Wizard Wednesday December 21st

=

Elf: [00:00:00] It's Wednesday, we're wizards, and today is SMUs. It's almost SMUs. It's the night before wsus. It's, it's maybe three nights before SMUs. But before I butcher this intro any longer, I, uh, I actually have a much better intro that I am going to, uh, outsource to the wizard, uh, leaf dojang. Um, who just posted this to Twitter today?

I'm just here. Here's the real intro was the night before Christmas in the depth of the realm, stinky Bitman was sniping A night with gold helm. The east charts were crumpled and thrown on the floor. They said we had bottomed. Then we wicked down some more. The babies were tired from working the farms and goblins slept soundly through their [00:01:00] screeching alarms.

Lochness and her kerchief jitsu and his cap trundled down to the bear cave for a long winter's nap. When all across CT there arose such dark chatter, I tabbed into brave to see what was the matter. In a new private window, the cult was building with speed, mixing, whimsy, and focus all content. No greed when what, to my wondering, eyes should appear.

Then the burning of wizards and forging golden gear. The smallest of flames, so lively and bright, grew taller and wider, bringing glow to the night, and a voice called forth from the brilliant beyond bringing all souls together. In unbreakable bond. Now green hats. Now brown hats such a life with the land now [00:02:00] ghouls.

Now zombies. How can death be so grand? On red? Hats? On white hats pushing power. Past truth. ONMs and alchemists brewing. Nightcaps of youth. From the top of the blood falls to the depths of the salt. Dash away. Dash away. Stash in the vault.

Channeling in from the quantum downs. This is elf, and joining me is, Soda and Bear Mary Msmith y'all.

Bearsnake: Hey, Mary SMUs to you guys.

Dotta: Apparently there's like a bingo card

Elf: for

Dotta: this episode, so I [00:03:00] think the three of us need to not look at it. Yeah. Uh oh

Elf: guys, we'll influence the results. You, you know what? I've noticed the cult drops like 20 bangers on Wednesday, right before Wizard Wednesday.

And I, I think they've figured out that if, if they do it right on Wednesday, there's there's more of a chance that we'll, we'll put it on the show. Um, but yeah, the, the, well, when you have

Dotta: a collaborative legendary, I guess that's the sort of thing that will happen. Wink, wink. I'm guessing that's on the

Elf: Bingo card.

Yeah, exactly. No, there's, there's been so many great things dropped today. Um, this, this, uh, this poem that I, that I just played, uh, from, I, I think it's pronounced leaf dojang. I, I don't know how to pronounce it, but, uh, it was in a collab with Po del Rio. Um, really well done. Uh, and then, uh, color Master, you guys, I think everybody just saw the, uh, the Christmas card that they dropped in collaboration with Tad Major.[00:04:00]

Bearsnake: Incredible, incredible. I

Dotta: meant it

Elf: mine. Yeah. Same. Yeah. It's, it's so good. I, you know, Let, let me, let me talk about the SMUs cards real quick. So we, uh, of course, magic Machine sent one out and, uh, we asked Tony to illustrate that, uh, maple put a SMUs card in, in the Maple box, also illustrated by Tanya. Um, the one who rings, I think is sending out cards.

And then at the last minute, uh, color Master from, uh, color Master Studios just dropped one. It's so fun. It's so good. Yeah. If, if you haven't seen it, please have a look at it. Uh, just the details of this card, um, they, they've got probably like 200 wizards and warriors in it. Uh, you know, you could stare at this thing for hours.

There's, there's stories in every little group of wizards that you look at. Um, and, and I'll tell you what's fun for [00:05:00] me now is like, I, I recognize people by their wizard or warrior, like I know who is who, like just looking at this card. Um, and yeah, I mean, gypsy was pointing out in, in the, in the, the magic machine discord, like how, like we, we, we saw like bread fishing in a, uh, a little stream.

I love, uh, like how, how I'm sitting in, in the, in the right hand window with like all the, all the darker wizards panics at the head of the table, and then you and Baren Jitsu are like playing video games in another room.

Dotta: Uh, where did you find the high res version of this card? I minted it, but all I, I guess I need to zoom in.

I need a Zoomy version.

Elf: Well, IM, I'm just looking at the one on Open see, and then I just use the uh Okay. Yeah, the Zoom in feature in the web browser.

Dotta: Oh, amazing. I love it. It's

Elf: so beautiful. Yeah, there's so many fun little details. Uh, well done. Color Master and, and [00:06:00] Tad, you know, I, I also love, uh, just the name Color Master Studios.

Um, I didn't even know that was a thing until today. Um, but it, it actually reminds me of one of my favorite words, uh, Technicolor, uh, which is a word reminiscent of early film studios. Um, it's a word I love so much. I even put it in the collection. Uh, so, so that's so much fun. Well done. Color Master. Um, anyway, we've got a, it really does look like a family portrait, right?

Dotta: It's like, yeah, I see what you're saying. Now you look at this and like, I don't see just like random heads and bodies. It's like I see particular people. It's like, oh, there's jitsu, there's Ando, there's Wise Sam, there's panico. Like

Elf: there's two crows. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. It's, uh, Um, it's amazing how recognizable these characters have become.

Um, but yeah, we've, uh, we've got a huge show today. Um, things I want to go over, I want to talk about the, the [00:07:00] ledger thing that we did recently. Uh, we've got some updates from the Black Sands pony racing. Uh, we've got a big handful of cult questions. Um, Doda is gonna do a little segment on Defi, and then later I want to talk about, uh, probably my favorite thing about the cult.

Um, oh, and then we also have a, a, an update Me. Uh, no, it's not you. Bear, bear. Oh, but speaking of bear, another thing, uh, today is Bear's birthday. Happy birthday bear. Happy

Cult Member: birthday.

Bearsnake: Oh, shocks. Thanks.

Dotta: God.

Elf: You live in a bear.

Bearsnake: Maybe eventually, maybe, maybe eventually I'll live in a shoe. We'll see. Hopefully not. Yeah. Uh, anyway, uh, yeah, I'm not a big birthday guy, but, uh, you know, geez, to have it land on Wizard Wednesday, I, uh, it's, it's pretty nice. And I love everyone here. I love everybody on the team. It's the [00:08:00] best thing I've ever been a part of.

So happy.

Elf: Yep. Yep. We, uh, donor and I say all the time that, uh, we would've been lost without you bear. We probably would've probably would've rubbed seven months ago.

Dotta: So,

Bearsnake: been forced from No. Yeah. I mean, yeah. No, I remember when I first started they were like, let's just rug these mofos. And I was like, guys, who can't do that?

That, no, that did not

Elf: Kidding Principles.

Dotta: That's not the Bear Snake way. Ok.

