales and burn chat?

Uh, as the only guild in the cult chat section on Discord. And, you know, I think at the end of the day, we decided to give the cats what they wanted. Cats require special treatment. Cats think they need an exception. So we gave the cats their exception.

Bearsnake: Hey, El, let Sammy on stage so she can

Elf: hit sit everybody.

Sammy, Sammy, put it in a request. I, I don't know if you know how to do that. I, I can't find, she

Dotta: said, she said she's putting in a request, but I don't even see you in the

Elf: audience. Sammy. Yeah, Sammy, you're like somewhere else. Come on, Sammy.

Bearsnake: Oh, wait a minute. Wait, hold on. I, I got it. I got it. I got it.

Elf: There's the Queen of Cats right there.

Meow. Hey, Sammy. Hi guys. I was requesting, sorry we didn't see. Hey, everyone. [00:22:00] So what, what, kidding what? Do you have any news from the Hall of Cats? Yeah, we do have a little news. Um, so our emoji contest is coming to an end. I'm glad that Doda is super up to date on everything that's going on, and thanks for the exception of letting us stay.

Um, mm-hmm. Our, our contest is ending tonight. We're trying to let it go as long as we can. So midnight p s t, you can still submit, um, all the way up until then, and then we will announce the winner whenever we feel like. Amazing. We actually be giving out, uh, the tokens, uh, for, for Oh Bear. We wanted to con uh, to say thank you so much because Bear actually donated one of his warriors.

For first place prize. Oh,

Bearsnake: yes, yes, I did. I forgot about that. And then we're out. I guess you can have it. And we're also a true cat would take it back. A true cat would take that offer back, but I'm not going to, I

Elf: wouldn't be [00:23:00] surprised if you did, but on all sincerity, please don't. But anyways, we're um, also going to give out, uh, treat boxes for fourth and fifth place because we've had so many good submissions.

You guys, like, they've been incredible exceeded expectations. I think Jitsu was saying today in the channel that there's 70 emojis or something crazy. Um, wow. It's been awesome. And they're all really violent and funny. So Good job guys. Speaking of funny and violent, Uh, I'm just gonna straight up ask who the hell stabbed my pony?

I wanna know right now.

Bearsnake: Listen, there's, there's no cat that's gonna pass up to that. Cats don't like, mess up the things that

Elf: they do. Yeah. Also we would, yeah, we'd never tell you. Did you see, um, the, the new, uh, artwork that cosmic put out of? Yeah, it's intense. Yeah. Actually it is stabbing you. Alf intense is definitely a word.

[00:24:00] Um, I would choose another word though. You know, the house path is getting a little outta control. I, I gotta say it's, it's, I'm gonna say it's probably worse than the cucu apocalypse. It's, and that's saying a lot.

Dotta: It's kinda like when, like, my cats bring me a dead bird in the

Elf: morning.

Yeah. Yeah. We take that as a really high compliment. So thank you very much. That's all we got. All right, thanks. Okay, bear, are you trying to play music or something?

Oh, you playing thunder

Playing music, like how they do in the Academy Awards to get me off

Bearsnake: on stage? No, I was playing the

Elf: Thundercats theme. Thundercats [00:25:00] are the only good cats. Okay. And with that we'll move off of the Cat Hall of Cats. Um, oh, let me, let me answer Bill Gaines's question. Uh, bill Gaines, uh, workers of the World unite. That's how I feel. Um, okay. Uh, we've got a few Goblin Town questions, um, from Slee and Tanya Del Rio.

Uh, sh Lee says Any more specifics on Goblin Town, mint Launch, airdrop, et cetera. And then Tanya is asking, uh, how do you win Goblin Town? Or do you just play forever? So,

Dotta: uh, the specifics on Goblin Town, um, I think that we will, I think we'll probably do it mint. We haven't figured it out quite yet. Um, so the way the current plan is that there will be crates that you'll receive as being a holder of the F R W C tokens.

Um, you know, we've talked about this before, but just in case anybody's first time as a holder of the tokens, there will be different tiers, which we will publish, [00:26:00] um, that you can get, um, within those crates. The things that are NFTs in the games would be an unplaced settlement, an unplaced road, a goblin soldier, or many goblin soldiers, a goblin boss or many goblin bosses.

