Wizard Wednesday Ep.60 - October 19, 2022

=

Elf: [00:00:00] It is Wednesday. We're wizards and today is the day we like to call Wizard Wednesday. Yeah. Channeling in with Quantum Style. Through the Quantum Downs. This is Elf and Doda. Hello? Hello. And who else do we have? The bear? The bear from the Bear Cave?

Uh, what up guys? How you doing? Good, good. Just coding

Dotta: my little fingers off for the Halloween event. I've been heads down coding doda for the last few weeks and I've got, uh, the one who rings by my side, Niha nis, the whole team

Elf: really looking to Halloween.

Bearsnake: I'm sick. I'm sick. I'm sick of Deb Doda. I don't get to talk

Elf: to you when you

Dotta: I know.

I just hide in my little cave and I only talk to people who know how to program.

Elf: Yeah, it's true. Yeah, it's, [00:01:00] uh, well trick or treat is nine days away, I think. And um, yeah, I just wanna give a huge thanks to NIS was Niha and, and Cosmo I think is also giving some assist on some dev. I know he is working on walk cycles.

Um, but you know, I'll tell you one thing I've noticed is that every time we do a mint or an event or something, Doda says the same thing, which is, this is probably, he goes, not gonna make it. This is probably the most complex smart contract we've ever written. So Doda, is that true? This person

PVA: And the

Bearsnake: other thing he says is, this is gonna make

PVA: us so much better next time.

Elf: Yeah, yeah, exactly.

Dotta: This is gonna make us so much better next time. We're not gonna make it, you know, I'm stressed out, I'm stressed out. So, you know, we try to make it look easy, but you know, I'm sweating on the inside every

Elf: time. Um, yeah. Well, uh, [00:02:00] speaking of trick or treat, uh, did you all see them Souls turning?

Uh, we've got soul walk cycles done. Um, So, yeah, those will be deployed during the trick or treat event. Uh, but don't, I don't know. Will, will they be available before then? Like either as a Discord bot or anything like that? Um, Yeah. Um,

Dotta: I'd like to, I'd like to get them out beforehand, uh, at least via the api, if not via the bots or something.

But,

Elf: uh, we're

Dotta: very, very close. You know, I've got a few things do on the tech side to make them available. You know, one of the things I need to make sure is I go through and remove any of the unrevealed ultra rares, because the last thing we would ever want to do is, uh, leak hint of what the ultra rares might be.

So yeah, that would be after that, we'll always, yeah. After that we'll have them, uh, uh, yeah. Ready to go. And you can use them in kinda any, any meta that wants to support 'em. [00:03:00]

PVA: Yep, yep. Can we give a quick

Bearsnake: shout out to, uh, our friends that helped us get that across the finish

PVA: line?

Bearsnake: Hundred

Dotta: percent. Yeah. Yeah, a hundred percent.

Bearsnake: We, uh, so you know, the walk cycles, I think we talked about last week. Um, ALP was locked in a room for months last year doing the wizard cycles, and then, Cause came in to help, uh, on, on a bunch more animations and walks and turns. And then, you know, uh, I think y'all know Pixel Shop. I think, um, is it Tad that really sort of brought them into the fold, I think, and.

They were doing a lot of commissions and, and, uh, there was one, there's one animation that they did, and I was like, we have to work with these guys. And so I reached out and, and so they've come in and they, they really, they, they really nailed the walk cycles of, I think you can talk about the details, but it, it's really, you know, what the, the, the bar that you set elf, I think with these [00:04:00] creative primitives, uh, AKA pixels is really high and it's been quite difficult to find people who can execute at that level and at that scale.

And pixel shops sums. Uh, leads that team over there and they've just been so wonderful. We can't say, uh, enough

Dotta: good things about them. Yeah, I don't wanna say any more good things about them cause I don't want anybody else to try to use them. They need Bers. They're helping us on the artwork for our upcoming, uh, post Halloween play to earn crypto board game and the art, they sent over some pieces today and it's just, uh, beautiful.

You all will have to wait until after Halloween to

Elf: hear more about that. It's so good. It's so good. Yep. Yeah, they, they've been awesome. Um, yeah, we're, we're just really glad to have them. Um, so yeah, I, I think, we'll, I don't know. We, I think we can talk about Pixel Shop and their awesome work when we have more to show from them.

Um, but yeah, they were huge help with, uh, the Soul Walk cycles. Um, [00:05:00] and uh, since I didn't have to do those, it allowed me to do tons of other things. Uh, that will be revealed, uh, especially during church ticker, uh, trick or treat. Um, okay. Let's go into just some cult questions that I pulled from the secret tower.

Um, the first one, it looks like more of a tech question from ua uh, donor. Did you see this question regarding, uh, is there gonna be a snapshot about who is knocked and who is not knocked? Yeah.

Dotta: Um, I don't plan to do a snapshot. I don't mind like arbitrage or people that write scripts, and I try to like, I try to minimize the effect of it.

So for example, in trick or treat, for example, you know, it probably would be good to have a way to check on secondary before you buy one. If a, uh, token has claimed, uh, it's trick or treat or not, that's a good idea. But I think honestly at this point, this is gonna have to be a stretch goal. Um, but yeah, no, I [00:06:00] mean, there's enough tokens for all of the, you know, forgotten ruins holders of course.

Um, and then, you know, let's say like NFT X, right? One of the things people are concerned about is that this airdrop ends up like, um, aco. So if you recall what happened with ACO was someone. Wrote a smart contract that swept, I don't know exactly what it was. It was like they swept all of the apes in N F T X claimed all the airdrops in one fell swoop.

And then, um, you know, I don't know exactly, but it was like hundreds of thousands of dollars that they earned in APE point for, for doing that. And, um, uh, uh, well, people don't want that to happen here. One of the things you'll notice actually, is that I don't think any of our partner collections have, um, a lot of tokens in N F T X.

So I do, I I just don't think that's gonna be a problem. So like for every partner, um, there's, uh, you know, a limited number of treats and there are far, far fewer than that, uh, number of treats in NFT X. So I just am not [00:07:00] that worried about it as I guess what I'm saying.

Elf: Yep, me too. It's only a four day event.

Um, So, yeah, that's that. Uh, Merlin asks, is, uh, anything you can hint on with, uh, the Pony or the Spawn Road roadmap? Um, uh, no, I honestly, to be honest, we, I don't, we really don't have anything super solidly planned at this moment. Um, but you know, I mean, there's always been talks of like pony racing and podium breeding.

Um, you know, these, these tokens were given, given away for free. So they're not necessarily at the top of any priority list. Um, I think, uh, the univer, uh, game was talking about potentially, um, incorporating them as mounts. Um, I don't know, Doda, can you say anything more on that? Yep.

Dotta: Yeah, I think that's on like the roadmap.

I don't know that mounts are in day one, but they're for [00:08:00] sure on the roadmap for the Univer game. Um, and then I think for Spawn, for Beast Spawn, I'm like, um, the, the, the, the play to earn crypto board game we're working on. Um, beasts are a huge component. They're a main player of this game. Um, and, uh, well, I think there's a, there might be a role for Beast Spawn, uh, maybe, but, um, Maybe not.

I might have to wait for season two. But yeah, so I think those would be the most roadmap we have for ponies and Spawn at the moment.

Elf: Cool. Um, and then, uh, let's see, uh, Matto, Matsui and then, um, the Baron Court are both asking questions about the names in the Warriors collection. Uh, for example, some of the Warriors have name structures like the ponies, and then, um, another group of heads has just a weird name structure that's, that is applied to it, and then alone, the Indico indicant, uh, mendicant, for example.

Um, you [00:09:00] know what guys? The, uh, the quantum shadow works in weird ways, even through to our collection. Um, sometimes weird shit just happens that, uh, we honestly have no idea, um, how, how it happens. Uh, so, you know, the, the, the, all the collections still have secrets that like sometimes surprise me. Um, I don't know.

Doda, do you, do you want anything, say anything about that?

Dotta: I think that, I think that Ella Vassi in particular was named by someone on the Magic Machine team. Uh, but yeah, you know, there's a lot of, uh, well, there's a lot of randomness in the gen, so anything could happen.

