Wizard Wednesday December 28th

=

Elf: [00:00:00] It is Wednesday. We're wizards and today is the day we like to call Wizard Wednesday. It's the end of year magical extravaganza channeling in from the quantum down. This is Elf. Joining me on the piano is

Dotta: I wish I was me on the piano.

Bearsnake: And on the non-existent skins is bear.

Dotta: So for Christmas, Mrs. Doda actually got me a concertina, which is like a pirate accordion.

So, you know, I actually would love to do like a live music episode of Wizard Wednesday, or at least like, like a, like a mini concert. So yeah, we should do signups. Maybe by the summer I'll be good enough and, and we could have, you know, S B Z come and play as a guitar and Margaret can sing and I'll play the

Elf: pirate accordion.

Cult Member: Oh, that's a fun idea. That'd be [00:01:00] amazing. I love it. Um, yeah. Uh, what,

Elf: what'd you say? It was called Concertina.

Dotta: It's called a concertina. Yeah. And it's like, it's like a HX two hexagons with like, uh, bellows in between. It's really fun.

Bearsnake: Can you

Dotta: play metal on it? You could, I'll

Bearsnake: bring my double bass pedal.

Cult Member: How, how is that different from like an accordion?

Elf: That's what it, it sounds like an

Dotta: accordion. It, it, it, I guess technically it would be classified as an accordion. Yeah, no, it is an accordion. Um, but's like, just like a little, like a little travel one, you know? So if you're like on your voyage with your crew mates and you all wanna break out into song, you're like, oh, I brought my concertina.

This is perfect. I just waiting for

Cult Member: this. Yeah. That sounds like something that happened all the time on pirate

Elf: ships.

Bearsnake: Yeah. I, I always play my concertina when I'm dying of scurvy in

Elf: the, yeah,

Cult Member: we, we've got a big show today and I mean, it's a big [00:02:00] one. We've got updates, we've got cult questions. We've got an end of year roundup from Magic Machine and from the cult.

Uh, and if we have time, um,

Elf: Yeah, actually, that's probably all we're gonna have time for today.

Cult Member: So let's jump right in. Uh, quick updates. Apparently it's somebody's birthday today

Elf: or, or maybe it was a few days ago. And

Cult Member: that person is the no notorious Sammy Kitty. Happy birthday. Happy birthday.

Bearsnake: Happy

Cult Member: birthday.

Um,

Elf: yeah, I, I'm probably a few days off on that, but I noticed, uh, some chatter in the

Cult Member: discord, so happy birthday, Sammy.

Elf: Um, and then I also wanted to give another update, um, Merlin, uh, the

Cult Member: illustrious Merlin, the magical Merlin. Uh, just sent a beginner's

Elf: guide to, uh, me and the team this morning. I haven't had a chance to look

Cult Member: totally through it, but, um, You know, what I really love is [00:03:00] oftentimes

Elf: we will put out a request saying We need this, we need that.

And a cult member just steps up to the plate in the next few days. Um, and so yeah, we definitely want to get this beginner's guide out there. Cause I know that whenever new people come to the cult, that's, uh, it's, it's, it's a, uh, it's, people are like, where to start? How, how do I dive in? Um, this is something we're always improving on.

So, yeah. Merlin, thank you so much. Um, I can't wait to share this, this guide. Yeah. One

Dotta: of the things on the beginner's guide too is, um, you know, we have the, the Wiki and then Merlin has also his like, tree, uh, tree wiki. You know, if, if you want access to the, the Wikipedia as well, uh, feel free to reach out to any of us and we're happy to kind of like get more people involved there.

You know, I think that's, um, a, a couple of those resources are a great way for people to collaborate. And, uh, well get, get these ideas organized. So that's really exciting. Thank you, Merlin.

Cult Member: Yep. Yep. [00:04:00] Um, okay, uh, Colt questions, uh, we don't have too many today, uh, but let's start out with a, a good classic end of year que question from Tanya Del

Elf: Rio.

Cult Member: Uh, do you make New Year's resolutions? And if so, what are they? Um, you know, what's funny is, is last

Elf: week someone asked us about, uh, mistakes or things we regret or things we can improve. Um, and I said, no, I'm good at everything. Or something, something or arrogant like that. Uh, but the truth is, is I'm actually really bad at Twitter.

And so my resolution this year is to get better at Twitter. Ooh. Um, yeah, that's fine. What about you, Donna? Bear? That's a great one.

Dotta: You know, Uh, no. I always kind of have like my internal revolutions, uh, throughout the whole year, but I do turn 40 this year. I turn 40 in January, and so, you know, so be ready for your midlife crisis, cult leaders, [00:05:00] midlife crisis

Elf: this year.

Uh, are you saying you're gonna go, uh, uh, rogue on AODA and burn the house down? Well, no. We're

Dotta: just gonna shoot up testosterone by a, uh, Corvette, a red Corvette with no, like a Yeah.

Elf: Convertible.

Cult Member: So go rogue and burn the house down. Yeah, exactly.

Elf: Bear you, uh, you hit your me midlife crisis years ago, so I know that's not your resolution.

Let's just

Bearsnake: relax. Let's just relax. My gosh. I can go harder than both of you guys

Cult Member: combined. That's true.

Elf: That's true. It's true.

Bearsnake: Put put, put a 20 year old next to me. I dare, I dare, I dare, I dare that person. Try to beat me at anything. Um, no. My resolution, um, my resolution is, Um, to work harder and smarter, I think.

Um, mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And, uh, you know, like we spent a lot of time, like I was, you know, I was looking through the, um, [00:06:00] beginner's guide that Merlin put together, which is just absolutely fantastic. And I think, and, and I think I can speak for, for the three of us, uh, we spend a lot of our time banging our heads against the wall, um, trying to figure out how to simplify and communicate who we are, what we're doing, why we're doing all, all the things.

And so I think, yeah, I don't think we've figured it out completely. So I think one of my resolutions is, um, is, is really try to like systematize how we approach that and, you know, been doing some thinking, um, about like, you know, what videos we can making, how we can break it down. Um, I think the tough part is, is like, you know, however you approach it, there is no like simple.

Answer to it, right? Because it's just like, there's so many layers to what we're doing, and a lot of those layers have been created by the cult themselves. So, um, anyway, that's my, uh, my New Year's resolution is to figure out how to, how to solve that, that riddle.

Dotta: Yeah, I think that it was like, [00:07:00] uh, you, that told me something that I even put in my notes, which was just like, there's two ways, like when, well, with this kind of project, there's two things that you do.

Like you build stuff and then you talk about it. And like, I weigh over index on the building stuff and like weigh under index on the talking about it. And I think that's for su like clearly something that is like, yeah, a challenge facing the cult through this year is like, literally let's just talk about, you know, what we did last year for the first quarter, um, and try to make it a bit easier to understand.

Elf: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. I, I think crypto projects in general are notorious for, uh, talking about things and over promising, but not really building and delivering.

Bearsnake: Yeah, but there's things to like learn, right? There's things to learn from the people who just do a lot of talking, right? And not a lot of building, um, because they're able to sort of squeeze value out of that.

Um, and I think perception is important and I think, you know, I mean we, you know, there's been a lot of really interesting intellectual conversations going on [00:08:00] in. The, uh, wizards discord, which I really appreciate. I mean, I want you all to know that we all read all the things that are being written in there.