Cult Member: I'm joking. I'm joking. Never. Yep.

Elf: Um, but, but yeah. Uh, so yeah. Uh, happy Birthday, bear Snake. Um, and then yeah, finally, or, or we're actually next, uh, we've got, we've got some updates from, uh, the Universe team. Uh, the Univer game. Um, and actually let me, let me invite them up real quick.

Um, and while they're coming up, uh, I noticed that, uh, the, the tariff most terrifying warrior in the univer al has, uh, ended up on [00:09:00] stage. Bilal. Is, is there anything you wanna scream at us about?

Perfect. Perfect. Yeah. Blo, please stick around. Um, your input is always welcome. Uh,

Bearsnake: blo come out and come out and hang out with me on my birthday. You can sleep over. That

Dotta: wouldn't be weird.

Elf: Sounds like you want some nightmares on your birthday. I know

Bearsnake: my children will not be the same.

Elf: Um, but, uh, yeah.

Forgotten. Uh, welcome to Wizard Wednesday. Hello? Hello? Can you guys hear me? Hello? Yes. Yes.

Cult Member: Perfect. Perfect.

Elf: Uh, hi. Hello. Always a plan. Hi, how, how's everyone? We are great, Mary. Nice,

Cult Member: nice, nice. Um,

Elf: so I know where you want me to begin.

Cult Member: Um, I got some [00:10:00] ideas, but I was wondering if, like, I felt like it would be better if we started with like, uh, having like a conversation about your experience with it

Elf: and we can go from there.

Sure. Yeah. Uh, I think my first question is, uh, can you give the exact date and time that, uh, the Universe game will launch? Uh, I'm joking, joking. No, you don't have to answer that. No, I actually, here let me, let me, let me, lemme reset. Uh, so yesterday a lot of the Magic Machine team, uh, played, um, the latest version of the Universe game.

Um, we just went over a lot of stuff, uh, with the by Sonic team. Um, we saw a lot of promising things, a lot of things that still need some work, obviously. Um, but yeah, I mean, I don't know. I, I guess we just thought it would be a good idea for you to come on and give us just some general updates. Okay. So,

Cult Member: uh, what the team and I wanted to do for like the end of the year is we [00:11:00] wanted to push for an alpha build.

That was playable and that would showcase some of the basic systems in the game. Yep. Right. And um, so basically we pushed for having a build that is, is the build that you played, and it's like a very yearly testing build. But I think it showcases like the main core loop of the game and it gives you a hint of what it's gonna feel like.

Right. Like the places where we can improve and like our goal with it was Yeah. To have like basically the magic machine team and like early Yeah. Like hoping to bring people next year, like wizard holders, right. People that are active in the community, like the people that are more involved with the community to be able to test the game, uh, with us and for us.

Right. And give us feedback. And that, that was like the, the key idea for this build. Um, and it's like a build that. I think there's something fun with it is that because there's no first time user experience, there's still a lot of player feedback indications that are missing. [00:12:00] It might be a little overwhelming at first, but like, uh, players have as they slowly learn, like the little minutiae they start to play.

And like I saw that it was, I think it was wiz that wa was, that was like level nine already. And, and I think that's very promising, right? Like the fact that we had some of the people in the level design team play test, like to build these men for players to go up to level 15, right? Like most of the level design team, by the end of last build were already level 15 crafting items, creating things.

And I think that's a promising, like a very promising thing about where like, where the game is headed. I, we feel like the game looks very nice. Like the, like there are a lot of things to improve, but I feel like it gives you like a very good sense of where it's going. And I feel like many people here listening are probably wizard holders and I'm pretty sure they'll get, be able to play tests.

Some in, in January. Right. What we wanna have is like, um, with the early feedback from the Magic Machine team, we wanna have like [00:13:00] polish a couple of details and then basically have holders and people go into the build again. Right. And so Bill, that will be updating across January because what we want is to have like a very polished version of these early experience first.

Elf: Yep, yep. Definitely. Um, yeah, uh, yeah, I mean, I, I don't really know what else to say. It, it was, it was definitely, uh, a very inter interesting experience. I mean, I, I think my favorite thing about it was, uh, just the art, uh, the, the art team is just really just hitting it out of the park with, with this, especially like the monster designs and the animation.

So much fun.

Bearsnake: Can we just roll it back? Cause I don't even know if we gave like full context. Um, uh, you know, with this alpha build that Sunil was talking about, they get on the phone. Uh, yesterday on the Big Zoom and everybody on the team, or most people on the Magic Machine team get on there and we get to like, walk through like [00:14:00] signing in, creating an account, uh, and then like walking around not as our own wizards as like, you know, sort of built wizards.

But anyway, like the experience of of of like logging into this game that you all have been working on and that we've been collaborating on was just really cool. You know? And I know that there's still a ways to go, but, um, just like hats off to the entire by Sonic team, it's, this is not, you know, it's not for the fan of heart to like jump in and be like, yeah, the first game we're gonna make is, uh, and is an M M O R P G.

Like that is a huge undertaking. So it was just really cool to to, to be able to even have it, uh, at the stage. It's already at.

Cult Member: Yeah. Um, well, okay, so, um, lemme do like a quick run through of what's in the alpha build and what's not. I think, I think that's nice for, for the people that are listening for. So basically what we wanted was players to like the beginning.

You can create an account, um, and then you get to create a wizard, right? So how that's gonna work is that we're gonna have like players, like players who are not owners [00:15:00] will create their own generic wizard and owners will be able to create the generic wizard that is connected to, um, to their original 10 K wizard, right?

And so players at any times will be able to sh cycle between like the in-game look, the traditional character look and they're special. 10 K Wizard, um, character, but we wanted to showcase what it would be like to like a new player entering the game. Um, and after that, um, what we have is you go into the game and there's Alberto, which is like a tutorial character who presents you with a lot of tutorials about like the different systems and the systems.

The basic systems in this Alpha Build are gathering. You can go out into the wild and gather materials, and that's gonna be expanded upon for plot owners. There's gonna be like, um, a lot of interest moving forward for plot owners to understand how gathering works, right? Like how it's gonna benefit them and how it's gonna be benefit the overall game economy.

Um, and we have then you have combat. You [00:16:00] can go, like you can party up with with other players. You can go into combat with them. And I think something that's very nice about this is like, You, even though it's an alpha built, you still, like, you already get the feel of a, of an mm o, right? Like you can party up with players, you can play some PVP with other players.

You can go into combat with them. You can craft with them. And I feel like it, it gives us a sense of what's gonna feel like building community here. Um, and, and I, and that's what we pushed for, right? Like what we pushed for was having a game that really conveys like the feeling of an mm m o from the get-go, from the early bills.