Elf: The quantum shadow works in mysterious ways.

Um, Reptar is asking about show Alpha. Um, at this point I would just say that the legacy entertainment, uh, industry is [00:10:00] fucking slow. Um, you know, this is a thing that we talked about in the very beginning where like magic machine can kind of work as fast as our own. Um, Bodies will allow us to, but when we engage third party partners, like so much depends on them and their pace of, uh, rolling things out.

So yeah, I mean it's, it is definitely slower than we would've liked. Um, however, that said, Derek has, uh, he actually turned in a bunch of writing just today, but I can't wait to look over. Um, yeah, I mean that's really the most I can say about the show. I don't know if Bear Doda you guys understand anything.

Yeah.

PVA: You know, I think,

Bearsnake: uh, uh, go ahead. Yeah, I mean, I think as Doda says, we set our own speed limit when we can. And usually that's speed limit is like 200 miles an hour on stuff that we can do internally. I think with the show stuff, the most important thing to know is that like Derek is fully

PVA: [00:11:00] engaged,

Bearsnake: we're developing this thing, everybody's feeling really good about it.

Everybody we talk to about it feels really good about it. Um, and, uh, Yeah, I don't necessarily think we have a good timeline for, uh, like an official update, although I

PVA: do think in the next three months

Bearsnake: we should have, uh, a lot of similar clarity around that. So yeah, let's just leave it at that.

Elf: Cool. Um, and I know a few people wanted to come up.

We have a special guest we'll invite up later. Um, but I know, uh, the Dam Pirate Society and then Maple, I know that you wanted to come up and, and say something, but, uh, uh, pirate, uh, the Dam Pirate Society, what's up?

Bearsnake: Uh, hi guys. How you doing? Um, I've just said a apology. Apologies for my accent if you, uh, can't understand me, but, um, yeah, hopefully you can hear me

Dotta: okay.

Elf: Yeah, we've got, yeah, we can hear you fine.

Dotta: Your accent is nothing to be [00:12:00] ashamed of. No,

Bearsnake: don't apologize. It's, um, usually, uh, Americans struggle to, uh, understand me, especially if I start talking quickly. So I'll, I'll, I'll try. Keep it, um, keep it

Elf: slow. Okay. Awesome.

PVA: Yeah. Talk at, talk at 0.5.

Bearsnake: Um, so, so yeah, thanks for, thanks for having us guys. Um, just wanted to, you know, pop up and say that, um, I, I'm sure some of you have seen it. We've, we've created a pixel verse, um, based on our own sprites, but we've, we've integrated the, the cult sprites as well. Um, and we, we just want people to jump on and, and, you know, maybe come and play a game of dice with people and, and hang about really, and just offering a, a different place for wizards to sort of hang until the universe comes out.

Elf: Amazing. Yeah. I, I, uh, I haven't dug too deeply into the Vampire society myself, but the screenshots [00:13:00] that I've seen just look incredible. So, Yeah, we're,

PVA: yeah, the

Bearsnake: arts really. The arts really clean. Y y'all are super

PVA: talented.

Bearsnake: Yeah, we we're really happy with it. And, um, it is starting to come together now and, um, the, the artwork for the main collection, which is bright and past, obviously, obviously done by s who's unbelievable.

Everyone knows that. Um, and yeah, we've got, we've got a new collection come out, but I don't wanna show it too much, but keeping out for the artwork, because that is, that's another level.

Elf: Very cool. Uh,

Dotta: amazing. And so like, how long, uh, how far out are you until you'll be able to like, have folks jump in and walk around?

Well,

Bearsnake: it's, it's actually live now. So, um, the, we, we've only got one minigame at the moment just to sort of show proof of concept and we've left it as sort of a, a web two, uh, base game at the moment, just so we can build a bit of trust and, you know, let people play without having to connect the wallet.

Cause obviously that's quite, quite scary for everybody. But yeah, it's, [00:14:00] uh, it's live Now if anyone wants to jump in

Elf: Oh

Dotta: yeah, for sure. Uh, drop the link in, uh, discord if you'd like. People can jump in. And, um, you know, one of the things that I really love is you have, um, the like ambient sound. So like, uh, what is it?

Proximity sound, right? So like, you know, as, as you're walking around the world, all of a sudden like this music fades in and then you realize, oh, I'm like right by the tavern. Uh, and so I really love like, just the life that, that, that, that kind of like that little, that little tweak of b things getting louder when you're closer to it just feels so fun.

Yep.

Bearsnake: Yeah. It, it again that, yeah, it's something that when, you know, when you're sort of playing a game, you, you want to get that immersion that you, you are somewhere you, you're in a different environment. So the positional based audio or something wanting to at least get in, even if it's not perfect. Yeah.

Just so that, yeah. Like you said, when, when you go to different areas and different rooms to speak, different [00:15:00] people, you, you'll hopefully get that feeling that and associate that type of music with that character.

Dotta: And then who's the team, uh, the team behind that, uh, game? Uh, so

Bearsnake: from, we, we've basically got a small game studio who, um, are basically a web two game studio.

They're, they're building that we've got on the team as sort of advisory and, and building some of the contracts. He'll be, he'll be working on our mini contracts, which is coming up at the end of the month. So he's, he's gonna be fairly busy, I suspect, with you guys as well. Um, yeah, he's busy. And then, And then the main, the main artwork being done by by alls, um, for the, for the next collection.

So yeah, we've got small team, but working, working quite hard.

Dotta: Cool. And then are you guys going to have a mint once you're like already?

Bearsnake: Yes. So we've, we've basically done the mint for his first collection last year, so we've sort of been up and running for a year and we've, we've had a, an on chain game which has done over a million transactions, um, [00:16:00] on a smaller chain.

So that's, that's been running for a while and we, we we're dropping the next collection, same game on, on Nova. Um, and it, it, it's all play to earn, sort of play to well. Um, but yeah, any, any other questions that people have, they can always jump in. And we've got a GI book that we've just finished as well, so.

Elf: Cool.

Dotta: Uh, well that sounds great. I mean, I would love to see, uh, yeah, any of the URLs to that, drop 'em in the secret tower and I'm sure people can check it out.

Bearsnake: Yeah, I will do and thanks, thanks for having me up guys, and like I said, I hope everyone can understand me. Yeah,

Elf: we got you. Alright, thank you.

Thanks R guys. Cheers guys. Cheers. Uh, ple. What up?

Hey everybody. Hello. How's

PVA: it going? How you doing? Me both. Good

Elf: little, little family. Uh, you know, little falling asleep at dinner time, [00:17:00] upset children. You know how it is. Never a dull moment. Amazing to see everybody. Um, I just wanted to jump up and say good evening and clue everybody in the universe game has partnered with the Weekly Wizard Workshop, which runs Thursday evenings Eastern Standard at nine o'clock.

And we're doing spooky. We workshops all, all month. So we've been reading some soul lore. We've been, um, talking about spooky stuff. I've been teasing our super secret special guest who's coming on tomorrow evening, and I'll give the dramatic reveal.

Dotta: It's,

Elf: who is it? It's Al ELs gonna come and hang out and talk spooky stories with us.

That was a very dramatic reveal. Uh, I, you know, [00:18:00] I left my drum kit at home, so yeah, such is life. Um, but yeah, mat Zuki has been really, really awesome at, uh, hosting these last couple of weeks. And we've got, um, you know, Matt Suzuki's got the, and the Univer team, the Univer game team has this contest going.

So if you head on over to their Discord and see, it's a bit of a storytelling contest that's happening there. So write some spooky stories, then come on the weekly Wizard workshop and read 'em and win a PO app and some other fun stuff. So, Really excited about diving into it. Can't wait. That's awesome.

Thanks Maple. Uh, of course. Ppa. E what's up? Hey guys, how's our, how you doing?

PVA: Hey, well first of all, I wanna say thanks you guys for always like hosting this space. I've been a little Mia the last few months, but working my way back slowly but surely. Like super excited to hear everybody's voice. It's like [00:19:00] invigorating, you know what I mean?

Yeah. We're not getting flashbacks on Ft N YC right now.