Um, and a lot of it can do with just sort of amplifying what's going on, how we talk about it, how we can get bigger and better. And, um, and I think like paired with and like really strong announcements and partnerships that we have coming up, um, along with getting better about how commu, how we're communicating what we're doing.

Good, good Combo.

Dotta: Yeah, the sales chat has been super, super helpful. You know, I think that like one of the things that's interesting is maybe, well, I don't know, like I felt, felt like very early in the project, maybe the first few months when there were things that were kind of like challenges. It was just to the three of us to kind of figure it out.

And what's really wonderful is sort of like, it's like a whole cult effort now where they're like, oh, we're seeing these problems. You know, if you hang out in sales, pro sales chat, you know what they are. And so I think, but ha, being able to kind of like, dig in, have a [00:09:00] conversation, have perspectives from all over.

Um, well it's just, it's just great because we're able to like, come up with solutions and we have a lot of good ideas for, for this year.

Elf: We sure do. Uh,

Cult Member: next question. Uh, slim asks, who in your

Elf: childhood, uh, inspired you to per pursue your current career path?

Cult Member: Um, my current career path, I think

Elf: I've said this before and it's kind of a cheesy answer, but honestly, Jared Tolkien was a huge influence on me.

I read Lord of the Rings when I was like 13 years old, long before the movies ever came out. And it just, it blew my mind how one person could create such a gigantic world with so many characters, so much history, so much lore behind it. Um, and it that, that, uh, that sort of, uh, hope and dream has never really left me.

Um, do you guys have any childhood heroes? Yeah, I think

Dotta: similarly like, um, You know, it's really clear, it's very easy for me to [00:10:00] see like, kind of my dad's influence in my life and how I ended up here. And so far as like, um, you know, my dad was the one that like, read, sit, would sit down and read us like Lord of the Rings.

He'd read us The Chronicles of Narnia. He would read us, uh, when we were old enough, we, uh, we had like the Wheel of time series books in our house, right? And then, and there was also my dad too, where in like the eighties and nineties my dad always had a Mac. So like, even when there was sort of like counterculture or like really, honestly too early to even own a Mac, we were like super into it, you know, my dad got me my first book on like how to do like c compilers and like, he didn't really, you know, he was kind of like learning how to program too.

Neither of us knew really what we were doing. And so, but I think like you can totally see that common thread of looking back on like, what got me here is this like, uh, well just like really enjoying these like imaginative inspiring stories, but then also pairing it with like technology all along the

Elf: way.

Bear.

Bearsnake: Um, you know, [00:11:00] both of my parents were big influences, but specifically, um, I think my mom is the one who taught me how to be a risk taker. Um, mm-hmm.

Cult Member: Did your mom teach you how to use your phone because your mic

Elf: cut out.

Dotta: Aw, yeah.

Bearsnake: No. Whoa. No. Just kidding. No, my daughter called me. Um, no, I think, uh, okay. You know, there. There are like two types of like everything I've ever done in my life has been like a default. No. You know, it's like I wanted to be in a band and like make it as a professional musician.

That's a default. No wanted to be a writer. That's certainly a default. No. Like, you know, most people never make it. Um, and then like getting into, like starting your own companies, um, that's usually a default. No. If you look at the statistics and so, uh, I think, you know, I have to credit my mom for instilling in me [00:12:00] disability to get like, punched in the face 10,000 times and just like, stand back up and keep going.

So thanks mama.

Elf: Thanks mom for punching me in the face a thousand times. Yeah, don't, don't, that's quote from

Bearsnake: Don't call the police on my mom, please.

Cult Member: Metaphorical. Okay. Slim also has another good

Elf: question. This is actually a really good question. He asks, Is water wet? Oh. Um, and I think when, if maybe a lot of people see that first you think, oh, slim is just trolling us.

But there's some deep wisdom in what Slim is asking this, uh, this question is water wet? Uh, it is almost like a, uh, Zen Cohen, if you know what that is. It's basically a, a question that sort of distorts your understanding of reality through a, like a nonsensical proposition. Um, it sort of embraces the chaos of the world and it, it's, it's essentially what would happen if a purple hat in a white hat went to a bar and chatted all night until closing.

Cult Member: Um, so my answer is

Elf: that considering this question is a cone, there is no, uh, point in answering it. [00:13:00] Um, wet describes a state of being where one material or object is soaked or covered in water. So can water be covered in itself? Um, or is water covered in water? Just water. Uh, so slim, I say to you, go put your purple hat on.

Uh, and meditate in the white tower for seven days.

Bearsnake: That's such a cop out. That's such a cop out.

Cult Member: Oh, okay. There you answer. Is water wet?

Bearsnake: I mean, can we all just say water is wet? Correct. Water is

Cult Member: wet. Uh,

Elf: okay. So then I ask you, uh, can is, can, can water be covered in water?

Bearsnake: Yeah. You're covered in yourself all the time, aren't

Cult Member: you?

No. Dude, maybe you're, well, I love the, I love

Bearsnake: the confidence. How could you possibly be covered in yourself?

Elf: I, I dunno that, that sounds kinda like an innuendo dude.

Bearsnake: Yeah, I, I was about to say, I, yeah. Don't look into what I'm saying too deeply.

Cult Member: Ok. [00:14:00]

Elf: If you

Dotta: leave the Buddha

Elf: in a pool, kill him. Yeah. Um, okay. And then

Cult Member: final question

Elf: from, uh, cosmic Night Jar, uh, to the founders,

Cult Member: what was your favorite wish that people made to

Elf: Giga Santa?

That's a fun one.

Cult Member: Um, do you guys wanna start on that one?

Elf: I

Dotta: was surprised at how many people tweeted like, oh, I want a pony. Like that was like, yes, I haven't looked at the logs, but like, that was feel, felt like the number one thing I saw on Twitter. And so agreed. It was funny how like, yeah, a lot of people reaching out, they're like, oh, great gays.

Chad said, I get a pony. And I'm just like,

Elf: hang on there

Cult Member: buddy. No, that, that, that's my response is everybody asked for a pony

Elf: and gigas Chad lied and said, everyone's

Cult Member: getting a pony. Gigas.

Elf: Chad was also confused

Dotta: about whether I was a he or a she. So I don't think he knows as much

Bearsnake: as he thinks. I mean, that's under, that's understandable.

Elf: Yeah. I, I, I'm gonna say that,

Cult Member: uh, quantum

Elf: Boros was distorting time for Giga Chad, and he was referring to last root SMUs. Mm-hmm. Um, when everybody [00:15:00] did get a pony.

Cult Member: Um,

Elf: also I noticed that someone asked for a ru uh, a bottle of beer and he said he's not gonna serve underage wizzies. I thought that was cute.

Um, he

Cult Member: told some good jokes and poems. Um, those are the ones that really stood out to

Elf: me. Um,

Cult Member: bear, did you have

Bearsnake: any? I'm trying to think of, um, yeah, I'm trying to think of like specific ones. There weren't any, I mean, I just, I read so many. I feel silly not being able to call 'em out, but, uh, I do think that Gigas Chad handled most of the requests pretty well.