And then cards and cards have certain effects on the game, like extra damage, healing power, uh, things like that. So though this would be the different classes, entities within the game. If you're a holder, you'll get an airdrop. Um, we also have people who knocked a trick or treat. We will get an airdrop and then a few partner communities.

Um, you know, we are really, even though it sounds like a lot, we're being somewhat careful to make sure that kind of, there's not like a ridiculous amount of, um, tokens on the market. At the same time. It's a game. Anybody can come and play the game and sort of like compete. And most people will start on se, relatively equal footing.

Um, and I, my, my current favorite mechanism for a drop right now would be something that's sort of like time-bound. Um, that there's like a mint where you can come for an hour or for 10 minutes and just sort of like whoever wants to, to buy in and [00:27:00] play for those 10 minutes, uh, can buy. And then after that it's sort of fixed.

If you want to play, you go and you get things on secondary. Kind of the fundamental component that you need to play is a settlement. That's the only thing that you need because what you'll do is you'll take that settlement and you'll find a place on the board that is empty. And once you place your settlement, then you'll start to accumulate resources over time.

And then you can use those resources to kind of level up by other, uh, roads, extend at your roads, and then place other settlements, um, which expands your territory until you get to the phase where maybe you need to have some soldiers to help you defend your territory. Um, so yeah, the question being, uh, how do you win?

Well, you, you win by being the biggest and the best and by sort of like conquering your enemies and taking over more territory. And, um, and by having sort of a market on all of the resources. So there's not necessarily like an end game where it's like, oh, if you win, you win this trophy, though there will be, um, there will be like a leaderboard.

Um, there's not necessarily like a a, a designated [00:28:00] end state for the game. It'll be ongoing.

Elf: All right. Um, let's see. Other questions? Uh,

Dotta: flu had a question. Flu had a question about the ledger and I don't know what it was.

Elf: Oh yeah, I did.

Dotta: I think

Bearsnake: flu's on stage. So flu could just flu. What's

Elf: your question?

Cult Member: So you guys allocated drops for 2000 of the ledgers.

Now we have not sold 2000, so we've sold like less than 500. Does that mean that the allocation would change in a way so that each one of those 500 for showing that like faith in it and whatever would get four times the drop that they originally would've because you still have that same allocation of things to give out overall?

No. Well,

Elf: fuck you then. I'm not gonna stop

Bearsnake: flu. Flu, don't flu. You're new. Sometimes Doda doesn't deliver news in the nicest way. He's [00:29:00] just like, no, but he means it with all his heart.

Elf: Yeah. Um, flu. I wanna come back to you, uh, after we're done with cult questions cuz we have some questions for you. Um, okay. Cool. Um, okay. Yeah, I think I, I think I just see three more questions.

Uh, Snoop Doug is asking, um, are there more rooms than the ones we have seen in the collection? Uh, I think, I think yes. Um, that's not to say that they will ever appear in some other token, but I certainly, I think that the universe has more ruins, um, the, the current ones in the collection. Uh, are, are based on a few things.

They, they are put into a few categories. So there's the planetary ruins, there's four elemental ruins. There's a handful of ruins that, uh, represent, uh, alchemical substances. And then there's a few miscellaneous ruins, um, like the up down, uh, the Omega, the Infinity. Uh, but yeah, I mean, I think the universe probably has a ton other rooms, [00:30:00] uh, floating around.

Um, the one who rings with a hilarious question, he just says, what's this guy's problem? And he's got, he's got an image of, uh, wizard number 9,999, aka the bringer of the end times. Um, so I do not own that wizard, so I can't tell you what his problem is. Uh, only. The wizard owner could tell you that. However, what I can tell you is obviously he's the last wizard in the collection.

Um, and you can see a visual connection between him and the first wizard, uh, warrior of the Warriors Collection, who is the Emissary. Uh, so there's definitely some lore there. I don't know if it's up to me or the owners of those characters to uh, create that lore, but there's definitely a connection. Um, oh, and then give a hoot is asking, uh, Elfin team, how have you been feeling about your attendance on [00:31:00] various spaces this past week?