Bearsnake: I remember hanging out. You just got a

PVA: gig, didn't you just get a gig? Pba, are you working? Yeah, I'll speak about that real short, like I'm gonna keep it short and brief. Uh, well first of all, I, um, I owe everyone an airdrop who collected the NFT NYC posters that I made earlier this year, and I'll be burning all of those later tonight and then airdropping something by tomorrow or later this week to everybody who collected.

So I wanna say thank you to everyone who's been supportive. I mean, honestly, like this path I've been on, like storytelling and lower has been a hugely indebted to not only forgotten ruins, but also crypto covering, but like, just any, both these collections have been super centralized around world building, you know, and I, I'm super grateful to you guys.

It's been amazing. Um, and then second, yes, I recently joined, uh, Tollen Worlds this week. Cool. Actually the founder is in the chat, uh, M K X, Michael, and I'll be working with the creative, the dev and communities [00:20:00] teams, uh, moving forward. And this Friday we have our first adventure launching on Friday, which I've had the good fortune of playing and demoing, which is a really cool game.

Obviously everyone hears into RPGs and like top-down pixelated games and that's exactly what you'll have. Um, it's open to everybody to test out and, and play. You get to kill some things. Some things might kill you. Um, but I definitely recommend it. You know, obviously everyone here is like super amped up for the universe game.

We're all looking forward to it. And this is like a cool thing, which will feel like reminiscent of it and like kinda like the path that we all like grew up on, like these kind of like storytelling. Kind of hack and slash spell casting, RPG d and d elements. Um, so yeah, your checkout toll in the world on Friday.

Everything launches. We'll have a few teasers. We'll drop some art today. Uh, I'll be working with the comics as well and probably doing the comics kind of in my style, which I know some of you are a fan of. Um, yeah. But, uh, that was it. And look forward to like more art for me. Like just because I'm part of to New World does not mean I'm [00:21:00] gonna stop creating for forgotten ruins.

Like I'm about to go into acceleration mode. Yeah, we're in the fourth quarter right now, you know, it's like the fourth quarter of like the NBA finals, so fourth quarter of the year everyone's gotta be on their A game cuz this is like when everything shows up for the next year. But I thank you for the space.

I'm gonna tune to the rest of the show and I appreciate you guys so much. Like much love.

Dotta: Thank you. Oh yeah. Much love to you. Really appreciate everything that you, that you do, and I just really love that your work. I found that I've even been inspired to learn Blender, uh, this year because in part of, uh, of the work that you've created of like how you're able to kind of like turn those 3D scenes into just like, you know, well for, you know, example, the poster for N F T N we see was just incredible.

So yeah, we love everything you've created. And then, um, of course Tallen World has, has, has been around for a while and, and love those guys and I know that some people on our team even got to try some of the demo this week and they had just really good things to say about it. So I didn't actually [00:22:00] get to try this most recent version, but I'm like, Yeah, really looking forward to it.

It's, it's, it's really fun. Dan, you didn't get

PVA: exclusive access. Wow. I can't

Elf: believe it. I think I was offered it, but I've just been so heads

Dotta: down with Halloween. I missed like, a lot of meeting this

Elf: week by accident.

PVA: Fair enough.

Bearsnake: Michael? Michael came in from Toland to the office to the barricade to visit me analogy, I dunno, like a month or two ago.

Amazing. What a great, what a what a great guy. Um, really just like, it's coming from the heart and he's clearly a great

PVA: builder and it's, he's only 20 years old. My dad, I know. He's only 20. I'm like, what? It's upsetting. I know. It's upsetting. He's so smart and young. I hate him.

Dotta: Speak of hating him. I think I'm letting him up

Elf: on stage.

Bearsnake: Well, then I'll retract that statement. I don't know.

Elf: Yeah. I just wanted to say quickly that it was nice being in a barric cave. It was a, it was an interesting, this is not how I imagined it, honestly. [00:23:00] I, yeah. I'm Michael from Small World, by the way.

Bearsnake: Oh, wait, wait, wait. I, let's, let's, let's dig in. What were your expectations and then what was, uh,

Elf: I, I expect like it more for rug, like, like a panorama.

Glasses in a kinda like, yeah, like it just like more laser beam, kind of, kind of at least some traps, you know?

Dotta: Right. It's like hidden in a waterfall. Next to a volcano. Exactly.

PVA: We're

Bearsnake: working towards that. We're working towards that.

Elf: Okay. Yeah, bear, step up your interior design game. I know,

Bearsnake: I thought, I thought I had it a lot. I like got two. We got two posters framed, and then we just sort go after

Elf: that

Dotta: less LA and more layer. I'll,

PVA: I'll, I'll, I'll

Bearsnake: get to

PVA: work.

Elf: Um, cool. Uh, thanks guys. Thanks pva. Um, there's, there's two big things that I want to hit [00:24:00] on today, uh, which is the comic, and then I want to dive into a little bit of lore talk, which I wanna do more often on Wizard Wednesday.

Um, maybe, maybe let's do the comic, uh, for which we have a special guest, um, Joe. Oh, there's Joe. I'm gonna invite him up. Um, there he is. Um, while Joe is on his way up here, um, let me just give a little intro. So. Over the weekend, I, uh, I went pretty deep into, uh, issues one through four. Um, Joe has, Joe's our comic writer by the, by the way.

Um, so far he has submitted, uh, I think all the way up to issue six. Uh, uh, and yeah, like I said, I, I went through one through four. Uh, I've been through one through four. Um, and I'm just, I'm just really falling in love with the comic. And I, and I want to, I just wanna talk, talk briefly about why the comic is so awesome and it's so important to what we're [00:25:00] doing.

Um, Honestly, like the, the main reason is it's the, the comic is such a strong, tangible, real life proof of concept. Um, because one of the North stars that Forgotten Ruins is, is, is this idea that we at Magic Machine will take cult content, uh, mostly from the book of lore and put it into these larger media expressions, like the TV show, the comic, the games, et cetera.

Um, and to date we have done that, uh, only in the trailer and in issue zero. Um, but beyond those two things, this has really just been like an aspiration for the future. Um, but now that I've read issues one through four, I can see that this aspiration is becoming a reality. Um, this, this concept is working, uh, really well.[00:26:00]

Um, and I, I always knew at work, but there have been some people who have expressed maybe a little bit of skepticism on how we would be able to feature so many disconnected stories from a decentralized community, uh, into a singular large media expression that always wanna know how, how you establish continuity, how will you make coherent stories?

How will you fit all this content into these things? Um, and so, you know, after this first round of comics, I can just confidently hold up a handful of physically printed books and say, here, this is how thumb through these pages, and look at how many community members content is featured here. You know, I I, I can tell you right now, like just these first few issues, I, I'm.

I'm estimating there's like 20 to 30 separate wizards who have been referenced in just these first issues. Um, you know, these references are, are anything from like full mainline stories to [00:27:00] brief cameos to little in jokes to just simple lines of dialogue. But there, there's the whole gamut of cult content in these books.

Um, and it's, it's just great because so often, uh, tech startups, um, they, they have a, they have a grand vision and they have to sell that vision with only words or pitch decks or hopes and dreams. But nobody actually knows if these ideas will work in the real world. Um, but for me, this comic is a tangible, real world proof that our grand vision works.

Um, and, and we, we have several physical books to prove it. So at this point, I just wanna bring up our comic writer, Joe, to, uh, thank him in helping us make this grand division, uh, reality. Uh, so Joe, welcome to Wizard Wednesday. Uh,

PVA: thank you Elf. It is great to be here and, uh, it is awesome to hear how excited you are about the comic.

I'm, I'm just as [00:28:00] excited as you are.

Elf: Yeah. Yeah. It's, uh, it's, I, I just, again, I, I read through these first four, first four issues and I had a smile on my face the whole time. And, you know, I said this to you the other day, but like, the deeper I got into these issues, the more I felt like you were totally understanding Forgotten Ruins, what we're all about, the book of lore.

Um, can, can you speak to that?

PVA: Yeah. Uh, so I mean, I've, I've been working on this with you guys, um, roughly for about a year now. And for a majority of that time it was just an outline phase and we kind of had our main storylines figured out. Um, but y you had, you know, you guys had wanted to inject as much lore as possible and you kept telling me like, can you fit more wizards in, can you fit more wizards in?