Um, yeah, Che Chta, Bob gave him a run for Fors money for sure. Um, but, uh, yeah, I, I just thought it was so much fun and, and kudos to, um, to Doda, I think it was you that came up with the idea to integrate, um, uh, chat into that. So I thought that was really neat.

Dotta: Oh, yeah. I'm not sure whose idea it was, but props to Magis was here for putting that together.

I mean, I thought it was really charming, really well done, uh, almost single handedly who put that [00:16:00] together. So good job.

Elf: Uh, Chat. G p t more like Chad, g p t. Yeah. There you go. Hello.

Cult Member: I stole that from Mag was here so he doesn't talk. So we get to steal Hall's jokes. Exactly.

Bearsnake: Yeah, exactly. Bring it, bring it

Elf: Mags.

Cult Member: Um, well, okay, this is a good segue into the next section with, which

Elf: is, uh, the end of your roundup. So let's start with all the things that Magic Machine has done, and

Cult Member: we're gonna tweet about this later with a more

Elf: comprehensive list.

Cult Member: But, uh, let, let's, let's tackle it in Wizard Wednesday and let's go into somewhat of a reverse order.

Um, so, so, uh,

Elf: yeah, wus, uh, a very gigas wsus, Chad, G P t. Um, I, you know, what I loved about this is, uh, it was just a really, it was an accessible way for people to access, uh, chat. G P t I'm, I'm guessing a lot of people had not used it yet, cuz maybe they don't know how or. Whatever, but you know, we just built a [00:17:00] fun little portal into it.

Um, and I'm, I'm guessing this is a lot of people's first experience with Chat, chat G P T and

Dotta: there are, so there is so much opportunity there. So, uh, a couple of things. One, when we did Giga Chad, we didn't actually keep a lot of context between your different requests. So it was super fun that you could ask Chad, um, you know, write me a poll on this or ask him question, but it wasn't as much of a conversation as you get with chat G B T, which, um, we might do in the future, right?

This was just our first kind of dipping our toe in being able to use those language models. The second thing is that you can actually fine tune, uh, T three. Which basically means you can kind of prompt it with your own knowledge. Um, so one of, uh, the goals for this year is to kind of put together a data set of everything that's known about the universe.

One of the things that you notice when you talk to, to, to, to gig Chad is he kind of knew about Elf and Dota and a little bit about himself, but there, if, when you start to like, kind of dig deep into different things about their university, [00:18:00] frankly just was like making stuff up. So, um, well you can actually train, chat g p t to know certain facts, uh, or to at least to, to, to learn things.

And so it would be very, very interesting and I think that we probably will, we'll put together a data set, which is like literally everything that is known about the universe. Uh, about the universe. And you'll be able to have kind of like a chat bot, either that we put it into Discord or we put it, you know, in some UI like that.

So yeah, be, look for that.

Elf: We, yeah, we wanna train chat B G P T on the book of lore in the Wikipedia. Um, Ooh. Yeah. And I mean, what an amazing resource slash tool that would be. Um, yeah. You know, and, and Matto I think said something interesting about it. I saw the other day where he

Cult Member: described it as sort of just like a fun little experimental,

Elf: um, thing we released, which, which, yeah, that's what it was.

It wasn't an airdrop, it wasn't tokens. It wasn't, um, you know, anything [00:19:00] huge. It was just a fun little exper experience. Um, and, and, and that's what I think I loved about it so much. Um, but yeah, I, I think we will play more with, uh, chat G P T. There's a lot of promise there.

Cult Member: Um, okay. Going

Elf: in somewhat reverse order.

Uh, so yeah. Uh, recently Bear and I were at the Miami N F T event. Um, I spoke on

Cult Member: stage, uh, just

Elf: about, uh, NFTs and shielded as much as I can about

Cult Member: the universe.

Elf: Um, Uh, and Bear ne nearly killed everyone who hung out with him because he stayed up for three days straight. Um,

Cult Member: uh, trick or treat at

Elf: the Nightmare IMS Door.

Okay. This was a great event, uh,

Cult Member: basically because, well, three reasons.

Elf: It introduced a whole new collection of items. It introduced a whole collection of, of curses or tricks.

Cult Member: And then, um, it, it pulled in

Elf: so many other [00:20:00] projects around, uh, the N F T community. Um, you know, this was, I think, one of the best events we did all year.

Bearsnake: I loved it. I think, um, the, this idea of, of course, the treats and, and the story building that comes from all those treats and items, um, the things that we can, that we're planning on using them for the future. But yeah, this idea of collaboration, I, I know I, I, I always talk about it, but this, you know, hugging in other projects that you, you know, you have respect for and that.

Um, our building along and defining what's going on, uh, in our, in our space, I think is going to be a common theme, not only with what we do in the future, but also, uh, with what everybody's doing. You know, it's like just weaving in other projects with other communities. I, I thought it was great.

Dotta: I also really love burn to reveal mechanics.

I think I'm going to use that more. It's super fun to have a collection that's like split into, um, kind of like the box and you don't know what's inside and you can kind of like [00:21:00] trade that or savor it and save it or save it for, you know, save it for a rainy day or a special event and then you open the box and then you kind of like have a, a secondary rarity, uh, revealed underneath.

I mean, that is, I think that's such a fun mechanic. I probably will do it more.

Cult Member: Yep. Yep, yep. Lots, lots of

Elf: experiments and, and, uh, things we learned through that event and it, and it grew the, the universe. Um, I've been, people, I've been seeing people use the, the items in really fun and creative ways to tell stories.

Um, and I think there's definitely more to come with those items.

Cult Member: Uh, another thing that that, uh, that

Elf: came to us was the Wikipedia, which I think at that point when it came out, I said it was the greatest, greatest thing to happen to the universe. And, uh, I think, I still believe that, um, I certainly wanna make more entries myself.

I know I've been saying that I will and I will. Um, yeah. But it's just, you know, this thing is gonna be a treasure trove of information that we can do so many things with, uh, Yeah. Um, bear, or did you guys, [00:22:00] we had

Dotta: a little bit of, we had a little bit of spam issue, uh, just because like media wiki is like a well-known platform, spam bots targeted, so we do have it as like invite only The invite right now just goes through asking Magus, Wasier, you know, we can figure out something that's like token gated eventually.

Um, but yeah. But really, like, it's, it's, it's very open in so far as like all you have to do is ask. Um, we're happy to give you, uh, access to that. And we really appreciate our contributors to Wikipedia. It's an important part of kind of managing the ever-growing universe.

Elf: Yep.

Cult Member: Um, then, uh, about midway through the year, uh, a major event, uh, the, uh, the Warriors Collection dropped.

Um, I love the Warriors Collection.

Elf: A again, I think the best thing about it is that it expanded the world. It gave us an entirely new character class with, uh, just a different type of lore around them. Um, I think the Warriors now are just like a great entry point into the, into [00:23:00] the forgotten rooms, uh, universe.

Um, and yeah. Oh, and then, and then connected to the warrior, the Warriors was the, uh, the great forging in which a lot of people were able to, uh, forge weapons, gold weapons, um, and the Warriors just continue to be strong. Um, I'm gonna name two notable warriors later in the show today. Um, uh, and

Cult Member: then, uh, earlier than that, the year, uh, I did a TED Talk.

Um, I did a TED talk about,

Elf: uh, decentralized world building. Um, and probably the most notable thing about this TED Talk is that it's now a band, um, forbid knowledge. Yeah.