And I think what we're very eager for is to see like what, what the community thinks, right? Like what wizard holders and like the thirst people who tested, uh, were working hard on getting additional player feedback so that whenever somebody plays, it's like, okay, okay. Everything is very clear. The mechanics are very clear and that's what we're pushing for with the updates of this build.

Elf: [00:17:00] Amazing. Um, it looks like, uh, Zel Soul maybe has a question. Zay, what's up?

Cult Member: Hey, how's it

Elf: going guys? It's been a while since I've

Cult Member: been up here. Yeah.

Elf: Hey,

Bearsnake: um, I have a question for the by Sonic team. Um, I was wondering, is there any way to sign our wizard or Warrior up to be like an MPC to hand out quests or anything

Dotta: like that?

Okay, so

Cult Member: this is very interesting. This is the other thing that I wanted to talk about, and it's what we're aiming for in terms of lower in the game. And it's that, um, we've decided to set up the game, uh, the Universe game. It's a thousand years, uh, more so kind of a thousand years, uh, in the future of like the TV show when like the starting like, um, The starting the original story ip.

Right? And the reason we did this is because we needed some ways to really justify the [00:18:00] fact that there are more wizard, that there's more magic. And so like the basics of the lore is that the wizards are returning. And what we wanna do is basically there are rifts in the world that are gonna open, and these rifts, uh, bring stories from the past with them.

And so I think what we're aiming for is to using that, like, that concept to bring either, um, to either bring, um, NPCs, right? Or bringing a story into the game. Maybe, I don't know. Somebody wrote, um, in the lower book, wrote a very cool story with a cool setting that we can integrate into the game. And that's our plan, basically, right?

Like our plan is to have a game that like whenever we can brings these stories back. Um, and there's, there's still a lot of uncertainty, so I, I can't promise like it's gonna work exactly like that, right? Because it still depends on how we handle it with the team and how we manage certain things. But like the plan is that whenever these rifs [00:19:00] open, like we can bring yeah.

Uh, 10 cases NPCs, right? We can bring short stories into the game as like a dungeon or a special setting. And that's our plan moving forward, right? Because we cannot integrate everything that's being written because it's simply overwhelming. But we did find a cool way to integrate those stories lower wise into the whole universe of the game.

Elf: Awesome. Awesome. Thank you. If, if anyone else has any questions, please come up and come up and ask. Um, but yeah, I, I don't know. Is, uh, is there anything else you, you wanna say Tan? Um, no, I think it's more

Cult Member: if, if people wanted to ask questions, like I'm here more, like I can give you a little bit more detail on, on what our plans for the next year are, which I think is very interesting as well.

Yeah, for sure. Um, so basically our plan for the next year, um, I won't give out dates because production's gonna kill me, right? And [00:20:00] there's always a bit of uncertainty in that regard. But like, our plan for next year, um, is that by the end of the year we would have an open beta, right? And the steps before that is we wanna release a white paper that basically explains the economy of the game, right?

For non plot owners, for non NFT owners, for NFT owners. Uh, and that like, people can get a feel of what we decided from a, from a game design perspective on game economy, right? This is something important to me, um, because when people talk about NFT games, economies, I feel like what we didn't want was a system where, You were playing because of the NFTs, right?

Like what we wanted was a system where you were playing. It's a fun game and it has NFTs as a premium to like power up player ownership, right? And I think we've come up with like a very clean solution to certain of certain issues that NFT games might have in terms of inner economic flow [00:21:00] inside the game.

And that white paper we hope is gonna answer all or most of the questions, right? And give a very clear picture of, of what the game is gonna be in terms of economic flows. Uh, then we have a community mint. And the idea for this is, um, we want players to be able to hop in into supporting the game early.

Um, that will give them additional benefits and that will go hand in hand with like land sales, uh, mints, right? Because that, like, that part of owning plots and building inside the game is very important for us. And then we're aiming for. Having a closed beta, and that's gonna be for all of the 10 k um, owners, people who own warriors, right?

Like we want to get the early community involved. Um, then we go into a large public land and then we go into the open beta. Um, so ba basically what we're aiming for that close beta, beta is like for people to truly experience the world. Like, uh, when you guys played the alpha, the alpha was a [00:22:00] very contained experience.

What we had was like three small player areas and six enemy areas, and that was very limited, right? And what we want for that, uh, close beta is like to have players be able to travel around the world, like go from city to city. Um, and we'll try to get as many cities as we can in the game, right? Like we want people to be able to go into the red city, the yellow city, and that's what we're aiming for.

At least like those, the blue capital, the red capital, um, the yellow capital, and hopefully the green capital as well. So you'll be able to travel to those cities and explore the areas

Elf: around them. Fantastic. Um, I think the only question I have is have you built the swimming pool where all the wizards can swim with their hats on?

Has that been built yet? Um, that's, that's coming, um,

Cult Member: because it's actually, it's actually harder than you think because, um, because we're doing a web game, right. Um, we have some, some issues with the [00:23:00] rendering of layers, and so it's not as easy No.

Elf: As one wishes. I I got you wa water is kinda hard to do. I I, but like, it's actually something that we're

Cult Member: aiming for, like being able to go into water, like into shallow water and then being able to go into tall grass.

Right. So we're working on that. I

Elf: can't promise the pool yet, but it's coming. We cannot release any beta until the pool with wizards is, is finished. That is essential. That is like a, a mandate. Okay. I'll, I'll keep that in mind. Important. I'll keep that in mind.

Cult Member: Um, other things that I wanna say about the game?

No, I think I wanna say share some stories that I feel like talk about, like, um, there's something that's happened with the team that is very nice and has been very touching, and it's that when the game started, right? We're a team that's across the world, right? Like, we have people from, if I'm not mistaken, we have people from Philippines, India, Spain, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, [00:24:00] Colombia, Peru, uh, and the us uh, and Mexico, I think I forgot Mexico.

And it's like, it's a team from across the world, right? And I feel like when you start working on a, on an N F T game, right? Like there's this feeling, oh, like, oh, I'm doing an N F T game. It's kind of not a real game. Like there's something in the back of your head that says that. Sure. Um, and then I feel like what the team.

Had like the thing that happened was that everyone said like, okay, we're not making an N F T, we're making a cool game with N F T integration. Right. And I feel like there was a shift in the way that we were approaching the game and like the expectations for the game, right? Like I think we are making something that's really beautiful.

I remember that as one of the QA members. Like, okay, give me your honest. Experience with the game, right? And he said, like, when I started I was like, uh, very mad with the game, right? It was work. It was like, yeah, I have to QA test this, make sure there are no bugs. But like, as the game, as the alpha has progressed, it's like, oh, I really enjoy playing it.