Uh, good of you to notice. It's definitely something we've been doing a lot. Bear, it was mostly you and I this week. Do you wanna

Bearsnake: talk about it? Yeah, I think think, um, I just think in general, yeah, Doda please talk too. But like, uh, what I'll say is it was part of what we wanted to get better at was, was communicating and messaging.

Um, outside of the Forgotten Ruins bubble. And I think we're starting to do that. And I think, you know, between that and communicating that threat, the mega thread and sharing the deck, I think it's, it's working so far. You know, I think we're not gonna be able to drop a mega 70 slide company deck every week or every month.

But, um, I think it, you know, I think we're off to the right track. We're off on the, on the right.

Elf: Yeah. I

Dotta: like doing it. I like that we're on more spaces. I wanna do it more. Um, at the same time it's like so hit or miss in terms of like, whether you really [00:32:00] click with people and, and you know, it takes up, they, they're never like an hour, right?

They're like two hours and then you're like, oh geez, that was my whole day. And then sometimes you get off and then like, four new wizards join cuz they're like, I love it. And sometimes you get off and you're just like, oh, that was a complete waste of time. And so, um, you know, We need to do it, we need to be on a space probably every day, one of the three of us.

And so I think that's something we're working towards.

Elf: Basically we've discovered that projects that build nothing but spend all their time on spaces, uh, often outperform projects that build constantly and are never on spaces. Um, so we're trying to, we're trying to find the

Bearsnake: balance. Also speak to that.

Just to speak to that. We booked a huge podcast, um, and we're flying to a city in, at the end of the month to go do it in person, which is very exciting. So we'll have more information on that.

Elf: Yeah, that'll be a big deal. [00:33:00] Um, okay, I think that's all the questions. Um, let me just give a Black Sands update and then I wanna jump to flu.

Um, so Black Sands pony racing race, five of the Ether, ether Cup is finished. In first place. This is a new winner. We have Sticks The Efficacious, owned by O X Sharon, or as she's known in some parts of the universe, story time Sharon Congrat to Sharon on her course. Congrats. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Very exciting.

Uh, as far as I know, that's Sharon's first, uh, pony Black Sands Victory. Um, in second place, uh, is Ace the Ful, uh, by bar Baren von Fan, who I believe was in first last week. Ooh, nice. Yep. Yeah. Yep. And then, uh, Vitalik the Strong, uh, by Mr. Brown took seventh, and then in last place is, uh, penny the Sturdy by RGAs.

Um, and if anyone is interested. [00:34:00] Go ahead Alex. Sorry. Well, I was gonna say, uh, even though my pony got stabbed by the Hall of Cats, oh no, she still, she still held in 25th place. That's pretty good. So your stabbed did nothing. Thank you very much. Um,

Bearsnake: i's pretty terrible. I'm not gonna lie.

Elf: Well, it's better than not terrible.

It's better than Do's horse. Josh the Blind who fell three places since last week. He is now in 60th. Oh, good old boy. My God. You got wrecked. I guess being blind is worse than being stabbed.

Dotta: I actually might

Elf: agree

Bearsnake: with that statement. It depends on, on the, on the placement of the stabbing. Right. Stabbing the leg.

Big deal.

Elf: Oh, Josh. Yeah. Um, okay. I wanna, I wanna, we, we have a guest today, uh, flu. Newest member of the cult.

Bearsnake: Um, we have two guests, flu and his lady friend,

Elf: [00:35:00] right? Yeah. So this is, this is what, what I think we all found so much fun, which is, uh, much like Slim and his wife, uh, flew your and your, you and your wife are, uh, now, uh, cult members.

And I, I don't, I don't know. Bear, I mean, do you have a more specific question? I just think it's neat and I just would like to hear like why you guys love the cult or why, what got you interested? I think just

Cult Member: honestly a question for, for white flu, because like, I love NFTs and I love like all this stuff and I, I've done projects and I've, I've made things, but like the thing with her.

Like, I don't think that she's ever felt welcomed in any NFT space. Is that correct, babe?