Cult Member: It's for forbid knowledge. I've, I've been

Elf: banned from the TED stage because I shielded wizards too hard. That's straight up the reason,

Cult Member: but I don't know.

We, we might be able to get it back somehow. I don't know if, if, uh,

Elf: if if it, if it doesn't happen, I don't know the, like the, the video that was [00:24:00] made, perhaps we can repurpose it for the YouTube channel eventually. Um, but yeah, that's a thing that

Cult Member: happened this year. Um, And then there

Elf: are several events that I'm just calling the Summer of Magic.

Um, and so the most notable event that happened during this time was of course, the, uh, the epic legendary, uh, groundbreaking party that we threw, uh, in New York City at a, in F T n yc. Um, and I'm gonna go ahead and hand, uh, hand all the accolades for that party to bear Snake and Lochness. Oh, yeah, yeah. Now Bear Snake.

How'd you do it? How did you get a freaking, you got a freaking pony at our party? How did

Bearsnake: you do that? Listen, uh, when you have magic and really get anything done, um, no. It was just a lot of work. Um, yeah, Locke was by my side the entire time. So much like, you know, so many details went into that. And, and I still, like, I get on calls all the time where they're like, I was at your party and oh my God, I had so much fun.

Um, [00:25:00] and, and I think what I liked about it most was that it wasn't just a party, it was like more experiential. And we had, you know, all these sort of like quote unquote activations where you can try, well, I think that's when we launched the, um, the frog hunt. Uh, the frog hunt for the, the hunt for the, the frog light, uh, whatever we called it.

So you could like try light bulb pros, light bulb pros. So you could like try, you could like, try our video game for the first time. We have like the wall of beat or the Hall of Beast where we had these really awesome lenticular prints of all the beasts and the different states and information about them.

And, you know, you could, you could like write with a typewriter and press with wax and, and there was just all sorts of like really fun stuff to do. And so it felt like, Um, you know, we had a mushroom forest, so it felt like you were really sort of stepping into our world. And, and I, and I'm like, I'm, I'm like chomping at the bit to sort of, um, do that again, um, and take it even further when the [00:26:00] time's.

Right. But I think, you know, I, I think ultimately we should probably have our own little section of Disneyland. Um, but if that's not gonna work out, we're gonna do something else. But I think, yeah, the idea of like rebuilding our world, I think anyone would love to sort of take a walk through the universe.

That was fun.

Elf: Yeah. Epic

Cult Member: Party. Um, another thing that happened during the Summer of Magic, my favorite thing

Elf: actually at that event, one of, one of my favorite things was the fact that Quantum Morra Boros appeared in Times Square just staring down at us like a God. You know, the, there's so much quantum synchronicity happening there.

The, the Quantum Morra Boros is, is this sort of like divine dragon of space and time, and it was sitting in Times Square, which is just, is a distortion of space. And it, it just, it was so freaking perfect. I, I'll never get over that. Um, Uh,

Dotta: not to be like too parental or whatever, but I was just so proud of you.

Like, I mean, I know your parents were there too, and they were proud of you as well, but like, I think all of us [00:27:00] just felt this like collective pride to see your work, our like friend and leader, like your work up there on Times Square in front of everyone that it was also part of like the Christie's auction, which is this just like, you know, global brand, uh, with, of like fine art.

And so yeah, I think that was really wonderful.

Bearsnake: Yeah, it was, it was awesome. And then the other thing that people don't even really talk about, we should talk about this more, is that your piece sold out there were like, I don't know, maybe 20 pieces in that, in that, um, And then auction your piece sold.

Number two, only behind people. Behind people. Like, I'm sorry, I know it's Wizard Wednesday, but what the fuck? Like, people don't even talk about that. Like, like I know, my God. Like, what do we have to do here to get some, to get some love? Uh, yeah. No, that was like, that was, that was crazy. Sorry, I, I just started seeing red.

I'm, I'm, I've calmed down now. Sorry. Yeah.

Elf: You know, it's time of year for that. Truly a

Cult Member: legendary [00:28:00] moment.

Bearsnake: Seeing red. It's the time of year to see red. Yeah. Yeah. What's going on? What's going, going on over?

Cult Member: I, I think he's, he's referring to Santa Claus.

Um, okay. Okay. Furthermore, the Summer of Magic, we also, uh, published our first physical comic book, and we handed those out on the streets of New York City. I mean, how

Elf: many N F T projects can, can you point to and say, yeah, they printed 200,000 physical copies of a comic book? Uh, probably

Cult Member: only just us.

Bearsnake: We also, by the way, uh, I know you're not doing in specific order, but ComicCon New York was in October and we were there.

Yeah. It was amazing. I've met a, I've met a handful of people who actually found out about us while getting handed the comic book by the street team, and then we were also, uh, at Comic-Con in a big way in July. So, uh, yeah, the comic book was a, was a big deal on, there's a lot more coming, uh, on that front too.

Elf: Definitely a lot more [00:29:00] coming on that front. And perhaps we will have a bigger presence at Comic Con as well because of it.

Cult Member: Um, but that's for another Wizard Wednesday. Um, okay. And then, uh, speaking of Oro Boros, we also of course

Elf: released seven beasts prior to that.

Cult Member: Um, I think that might have been the funnest

Elf: quote, token drop we've ever done, just because it lasted seven days and every day you got to like watch the countdown on the auction.

It was a new beast every day. And it, uh, it spawned all the beef spawned that the entire community, uh, if you were lucky, you could claim, um, that, that I think was one of my favorite events of all, like as far as tokens and crypto goes.

Dotta: It was so fun because everybody had to team up to unlock the gate. Yes.

And then, uh, and then you unlock the gate, which kicked off the auction. The auction ran once every, once every day. And then once the auction was completed, the N F T was transferred to [00:30:00] the owner, which kicked off the Beast Spawn, which was a random rotation of 40 whatever, 42 beasts, uh, to random holders each one of seven days.

So you had to check back every 24 hours to see if you could claim your spawn. Ugh. It was so fun. I just wish the supply was higher, but the event itself was just really fun.

Bearsnake: Yeah. That reset, that reset every single day. I remember going in. And me and Nalgene and Lock was in, in there that, that week a lot.

It was just so much fun, the reset. Oh God. And then how, and then Donna, I think you implemented that thing where like every, every time it bid, it would push it back another 15 minutes, like the close of the auction. Oh yeah. Yep. Uh, yeah, which was always really fun.

Elf: Yes. Yep. I loved that event so much. It was probably my favorite.

Cult Member: Um, we also this

Elf: year introduced the House of Wizards Dow. Um, which,

Cult Member: you know, it's, it's a Dow so like, just on principle,

Elf: I try not to. [00:31:00] Interact with too much. I think Dota, you interact with it, uh, mm-hmm. Far more than I do. Yep. Yep. Um, so yeah, I mean, you wanna take this one?

Dotta: Well, yeah. So the Dow is, you know, is really just been developing since then till now to have, uh, a really robust set of like, election mechanisms to have kind of like, uh, uh, a formal, uh, legal structure on the ground.