Other players, [00:25:00] um, like the other QA members really like it. We enjoy playing this. Um, there's a QA that was for a while, but he had to leave because he, he got married and he's like, I wanna play it again. And I feel like that's very indicative of the fact that we have something. Beautiful

Elf: in our hands.

That is really interesting. I think that sentiment you just expressed is sort of industry-wide right now. Um, it's one of the things that all these, uh, blockchain games and metas are, are grappling with, which is, you know, we have to build a great game first. It's, you know, we don't need to think of this as a quote blockchain game.

It just, it needs to be a good game with a blockchain technology underneath. Um, so, you know, I I I love that, that the team has sort of come around to that. Yeah. And, and

Cult Member: to expand a little on that, that you said, um, one of the things that, uh, from a game design perspective I aimed at was making sure that the economy of the game wasn't built upon [00:26:00] crypto.

Right. And I think that's something that's very important because like the economy of the game is a self-sustained ecosystem. That, uh, like that has some support for like certain premium things in the blockchain that ensures player ownerships. But the economy of the game is like a sound thing that doesn't depend on NFTs and that doesn't depend on crypto.

And what that that allows us is to construct a game that is like a fun experience first, right? And then you move on into the next step, right? Which is like, okay, we got the fun game, right? How do we integrate NFTs into this? And, and it's something that we've talked about in, in by Sonic Ada, and it's like, how do we make sure that Yeah, like that the game is a good experience, right?

And I feel like that's a, a, been a very important thing for us.

Elf: Awesome. Um, cool. Well, yeah. Um, is, is, is, uh, is that about it to, or or anything else?

Cult Member: Yeah, no. If [00:27:00] anyone wants to ask some questions, has some doubts, like, I think it's always nice to answer community questions.

Elf: A hundred percent. Yep. Be able to say

Cult Member: like, oh yeah, what do you feel about this and that.

But if there's no questions, then I've got nothing more. Well maybe, maybe excite what's coming next year, because I think it's be, it'll be a lot of fun. Maybe

Bearsnake: stay on stage, um, and, you know, people can have the opportunity to come up, uh, for the remainder of the show. Okay.

Elf: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Please stick around.

Um, oh, there's Tad. Um,

Bearsnake: anyone but Tad?

Elf: Anyone? Yeah, that's a good point.

Just kidding. Tad, what's up? Hey, could you guys hear me okay? I'm not on wifi right now. Yeah, we got you. Yeah, no, we can hear you

Dotta: just fine. Yep. Hey, um, clear.

Elf: Actually, I had a, a question about the game. Um, I didn't get to play in the, the early release, and I know you said probably in January we would maybe have an alpha where we could play through.

Um, but I was wondering if it would be [00:28:00] possible to have, uh, some of the art assets loaded up somewhere, like the backgrounds and scenes and things like that. Uh, so some of us could start using that in creation and meme making and uh, that kind of stuff.

Bearsnake: I love that idea so

Cult Member: much. I, I love that idea, but I don't know, like, because it's like, here's where the things with like, I need to talk to marketing and stuff.

Right? Because, because I have to make sure that I don't screw up by saying something that's not, that's

Bearsnake: not right. Well, why don't we just, why don't we, why don't we say we'll get back to, we'll get back to you, Ted. How about

Cult Member: that? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I, I

Elf: accept it. That's, that's fine. Just, uh, just putting your, the bug in your ear that, uh, I think, uh, grab a lot of people in the cult that are already making things that we could just start doing crossovers straight away.

Cult Member: Yeah. And let me like, yeah. What, what Bear said right.

Elf: Sounds good. Um, Matto, did you have something?[00:29:00]

Oh no, I was coming up cuz I was reading through the discourse. See if there's any questions that needs to be answered from there. But, um, there's nothing that I can see straight up. If anybody has any questions that they feel like they need, you can feel free to ping me. I, I think I didn't, I didn't miss any, but yeah, Matt Mattos actually a really good resource for game questions as well.

Um, yeah. And then, uh, young, did you have a question?

Yeah. So, uh, first of all, I wanna say it's awesome that you're waiting, you know, to figure out, um, all the aspects of the game. Uh, I also have to give an honorary scree, uh, out, you know, it's very important. Um, but, uh, so, so like, I mean obviously it's kind of vague and stuff, but like, so what exactly is the connection between the forgotten realms and the battle for Goblin Town?

Are they like at war with each other or something? No, the these games are not really connected at all. Um, I mean to, to the extent that they are, like the, the [00:30:00] Universe game will have, uh, probably, I might be speaking out of turn, but Goblin Town will be in it. Uh, and when I say Goblin Town, I mean like, uh, the, uh, quote fictional world of Goblin town, but the Goblin town game that Magic Machine is building is an entirely separate game, not connected to the universe game.

Yeah, so you can think

Dotta: of like, the Goldman town game that we're doing is, uh, more like limited kind of on chain crypto board game. So it's uh, a lot like, sort of like, uh, settlers of Catan meets Wolf game, right? So it's this like very like, uh, crypto native, like very much like play to earn almost like a board game, uh, like a degen game that that will launch probably in January, late January.

Um, that, you know, like these games do, it'll have kind of, its like realm of influence. Um, whereas the Universe game is a totally [00:31:00] separate game. So the, the, the Universe game is, is going to be this like much larger mm. M O R P G, uh, that, that, that, that has both, like all of the, you know, wizards in it as playable characters, but then as well as like other people who can come and, you know, you develop your character and harvest resources and, and craft, uh, structures on your property and battle monsters, that sort of thing.

So it's more of like, I don't wanna say traditional, but it's like more of a traditional like video game, uh, with crypto backed ownership. Uh, whereas the Golin town game is more of like a PVP board game.

Elf: All right. That's awesome. Thanks.

Cult Member: Yeah, sure. And, and to add to that, well, when I was saying that like the game, like the universe, mm, m o takes place, uh, a thousand years into the future, I feel like you'll probably see nuts and references to gov, the Battle of Golin Town for Goblin Town.

But like, it's so far apart in terms of like the chronology of the game that what it would be like, nuts and stuff like that. That's Epic.

Elf: Zay, you've got your hand up. [00:32:00] Yeah,

Bearsnake: I'm

Elf: super conflicted. Um, should, okay. Would it be wiser to,

Bearsnake: like,

Elf: would

Bearsnake: it be better to buy the ledger and receive the airdrop or just spend 0.123 eth on endgame resources?

Elf: Oh, well, are, are you talking about the, uh, the ledger thing that we just released with the Sacred Tea Master? Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, man, I'm, ah, man. I wanna get, I'm so conflicted. Okay. Okay. Well, yeah, listen, this is a good pivot. Let's, let's pivot into this, um, cause I wanna talk about the ledger thing we just did.