Elf: That is correct, but I think just to echo, you know, your sentiment, I just think they're neat and I, you know, kind of glommed onto that, they're cute as hell. I love the idea of, um, the lore and like that being like a community driven thing and like it [00:36:00] following the nft, whether, you know, if you choose to kind of like let it go, you know, sell it or whatever.

But, um, but there's so much, I think there's so much in this. I, I don't know. I mean, like for me it's just like, what is there to not like,

Cult Member: yeah, she's like, fuck you. What do you not like about wizards? Like, come on dude. But

Elf: there's everything, you know what I mean? It's not just the wizards and like, that's, that's the most amazing thing about it is that it's just, it's so, it's so much, it's this larger.

World, you know, at large.

Cult Member: I, I think that like something that she, she attached onto and I also attached onto was the, was the range of like derivatives and not just like y'all's own derivatives, but like,

Elf: yeah, I love babies. I love the babies.

Bearsnake: Well, you actually bill gain shout out.

Elf: Yeah. And Bill. Yeah, bill gave me my baby, and so I'm gonna call him my baby daddy.

Oh, acid. Did you hear that acid eater? [00:37:00] Um,

Cult Member: no, I have no, I have no problem with this.

Elf: This is the first time I've said that. So like, just let this be. That's really funny. You're

Bearsnake: shining, you're shining on stage right now.

Elf: Thank you. So, so flu's wife, like, I know flu is into NFTs, but did I hear it correctly?

This, you've never really been into NFTs until forgotten rooms. Is, is that right? I have, I have some NFTs, I have a couple of like, soul Cafe NFTs that I, again, like, I just really liked the aesthetic. I, I never really like fell into a community before because I don't, I don't know, like, I just, I'm not like the biggest of crypto people.

And so for me, I think that NFTs have largely been like, just PFPs. Um, and I know that it, it, there's so much more to it. Um, in general for a lot of project, a lot of projects are, they just are PFPs, but, you know, things like with, with flu's projects on and, and like other things that he's worked for, um, I, I [00:38:00] do wanna see more utility, even if it's not for me.

And I, I think that, um,

Cult Member: for the record, she's never stepped foot in my own server, which I'm, I'm

Elf: not, I'm not, that's a lie. That is an absolute lie. I have been in there. How many

Cult Member: posts

Elf: have you made? Uh, Listen, that was back when you made it of November of 2020 1 21. The only thing that matters is

Bearsnake: the only thing that matters is how many posts have you posted in the Wizards Discord, and how many posts have you posted in your husband's discord?

Elf: That's a really great question. I've probably definitely posted more in the Wizards discord. I haven't been super active. We win win, we win. You do win, you win. Absolutely. And I honestly, I have to say, and I made a, I made a tweet about this, um, whenever I posted about, you know, getting my warrior and getting my baby the day after I joined, um, the community.

But I have never received such an outpouring of like, Love and support and just like a general welcome ever in any [00:39:00] community I've ever, ever like tangentially been a part of. It's, it's been huge.

Cult Member: I think that you need to actually join the, the space with your account so that people can follow you if they

Elf: choose to.

I just didn't Yeah, turn in the same place. It's just, it was just like a thing where like, I can't actually speak on the thing because we're literally car

Bearsnake: or just kick him outta the car. Kick him outta the car and find him on your phone.

Cult Member: We stopped on m we, we stopped on MK Road and like in Atlanta, so this is a really sketchy gas station.

Can I, can I please not get out of the car?

Bearsnake: Fine. You're allowed to stay. All

Elf: right. Cool. Thank you. I am now in, in the, the space. I just have my volume all the way down.

Cult Member: Awesome.

Bearsnake: Well, we're, we're so happy to have you. I got, I flew, I don't even know what happened, like within like 10 minutes. I was on the actual, on like an actual phone call with you.

Um, yeah, dude, I'm,

Cult Member: I, I literally, I'm a fucking, I'm a sniper bro. Like, [00:40:00] I, I go after heads of projects. You've fallen right into my trap anyway. Win collab with SA and f wrc, like that's the real question.

Bearsnake: Well, you know, we're working on it, so,

Cult Member: uh, sorry. Wait. Fwc fuck. I can't,

Bearsnake: well, it took it actually fun fact, it took me about six months to get the acronym right.

