Wizard Wednesday Ep. 31

=

Elf: [00:00:00] Happy Wednesday Wizards. Uh, big Tad, major happy day to all of you. Today is a big special wizard birthday for myself. I'm back in the land of bourbon and celebrating and I want you to all have a wonderful magical day on this all Wizard Wednesday. Happy birthday Tad. Thanks. It is Wednesday. We are wizards.

And it's time for our weekly cult meeting, a K a Wizard Wednesday, channeling in from the Quantum Downs. This is Elf and and there, and apparently it's Ted Major's birthday today. Happy

Bearsnake: birthday

Elf: Tad. I I, uh, I love your avatar with the little, the little cobalt with the, the rainbow. It's, it's adorable. So I wanted to, uh, talk about something really quick, um, to start us off.[00:01:00]

Uh, and it's about sort of the macro environment, um, which is always a concern to every crypto and NFT project. And I think we all know that the macro environment is, Effing crazy right now. Um, and I think there's a tendency to put a lot of importance on the macro environment, and it makes sense because the mac macro environment does affect all of these projects.

Um, but what I mean by the macro environment, I, I'm talking about just, uh, movements in the markets, events in geopolitics. Uh, governmental regulation, actions of the Federal Reserve and the s e c. Um, there's also a lot of focus on what other big projects are doing, like Apes and Yuga Labs, and we always ask ourselves, oh shit, how are all these events, uh, which are totally out of our control?

How are they going to affect us? Um, and the more I think about it, the more I realize [00:02:00] that these events. Don't actually matter as much as you might think. Um, I've told our team several times that I don't want to be a follower in this space. I want to be a leader. Uh, meaning if we see another project roll out something really cool, some great new mechanic or technomic, I don't want our first reaction to be, oh, we should do that.

And I don't want our first reaction to these other macro events. To be, oh, we should be afraid of this. Um, so what I'm saying, you know, it doesn't really matter what's happening in the macro environment. It doesn't matter if we hit some sort of brutal bear market, some sort of bear winter or some other project is sucking up all the attention.

Because I think our best defense against all of this is just to keep building, keep building in all the original ways that we see fit. Our North Star is our [00:03:00] own creativity, innovation and passion for this world building experiment. Building is our best defense. And so I think a lot about the ICO bubble of 2017 and even the the.com bubble of 2000, and how there's hundreds of projects in from each of those that are totally non-existent now.

But there are a handful that survived each of those bubbles, and we all knew who they are. And so the question is, how did they survive that? Did they, did they have awesome products? Yes. Did they have an awesome team? Yes. And did they just keep building despite the macro environment? Absolutely. Yes. And does Magic Machine and Forgotten Ruins have all these things?

I can say with certainty, yes. Yes and yes. And so I've seen a little bit of chatter about some people's feelings that we might be moving too slow. [00:04:00] I can tell you that It sure doesn't feel that way on our end. I, it feels like our team is traveling at warp speed. Um, And we, we've said before, previously that part of our mission in 2022 was, uh, the IP franchise path, for lack of a better word, um, which is just getting forgotten ruins into these legacy media expressions.

Um, you know, and legacy media just, it doesn't move at the breakneck pace of the crypto scene. Uh, I mean, even crypto related things take time. Um, you know, with every. Project that we have going from the comic to the show, the trailer, the game, the posters, the merch beasts, warriors, 3D Wizards, and a dozen other things.

Each of those individually have teams and full studios of people that we need to communicate and coordinate with. And because this brand is a whole new world, [00:05:00] These other teams don't have a lot of context. There's no real foundation that they can look at to start building things. And so every day, I myself am sending notes to all these teams, the 3D team, the comic team, the game team on how the characters look, what the world looks like, the history and the lore underneath, and throughout all of it, I'm pointing these teams to the book of lore and giving them the material that you guys are creating.

And it's this really weird and beautiful thing that we all are creating, and I can tell you that these teams love Forgotten Ruins. They are so excited to work on this. They are as excited as you guys are and they're not even wizard holders. And so just think about that. We've got whole studios working on property that you guys own.