Um, I don't know if this will help you answer your question, Zay, but let, let's jump into it. So first of all, um, this is a collaboration that, uh, bear Snake opened up for her for us. Uh, he is the wizard who opens doors, um, and he just sort of brought this to us outta nowhere one day, uh, which I think is very exciting.

Um, the only other, uh, [00:33:00] NF t project I've seen who's collabed with Ledger currently is, uh, dead Fellows. Um, I dunno, bear is, is there any other NF t projects that have done this?

Bearsnake: Um, Jen Stark, who's more of like a one of one, although she's done some Jen Art. So Jen Stark has done something. Mm-hmm. Uh, but like from like a P F P standpoint?

No, it's like, it's, it's, it's us and Dead Fellows.

Elf: Great. Yeah. So, so like, you know, I mean, we thought this was fun. A really fun way to just sort of, uh, get forgotten rooms out there to expand the brand to, uh, to build out the franchise. And, you know, the first question when, when this, uh, project opened up was, uh, okay, what are we going to put on the, on the ledger?

Uh, what kind of artwork are we, we gonna put on there? And we, we threw around a lot of ideas and I really wanted to put the key master on there and, uh, let, let me break down why. So first of all, what is a ledger? It is a, uh, it's a crypto key. Um, it's, [00:34:00] uh, it's, uh, it's a, it's a sacred key, in fact. Um, and as we all know, the, uh, sacred key master is one who holds a sacred key.

Uh, secondly, there is some really fun, uh, uh, sort of. Uh, motif iconography happening right here. So you think about what crypt cryptocurrency is, it's a, uh, it's an alternative to fiat currency. What's the fiat currency that most of us, and in fact, the world, uh, interacts with the most, the US dollar, what is on the US dollar?

The eye of providence, the fucking key master is actually sitting on the US dollar. And so I wanted to put the key master on this ledger, sacred key. Um, it's, there's just a really great quantum synchronicity there. Uh, and then finally, um, you know, I've, I've been observing the crypto community for years and, and one feature that I see a lot is that for better or for worse, the crypto community is kind of [00:35:00] conspiracy minded, um, for better or for worse, and, Uh, the, you know, a lot of conspiracies come back to the Illuminati, that, that symbol the, the eye of Providence, the, the eye on the pyramid.

Um, and I, you know, one thing that Bear really said was important about this ledger key is that it, it should appeal to people who are not in the cult. It should go beyond the cult. If you come to the Ledger website and you see it and you don't know what forgotten rooms is, you still wanna buy it. So, you know, I was just trying to appeal to that sort of like, conspiracy minded feature of the crypto community at large.

Um, and so of course the Sacred Key Master speaks to that. And so those were the three reasons I really wanted to put him on there. Uh, but yeah, I, I think the artwork turned out really awesome. Yeah. I love it.

Dotta: Yeah.

Bearsnake: Did you already mention that, um, Riley Brown did the, did the illustration of

Elf: the keynote. I did not.

[00:36:00] So, yeah. Uh, Riley Brown, um, the guy who was illustrating our comic, uh, as if he wasn't bit too busy already, uh, he was gracious enough to fit this illustration in. Um, and, uh, yeah, I think it just turned out great.

Bearsnake: And I, I just said it in the tower, but I, I just love, I love like the, the connection that you made, um, like the reasoning behind why we chose the, uh, the key master.

Um, I just think it makes a ton of sense, and I think you got to add some of that copy onto the right on, uh, on, on their, you know, on the, on the mint page. Yep. Yep,

Cult Member: yep,

Elf: yep. I, uh, I didn't wanna explain it all too on the nose, but I definitely wanted to draw the connection between the crypto key and the sacred key.

Uh,

Bearsnake: yeah. But, oh, lastly, just, just to answer zays questions. Sorry, sorry, sorry, Al. Yeah, just to, just to answer your, your question directly, Uh, as best as possible. I think the answer it, and Dota, maybe you can chime in a little bit. Yeah. [00:37:00] Uh, it's, I, I think it's, it's hard to, we, we don't know what, like the math is behind, like the, the, the resources that get air dropped when you purchased the ledger.

Um, and, and sort of, and how to compare it. Is that fair to say Doda at this exact

Dotta: moment? Yeah, exactly. I think one, we haven't calculated the, uh, the scale of the airdrops in general. We'll have to balance that with the whole economy when we do the game. Right. I mean, I think one of the things with the airdrop that you're always balancing is like, People who are here and involved want to feel, um, kind of like rewarded for their holdings.

While at the same time, a really important thing for this game to work for everyone and even to make those holdings like more useful is for other people outside of just like, you know, the a hundred of us that are here to play this game. And so, um, if, and, and if you airdrop too much and everybody thinks like, oh, I'm way [00:38:00] too behind.

I'm like, not even gonna play. You know, so, so it's always, you're always kinda like playing that balance. Um, I would think that if you are a wizard holder already, um, I wouldn't, well, the other, the other unknown is really just like, I don't, you know, I don't, I'm not really thinking much at all about how the marketplace is going to kind of, uh, value these tokens, right?

Like really this goblin town game is more, is just something fun that I've wanted to build for forever. So like, I'm not like, How, how do you say like, oh, is the 0.123 E for the ledger, worth it for the airdrop? And I'm like, I, I have no idea. I don't know what the market's gonna like value kind of goblin town tokens at, I'm not like trying to engineer anything there.

So, um, I guess what I would say is like, if you're a wizard holder already, I wouldn't buy the ledger just for the goblin town airdrops insofar as like, you're already gonna get one at by nature of being a holder. So, um, yeah, but you know, the ledger's freaking cool and they're only gonna be limited [00:39:00] edition, so I think, you know, you should buy it if you, if you want a ledger with the key master

Elf: on it.

Um, yeah. And so the, the ledger thing was part of our, of our SMUs, uh, sort of event. Um, but I also wanted to mention, we actually have another SMUs treat in the works. Um, We have invited a special guest to dress up as the saint of SMUs. Uh, but he's being very stubborn at the moment. Um, stubborn, maybe a bit clumsy, maybe even a bit Gigas.

Um, but soon you will be able to get your last minute SMUs wishes in. Um, and so we are hoping to release this either tomorrow or the next

Dotta: day, just

Elf: depending on, uh, how strong we, we can, we can be with this, this particular person. Um, so yeah, I guess that's all I can really say right now about this last minute wisdom mistreat.[00:40:00]

Uh, unless Dotter Barry, do you have anything to say?

Dotta: It's gonna be fun. There's no token. It's just for fun.

Bearsnake: It's just for fun. And make and make sure that you know what to ask for. Yes, because, uh, You know, there will be responses to your requests.

Elf: Mm-hmm. Um, yeah. So, okay. I also wanna give some, uh, some quick updates on, uh, black Sands pony racing, everyone's favorite, uh, fa favorite horse, horse racing event in the universe.