Um, but now I have it, so we'll give you six months. But yeah, no, we, we will, we will, let's like figure out a way, um, to make it happen. We love supporting projects, uh, for people from our community and it's awesome to have you. We love husband, wife team. Maybe we do like a two on two arm wrestling match.

With you and Slim's wife. Um, but we'll have to sort that out for the next I r l event. I am

Cult Member: actually putting you down for that. I do. I get to wrestle the wife though cause like I'm not that strong.

Bearsnake: No, no. Trust me. Slim is not much of a, an athlete, let's just say. So. Uh, his handle is slim. Yeah, he's great at [00:41:00] working.

Sorry, slim.

Anyway, it's, it's great to, to have y'all. We love you slim. We love Slim's wife. Um, but yeah, thank you guys for joining. We, we love when it's more of a family affair. It's just, it's, it's our vibe. Um, and Jodi, what do you call it? You'd like to keep, uh, Christmas, the holiday Christmas family

Dotta: vibe in the district.

Eternal big family Christmas party vibes.

Bearsnake: There we go. And so, uh, families are welcome and we're so happy to have you.

Cult Member: Awesome. We're welcome. I, and I thank everyone for the warm welcome for, for both of us.

Elf: I really like, uh, I, I think, uh, flu's wife said something about it, not like this project, not feeling like crypto or, um, something about that.

And I just wanna say, and maybe this is gonna be controversial, but I think the most successful N F T projects will not feel like crypto at all in a few [00:42:00] years. Um, all the crypto will be sort of hidden, um, at least to the mainstream. If, if the mainstream can't enjoy your N F T project and it's only niche crypto communities that can enjoy it, um, I, I feel like that's not the right path for like five years down the

Cult Member: road.

Can I, can I speak about that for a second actually? Cause I Yeah, please. Feel's important. So, I, I, um, I've founded a, a few projects that I've helped on a bunch of other projects from the beginning. And like a lot of of projects, they, they're focused on them being a project. They're focused on them being like an nft They're focused on, on delivering specific utility for like a very like, niche use case of like a part of defi or a part of like whatever, or part of gaming or part of whatever, or part of just like, really just a Ponzi, right?

They're like, oh, well if I get in first and my friends get in second, then I'll make a lot, they'll make a little bit last. People won't make anything next. People will lose everything. Right. Um, and [00:43:00] what I've been looking for for the past year are brands that are brands and that, that, that intend on building things as brands, like Pudgy Penguins.

They're going after, like literally they're going after completely IP and licensing deals, right? Which, It is great. And they're going after a very specific set of markets for that. They're like, okay, well we wanna hit this realm and then forgotten ruins. Y'all are going after a few different verticals for the same thing.

You want something that, that represents a brand and an experience and not any sort of like financial incentive necessarily. Yep. And then the same thing is true of, of a bunch of others, but like, you have to make it so where people who don't care about crypto care about your brand. Exactly.

Elf: Exactly. Right.

Totally agree. But, and like, you know, I don't want that to scare away like [00:44:00] the, the hardcore crypto token people, because tokens are very important to us. Um, and so it'll always be a vital part of what we do. We always wanna return as much to the NFT holders as we can. Um, but you know, the brand has to be stronger than just the crypto community.

Dotta: Yeah. Tokens doesn't always mean pon genomics and like designing elegant incentive systems is an art in its own right. Like, if we could design an incentive system such that like creative people can come together to collaborate on a global ip, and then everyone harvests the value that they contribute as a result of the success, that's like the ideal situation.

Bearsnake: Yeah, I, I

Cult Member: agree. I, I've spent, I mean, I've spent like literally a year with, within an Ave Fork with no token on seven chains because like, we [00:45:00] wanted to make sure that that like tokens model was dialed in and actually returned value to people. And it's exactly that, like, There's, there's ways to do this responsibly, and you have to sit down and make sure that you're learning from others' mistakes and not just laughing at mistakes and not just like, observing mistakes.

Yep. We agree.

I'm gonna, I'm gonna step down to listener. I love y'all. Love everybody for showing up. Um, Sammy, nice to see you again. Chris, nice to see you down there with your extraordinarily distracting bfb. Y'all have a good day

Elf: later.