It's freaking amazing. Um, so I just wanna say that we are building and we don't care what's happening outside. We're just gonna [00:06:00] build and we're just gonna innovate. And so, speaking of, of innovation, let's talk about beasts, Goda beasts. We've got some technomics on beasts, we've got some mechanics. What do you wanna tell us?

Oh man. So

Dotta: beasts are gonna be so fun. All right, so let's talk about beasts. So we're gonna release beasts, um, in seasons. Um, and so what that means is that the first set of beasts that we drop is actually gonna be relatively small. So this first set of beasts that we're gonna drop is only gonna be seven beasts in the first season.

And, uh, in the first season there are, it's gonna be an auction. Uh, so beasts are traditionally gonna be, um, a daily auction. So every day, you know, the price starts at zero. Um, if nobody bids, then the beast will just go to us. Um, otherwise people will bid for 24 hours. The top bid are wins. Uh, you can see it's quite a lot like, um, now and St insofar is that you'll be able to bid and buy.

Um, the theme for season one [00:07:00] is Beast Spawn. So you might hear this idea that it's like, oh, it's seven auctions. I'm gonna get priced out of this. You know, might be fun to look at, but it's not for me. That's not true. Um, you know, we'll reveal more as the time comes, but Beast Spawn is the theme of season one.

And so there'll be lots of ways for, um, hundreds of people

Elf: to participate. Yeah. So essentially what he's saying is even if you don't, uh, Win a Beast auction, that doesn't mean you are shut out from the beast ecosystem. Um, yeah. I don't know if we wanna reveal too much more, but it's, it's gonna be a community-wide thing.

It's not gonna just be limited to seven bidders or seven auction winners and that's it. It's gonna involve a much, much larger group of people.

Dotta: Yep. Tokens that a lot of people can get involved with, uh, you know, without cost, you know, other than gas.

Elf: Right. Yeah. And then, and

Bearsnake: part of that, and Oh, go for it.

And part of that was because, You know, we [00:08:00] understand, you know, the dynamics of a one, of one of one, and and I think we, we understand that, that yeah, some seea as a Wales game, I mean, really the option will, will define whether that's true or not, but really it, it, it's listening to you guys and understanding that the people who are in the discord every day engaging with one another and, and the community, you know, it, it's.

We can't just do thing for one segment. So, you know, it really, it was born from understanding that and, and wanting to make sure that, you know, you guys are listened to.

Elf: Yep. Yep. And yeah, it's, uh, and also like something Doda said about how the theme of season one is spawned. So another fun thing we're thinking is like every season we'll have a new, a new theme, a new mechanic, um, just a new little.

Spin. Um, so you know, it, when, when we very first started talking about beasts, we were looking at the nouns dow and how they do in daily auction. And we thought that was cool, but we didn't just wanna replicate [00:09:00] that. Um, you know, we wanted to first and foremost make this about world building and lower building.

Um, and so I think our unique technomics around this is going to aid that much better. Um, and of course, you know, every season the beast will come from the gate to the seventh realm. Um, there's even gonna be some fun. Uh, the, the minting process itself will be really unique. Um, I, I don't think we're ready to reveal that just yet.

Keep your enemies

Dotta: close. Uh, but keep your friends closer. Yeah,

Elf: there you go. Yeah, there you go. So beasts are gonna be awesome. It's, you know, for everything from the art to the minting process, to the mechanics, to the technomics. All the way through, we have, uh, thought each of these, uh, dimensions out thoroughly.

So it's, it's gonna be a really fun event. And, uh, according to this update graphic that we just shared, uh, The Beasts will be [00:10:00] released on April 12th. Yeah. Should we, should we talk about this update graphic a bit? Um, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, so, I mean, I think the first thing I just wanna make clear is like we def we put some dates on there.

I'm pretty confident that we're gonna hit them, but, you know, if, if we're a day or two before or after, don't crucify us. But, but bear the, the dates are really important. Bear, do you wanna share what you said about the light at the end of the tunnel? Yeah.