Um, and so I, I talked with Legat today. Oh, sorry. Doda, did you wanna say something? Uh, no. No.

Dotta: Okay. Uh, you know, just, yeah. When you, when you go to SMUs, be ready for a sack of

Elf: presents. Um, wait, really? I thought, I thought, uh,

Dotta: No, sorry, it's just a bulge joke. It's Matt Suzuki's bulge joke. Oh,

Elf: are, are you referring responding to things in the, in the secret tower?

Yeah, [00:41:00] exactly. I've

Dotta: always

Elf: got the discord up. Okay. Alright. Um, yeah, yeah. Okay. I'm, I'm not paying attention to the secret tower at all. Uh, anyway, uh, black Sands Pony Racing, we have some very important events. Doda, you need to listen. Okay. Okay. I'm listening. Okay. So, first of all, I just wanna give a big shout out to, uh, munchkin, the tactical owned by Matt d Wrecker.

Uh, munchkin is currently in first place. Um, Munchkin looking real good. However, uh, munchkin is quickly followed by Queenie, the extraordinary, owned by Mala. And then currently in third place, we have Jellybean, the Brave, uh, owned by V Mark. Um, I learned that a fun new strategy in Black Sands, uh, is, uh, you can earn points by playing, uh, hoots Ros TCG card game.

Um, this was a brand new strategy introduced in the [00:42:00] Ether Cup. Uh, I'm also, uh, I also wanted to say, uh, that registration is currently open for the next race, uh, which will start on January 4th. Um, but the current race is still happening. And finally, probably the most important metric that I need to mention is that my own pony, uh, Willow, the wisp, the marvelous is, uh, is in 28th place.

Now, that may not sound very impressive, but you must consider that Do Dotas Pony, Josh the blind is in 51st place. He's blind. He's blind.

Okay. Okay. I mean, I don't know if that's a real good excuse somebody, somebody punched him. I couldn't believe it.

Bearsnake: Um, all I have to say is y'all are lucky. I haven't entered those races

Elf: yet.

Do. Donna is [00:43:00] always going to enter a blind, his blind pony, just so he has an excuse.

Bearsnake: I feel like we need to have separate races for ponies that may be. Don't have a, you know, a bit of a handicap. I think I'm step You've only got three legs. Yeah. I stopped in the middle of my sentence cause I realized I was going into woke territory.

Elf: Say something. Un-pc Yeah. Is being recorded. That's okay.

Um, but yeah, so I just wanted to give the updates for the Black Sands. That's the latest. Uh, congratulations to Munchkin, the tactical. You're doing really well. Very impressive. Uh, Josh, um, you know, we do live in a magical universe. I'm sure there's a cure. Cure for, for your blindness somewhere. Mm-hmm. Uh, but yeah.

And then also I just, I just wanted to drop some, some really valuable alpha real quick. Uh, in addition to playing, um, the, uh, the latest version of the Universe game, uh, our team was treated to another game. [00:44:00] I won't say what, but what I will say is, Go follow the Twitter account. Lox Lee's Oracle. Um, this is, this is some of the best alpha I can give right now.

Uh, highly recommended lox Lee's Oracle. Some really magical things happening over there. Some really mind blowing things, to be honest. Um, but yeah, that, that's all I'm gonna say for now. We will, we'll talk more about that in future, within Wednesdays. Um, okay. And then fi uh, next I wanna go over some cult questions.

Uh, man, time went by today real fast. We only have 15 minutes, so let me try to rapid fire these. Uh, nad is asking, uh, elf win a shout out on the channels, uh, and the discord, familiars and pets, music and food, uh, Nard. So I think the only reason you're asking this is because your dog soda is like the unofficial mascot, familiar of the entire universe.

I [00:45:00] mean, everybody at this point pretty much knows who Soda is. Am I right? Yeah. Um, yeah. So, but, but as, as far as other shout outs, you know, I, I, I know that another reason you may be asked is to try to get me to mention the most disgusting food in the universe, because I believe this is a, uh, one of the bingo, uh, card, um, things, uh, I'm not gonna say it.

I'm just not, I mean, barren Barr, Jody, you guys can say it, but I ain't gonna, I ain't gonna say it. No, no, I, I'm good. So,

Bearsnake: wait, not gonna say, not gonna say what

Elf: exactly, exactly the, yeah. Um, okay. And then I'll give you a

Dotta: hint. You don't want to drink the

Elf: juice. Yeah, for sure. So, yeah,

Bearsnake: not, I just have a question.

Is Bulge on the list? I hope Bulge was on the list. Well, if it

Elf: is, you just said. I don't think so. Um, okay. And then, then Bulge, bul, bulge. And then Slim is asking why does, does a person not drown when they breathe in [00:46:00] steam? Um, you do, do you please explain? Yeah. What?

Dotta: Well, yeah, like if it's, uh, well, maybe, actually I don't know what you have to define drowning.

Okay. So you know how they just found that cave that has like the really, really big crystals, right? They're like 50 foot crystals, like thicker than a human, right? Have you seen this? It's like in

Bearsnake: mixed, uh, what do you what? It's

Dotta: incredible. They found this cave where there's like, okay, imagine like a crystal, but like, it's like a bridge.

Like you walk across it like a bridge, but it's just like this massive crystal. And uh, the problem is, is that it's so hot down there and it's so steamy that when you breathe it in, you will die. I don't know if you call that drowning, right? Maybe you just die cuz it's too hot.

Bearsnake: Or maybe, or maybe there's like, Poisonous elements in, in the, the

Dotta: air.

Thank you. Thank you. Cosmic. Uh, night jar. Yeah. Uh, right. Maybe it's poison, but there is this new cave with like the most incredible crystals and you have to wear like a cooling [00:47:00] suit because otherwise you'll breathe in the steam and you'll drown. So, so this, that

Bearsnake: makes me think, this is a tangent. This makes me think of you, how you read how the, like all these like, like, uh, thousand year old, million year old viruses are like trapped in the polar caps and like as the ice melts, it's all sort of coming and then like, to make it worse, you have like scientists like.

Uh, grabbing them and like bringing them into, uh, into labs. It's not good. It's not good. I'd rather go, go die in the crystal dent than get a, you know, ice age mammoth virus.

Elf: Yeah. Yeah. Th Thanks a lot bear. Um, that was really uplifting for wisdom. I'm just trying that

Bearsnake: there, I'm just trying to make everybody realize how good

Elf: we have it, how important it's to build a new, new world.

Cuz this one's dead. Exactly. Uh, okay. Speaking of new world, uh, v Mark is asking today is the winter solstice. How do wizards spend it in the universe, [00:48:00] aka a what kinds of holidays are there? Uh, really fun question deserves about 30 minutes of explanation, but real quick, um, you know, so far we know that Halloween is definitely a, a holiday in the universe.