Bearsnake: Good to

Elf: have you. I, well, I think I just really love like these, when, when I hear stories of people, uh, crypto people onboarding non crypto people, um, So, you know, husband and wife teams are, are an exemplar of that oftentimes.

Um, but, but really just any story of onboarding non crypto people. I, [00:46:00] I want to hear more of those. They're, they're super fun. Yeah. And

Dotta: I think that a part of like what you're saying is that, um, well, I just wanna see the usability of crypto be absorbed into like, day-to-day functionality. So, for example, like it used to be, you know, let's say even 20 years ago, Um, if you had a laptop, you were like a nerd, right?

That was like very rare to kind of like have a laptop and then now everyone does. Right? Now everyone has like a phone in their pocket, right? And it's the same thing with like gaming, right? A lot of people don't think of themselves as like gamers, but they'll play Candy Crush for like hours on end, right?

And it's this idea that like, you can play Candy Crush for like five hours a week and not think of yourself as a gamer. Why? Because it's just like, um, like the casualness of the interaction, um, makes you, you know, it doesn't, doesn't have to be like part of your identity and it doesn't have to be very like, sophisticated to like, use the technology.

And I think crypto's gonna be like that, where it'll get integrated in such a deep way that you can like, participate without like, [00:47:00] I don't know, like all of the weirdness that we have to deal with right now.

Bearsnake: Yeah, there's so many friction points along the way. And actually something to that, uh, I think Bob Aer was interviewed, um, a few days ago and he was talking about how he thinks NFTs are, you know, just a hotbed for innovation.

Um, and you know, they're gonna definitely jump into it and hopefully they get that going before we rise too big and completely destroy them. So, good luck

Elf: Iger Bear. Uh, isn't Bob Iger one of your friends?

Bearsnake: Bob Ager. I'm not that old. Jesus. Um,

Elf: yeah. But don't you have like a pet name for him?

Bearsnake: Oh, oh, oh yeah.

Bobby boy. Yeah. Yeah. Bobby

Elf: boy. Yeah,

Bearsnake: Bobby boy. Bobby boy. Uh, I've, I've, I've crossed paths with Bobby boy. Um, I didn't have the balls to call him that. Um, but maybe, maybe when we're across the table negotiating, uh, in the future, that's a little, uh, negotiation tactic to get in his head. [00:48:00]

Elf: No one's probably tried that one yet, but Bob Iger came and gave a, uh, big, um, I guess talk to the company that I used to work at with Bear.

Um, interesting

Bearsnake: guy. Yeah. Yeah. He's, um, he, he's incredibly smart and my gosh, he, he's like so ahead of the curve. That guy is, I think what he like took that company from like a, I'm gonna mess up the number slightly, but he took the company from like a $47 billion market cap company to like a $250 billion market cap company.

He, uh, he's definitely an innovator, quite smart, and. Would love to, uh, maybe we'll hire him and we'll replace donuts. Yeah. The

Elf: ceo. Yeah. I I've only heard good things about him

Dotta: from like my friends that work at Disney. Yeah. Pretty. Yeah. Funny. He can gladly take my job. That's funny.

Bearsnake: New CEO Magic Machine, Bobby

Dotta: Iger.

Elf: it. Um, okay, let's stop talking about Bob Iker. [00:49:00] Um, I wanna go over some cult content and, uh, a really interesting project has popped up in the last few weeks, uh, from the cabinet of Curiosities. Uh, so welcome to the stage cabinet of Curiosities. Uh, what have you been working on lately? Hey, hello Wizards.

Uh, hello. Yeah, so it's funny that, um, questing came up as a topic because, uh, there's a quest already available for. The cult members, the disappearance of Conjuror Atlanta of the brambles, which I call it, uh, collaborative unchain lower building event. Um, so what happened that, um, a wicked wizard stole a magical mirror from the cabinet and,

Bearsnake: uh,

Elf: he trapped Atlanta in [00:50:00] it.