Bearsnake: I mean, it, it's something to the effect of like, You know when people, when when, when someone is kept in the dark, right?

And there's not a lot of information and. And you don't really, you can't construct like a, a very specific sort of vision for where it's headed. I think people, and maybe I'm wrong, but like people tend to think the worst, right? You start to, you start to think, okay, well nothing's happening. Um, and it's dark.

We don't really have a lot of detail, and you start to. You know, [00:11:00] I think I'm, I'm actually a pretty optimistic person, so I don't necessarily think ominous category, but in general, people just tend to get worried when they don't know, you know, and they almost sometimes think the worst. And so I think part of this was like, we're working every since, you know, as, as Al said, like we're, we're grinding every, every single day.

The only thing we think about is this project and building. Um, but not everybody knows that. And so it's important when you put a date out there, it, it, it's like it's light at the end of the tunnel. It lets people understand, um, where we're headed and where they're headed because, and where we're all headed.

And so I think that was, that was one of the impetus, um, impetus behind sharing the dates and then also just even like the silhouettes of a's art, I think, oh my God, I'm so excited to see. What these actually look like, but like the dates, the silhouettes, it, it gives you [00:12:00] something to sort of, it gives the cult something to grab onto.

And it, and it shows that, um, there's real work being done. And I think that can never be underestimated. And I actually even messaged, I messaged the, the guys, um, Like a half hour after we released the image and I was like, you know what, like not only is it good for the cult to see this, but damn, like it makes us feel good.

It makes us feel good, like we're actually sharing things and it gives us the boost, like when we share this and all the excitement and the, and the messages and the dms and like we, we, that is our lifeblood. You know, you guys are our lifeblood. And so when we share this stuff, You guys get excited. It allows us to get excited and it re-energizes us when we're on zooms all day long and calls and talking to studios.

And it seems very mundane, but when we have a chance to like lift our heads up, um, and, and speak out like this, it [00:13:00] it, it's really important for us and the team as

Elf: well. Yeah, the, the dates give, I mean, even me, a light at the end of the tunnel, it's, it's just really helpful to have a, a due date on stuff.

Yeah, I mean, like the first item is on the, uh, on the graphic is the TV show development show runners and writers. So Bear, um, I think it's time for a weekly segment, uh, update from the bear cave on the beach.

Okay. Before you get started, that sound effect is so stupid. If anybody wants to make us a better sound effect for that, please. Stupid. I dunno. I like it.

Dotta: Ok. It's,

Bearsnake: I feel like I should be wearing, uh, like a suit of armor or a jester's, a jester's outfit. Um, I'll keep, I'll keep it short cuz I know that like, I don't want to get into the routine of like, talking about the same things.

Okay. A couple little things. Um, now Jean is now coming to the Bear Cave on a [00:14:00] regular basis. I'm actually looking at a real human. He's here right now. What's up now, Jean? Um, that's been really nice. Um, he actually organized, uh, some die cut stickers. They came this week. I am littering. The entire west side of Los Angeles with these stickers.

Um, so I hope you guys see them. Uh, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, all that good stuff.

Elf: Didn't you have a total stranger come up to you and say, Hey, I, what's this wizard like? You were wearing a wizard sweatshirt. And they, they recognized it from the street. Yeah. Yeah. They were

Bearsnake: like, love your, love the project, bro.

Cool, cool. Oh, by the way, funny note, a family member was driving today. And saw a bumper sticker, a wizard. Bumper sticker.

Dotta: No. Whoa,

Elf: no. I'm dead serious. Didn't I forgotten

Dotta: for

Elf: sticker. I know that's

Dotta: up. We need a [00:15:00] screenshot.

Bearsnake: Someone's tower. Yeah. So someone's gonna have to Yeah, someone's gonna have to come clean on that love, love to see it.

And even doda, you said that, uh, you said you were walking around and you ran into one of our wheat pasts posters.