We know that SMUs is a holiday in the universe. Um, but to give a, a, a more comprehensive answer in about 20 seconds, uh, you know, again, the rno verse is a reflection of the real world. Um, the real world has countless holidays and countless cultures all over the world. Um, and I imagine the rno verse is very much the same way.

Um, you know, if I, if I could go just a little bit deeper, uh, You know, in the real world, we, we, uh, we have Christmas in certain countries, but even Christmas, the, the origins of Christmas are very much in debate. Um, it's, it's, it's expressed in many different ways all over the world. Um, and, and I think that's what's so beautiful about it and all other holidays is just, you know, every culture has a different take on, on every holiday.

And, uh, the universe, uh, does as [00:49:00] well. Um, uh, Emma is asking, are you planning anything big for next year in terms of lore? Not necessarily. More collections, could be anything. Um, yeah, I mean, the, the show is certainly making a lot of progress. Um, the comic is as well, um, You know, one big thing that I really wanna do is, is start making more YouTube videos.

In fact, we've got, we've got a little one coming out soon. Um, and, and I, I, I actually wanna, uh, make a video component, um, to, well, okay. Uh, maple Dad, uh, I'm, I'm sure you guys all saw, he, he compiled all the hat lore into one, uh, sound clip. Um, I want to add a video component to that. So, long story short, I, I wanna do more videos that sort of explain more and more.

Um, so that is something you can look forward to. Uh, do I don't know, Doug Bear, do you guys wanna say anything to, to that? [00:50:00] Uh, well, yeah.

Dotta: I mean, I think making more what

Elf: we're gonna do all, all the time. I don't think so. Yep. The, do you want to, uh, it's

Bearsnake: my birthday. I don't have to answer any questions. Yeah.

And I don't think that we have

Dotta: any more like, Updates on the show versus last week? Other than just like still making

Elf: progress. Yeah, I mean, as, as far as that goes, I'll tell you this, all of the entertainment industry shuts down at this time and it's impossible to move anything. So yeah, it might be a few more weeks before that Rams back up.

Um,

Bearsnake: I actually missed the question. I'm sorry. Cuz you guys cut out. What was the actual question that Emma had about entertainment? It's just like

Elf: anything big in

Dotta: terms of more, uh, for the next year. Hello?

Elf: Oh, that's Zay, I think. Let's mute him.

Bearsnake: What's going on? Hello Bear.

Elf: Can we get problems falling into that crystal cave chaos in the bear cave?

I'm just gonna move on. [00:51:00] Small protect, um, a small protect asked a really spicy question. It's, it's not really that spicy, but it's one that I, again, I would love to spend 20 more minutes on. Uh, he says, oh, let's do it. Why is the, yeah. He says, why is the devil represented by the goat? Uh, super fun question.

Um, let me, let me just spend a few minutes on that. So, uh, uh, let me rewind a bit. Night, Al Birdman was asking me to write some lore for my Wiz, like a month or two ago, and it's a thing that I want to do the most. I really just, I wanna develop my character so bad, um, but I'm you busy running magic machine.

Um, but let me, let me just give a quick description or speak to this just real quick. So, You know, I, the black goat is, is a very powerful symbol for me. Um, he sort of represents a, uh, a disruptive figure. Um, uh, it's, it's sort of an archetype that disrupts the sta the status quo. Um, and, and, and when you bring a paradigm shift, when [00:52:00] when you disrupt, uh, the old order is very quick to demonize that figure.

Um, the old order or the establishment does not want change. And why would they? Because they are currently sitting at the top of the, the current order, the current power structure. Uh, they do not want these black goats to lead the youth astray to. Sort of shed the trappings of, of oppression to, to escape the flock and dance naked in the woods.

This, this, to them is evil. Um, you know, you think about the feal, the feudal lords of, of the medieval times and how they, you know, they, they, they sort of want the youth shackled to indentured servitude, uh, like their parents. And, and they want the, they, they wanna in instill fear of this new world, uh, that is possible.

And so all I'm saying is that we, all of us can build this new world. We can build it together. Um, and so all I'm saying is, uh, join the Black Goat and I'll teach you some magic [00:53:00] tricks in the woods. Um, so that's my short answer. Maybe I'll, maybe I'll expand on that in the future Wizard Wednesday. Um, yeah, I

Dotta: think

Elf: that, like, I have thoughts here.

Oh, amazing. So, uh, I, I,

Dotta: yeah. Well, I think that like, I would guess one of the things that solidified the idea of the devil being associated with the goat would be like, Milton's Paradise lost. I don't actually know. Um, it'd be interesting to look up like how much earlier kind of like artistic representations of sort of the devil having horns, uh, is, is, is represented in that way.

Like for example, I don't think that I could be wrong, but I don't think that the Bible, for example, describes the devil as having, having horns. It does. And so that would, yeah. And so that would be something that is like extra biblical if we want to call it that. Um, and I think that the idea of, you know, how maybe goats get associated with kind of like sacrifice, uh, well that seems like somewhat straightforward in so far as if you think of the idea of sacrifice a bit more deeply is, [00:54:00] is kind of this idea that we sort of know.

That you, uh, can like negotiate with reality by, um, like by, by trading off something that you would want today for a better future, right? That's like still something that we believe in. Is this idea that you can kind of like, that's almost like the foundation of discipline is that like, I'm going to, you know, I'm not going to eat that food that I know is unhealthy.

I'm like, not going to spend that money because I know I need, might need something later. Right? And it's this idea that like, I'm, I'm, I'm going to like sacrifice something for, uh, with like the cre I'm negotiating with the creator, basically, right? And so, and so you can sort of see how this idea of like livestock, of course get, get, uh, associated with, with, with, with sacrifice and gets negotiating with these like higher deed.

But the question is still remains, which is like, okay, yeah, but why is, you know, why is the devil a sheep and uh, a goat and not a sheep? And I think, um, well I think that's really interesting. Uh, like, uh, how do you pronounce it? Uh, uh. [00:55:00]

Elf: Bame. Yeah, exactly.

Dotta: Like, so that's like a very old, um, depiction of

Elf: kind of darmouth.

No, I magic. I freaking love that you're engaging in this. I, I didn't know you would have input on this. I, I could go super deep on this. There, there's also like this history of, um, a lot like the Greek God pan was depicted as a goat, but then when Emperor Constantine wanted to sort of evangelize Christianity across the Roman Empire, they, they took a lot of those pagan symbols and, and adapted them, uh, re repurposed them and appropriated them.