And, uh, another coincidence, what happened? That flu was just on the stage and, uh, actually he was the one breaking the mirror into shards, uh, with, uh, cleric Samuel. Mm. And now it's, um, up to the cut to find all the species and, uh, And save Atlanta from this imprisonment. And this, this is, uh, an original, uh, blockchain experience created by the cabinet of Curiosities.

Um, v Mark sent this to me, uh, I think it was two weeks ago. Um, and it's really cool. I, uh, I definitely recommend you all checking it out. Um, where can people access this? Okay, so there's the cabinet, cabinet of Curiosity. Curiosity is, uh, website, what, uh, you can find in [00:51:00] the, through the forum in the, um, forgotten rules, discord.

And, uh, actually the pieces of the mirror can, can be found at many different places, um, in Discord servers, uh, Twitter, And, uh, the Black Sand Tournament, uh, next race starting tomorrow. And, uh, it's a bit of a DJ game, um, because there are high stakes and, uh, yeah. And for those who may not know, uh, really great things always coming out of the cabinet of curiosities, uh, I think the last thing we saw was the lo, which was essentially a 3D representation of all the wizards networked together in the book of lore.

Did I, did I describe that right? Yeah. Yeah. I think that's, um, [00:52:00] accurate. Um, yeah. And yeah, one more thing. So everyone who's, uh, who's participating in finding the shards, we are basically win a ticket to a collaborative, uh, magic item crafting. In the cabinet of curiosities. I love it. Um, yeah, Al always great work coming out of the cabinet.

Um, y you are also, um, making me, uh, remember something else. Your, your current P f P. Did that come from the cabinet of curiosities or is that something else? Oh, uh, no, that's, uh, that's, uh, coming from, uh, small. Small, is it called Small Wizard? I think it's the Wizard Smalls. Is that what it is? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah. So this is a new thing that I've noticed. Um, wizard Smalls is, is that by small Protect or is that somebody else? I have no idea. It's, no, it's [00:53:00] somebody else. It's a new person

Dotta: and it, I don't, I don't even think that his wizard is forgotten. Ron's wizard, first and foremost, I think it's just he identifies as Wizard and he also is doing smalls.

Elf: And he's

Dotta: done some forgotten ruins people, but it's a separate project.

Elf: Yep. I think that's right. Uh oh. And uh, one more thing just regarding the disappearance of Atlanta. There were already 11 wizards and ponies finding shards, but, uh, no warriors. So I'm a bit worried.

Dotta: I got my, I got my treasure trove box yesterday, which was just glorious.

Thank you. Meatball dad and everyone who contributed my family really loved opening it. It was so fun. I've got the socks. Um, I, I'll probably wear them to church tonight. And the, one of the things that happened is in the notebook, there was actually a [00:54:00] picture of, of the shard in my notebook.

Elf: Oh yeah. Yeah.

Actually there's a shard hidden in the Q QR code. Ah,

Dotta: so may, I guess I found one

Elf: so I better claim it. Exactly. Okay. Okay. Awesome news cuz I also got a maple treasured box just the other day. Thank you Maple. It is freaking amazing and I never made the connection though that this QR code is connected to the broken mirror.

So now I have one. Let's go find some more L f G,

especially if you're a warrior. Um, that's awesome. Thank you. V mark. Uh, just, i, I love seeing the cult build things. Um, another, uh, account that I just wanted to shout out that I discovered just the other day, um, it's a Twitter account called Color the Cult. Um, and it just looks like a, uh, a coloring book.

Oh, I love this. It's so cool. It's really [00:55:00] fun. You

Dotta: know, I would, I really wanna learn how to train stable diffusion models and I would love to train. A coloring page model and then feed wizards through it, that would be amazing. But I looked into it and it's actually super involved. So if anybody knows how to do that, hit me up.

Elf: Yep. Um, let's see. Sorry. The, the one who rings is asking time for Hugh master lore, uh, was I did that at the top of the hour. Were you not present? We'll talk to you after. See me in my office.

Bearsnake: No, no, no. It's cool. I already told him Bobby Boy's first order of business is the fire was. So now we,

Elf: oh no. Bobby boy gonna be to make some good memes.