And, uh, I mean, you mentioned you were a, you were a little doubtful and there's been some skepticism of whether it's possible. [00:29:00] And I was a little skeptical. I was like, I already have my, my story figured out. How am I. Gonna cram all of these other wizards into here. Yeah. Um, and it, like you said, as I've been writing, as I wrote the, the first issue and then the next one and the next one, I started to get into the world, I started to get into the flow.

And as I dug more and more into the book of lore, the more I saw how you've really created this like, collection of action figures. And it's really fun to just pick up a few action figures off the shelf and play with

Elf: them e Exactly. Yes. Exactly. And I know that, um, that, that, like as soon as we implemented the search feature into the book of Lord, like that radically changed your

PVA: process.

Right? That was crucial for me, honestly, because early on I would, I would just be flipping through the book of lore, like hitting the arrow key. Next page. Next page, next page. [00:30:00] Which was interesting cuz I would see all this lore that was cool. And, and. Fascinating and fun, but like not very helpful for my purposes because I needed, I was looking for specific things, wizards that could fit into specific scenarios for specific purposes.

Yep. Um, and now that there's this search feature, um, it's way easier to just plug in a keyword of the general thing I'm looking for and boom, I've got a dozen options, um, of, of varying lower, and I can kind of comb through and pick the wizard that's the best fit.

Elf: Yep, yep. Exactly. Yeah. It's like, it's, you know, one thing I've been talking about in the past few months is how, like, how do we select wizards to put into these comics or the show or whatever.

And, you know, I, I think like the main thing I just want to, um, to let drive that is just, just pure creativity. Um, I don't necessarily wanna like [00:31:00] select. Uh, like prominent community members all the time. I don't want the cult to become cliquish in that way. I just want the creativity to drive the creativity.

And so, like, what I think is working is like you're writing the story first, and then you're, you know, maybe you're like, okay, I need a wizard that, um, that has, I don't know, some adventures in the desert, so let me look up desert stories. And so you can just easily type that in and, and, and find the, the character that you need.

Right? So create the creativity is driving the creativity it seems like.

PVA: Precisely. And, um, also b besides just the search function, being able to sort by lore with images is really helpful because, uh, if I come across a wizard with like just a few images and no actual text, you know, sometimes less is more because then I can really, that can, an image like that can really inspire a whole scene.

That maybe wouldn't have [00:32:00] been written about in the book of lore, but that I can then kind of flesh out and plug into the comic book in an interesting way.

Elf: For sure. Yeah. It's, it's a, it's cliche to say, but a picture truly is worth a thousand words. It honestly is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you know, hint, hint, this is, uh, a clue to include pictures into your book of lo Andries.

Um, but, uh, but yeah, Joe, I just, I I just love how much Lo book of lore content you're including in the stories. Um, you know, as, as I, I was, as I was reading your scripts, um, it, it made, uh, e even, even I had to like, start diving into the book of lore. Um, and damn, the book of lore is just getting. Huge. There, there's like almost 4,000 entries in there.

And there's

Bearsnake: over 4,000

Elf: entries. Yeah, over 4,000. And it's like, there's so much good content in there. I cannot believe it. Um, [00:33:00] Joe, do you have like any standout lo lore stories, like just off the top of your head that you wanna mention?

PVA: Um, the, the first that comes to mind for me is I came across, I was looking for, uh, uh, wizards that had come into contact with, uh, mais Wasier.

And I, I found, uh, I found the lore for this guy. Uh,

Bearsnake: what's his name? I just had him up. Um,

PVA: I had the lore for this pyro

Elf: answer. Uh, was it a cobal pyro answer? Yeah.

PVA: Um. But a, anyway, the, the, the thing about his lore that, uh, that kind of grabbed me was that it had been split into three short chapters. They weren't long, and they were kind of like a epistolary fiction.

The first chapter was a, [00:34:00] uh, a press release, and the second chapter was a news article, and the third chapter was a police report.

Elf: That's awesome.

PVA: And it, and it was just like a really creative way to lay out this short snippet. Uh, and I mean, elf and Bear used to work with me. They, they know I have some pretty juvenile taste of taste and humor.

It's

Elf: true, it's true.

PVA: Uh, and this, this Laura just featured, uh, a classic prank being pulled on, on the, uh, dream Masters of, of Dream Master Lake. Uh, That, that had me literally laughing out loud. Let me, let me pull up the name of the wizard now so I can, I can do, yeah. Awesome. While, while you're

Bearsnake: finding it.

Um, I do wanna say how fantastic it is to be working together. Again, I, I know Joe mentioned, but Alf, myself and Joe, we, we, we made a bunch of stuff a long time ago. [00:35:00] Uh, and it was, it was a pleasure back then and it's a pleasure now. So, yeah, it was, it's, it's just so great to be working with people that you have a lot of respect for and that, you know, we've just known each other for so long, so, so happy to have you.

And the scripts

PVA: really are just coming alive. Uh, thank you. Couldn't agree more guys. When, when this project first came around and, uh, I was taking a look, part of what drew me to it was knowing how you guys just don't half-ass anything and, and how you guys are gonna always put in 200% and just knock it outta the park.

Elf: No, I, I appreciate you saying that. Um, one more thing. Um, you know, I, the, like, you, you've been working as a writer for a while and um, and when we brought you on, we were like, Hey, you wanna write a comic? And you were like, yeah. And then, and then the next thing I had to like tell you was okay, but this is a new thing called decentralized storytelling.

And I, we had to like, [00:36:00] like sort of brief you on what all that meant. And, and maybe I, well, I don't know. You tell me, was, was that like something sort of, I don't know, difficult to like, wrap your head around in the beginning and just like figure out how to, how to, how to do.

PVA: Well, well, that's what I think is so cool about this project is that, um, I mean, you guys know you were probably laughing at me earlier this afternoon cause I'm like crypto illiterate.

I don't have any idea what I'm doing with crypto or Yeah. Joe tried

Bearsnake: to get us to send, uh, a wizard to his Coinbase, uh,

PVA: account. Yeah. I don't know what's going on. Uh, so, so when you first were telling me about this, I had heard of NFTs. I like kind of understood the concept of NFTs, but every NFT project I had seen, I just, I either didn't understand or I didn't see the value.

Yeah. And as soon as you guys explained this to me, I don't know if it's my background with like playing magic the gathering or my background playing Dungeons and [00:37:00] Dragons. But as soon as you were like, You buy a wizard, you own the wizard, you come up with that character's backstory, but the world itself exists outside.

I, I, I just fully understood it immediately. Uh, I, I think you sent me an email that, that said like, collaborative legend, barium. Yeah. I was like, I was like, sold. But that's all I need to hear. It sounds so cool. Sign me up. Awesome.

Elf: Awesome. That's great, Joe. Um, yeah. Well, I'm, I'm so glad that, uh, you're on board and I've been loving your script.

And, um, yeah, I guess, uh, I guess the ni the next issue is, I don't know, bear when, when's the next issue coming up?

Bearsnake: Um, the next issue, we don't have a date because, I'm trying to get some stuff done first. Um, but, uh, Q1 next year, I bet Q1

Elf: next year. Okay.

PVA: Uh, [00:38:00] just, just for the record, I, I wanna shout out that whoever wrote the lore for, uh, pyro or Jamil of the Quantum Downs is, there you go.

Is the wizard I was thinking of. Awesome. Lovely.

Bearsnake: Oh, and also Joe, you should, you should plug some of your stuff. Didn't you have, uh, didn't a movie you wrote get, get filmed this year?

PVA: Uh, last year. Uh, thank you. Thank you, Vera. Uh, yeah, last year I had a horror movie I wrote, uh, produced by tuby, the free streaming service.

Um, and it's a horror movie, so it's October and if you want to check it out, it's free on Tuby. It's called Unborn, and it's, uh, a little bit of a Hallmark horror movie. So you might laugh more than you scream, but you're gonna have a good time. When, wait, when can we watch it? It's out right now. Okay, sweet.

Bearsnake: I'm watching it. I'm getting

PVA: tubey and I'm watching it.