And, and the, the goat became sort of the symbol of, of, of the, of the, the Satan. Um, like there's a whole history behind this. Um, but, but yeah, I don't know. I, I could, I could, I could go really deep. Um, But, uh, small protect, uh, thanks for a really fun question. Maybe we'll dive more in later. Um, yeah, and then, uh, [00:56:00] uh, and then give, Ahoo had a great question.

Uh, what is one of the places themes or stories in the universe that you're most excited to share? Ah, give a hoot. I, again, I could put, put 20 minutes into this. Um, let me, let me punt that to another Wizard Wednesday. Ask again that next wizard Wednesday. Um, and then Wild Ma is asking, is there any significance to the number one 60 in the universe?

Uh, wild ma. I, I, I can't think of any. If, if, if you're referencing something specific, let me know. Um, but I can't think of any of any of anything right now. Um, Uh, but we have, we have only like five minutes left and I, and I really want to hit this, this final piece, um, unless Dota bear, you guys have anything you wanna hit on?

No, I really

Dotta: want, we'll, skip do's defi we'll hit it next week. Uh, I wanna hear one

of

Elf: your favorite things about the Yeah. I, I think, I think this is probably one of the most magical things about the cult. Um, [00:57:00] is it Cucu dogs? Oh, damn you.

Bearsnake: Oh, you know that that was on, you know, that that was a hot topic was

Elf: you were

Bearsnake: perfectly, you're a little cheater.

What? A little cheater

Elf: per Yeah. Perfect. Don't it? No, it is not. Freaking cucu dogs. Now I can say it cuz it's already been said. Um, no, it's, I'm I'm trying to say something serious here. Dammit. Um, no. Okay. But for real, this, this is one of my favorite things. So, so since the, the, the inception of the cult, uh, there's, there's a particular kind of message that I get every once in a while, every few weeks.

And it's from, it's from a random cult member. And they will say something to the effect of, I'm not a, I'm not an artist. I'm not really creative. I've never really made art, but I love creating things for the cult. I received a message from Mr. Brown just like this the other day. I've, I've. I've received [00:58:00] messages from chemical imbalance saying this.

I've received messages from so many other people saying this exact same thing, just this idea that I never really created in my life, but now I am like, forgotten. Ruins has awoken this magic in me. The, the, the wizard has, has sort of opened up this whole new world. Uh, I'm, I'm rebuilding a world that was forgotten.

Um, I, I think Hoot was saying something about like this the other day. Um, and I, I just like, this is my favorite thing and, and we've talked about this before, but it's this idea that even quote non-art are Korean creators and they can create amazing things. Um, and it it just, it, it sort of reminded me recently of this artist that I was, that I've been just sort of infatuated if with, for the past 20 years.

Um, and he, he's this German artist named Joseph Boyce. He's been, he's, he was, he was a big conceptual artist in the seventies. Um, And [00:59:00] sort of his, his central ideas are really aligned with what the cult is doing. And I just, I just wanna quickly go over these. Um, one of his ideas he speaks a lot about is that, about the artist as a magician or a shaman, um, you know, th this idea that, that art and creation is magic.

We talk about that a lot. And, uh, Joseph Boyce even, he, he, he always wore a hat, which was a reference to this long tradition of Wi Witches and wizards, always wearing hats. Um, He's also famous for, for saying that everyone is an artist. Uh, and his meaning behind this aligns with what we always talk about, which is even if you don't have skill in drawing or painting or music or writing, any of these traditional methods of art production, you, everyone still has creative potential.

Um, you do not need to express this latent creativity in traditional ways. You can, you can say it in the most [01:00:00] informal way possible. As long as you're speaking your truth in earnest, you will probably say something very unique, very u original and very compelling. And, and this, this kind of art. Uh, Bois says is, is, is, is, is what's relevant here.

Um, and, and finally, uh, Bois talks about, uh, when, when you have a society that's fully realized, its creative potential, all these individuals who understand their, their, their creative potential, uh, this is a new world. Um, what he terms the social sculpture, he says that in order for us to dismantle the oppressive systems that we find ourselves in, we must build a social organism as a work of art.

Every human being is an art, and together we build a total artwork of future social order. Okay? And so, What do we have here? We have an every man artist who's, who is using the magic of art to [01:01:00] build a new world. Now, is that not forgotten Ruins? Is that not the collaborative? Legendary. Um, and so, you know, this is my favorite thing about Forgotten Ruins.

It's, that's, it's that somehow we've awoken this magical impulse in everybody and not just the, the, the established artists. Um, so that's, I think my favorite thing about the cult. I, I love when people message me and, and, and tell me like, just like Mr. Brown did this, this week about how I'm not really a creative person.

I've never really created, but, but there's something about the cult that, that has awoken this creative impulse in me. And now I just create constantly.

That's my favorite thing. That's my favorite thing too. Um,

Dotta: I think that it's really easy to get, like, Uh, in your head around what is art and what your abilities are and yeah, to have just such a narrow perspective on [01:02:00] what it means to like, create something new and the level of like, skill that, that is like, uh, required.

Like, I, I don't wanna say skill, I wanna say like proficiency, right? The, the level of proficiency that's required to make something meaningful, um, when in fact, like a lot of kind of, you know, I think that a lot of people do this in, in many areas, right? Musicians do this. You, you, you, you get obsessed with, uh, being like a technician, right?

And so like, you want to be able to draw on this like very technical way, but then by the time you've kind of practiced the technique, you don't really find you have anything, uh, to say, right? And I think musicians do this too. They're like, buy all the equipment and the effects pedals and the amps and whatever.

And it's like, you know, you like, like Jimi Hendrix just played on a Fender Stratocaster and it's just like, just buy the bread and butter guitar and like play. What you want to make. And it's, and it's those things that, um, well, if you have something to say, it can be meaningful, uh, even if you have a voice

Elf: like Bob Dylan.

So, [01:03:00] so true. Uh, I wish we had more time, but, um, I think I want to give a final word, uh, to Lyle. Lyle, do you have any final wisdom, miss wishes you'd wish to, uh, impart us with?

Dotta: I

Bearsnake: totally agree. I totally agree. Agree. I think like I was actually thinking the same thing. I, I didn't wanna say it, but yeah. I think Bilal has it just a way he really does. He really

Dotta: does.

Elf: Fantastic. All right, well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna sign us out. The Doda you were talking about musicians. Let me sign us out with one of the greatest musicians in history.

Uh, Linus. Take it away. Linus. Happy birthday, bear bear. Happy birthday. Happy bear day.

Bearsnake: Thank you. Love you guys. Very SMUs

Elf: to all. And, um, this has [01:04:00] been El Doda, man Benik the team at by Sonic Tad, major ela, soul, young Jitsu, and the terrifying, horrifying, scary warrior. Record.

Bearsnake: See you tonight. See tonight

everybody.