I honestly wa should probably have Bobby boy's job. Wa Yeah. Wa should be the CEO of Disney. Yeah, Bobby wa. Bobby Woz. Woz boy. Um, speaking of Woz, Woz is working on something very cool that I can't [00:56:00] wait to, to, uh, to reveal. Um, yeah, get

Dotta: up

Bearsnake: here. Woz, tell

Dotta: us about it. He's never spoken. He's, he hasn't really spoken in the, he should at least ring his

Bearsnake: bell.

No, no, no. I think what I think we should do is he has to come up on stage and talk, or we fire him. I think we put it to a vote,

Elf: man. Why is it, what

Dotta: is it with you wanting to fire him today? Yeah. What's

Elf: up with that? Your job is perfectly fine.

Bearsnake: Ribbing.

Elf: Um, yeah. No, I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. I'm was, you're gonna have bear snakes job.

How about that,

Bearsnake: please? God, I just wanna sleep.

Elf: He sits across the table from Bob Iger and just starts ringing his bell. This is my final wipe.

Bearsnake: That's a really good negotiation tactic. I'm gonna have to borrow

Elf: your, your bell wa like, like tuco's granddad in the

Dotta: negotiating table.

Elf: Nice. Um, breaking bad reference Doda. [00:57:00] Um, okay, we're about out of time, I think. Uh, Doda are, are you, uh, are you geared up for your, for your performance? Yeah, we're ready. Ki kids,

Dotta: are you ready? Yeah.

Bearsnake: Oh my God. Heart is about to out,

Elf: so, yeah, I mean, so let me just make the introduction while they're getting ready.

Um, I think this is a Wizard Wednesday first. We have certainly had musical performances in the past. Um, Sharon has, or, or sorry, uh, Laura Punk has sang to us a lot. Um, the one who Rings of course, dropped a serious rap single a few months ago. Um, what other musical performances have we had? We had that amazing one that Spz and l Punk made, uh, a while back.

The the Chime song. Oh, yeah.

Bearsnake: And I mean, DJ Glendo Lyn was, was, was in the, was in the, was in the studio producing right

Elf: now, actually. Yes. That's an upcoming, uh, surprise. But, you know, the dirt throughout all of this, we've always heard, uh, [00:58:00] tales of, of the musician in our midst, AKA Doda, but we've never actually heard him sing.

Oh, yeah. So it is, it's the top of the year and, uh, I, I think we're finally ready for it.

Dotta: So I'm here with, um, Roone, caster gh, Woohoo, and Catherine the great hi. And, uh, we're sitting here playing on a nylon guitar that I picked up at a pawn shop in San Francisco for, I don't know, $40 or something. So it's not my finest instrument, but, uh, yeah.

Well, uh, we're gonna sing. You guys ready? Maybe you should play your finest instrument. I, well, this is what we

Elf: have now. Okay.

Rainbows are [00:59:00] vision,

rainbow rainbows.

So

the lovers

said that every wish would be wish.

Somebody of that

Bearsnake: believed

Elf: it. What done [01:00:00] so far,

so amazing that keeps

Think

Bearsnake: Rainbow,

Elf: have.

Bearsnake: And have you heard voices

Elf: heard them?

This

sailors[01:01:00]

rainbow connection, the.

Yeah. Love that.

That was amazing. Goosebumps.

Bearsnake: Oh my gosh. Thank you kids. Your dad was a little sharp, but

you

Elf: were perfect. You're welcome. Oh my God. They even say you're welcome in unison. Oh man. It's like the Partridge Family. [01:02:00]

Bearsnake: Oh, that was beautiful. Doda. Thank you for letting them do that and Yep. And, and sounded fantastic.

Elf: Yeah, that was great. Um, anything else? There's

nothing

Bearsnake: else after that. We're just gonna

Elf: close. There's nothing else after that for sure. Can you play

Bearsnake: us out? Doda, can you play us out just with the guitars? Yep. It's okay. Play us

Elf: out. Okay. Well, uh, thank you everybody. This has been, uh, wizard Wednesday. Uh, channeling out.

This has been El Doda, his singing children, their snake, Sammy Kitty, the cabinet of curiosity, Lou and his wife, and the entire forgotten rooms, wizards told, building the rainbow connection to the rest of the world, g and everybody.[01:03:00]