Elf: Awesome Joe. Um, [00:39:00] cool. Any, anything else about the comic? Maple, did you wanna say something? Yeah, yeah. I'll just say, uh, Joe, anytime you want to come play d and d with the call, uh, we've got a few different DND groups going, you'd be welcome to join us and for anyone who wants to enjoy the book of lore through a different medium, I know not all of us have time to sit and read, but all of the recent readings we've done are up on the Cult Community podcast.

Um, and you can, you can check those out in audio form while you're driving or walking to work or whatever. So link that in the Secret Tower. It's the same podcast I've been doing for a while, so just rebrand it as the cult community cast so you can listen to the book of lore. Amazing. Um, hen Boyd, I, uh, I see you connecting.

There's Hen Boyd. What up [00:40:00] hen?

PVA: Hey, can you hear me? Yep. Hey, everybody, I just wanted to, uh, pop in real quick and, uh, discuss something that we've been working on, uh, since we had this discussion with the lore and the comic book and everything. Uh, a few months ago, mags Waze, uh, sent out a tweet about a community lore project for a token that he picked up.

And basically, uh, what you're, what the plan is, is to take this token and write a story. On him and pass it to community members. Do you don't have to own a wizard or a warrior. It's just something that we're trying as an experiment to get people, uh, familiar with Forgotten Wound and to, um, utilize their, uh, storytelling skills.

We have a current Discord theme, uh, thread that, uh, we've been communicating on for the last few months. And, um, Delta Mouse is the current token holder is, the token is, uh, 1204. It's called Murphy of Goblins. Been kind of referencing on them in the, in the, uh, secret [00:41:00] tower. But, uh, it's kind of an experiment.

We're just passing this token on and getting the story bigger and bigger. Um, I did the first lower entry, um, why Sam is on this Artis, uh, Magnus was there and Delta Mouse. And we're looking for some more folks cuz we need to get the story continued. So if you're interested. I'll post a link on the Sacred Tower, or you can just DM me.

Um, but, uh, that's just a little side project that was yours experimenting with, and, uh, it's going great so far.

Elf: Thanks.

Dotta: Fun. Which, which wizard was that, by the way?

PVA: It's, uh, excuse me, a warrior, warrior Murphy of Goblins 1204.

Dotta: Got it. Yep. Got it.

Elf: That sounds super fun, actually. Um, awesome. Thanks guys. Uh, so Doda, I, I, I've got some more stuff I wanted to talk about, but did you wanna say anything about your experience last week?

Yeah. Yeah. So, alright, so we're inviting a lot of people

Dotta: to trick or treat and, [00:42:00] um, you know, one of the things that, uh, we're trying to do is just like, get involved, uh, more in some of the other projects that we're inviting to trick or treat. So, you know, the, the, for the projects that we, that we, that we invited, um, basically the, it was really tough to kind of narrow it down to just 10 communities, right?

Because we're giving away, um, N F T tokens for both, uh, uh, tricks and treats. And of course, you know, the problem is we don't wanna give away so many tokens that this supply is ridiculous, right? So, um, so we just picked, um, the top. 10 communities by all time volume on open sea, which actually was a pretty good proxy for like some of the, the, the holders that we, you know, would love to have, be part of the cult.

And so, you know, one of the things that the trick or treat event will do is hopefully get kind of the attention of people who are involved in these other projects. You know, I think there's been a time earlier in the year in our community where, uh, maybe we feel, [00:43:00] uh, that we don't have a lot of overlap with kind of the, the people who buy into these bigger collections.

And, and, and then we, we know that they would like what we're doing here. So, Yeah, so, um, so I actually picked up a moon bird this week and I tweeted about it and it was really fun. And, um, you know, I picked up a moon bird that was, um, uh, that there was actually a moon bird, uh, that had sold for 50 eth about six months ago.

And I picked it up for 15 and it was, uh, like a Zelda moon bird. I don't know if they call it Robin Hoots or whatever. Uh, and I really love it, so I like am obsessed with Zelda link to the past, by the way. So like, I want to build, like, uh, you know, I want to build, like rebuild, uh, uh, some like Zelda link to the past, but like in Forgotten ruins.

So that's like a goal of mine eventually. I love that game so much. And, and so I really just love Zelda. It's such an inspiration for everything we're doing here. So when I saw that Moon Bird and I knew that I wanted to get into that community, I, uh, that was the one I picked up. And so, uh, yeah, well, you know, so it's a huge project.

It's a [00:44:00] huge project, right? It's like a blue chip, kind of like top 10 project. Um, you know, So for context for me, like I feel like this past year as we've been running for God ruins, I haven't had, um, uh, I haven't had as much chance to like trade NFTs. And I think that what happens is the, the industry has moved so fast that like, if you're not really digging into like some of these other blue chips and seeing what they're doing, you know, you maybe are like falling behind.

So, yeah. Anyway, it's something we've all been talking about, right? Like, you know, Yu Me and Bear have been talking about, well, maybe we should buy a Na Zuki, maybe we should buy a doodle, maybe we should get a punk and all these things. And I, I think eventually we will.

Elf: So,

Dotta: yeah, so I bought a moon bird. One of the interesting things about proof is that you don't have access to their discord unless you're a token holder.

And so I had like very high kind of expectations. You know, I posted though, I got a moon bird and I got, you know, a lot of really good engagement on Twitter. Of course. Um, you know, I joined the Moon [00:45:00] Bird server and got a really warm welcome with everyone there. Um, you know, they were really friendly upfront because I'd kind of joined.

Um, but then like right away actually I noticed there was a little bit of kind of, um, there was a little bit of like salt over the fact that I'd picked up a moon bird that had sold for 50 eth six months ago for 15. Because what that basically like, I'm very excited because I feel like, oh, you know, it's up only for here, right?

Like it's a bad time in the market. Like everyone's down, what a great time to get a good deal. Um, and when I showed up, I basically walked into a discussion where people were feeling a bit, um, uh, dejected and they were feeling a bit bearish. And, and it was so interesting because I know that with our little community, when we, when we, you know, we really focus on lo not floor, but if you dig into some of the channels where we kind of like get into the discussion about like the, the crypto market, you hear a bit of like skittishness [00:46:00] where it's like, oh, we don't have, you know, enough whales, or we don't have enough this, or we're getting passed over, or whatever.

So I'm in the Moon Birds chat and like they're having the exact same conversations, exact same. They're looking up at Zuki and they're like, oh, this spirit Suzuki just sold for a hundred E, how come we haven't sold a moon bird for a hundred E? Oh, we need to get the whales active in here. Uh, and literally someone posts like, it's really too bad that this project is so slept on.

And they're like, they like all like you, all of the exact same sentiment of like, kind of, that you'd see from us from time to time where you feel like, oh, the whales are passing over us. This project is ignored. Nobody knows about this project. That's what they were talking, that's how they were talking.

The Moon bird server. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe it. I'm like, this is a top 10 project of all time. I named, and I said this in the chat, I was like the, I, I couldn't believe the, the bear sentiment. Um, oh, and another thing too was that their. Okay. One of the [00:47:00] things I'm so grateful for about Forgotten Ruins is that we are working together to create something, right?

That like, it's really well understood that like, for Forgotten ruins to kind of achieve its goals. Every one of us is like creating something new. And like, of course, you know, elephant Bear and I have a role in Magic Machine has the role, but like the, the, the, the, the feeling as a community is we're doing this all together.

The feeling that I got from the Moon Birds chat and again, you know, whatever, I have a moon bird. I'm not trying to dig on anyone, but I'm just like trying to compare and contrast was very much like, what is the team gonna do for me? You know, we've been staking our moon birds, you know, what is K that k r o is the, uh, acronym they use for Kevin Rose?

And they're like, you know, what is K R O and team gonna do for us? Like, what are they gonna do to get us in a, you know, they we're only a top 10 project. What are they gonna do to get us to be a top three? And, uh, this was just like a lot of like entitlement around. And, and then in, just in terms of like the content too that I was seeing there, there's a lot of like borderline kind of gifts and [00:48:00] stuff that I like wouldn't allow in forgotten ruins, discord.

Like, I was expecting something that was more frame family friendly, like we are. And it was actually quite a lot, like some of the boiler room like, uh, crypto groups that I've been a part of. So all that to say, you know, I'm, I'm not trying to moderate their discord. They can choose kind of their own community standards and the people that they wanted to, to, to take part of course.