You know, as much as people throw around this word Dow, um, I can tell you that. That there are almost none that have kind of like a sound legal framework, right? You have nouns and maybe a handful of others. And so a lot of what we've had to do is kind of somewhat groundbreaking in terms of establishing it, which, which provides both liability protection for the, not only the, uh, signers, but also for the cult and any of the participating members as well.

So, yeah, so we should actually have the, all of the papers signed and filed. Um, but in January, um, and, and then we'll, yeah, that, that Dow will be off to the races. I mean, I think that'll still have maybe some [00:32:00] challenges or some things to figure out in terms of like ongoing revenue for the Dow as well, but, You know, it will be really incredible to kind of like, part of this project as a, uh, as a decentralized, legendary means that there are people from all sorts of groups, um, kind of contributing, right?

So Magic Machine is the originators of, uh, forgotten ruins, but we are not, you know, we are not the only creators of course, right. We're not the only people provided. Value. And so, and then, uh, on the other end of the spectrum, you have of course, individual holders who maybe you have one or two wizards. Um, but in the middle you have these, like larger organizations like the, um, the Forgotten Council, uh, the House of Wizards, Dow, um, which will be used to kind of mainly for, for, for, for funding these sort of community art projects, right?

Community building projects, you know, um, you know, it's this Dow actually, this House of Wizards, Dow is actually just one possible Dow. Um, you ca you can, and I've actually heard that some other people will create other Dows that have [00:33:00] slightly different purposes, right? The, the House of Wizards, Dow is a Dow that's designed around like funding community artwork, right?

It's like, um, it's, it's not like required to be a nonprofit, but the, the sort of initial like charter, so. Is kind of geared that way that they don't need to make their money back. But, you know, it's easy to kind of imagine a dow that maybe is sort of like unabashedly, uh, profit seeking. And so you might see some things like that come out this year.

But yeah, the House of Wizards, Dow should get, uh, its own, uh, paperwork and order this year, and you'll start to see it moving a lot faster.

Cult Member: Yep. It's,

Elf: uh, I, again, I, I've, I've barely interacted with it, but to the extent that I have, it's been a bureaucratic nightmare.

Cult Member: And that's no fault of our own. That's, uh, that's just governmental

Elf: regulation.

Yeah, exactly. Um,

Cult Member: so, okay. And then we had, uh, we had some pretty notable appearances on Wizard Wednesday. Uh, I'm, I'm gonna name off three people. We had, uh, Alexis Hanian, uh, join us for

Elf: a Wizard Wednesday at one point last [00:34:00] year. Uh, we had, uh, Christian Na, a k a Hodo. Who, uh, narrated our animated trailer.

Cult Member: And, uh, and then we had of course, uh, the lovable, uh, amazing writer, Derek

Elf: Kolstad, who is our current showrunner.

Um,

Cult Member: that was great. I would love to have, uh, more of

Elf: these sort of celebrities, I guess, on Wizard Wednesday.

Cult Member: I'm sure Bear can hook it up. Um, but, uh,

Elf: but yeah, I mean, and, and then speaking of, uh, I would say finally maybe one of the biggest things that happened, uh,

Cult Member: was

Elf: our animated TR trailer was released, I think it was like last April or something.

I can't believe that was this year. It feels so long ago ago. Um, but, but yeah, I mean, that is the, you know, the whole show thing is, is still, um, on, on track. Um, but yeah, it was, uh, it was great having those three guys on.

Dotta: Yeah, some folks have said, uh, you know, uh, in the chat they've said, [00:35:00] oh, I'm not really sure, like, what's going on with the show.

Feels like there hasn't been a lot of progress, or, I'm like, not exactly clear what's going on there. You know, I think that sort of making a traditional television show moves at a pace that is like quite, um, slower than we kind of predict in, in crypto, right? Like, I think that we released the trailer in.

May, April or May. April or May. Yeah. So that was like, what is that, seven months ago? Yeah. Um, you know, so I think that like, from kind of the perspective of everyone on the other end, it's sort of moving at a regular pace. And so far as like, you have to kind of like develop, all right, who are the characters?

Um, and then we, we, someone comes up with some ideas and then we pass it around, and then we think, oh, does this have enough of the Rui verse in it? And then we kind of, you know, massage it and, and decide which characters do we wanna focus on? Where, what is the initial story, right? Uh, are we building, you know, game of Thrones or are we building Harry Potter?

Are we building Star Wars, right? And so [00:36:00] there's a lot of meetings that have to happen on a week to week basis. Um, you know, we've met with Derek, I don't even know, half a dozen

Bearsnake: times. Many. Yeah. Many, many, many, many, many times. More than a half a dozen,

I'll

Cult Member: tell you that. Yeah.

Dotta: And, and so then now it's like, okay, we've got, you know, these pages, everybody likes them.

We've gotta put together a deck, right? And so then we work with tit mouse to kind of put together a deck. And then they say, oh, well we can draw, you know, some characters, which characters are we gonna draw? What do they look like? What are their motivations? How do they think about the world? How old are they?

You know, develop, like really developing, you know? Cause of course we can't have 10,000 characters in the first season. So it's like, who are the Yeah, they can.

Elf: I'm joking. No, we can't. No, we can't. So who are the sets? We can have five, 12, or a hundred

Dotta: characters. We're gonna have, what do they look like? What are they motivated by?

Right? And so like, yeah, all of that stuff is happening. And I think, I think that from my opinion, I would love to just be like, every time we meet, we publish a blog post and we're like, this is what we talked about. But it turns out like there's actually very good reasons [00:37:00] to kind of like, you know, you, you keep it internal because then it allows people to like, make mistakes.

It allows people to experiment, right? You're not committing to things externally. Um, all that to say, all that is still happening, right? So we're working with Tip Mouse to help us put together a deck working with Derek to put together, uh, the story and, and all. It's like it is completely on track. Um, and I think, you know, will, will go out with them and pitch it sometime this year.

So I don't know if you could want to add any to this

Bearsnake: bear. Yeah, no, I mean, the plan is, is uh, you know, find the distributor sooner than later. So, um, there's a couple things sort of happening. Can you define

Dotta: what you mean by when you say distributor? Oh,

Bearsnake: uh, distributor is like, um, a streaming service. Uh, Netflix or Amazon.

Hbo. Amazon, Amazon Prime video, whatever, ex. Exactly, exactly. And so, um, that is the key to, um, making television show successful, is getting on a platform that has a lot of subscribers or, or [00:38:00] what, what have you. So, but I think, I think we'll have a distributor.

Elf: What was that? Locked in? Bear's cutting out again.

Bearsnake: Can you not hear me? I'm

Cult Member: right here. No, we can now go ahead. Tell your mom to stop hunching you. Yeah,

Bearsnake: mom.

Cult Member: That's good. Call. Um,

Bearsnake: I'd say like by the end of March, I feel like we will likely have, we'll all be set to go and, and all that stuff too. Um, so yeah, it's still, it's still quite very exciting and, and as Doda said, it just takes a long time.

This is. You know, this is the world where I come from and I know has spent a lot of time in it too. It's just, you know, it's why, honestly, it's why I stopped writing is because just, it, it moves at such a snail's pace that it's just quite frustrating. Um, so thanks for being patient, everyone. But I'll tell you, we have, we literally have the best team out there [00:39:00] to, to help execute and get this thing done.