Um, but you know, it just surprised me a little bit to kind of see sort of one. Uh, the, the Sheepishness and the Bearishness about the market two, um, kind of the, the like content guidelines were a lot like, uh, crypto tokens. There was like very financially motivated. And then three really just like seeing kind of the entitlement for the team rather than like feeling the sense, you know, you think because it's a CC zero, they have like such a sense of like, um, uh, well, like anyone can build on the ip, so to speak.

And so, well that's just comparing contrast between the two projects. Like I'm still bullish on Moon Birds, of course the team is excellent and they're doing great things, but, [00:49:00] um, well, I would rather be, uh, a founder and a part of this community even more. It just made me appreciate everyone here so much and everything we're trying to do.

So,

Elf: yeah, I, uh, I will, I'm not gonna talk about Moon Birds, but I am gonna talk about the cult. And one thing I love, um, bear and I gave an interview yesterday, maybe, or the day before, and one of the questions was, uh, Something about like, what kind of cult is this? And um, I said, I said, I said, look, yes, we are a cult, but here's the main disti distinguishing feature.

Every other cult in history, uh, has had a thick layer of dogma. Uh, that every cult member must adhere to. And, um, uh, they must, uh, they must also follow, uh, a leader no matter how crazy or, um, [00:50:00] uh, disastrous that lead leader may be. Every cult member looks to that leader to follow and forgotten. Ruins is pretty much the exact opposite.

Forgotten ruins encourages you to be your own leader, to be yourself, to put your mark on the world, and to put your RO on the door. Um, and that's pretty much the guiding ethos of our so-called cult, uh, which is to be your own leader and to put your room on the door. Um, you know, it's because to me, this is, this is what the whole, what makes NFTs different from fungible tokens, which is.

A fungible token, you are at the whim of market forces to decide the value of your token. But in forgotten ruins, uh, you are in total control of your token. Um, you decide your token's destiny, uh, because you are the leader of your self and your character. Um, so yeah, you know, I think that, you know, maybe, maybe these other projects, um, are more [00:51:00] cult-like in, in the form of traditional cults where they rely on a leader to, uh Right.

Take charge. And, um, I don't know. Sorry, go ahead, Doda. No, no, I agree.

Dotta: Yeah. Yeah. Like there's a lot of projects. They're looking for a cult of personality, and they're looking for like a leader to kind of save them, right? Is that like, oh, this other person is in charge. I bought in as like an investor in this project and then someone else is gonna save me, you know?

And oh, and I think one other thing too, I made two mistakes when I tweeted about Moon Bird specifically. One is that I used the word, I said, that's kind of toxic. I think. I wouldn't use that word again. Um, I don't, I actually don't apologize for that. I stand behind it in Zo bars. Like some of the stuff that was said was at, well, like I.

I don't think I was wrong, but I don't think I would tweet it again. I think I would say that they were very abrasive, which is also very true. Um, there are some sub parliaments that were way more friendly and that a lot of really nice people. Like I'm not trying to paint the whole community a particular way.

I just kind [00:52:00] of, I think I came on a bad day. And then the other thing too is, is I actually tweeted out a screenshot of someone in Discord, um, and I didn't fuzz out their name, and it was almost like, it, it, it came across to that person that I was like, naming and shaming, which I didn't mean to do that at all.

And so I actually think one of my principles is like, don't tweet out a screenshot of like, uh, something critical about someone with their name attached, unless it's like, unless you're purposely trying to like name and shame and like definitely was not trying to do that. In this case. It was, they'd mentioned something, uh, that I thought was humorous where they said, uh, you know, Uh, in Moon Birds, they have this nesting program where, um, you, you stake your moon bird and then they give you merch over time.

And, uh, and someone said, I wonder what the gold nesting rewards are, which are like coming out today. Um, which is like, if you've been nesting staking for this whole six months. And, and someone said, uh, well, the team said it was gonna be fun, so don't get your expectations too high. Uh, and then someone else said, I forget exactly.

They're like, uh, the time the team says that something is gonna be fun, it like knocks a years of [00:53:00] profits off the price or something. Like, they like just hate when the team talks about having fun. And then I tweeted out, oh, compare and compare, like with, you know, how we tweeted about a month ago, which is like, you know, the greatest compliment that you can get for an idea in the magic machine discord is like, you know, elf telling you, oh, that's really fun.

Uh, and so it was just like this for me. It, it wasn't that I was trying to say that person was being toxic, it was just sort of saying like, look at the difference of the mindsets between these two communities. Uh, so yeah. So all that to say, I think. Uh, well, I like the

Elf: cult. I like the cult too. Uh, I just wanna, I, I wanna, um, elaborate on that, that leader leadership comment I made just a second ago though.

Yes. Um, you know, I, I, I did call us like a leaderless cult, but that is not to say that deter bear. I are, um, not going to play our role. And, and if anything, um, I see our role as, uh, empowering the rest of our community to take ch take charge and put their ruins on the door, um, and, [00:54:00] uh, push their, uh, their, their, their cult content into these larger media expressions and, and building tools, um, and features that allow you to do all of this.

So, you know, leaderless. But, um, but, uh, we are, we are certainly here, uh, enthusiastically to, uh, help the cult along and, and guide it where I think it needs to go. Um, But yeah, we've only got like five minutes left, man, I swear sometimes. Uh,

Bearsnake: yeah. How is it, how is it 2 54 right now?

Dotta: That's, I know you had a, you had a whole thing you were gonna talk about with like lore and hat colors and I don't know if you wanna do that today or save it for next week, cuz we haven't even touched

Elf: cult content.

I know, I know. There's so much good cult content as well. Um, you know what I, we've got five minutes. I think I can fit this in. Okay. Um, yeah, just cuz it's, it's, it's a thing that I've been seeing discussed a lot in the Discord and I, I just wanna address it, um, which is just, just, I wanna clarify some of the lore around the hat colors [00:55:00] and, and you know, why, why we've, why we said the things we've said about them.

Um, So, yeah. You know, as, as we've talked about before, there's uh, seven main political factions that operate in the universe, and they are distinguished by hat color. Um, and just f yi, uh, the Warriors as well can, um, adhere to these, uh, seven political factions if they want. Um, but the reason I put them in there is because they are a great, uh, storytelling tool.

Um, so, you know, when you write about a character, you need to know that character's backstory, their history, their hopes, dreams, aspirations, and goals. Um, and you need to know these things because when you're writing about that character, Uh, this is the information you use, uh, to tell you how that, how they act in any, in any given situation.

Um, and so this thing, same thing applies to worlds. When you're building a world and when you're creating a world, uh, you need to know that world's history and [00:56:00] geography and the cultures and the politics of that world. Um, because honestly, per perhaps one of the most, uh, one of the primary forces that affect a world is its geopolitics.

Um, this applies in the real world, and this is, this applies in fictional worlds, um, politics, uh, obviously have a profound implication on how societies behave. Uh, and that's how in individual characters behave, um, or, or at least the daily challenges that are thrown at them. Uh, you know, if, if you study world history, you're essentially just studying politics.

Um, the politics of the conquerors and the leaders and the rulers of their time. So I just wanted to su supply some of that, that that seed of creation, uh, to the universe with these seven factions. Um, now, even though we've put this out there, uh, it is totally up to you as the creator whether you want to use this, this information or not.

Um, [00:57:00] You know, if, if we look at the real world, most people don't directly acknowledge the political influences on their lives. Um, in fact, many outright detest politics, and I totally understand that. Um, I would expect that many wizards and warriors in the reverse are the same. Uh, so again, you know, I'm only putting this out there as possible piece of in pieces of infor information that you can play with.

Um, furthermore, the hat colors on your characters are not meant to be rigid structures that your characters must adhere to. Um, if you're Wizards hat is red, uh, but you find the Red Hat culture and politics not to your liking. Uh, the near Red Hat is merely a fashion statement and nothing more. Um, but you know, to, to me what is interesting about these seven factions is they are archetypes of human organization.