So I'm very excited. Oh,

Elf: it's gonna be amazing. It's, it's gonna be like nothing that's ever hit the screen before. And also

Bearsnake: just, um, just to round it out, I also think there's, there's other, and I don't think we're ready to talk about, but there's other things that impact the decisions that we make about the TV show that have nothing to do with the TV show.

You know, we talk about all Yeah. I've seen in, in, in the tower in sales chat, like, okay, great, you guys are having a TV show. What does that mean? What does that mean for the core collection? Well, it can mean a couple different things. Um, and, and we're, I think it's, it's our job to strengthen that connection and that bridge between the two.

Um, and so even down to even the look of the characters. Um, there's ways to implement that into, um, into sort of on chain activity that ties that, um, the, that relationship as close as possible. So anyway, it's just

Elf: very layered. Yeah.

Cult Member: Well, what, what does it mean? I mean, it means that

Elf: a, a lot of things, it means seeing characters that you own on the screen.

It [00:40:00] means seeing content that you put in the book of lore on screen. It means potentially, and we're still trying to work this out, but like some sort of royalty system that, that is distributed among the cult for these larger media expressions. I mean, this, the show means a lot of stuff. The show in conjunction with merch and comics and toys, the entire franchise that we're speed running, it means a lot.

Um,

Bearsnake: so anyway. Yeah, and doing it properly too. Right. I think a lot of people, just like a lot of Dow, like quote unquote dowels haven't been started. Well, you know, we'll see how those dowels hold up to. You know, lawyers kicking the tires on them if they end up getting come after, you know, so I think like what we're doing is we're building the media killer.

You know, we're like, you know, I'm not gonna say we're building the Disney killer, but like, they certainly have created a model that is persistent across all of Hollywood. And, you know, can you reverse that and, and prove the [00:41:00] 180 version of, of that in a, in a year, year and a half? No, that's a ridiculous statement.

So it's just, there's a lot to it.

Elf: Yeah, we, uh, we, we, yeah, we could spend a whole Wizard Wednesday on show in the entertainment industry,

Cult Member: but, uh, but I wanna, I wanna keep pushing. Um, so I want, I wanna get to, uh,

Elf: th those are the major highlights from, from Magic Machine over the past year. I, I, there's a few things I left off, but those are maybe the major ones.

I also wanna go over some things that the cult did this year that are perhaps

Cult Member: even more impressive. Um, Uh,

Elf: and, and then maybe next was, or Wednesday we'll go over, uh, what do we have planned for 2023 next? That's good idea. Next year. Cause we certainly have a lot planned.

Cult Member: Yeah. Um, okay. So, I wanna break out the

Elf: community, the, the cult content into two categories.

Uh, one will be, uh, like what I'm calling just community projects, like, like a big project that affected the whole community. Like, like forgotten the, like the [00:42:00] Forgotten Punks collection. Okay. That's in that bucket. And then the other bucket will just be like individual things. Um,

Cult Member: so the community projects,

Elf: uh, you know, at the top of my mind right now is of course the black sands pony racing by leg itus.

Um, what a fun idea. Everybody's been loving it. And probably the best thing about it is that my pony is beating donuts pony. Um,

Cult Member: and uh, so yeah, I mean that's been great. Um, The, the Barron Court, uh, has just been an awesome little, uh,

Elf: project. I love all the artwork coming out of the Barron Court. Massive world building potential from that project. Um, we've got, uh, the Loxley labs, which I told everyone to go follow last week. Um, big things are gonna be coming out of that, but I, I think you can tell just from looking at the current Twitter page, the, uh, the art is just gorgeous.

Um, so [00:43:00] that's gonna be a big one to watch in 2023. Uh, and, uh, like I said at the top, the, uh, the Forgotten punks, uh, derivative collection, so-called derivative collection, um, I remember when that hit, uh, magic Machine internally, we all just went crazy. Yeah. Uh, we were so excited about that. And, and there's still a lot of forgotten punks that I really want.

Um, uh, uh, bear. You guys can, can interject anytime. I'm just gonna keep on rattling these up. I think I

Bearsnake: cut out, but did you say babies?

Cult Member: I think babies was 2021,

Elf: wasn't it?

Bearsnake: Well, we, we should still give babies a shout out cause

Cult Member: Okay.

Elf: Yeah. Obviously the Forgotten Babies Wizard Orphanage, um, no matter what year that was done, it was freaking amazing.

Um, lovely.

Cult Member: Definitely a cult classic.

Elf: Everybody loves the babies. Um, so yeah. D yeah, kudos to the babies. Uh, speaking of, uh, derivative collections, uh, the Heroes of Cumberland was a, was a personal favorite of mine, um, which [00:44:00] was of course, uh, the sort of bastard child of, uh, the Cucu Cucu apocalypse, um, which we will never speak of.

Cult Member: Uh, but the heroes of Cumberland are great.

Elf: I think that was Maxwell's project. Uh, just beautiful characters, basically food themed universe characters is what they were. Um, They were all great. Uh, the

Cult Member: ROS trading card game by Hoot.

Elf: Uh, another classic, um, I think that is still in development, but what we've seen so far has been great.

Cult Member: Um, moron Global and pretty much, I mean, pretty much

Elf: everything Moron Global does, especially with Nosferatu, aka Lil

Cult Member: Nas, uh, just.

Elf: Always excellent stuff coming out of that crew. Uh, they did the excellent fanny packs during the summer of Magic. Great, great t-shirts. Um,

Cult Member: just, you know, everything Moron Global

Elf: does.

I love, I mean, I, I could do a whole Wizard Wednesday on just what they're doing with, with Nosferatu. Um, maple, [00:45:00] uh, has done some really great things. Most, I think notably the, uh, the treasure box that he mailed out to everyone. Um, what a gift that was fantastic. And then of course, maple also did a really great compilation of, uh, all the hat colors, uh, that we talked about in Wizard Wednesday.

Um, another

Cult Member: personal favorite is, uh, the little ceramic elf

Elf: that Baren von Fancy

Cult Member: made for me, still sitting on my shelf, will always be sitting on my shelf.

Elf: Um, you know, it, it makes me want to pick up, uh, uh, ceramics myself. Just a beautiful little piece.

Cult Member: Um, Tabitha of the marsh. A k a cursor, hol cur haa or whatever, I don't dunno how to pronounce, say your name, uh, translated the comic into German.

Um, what an amazing feat. Um, thank you so much. We're gonna get that on our website.

Elf: Um, but, but yeah, it was, it was

Cult Member: really well done. Uh, S P [00:46:00] z, uh, has been

Elf: so gracious all year is, uh, making bots for the discord.

Cult Member: Um, so many bots. So many bots. Oh, wow. And they're so fun. Um,

Elf: and yeah, I mean, sp z you're, you're the bot master, um,

Cult Member: the lob,

Elf: uh, by V mark, um, which is basically like, sort of a 3D special mapping of, uh, the book

Cult Member: of lore.

Um, slim, uh, did, uh, the, what do we call 'em? The blue stickman? The blue stick mans?

Elf: The blue stick. Oh, those are great. Yeah.

Cult Member: I, uh, I briefly even used one as my P f P, um, crucifer, uh, with his hail, hail drac,

Elf: uh, comic collection, uh, included wizards in, uh, one or a few of the issues.

Cult Member: Um, a really great crossover there.

Uh, and then, um,

Elf: that song, okay. That, that chimera [00:47:00] song that Lor, punk and Spz made, oh my god.

Cult Member: I think it gave everybody goosebumps when they played it. Um, freaking phenomenal. Uh, bam, bam, reading the entire book of lore.

Elf: So funny. A herculean task that has been unmatched since. Um, you know, I mean, how amazing was that?

Bam. Bam. Reading the entire book of lore.

Cult Member: Um, Kel, uh, who gives a Wizard Wednesday summary

Elf: every week on Twitter. If you're not, uh, reading Kelly's excellent wizard Wednesday threads.

Cult Member: What are you doing? Um,

Elf: TV's forgotten market. Uh, you know, th this is something I think we need to definitely put more front, front and center, uh, the forgotten market.

It's, it's really well designed. Um, it's just, just an amazing tool.

Cult Member: Um, Merlin's, n f t world's

Elf: basically recreating [00:48:00] the entire fricking collection in Minecraft style. Uh, you know, Merlin is one of those wizards who we just can't say enough good things about. Um, acid

Dotta: eater did costumes for Halloween Wizard

Bearsnake: costumes.

I loved the costumes they were, yes.

Cult Member: So cute. Yes. Yes.

Elf: Yeah. The, the, the Halloween costumes were fantastic. Um, the doll wizards, uh, are, are fantastic. The

Cult Member: noun wizard walk cycles. Who did the noun? Was that

Elf: sweet? Who did those? I think so. Sweet bread. Yeah. Yeah,

Cult Member: yeah, yeah. So good. Um, okay, so those are the community projects that I, I thought of just

Elf: off the top of my head.

And now I just wanna give, uh, a shout out, uh, in the last 10 minutes to some just individual product projects that really, and, and,

Dotta: and by the way, if you're listening to this and you're like, oh, you obviously forgot, you know, X, Y, and Z, like, of course we did, because there's too many. Yeah. So [00:49:00] I wanna make like a graphic in a tweet storm, uh, this week where I like highlight all of these projects.

So paste in discord, if you're listening and you remember ones that I forgot, paste in discord, um, any sort of ecosystem, whether it's 22 or 21, well, as well, like cult content ecosystem like projects. I'm gonna tweet about it this week. So, yeah, lemme know. Yeah,

Elf: I. Definitely neglected a bunch of stuff. And, and maybe I'm gonna say it in this next section, but yeah.

The, the univer is growing at as an expert exponential rate, and I am, but a human, uh, I can't recall all of it, and that's what I love about it. Um,

Cult Member: but yeah, so speaking of Intuit

Elf: individual projects, uh, the Book of lore has over 4,000 entries. Um, and, and you know, I say that, but it's more impressive than just the number.

It's, uh, the, the quality and the creativity expressed in the book of lore is some of the most, it's one of the most incredible corners of the internet, I think, uh, ever. And, and it's still sort of undiscovered by like the mainstream, I guess. [00:50:00] Um, because, you know, I, I often find myself flipping through the book of lore and just being astonished at the creativity that goes into these pages.

Um, I, I've really noticed a sort of marked shift in, in the style and the tenor, uh, in the formats that these entries are taking. Uh, because in the beginning, most of these entries really sort of, They seem to, to be more or less standard prosaic narrative narratives that were supplemented with imagery.

But, but now I'm seeing an, an uptick in more experimental formats. Um, and, and the creativity that's being expressed is, is not just in the content of the stories, but in the techniques and the forms as well. Um, and I just, I have no doubt that someday the, uh, when the mainstream stumbles upon this tome, uh, they're, they're just gonna have their minds blown.

Um, You know, the history of the internet is filled with these events, uh, of, of like the mainstream, stumbling upon some hidden gem on the internet, some obscure flame, more on a [00:51:00] message board, or some bizarre unexplainable website, or some obtrusive in joke or meme, or some niche aesthetic, some esoteric W wiki, some dark web horror or some, a subculture within a subculture thriving in the hinterlands of the internet.

Um, and I think when the mainstream finds the book of lore, uh, the world is just gonna be shocked that this has been happening right under their noses. Um, because. You know, w when you find things like this, it just sort of warps the reality that you once knew. You, you think you finally understand the way the world works, and then you take a wrong fork in the road and you stumble onto a cult of wizards dancing naked in the woods.

Um, and so I think when the mainstream finds the book of lore, they're gonna find th this, this creative output of some of the most remarkable cult members. Who am I talking about? I'm talking about someone like Tad Major, who just does these amazing animations nonstop, all year long. Every time I see a new one, it distorts my [00:52:00] reality.

I think, man, I can't believe I almost missed this. I, I, I'm, I'm talking about people like Daniela Ira, who just constantly

Cult Member: puts out quality sketches

Elf: that I'm seeing all over Twitter every week. Of Wizard and Warrior content.

Cult Member: I'm, I'm talking about

Elf: Tanya Del Rio's comics and, and, and just so many other things that Tanya makes.

She's, she's just like a creative powerhouse that's just constantly making beautiful things. I saw today she's, she's got a new project called like, I think the Can is Coven.

Cult Member: Yeah, the Can is Coven. Oh, mind blowing. I can't wait to see what happens with that. Oh, we didn't

Elf: even mention

Dotta: Loxley Above.

Elf: Did we mention?

Oh, I did. I did. Yeah. You

Dotta: did? Okay. Yeah. Canice Coven is amazing. When I saw that, I, when I saw the Canice Coven logo, I was like, wait, is this a new N F T project? And I'm like, oh no,

Elf: this is Tony. This is amazing.

Cult Member: Yeah, no, and we just, we have so many like, just like

Elf: generalized creative powerhouses in our cult.

Like we mentioned acid eater. Acid eater is always just putting out just [00:53:00] amazing stuff. We've got Wise Sam, who just like every week is doing some new style, new meme, new new, like take on on the universe. It just blows my mind. The stuff out of Wise Sam, we've got,

Cult Member: Freaking Oz and Ma friends who just like Oz, it's, he's

Elf: like a cult favorite.

He's, he's always doing new styles, new new pieces of artwork. He's been going nonstop for over a year. We've got Color Master and Color Master Studios who just did that amazing Crew Christmas card with Tad Major. Um, always good stuff. We've got Shark

Cult Member: Child Chemical Imbalance, Chuck ta, shaman, Voth, Sammy and Baron Malevolent.

Tabitha of the marsh, LOR, punk, these, all of these people just constantly put

Elf: out

Cult Member: amazing, amazing stuff. And, and then, and then we've got a whole like crew of meme lords

Elf: who just bring the, the, the humor and, and the laughs and the lulls to the cult. We've got the one who rings Derek, the wizard, cosmic Birds, Emma with her [00:54:00] amazing movie

Cult Member: posters chart.

Shark Child's got a lot of good memes. Night Al

Elf: Birdman, oh my God. The, the, the videos that night Mal, night Owl Birdman does constantly

Cult Member: awesome. Two Crows Hen Boyd and of course

Elf: Chta Bob Chatta. Bob Chatta. Bob, how dare you? That's all I have to say. How dare you? I like it. So Bob, I'm on the Cucu apocalypse.

Dotta: No, there was like a solid three weeks this summer when there was nothing else going on. We just turned into like the forgotten Cucu dog cult.