Um, they are descriptions not [00:58:00] necessarily of individual humans, but of groups or cults if you will. Um, they are archetypes of, uh, the principles around which groups of humans form cultures. Um, and so I'll just, I'll just dive into one example real quick. Uh, since I just mentioned the red hats, um, You know, this is a culture that organizes around the love of money and finance.

Um, examples of this culture are like Wall Street or frankly, a huge chunk of the crypto community, uh, like finance bros. Um, you know, there, there, there's people, especially in the United States, uh, who believe that capitalism and free market dynamics are the most virtuous expression of any human society.

Um, and this is the organizing principle around which the Red Hats adhere to. Um, the Red Wizard Capital City is, uh, is governed by these principles, uh, on the universe map. Um, and so then of [00:59:00] course, uh, these principles can trickle down into individual characters as well. And so let me give you an example.

Um, well, okay, so you can find virtuous examples and you can find very sinful examples of this mindset. Um, a virtuous example would be like Bruce Wayne of Batman, um, a. This is a, uh, a mortal man who essentially his superpower is his wealth. Um, he uses his unlimited wealth to create amazing tech and fright, fight crime.

Uh, you know, without his wealth, Batman would just be like an amazing detective who probably works at the Gotham pd, uh, to earn a paycheck. Um, but it's his wealth that's really just transformed who he is and allows him to be a superhero. Um, another maybe example would be like, uh, the Crawleys from Downton Abbey.

Um, though, you know, you could probably argue that they're more defined by their aristocratic tradition more than they are the wealth itself. Um, But then, uh, then if you look for some like [01:00:00] ugly, sinful, amoral examples of this, um, these examples are myriad. Uh, Patrick Bateman from American Psycho is a great example.

This is a man who is so depraved by his relentless pursuit of capitalistic materialism that he totally loses his grip on reality and becomes a sadistic serial killer. Um, another great example is the Lannisters from Game of Thrones, um, who is a family who defines themselves primarily through their wealth and, uh, pretty much at the expense of all else.

Um, so that's a little bit about the Red Hats. Um, you know, again, all the hat colors have a really distinct political, uh, ideas and, and, um, Uh, cultures. So, but yeah, I just, you know, I, I'll, I'll spend more time talking about those things in depth, uh, in other Wizard Wednesdays, but I just, I wanted to clarify just the why of, of why these political factions are out there.

Just, it's a great storytelling tool. [01:01:00] We needed something to, uh, some backstory on the universe itself. Um, and again, you know, the, the univer is a reflection of the real world. So all these, these factions are just like archetypes that I've just pulled out, um, that, uh, I think a lot of, uh, organizations and societies organize themselves around.

Uh, but yeah, I hope that clarified Janine confusion that I saw in The Discord the other day. Um, we can, uh, definitely dive into it, into it more Next Wizard Wednesday. But besides that, I also really wanna shout out some cold content. Um, I don't know, do or bear, did you guys wanna say anything else?

Dotta: Um, Sharon signed up to read some lore, so we should let her close.

I think that's

Elf: a good idea. Oh yeah. Love it. Yes, I definitely wanna have more lore readings on Wednesday.

Dotta: So, yeah. Sharon, if you're, if you're here, request to come up and we'll, we'll call you up while we go over some cold content. Yep. I wanted

Bearsnake: to shout out for cold content. Uh, this here is a Cumberland [01:02:00] game.

What the

PVA: free,

Dotta: are you kidding me?

Elf: You have fun. It's incredible. Yeah, I, I know, I know. It is amazing. Um, uh, okay, another piece of amazing cult content that has been sitting on Twitter for like, I don't know, two or three weeks now that I have not called out was our boy Derek, eating a donut with no Hands, um, and setting the world record.

Um, did you guys see that? I did,

PVA: I wanna, I

Bearsnake: tried to like, make it a thing. I wanted to see videos of just everybody eating donuts as fast as they possibly could. So we're gonna have to, like, we're gonna figure that out. We're gonna have to have like, an official donut day.

Elf: No, but I mean, that one, like, like, it's something that nobody asked for, but now, uh, we, I can't get enough of it.

Um, it was, uh, it was, it was, it was just a beautiful feat of, um, uh, human ability. Uh, so well done, Derek. Uh, I hope nobody ever breaks your [01:03:00] record, and if they do, I'm sure you can beat it. Um, another really just standout piece of cult content was from Marco find dot eth. Um, just beautiful character designs.

I just can't get enough of this style. It's like, I wanna see a whole derivative collection in this style. Um, Beardo, I'm sure you guys saw those. Oh, it's

Bearsnake: a, it's ama like, it's amazing. It, it, there has to be, we have to do something with that. We, we need to, we need to get into the dms here and, and figure that

Elf: out.

It's beautiful. Yeah. Really good stuff. And then speaking of other derivative collections that I wanna see, um, uh mm, maze dot eth, uh, did, uh, Jitsu's Cobol as like a, i, I guess it's called Forgotten Toads. Um, oh, so good.

Bearsnake: So

Elf: good. Uh, I'm just, I just love the derivative collections. Uh, and then, uh, of course Tanya, uh, has continued [01:04:00] her epic run, uh, with October, um, just more excellent, stunning content that always puts a smile on my face.

Um, she even found time to fit in a, uh, an additional piece. Now, I don't even know if it's part of the, uh, the official October, but it's of us three, um, like huddling around some like fire. I'm sure you guys saw that. I.

Bearsnake: Hopefully loved. It's notd, it's not a foreshadowing of us, like homeless by a fire.

Elf: I love that piece because it's

Dotta: starting to make, uh, Dota look cooler.

Um, and I think. Yeah, I, I like this Dota with the sharp teeth, uh, as a

Elf: monster. I, I'm glad that you think that this version is the one that makes you look cool. I'm just saying it's better than the other

Dotta: one. I mean, the eyes, you know, [01:05:00]

PVA: and then

Bearsnake: someone posted the three-headed dragon meme. Oh, man,

PVA: that was

Dotta: good.

Yeah, that was really

Elf: disappointing.

Dotta: Um,

Bearsnake: can we, can we shout out the song

Dotta: from Mag Ir, the Hills?

Elf: Oh yeah. No, no, no. I've got it on my list, but yeah. Let's jump to, to Mag Iar. No. Mag Iar did two excellent pieces this week. Um, yes, the one, this like amazing music video with like the, the drumming and the dancing and the cat smoke and a pipe, and it's like so much cult content worked into this amazing music piece.

Bearsnake: Well, what going on? I was bonding on that. I, I honest I'll be, I'll be honest, I listened to that like two or three

Elf: times in a row. Yeah, it's very catchy. Well done. Magix r um, and then not only that, but he also, MAGA six R is the one who I, he won, um, the, the Doni, the donut sacrifice contest. And so then he, he did a, a, uh, [01:06:00] a dramatic re re inaction of it, um, that it starts out sort of like breaking bad Walter White style and then just escalates from there.

Um, so yeah, Magix Art, legendary Wizard. Um, another strange piece of cult content that I'm seeing floating around is like, there's, there's some Roshambo game happening. I don't know if that's like, oh yeah, what, is that a real functioning game or is it just like a fun me meme? I don't know what's going on, but it looks cool.

Um, there's a website, but I don't know if

Dotta: it's real.

Elf: Okay, awesome. Uh, caster Xb, uh, did a really nice piece of a, of a wizard with a key. Um, it looks like he's trying to choose a background on that. Don't know if one has been chosen, but it's a really nice piece. Uh, and then cosmic made Adrian of the forest with, uh, uh, Joan d her, her Warrior, Joan Danger, just more excellent artwork.

Um, [01:07:00] Joan Danger just has so many great pieces of work, artwork around her. I love all of them that I see. Um, another really cool piece that I saw was, uh, the Cabinet of Curiosities, uh, by my friends. Um, this, this is a great piece because, uh, I, I don't, I don't think I've seen any cult content that happens on the Carnival Pass.

Uh, but apparently now there's this beautiful cabinet of curiosities sitting near the Carnival Pass. Um, you know, this is Dota. Okay. Uh, here's a little bit of Alpha. Dota has been talking a lot in the Magic Machine Discord about building this, uh, map making tool. Um, I have certainly talked in the past about how I want, uh, cult members to add to the map.