Elf: Yeah. It was a cult within a cult. Yeah. Yeah. We, we even had to change, uh, wizard Wednesday if you were, if people were there for that one. Um, and then, yeah, we've, we've got, uh, a

Cult Member: Dr.

Slurp who, who

Elf: was always dropping amazing music. He did a really great, uh, live sort of live music event when he forged, uh, the, the heavens bass. Um, we've got, uh, you know, and, and that's, you know, that's just like the tip of the [00:55:00] iceberg for the Wizards cult. We've got some legendary

Cult Member: warriors who, who just, they don't stop.

Lyle attacker

Elf: of wizards. Oh my God. This, this is a legendary warrior, um, that just, that does not stop. Um, another favorite warrior that I've noticed is Joan Danger, the, the Warrior with a Shield. Only

Cult Member: Love Joan. Danger. Such a strong warrior.

Elf: Um, Maui has drawn a really, uh, a lot of great, uh, warriors, um, recently.

Um, and then, you know, there, there are some people who, who I can't really categorize, uh,

Cult Member: like Sharon, who doesn't love

Elf: Sharon's story time. Are you kidding me? Oh,

Cult Member: like, we need, Sharon

Elf: needs to like record some bedtime stories to help me sleep at night. I mean, Sharon is probably, uh, the best storyteller we, we've got in the cult, uh, hands down.

Um, We've got, uh, the poetry, the constant [00:56:00] poetic flow from Lor,

Cult Member: punk, LOR Punk, uh, sings. She makes music, she makes poems. I mean, LOR Punk is an all-star.

Elf: Yeah, it's been with us basically since day one, since the beginning. And

Dotta: I've said this before, really. There was, there was like one moment when I knew that like we had something special was when, uh, lo Punk replied to the, the, the, the, the, the crow.

Um, Claire's Crow with a poem. And I went and I told Ms. Doda and I was like, can you believe this? Someone replied with a poem. They wrote a poem. Yeah. And then I remember when we did Wizard Wednesday and it was like, I, I told my friends, I was like, oh yeah, we're gonna do a poetry reading on our Twitter space.

And it was, felt so novel because like nobody else had ever done that. No N F T project had held a poetry reading on Twitter spaces and like now we do it whatever all the time. And then the second time that I knew that Laura Punk had had brought something special was when she, um, just sang acapella.

She's just like, yeah, I'll just get on here in front of 200 people. I'm like, just sing a song I wrote and I just, yes, [00:57:00] this is magic. So thank you Laura Punk for always bringing magic,

Elf: truly, truly. No doubt. Um,

Cult Member: and then I also want to give a shout out to the mods in our discord, uh, without you, like the

Elf: discord would not be what it is.

Um, yeah. The, uh, jitsu y

Cult Member: Sam o matto and the one who rings

Elf: you guys, uh, are really just a core piece of the community. Um, so I mean, well done guys. And, and you know, I think that

Cult Member: might be all I have on my list. Um, I know there are so many more people, Zales Soul, always

Elf: making ox awesome contributions. Um, damn it.

I, I know that people, I know there

Dotta: are so many. There

Elf: are so many. Yeah. Yeah. It's, uh, the cult is enormous.

Dotta: Yeah. Paste in the discord too. Anybody who you think of that we missed and, um, because we'll have to go through these again. Yeah. And follow up, so

Elf: Yeah. Yep, yep. But yeah, [00:58:00] I mean that's, you know, I think, uh, 2022 was just a fantastic year.

Incredible. Um, we are not slowing down. Uh, we're hitting the ground running for 2023. Um, we've got big plans, uh, perhaps next Wizard Wednesday. We can sort of, uh, hint at what we're gonna do. Um, but yeah, that's, I think that's all for me. Yeah, we're putting

Dotta: together our roadmap. Um, you know, I don't know that we'll have kind of like the official roadmap done by next Wednesday and so far as like a lot of us are still traveling this week.

It might take a couple of weeks before we get it, but I think yeah, in January, um, we'll, we'll have a new roadmap out, um, uh, to talk about it. And I think, you know, for a lot of people that listen to Wizard Wednesday, it's not going to be particularly like shocking, right? It, there's no left hand turns. It's a lot of the things that we've, we've talked about that we want to do, um, already, and then a lot of things that we want to improve, um, both around, like the website, the book of law, law building tools, whatever.

I won't get into it now, but, um, but yeah, this has been an [00:59:00] incredible. Incredible year. I've been just so thankful to meet, um, so many of you and to become friends. And I, I really just consider so many of you just like such good friends. And

Elf: I'm, I'm,

Dotta: I am more excited than ever for all the things that we're gonna build together.

Uh, all the things that we're gonna build at Magic Machine for, for God ruins, but then all the things we're gonna build together, uh, a as the cult is just like the future is incredibly bright.

Elf: Yep.

Cult Member: Bear any, uh, final

Elf: words?

Bearsnake: Um, my mom just stopped punching me, um, and I'm still standing. No, I, I, I have like a bad connection for some reason.

Surprise, surprise. So I didn't wanna cut in, but, um, yeah, I, I I couldn't be happier. I, I, I love everyone at Magic Machine. I love the cult. Um, You know, and I'd say, uh, patience is a virtue, you know, um, it takes, it takes some, it takes some time, um, to build the, the kinds of things that we [01:00:00] want to build. So appreciate each and every one of you who are contributing and staying with us for this ride.

It's, uh, it's, it's just, it's, it's inspiring and, and I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm more excited than I have

Cult Member: ever

Elf: been. Uh, William, I noticed you came up, but we never gave you a, a moment.

Cult Member: Did you wanna add something? Yeah, I honestly, yeah. Yo, I left it as a comment. I was just gonna ask, um, if you guys had links to the, uh, the speech in Miami and, uh, I know you said the Ted Talk kind of got fucked up, but, um, the, uh, the, there was another speech after that, or I forget what it was.

Um, yeah. And yeah. Do you know anything if was the animated trailer? Yeah, if you had, if you had a link to the animated trailer too,

Bearsnake: that'd be dope. Oh gosh. Yeah, it's usually pinned to our Twitter. I think we may have changed it for the New Year announcement stuff.

Elf: Um, the, the trailer is pinned to my Twitter actually.

Um, the TED Talk, I have a video of, I'm probably not allowed to publish it, but maybe I can share it in [01:01:00] the Discord. Um, yeah. Do you have, you have like a script or something Right, because at

Dotta: least, at the very least you could re-record it and we could post something

Elf: you re-record. Yeah, we might do that. Um, and then as far as the Miami, uh, stage thing that I did bear, do you know if that's available

Cult Member: anywhere?

Bearsnake: You know what, I'll have to ask. Um, I'll have to ask around, but I'm, it was definitely recorded, so it's, it's living somewhere. Uh, so it was, it was part of Decentral Miami. Um, so we'll find it and we can post it for sure.

Cult Member: Alright. Awesome guys. Yeah, thank you. I just figured I'd watch him the free time, you

Bearsnake: know?

Thank you. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Check out the trailer. Awesome.

Cult Member: Yeah. Appreciate it. Yep. Uh, so even though, even though, uh, things may take a long time, we are still full throttle ahead on speed running the franchise. This has been Elf channeling out from the Quantum Downs[01:02:00]

with Snake and do

Elf: Gian everybody.