Um, so we will roll out tools on how to do that, but essentially, I really hope to see the cabinet of curiosities on this map. Um, yeah. Oh, since you brought it up. Yeah. This

Dotta: idea that like, we have characters [01:08:00] as, uh, like the, the people primitives and then beasts as, you know, as some animals. But I think really like a missing piece for us is this idea around cult content of locations, right?

So we have cult content of like, each character has a page in the book and you can write stories, and you can write about your character and do artwork. But we need, we need more tools around the places, right? Yeah. Because we need to put our characters in places. And then after that we'll put our characters in places in time, uh, and, and, and then our, uh, yeah, our lore tools will just be that much more powerful.

So

Elf: we're building a world y'all. Yeah. Um, and then Emma has two, honestly, probably more than two memes this week, but the two that stood out to me was, uh, my Little Rooney and the Roo, which are my Little Pony and Goonies, um, derivatives.

Bearsnake: Those were great. Also, uh, source for Ian of the quantum shadow with [01:09:00] the cross, um, cobalt and kfc.

Um, yes, you see that, that was fantastic. It's getting me hungry. I'll be honest. Also, uh, I did order KFC to the barricade this, this week, and it made me feel sick. It was disgusting. But it inspired me to, to bite in

PVA: some fried chicken,

Elf: bro, you should have went with Popeye's. I love Popeye's. I love Popeye's.

Totally. Um, okay. Also, shaman Voth, uh, did an excellent, and I mean, excellent. Uh, Jack-o-lantern. Yeah. Uh, pumpkin carving. Um, it, it, it's like, what what's really nice is like he, he, uh, um, retained the pixel style into this jack-o-lantern, and it's just stunningly good. Uh, it's very complex design. Yeah. I have tried pumpkin carving a handful of times in my life and I suck at it.

Yeah. Um, so [01:10:00] yeah, this is really impressive. Um, and then, yeah, and then two more, uh, tad major, I, I'll tell you what, I'm always seeing these little gifts that Tad major makes, um, either in the Discord or on Twitter, and I feel like, like I'm missing so many of them, but all, every time I see one, they're just stunning.

Um, so yeah, I, uh, I, I, I've, I, yeah, tad, I mean, always Tad's gifts are excellent. Um, and then finally, uh, artsy with, uh, Daniela Lutra, uh, is, is working on a really nice piece of the Nightmare Amp, uh, perfect timing, uh, for the trick or treat event. Um, so yeah, well done on that. Always excellent cult content. Um, speaking of cult content, uh, we have, uh, Sharon up here.

Hello everyone. Can

PVA: you hear me?

Elf: Yes, we sure [01:11:00] can. Hey, the law I'm reading today is for Hydro Maner Soren of the Psychic Leap number 55 64, and it's owned by Wda. Oh, I can't wait. Hang on. I just lost it off my screen. Here we go. Bromley reminded his wife, Soren was born a blue. His past was chosen for him.

Negati stood in front of the home where she had been born and stared at the horizon. The purple hues faded downward from light to dark as they melted into the field of Heather. A lone tears straight down her face. You really didn't think Thorn would come, did you? Bromley asked as he walked up, wiped away the tear, and then put his arms around her.

You shouldn't expect what can't be. [01:12:00] Part of me always thinks he'll show up. Noga pressed her head on his shoulder and wept. They stood there until the darkness joined the hug, and then the coldness set them inside early. The next morning, Herta went to her mom's garden and dug up several snap dragons. She gently tucked them into a basket along with the trowel and headed out into the heath.

The sun began to dry the mist that hung in the air, and as it did, it revealed a figure standing at her parents' grave Nagas face flushed as she blurted out. What are you doing here? Soren slowly turned around and tipped his blue hat and replied. Hello, Nagata. The funeral was yesterday. You missed it. Just like you've missed everything.

I'm here because he was my father too. Her [01:13:00] hands clutch. The handle on the basket tighter. You're a day late. Stepping closer. Soren said. I'm sorry. I couldn't make it any sooner. Why? I can't tell you. Maybe someday. Are you going to stay? No. I'm sorry. I can't. When will you be back? Soren glanced back to his parents' grave inside.

I see you picked snapdragons. I came here to plant them around their grave and sing them a song. Nagata walked forward moving out of her way. Soren studied his sister and childhood memories washed over him. Kneeling down Nagata took the trow and stuck it into the ground. You know Nagata Gia looks a lot like mom.

Only time's gonna tell whether that's a cursor, a blessing [01:14:00] dropping the trow. Nagata spun around. What? When did you see Gia? Her brother was gone. She was talking to the wind. There you go. That's it. Sharon, Sara's in the room with you? Yes. Where's Daddy is? Who's daddy in person? Oh amazing.

Oh man. The cult never fails to take it to the next level. That was great. I told him it's not my lore. He's gotta do some reading. Love it. Well done, Sharon. Thank you so much. You're welcome. Thank you. Um, forgotten punks. I saw you up here. I didn't know if you had anything to say. Um, but, uh, if not, I guess we will [01:15:00] close out.

Um, I don't know, uh, Donna Bear, uh, anyone else? Uh, anything else?

Bearsnake: Uh, no. But people look at, we're doing a lot of, uh, interviews, um, over the next couple weeks and, and also, you know, I mean, spread word about Halloween, if you're in other discords, you know, we're talking to a lot of these other projects. Um, but, you know, let people know, trick or treat these, these like thousand

PVA: or so knots from these partner communities I think are gonna go pretty quick.

Bearsnake: So, um, you know, we're excited to bring everybody in and

Elf: let's shout from the mountaintops. Uh, Matto. Hey, hey. I know we're going, we're coming in pretty long. And this was Wednesdays, but I have a, I figured I'd throw in a small update. We had, um, on the Univer blog. We actually did a production update last Friday, uh, on a poster right now on the secret tower.

But it gives it's small updates on some of the game progress. It gives a little [01:16:00] bit of the, the combat system, little bit of the music, some, some information on crafting and forging. And some like environmental, um, environmental, uh, artwork. We have a lot of artwork for, um, particularly, um, the, the Kaku Land.

That's actually one of my favorite places that I've seen artwork for so far. I actually, like, I, I pushed for like the, the team. Like, they're like, I was like, can we show this artwork off? And they're like, ah, we're not sure if it's really ready yet, or like, we're, we're working on it. I'm like, but I think it'll be really great.

It's a really magical place. It has like, like they do like lots of Rainbow Cloud illustrations and they have like these floating rainbow marbles in the sky. I think it's a really imaginative place and I love seeing stuff like this in the universe kind of come to life. And I think a lot of stories can come, like a lot of people can build stories from the Kaku land with like these kind of imagery, this kind of imagery in mind.

So, um, take a look at the blog I sent over. I just posted it in Secret Tower. And if you're looking for any kind of game updates, we'll be posted these a lot more frequently and just wanted to give [01:17:00] that small shout out in case anybody missed it. And please look forward to more updates from us. Thanks Meadow.

Yeah, I, uh, I love the Kku land as well. I've been working with, um, uh, the art team a lot on that. I, the Kku land is a, is a place we haven't talked much about and I, I can't wait to dive into the Laura on that. Um, but that we'll have to wait for another Wizard Wednesday. Um, we are way out of time. Anything else guys?

Vladimir Putin's requesting to speak, so. Oh, Vladimir, don't new us. Sharon and

Dotta: Daddy, thank you so much for your Laura reading. That was absolutely delightful. We love hearing you every time. Just your voice coming up on Wizard Wednesday. A smile breaks outta my face, so thank you.

Elf: You know, I, I'm gonna let Vladimir speak just, oh wow.

What's up Vladimir?

PVA: Hello? Hello [01:18:00] guys.

Elf: Hello. Nice to meet you. What's up? Alright, let's roll it. Let's roll it. Hold on. Hold on. What? Do you have anything? Anything to say? Yes, yes. Let's see.

Okay. Okay. Alright. This has been, thanks. I love letting Randall's up sometimes. Yeah. Uh, this has been El duh Zuki Bear, snake Hin Boyd Sharon Soran, the whiz Daddy, Joe Rackman and Vladimir Putin channeling out. Come the quantum down. Don't forget to put your on the door, Gian, everybody.