Dotta: Knocking. Yeah. I had a friend from out of town and I was like, telling was like, oh, I did this new wizard cult thing. And then, uh, we ran into a wheat base poster in Austin. It was amazing.

Bearsnake: So that's cool.

Uh, a couple other things. Um, big shout out to, uh, the Oracle Lochness. She, uh, we've, like, her and I have been working, um, with some people on a new set of, uh, a new, like the second MER drop. And I gotta say, this woman just drips with swag and style. She just, Freaking gets it. So lock. We love you. We appreciate you.

That's taking up a lot of time in the Bear cave. Amazing. So excited for that. There's also, [00:16:00] so there's like, there's like merch where it's like t-shirts and sweatshirts and sweatpants and, and all that stuff. We're not doing undies yet, but maybe in the future. Um, and, and then, so like that's more like the typical, the typical like apparel there is.

Also a very, very special piece, high end piece of apparel. I'll just say jacket, that people will be able to order very soon. Um, this thing like belongs in like, so it's like, it's almost so styl that like, I'm afraid to, I'm gonna be afraid to put it on, but that is coming up. People are gonna be able to customize it.

With their wizard name. Very excited for that. That's coming relatively shortly. Um, a lot of work on the comic book. Um, we got the TV installed on the wall, which is a big deal to us. Probably you guys don't care. [00:17:00] Um, and a lot of conversations around, um, a lot of conversations around, uh, publishing. So there's, there's some really cool like, book uh, publishing conversations happening.

And so yeah, that's the, uh, that's the weekly barricade

Elf: update. Yeah. Another thing about. Oh, go ahead. No, I was just gonna say a lot of things that Bear is working on and really the whole team just aren't, actually, not even on this graphic. You know, we might do a Roadmap 3.0 soon, but this, you know, this graphic is just like a few major events.

Anyway, go ahead, Doda.

Dotta: Oh, I was just gonna say, and then, you know, I know there's questions around the TV show and the showrunners and the writers, you know, Hollywood is notoriously secretive. I think really probably, we won't have so much detail on the showrunner until someone like actually signs. Right.

It'll be something where it's like months and months and months of just nothing, because you kind of have to like, Find the right people and make the right deal and meet and everyone has to get comfortable. Cause it's like such a huge commitment, right? So it still might be like a while before we [00:18:00] announce, oh, you know, we've got this specific person as a showrunner, but you know, just know those conversations are kind of happening behind the scenes.

And we'll let you know as soon as we're able to like talk about it publicly.

Elf: Yeah.

Bearsnake: Yep. Oh, and the last thing is the trailer. I think you said it last week, but we had to do a little tweak on something. The trailer, uh, with Tet Mouse is completely done. It's mixed. It's beautiful. Yeah. And we will show you guys at the appropriate

Elf: time, uh, on May 9th, actually.

May 9th. Oh yeah.

Bearsnake: Oh yeah, we put that on there. Sorry.

Elf: Um, yep. Okay. And then the next item on the updates is pony walk cycles. So, uh, I put out a call for an pixel animator, I think it was just last week. Um, somebody from the Colt stepped up and I want to, um, say a huge thank you to zero X Cosmo. I don't know if you're listening, but, um, man, this guy stepped up and literally [00:19:00] finished every single pony in like three days.

I was shocked. I thought it was gonna take a month. He did it in three days. He even got the six legged pony walking it, it, and it looks great. I was so worried about it and he nailed it. Um, so yeah, so the pony, like the art is actually done. We just need to, now it's in my to

Dotta: implement it, it's in my court.

Yeah. To get it up on the api, get all the algorithms, putting it, fitting it all together and get it out. So that's, Yeah, that's done by art and now it's over to engineering. And then I think related to that is also the souls walk cycles. And so we'll also, you know, keep working on that. There's a lot of different things.

Hopefully O X Cosmo can help us

Elf: there too. Yep. Yeah. And that will take more than three days. Um, but who knows, O X Cosmo is kind of a wizard, so we'll see. Um, next item on the update list is the, the Reever Land Sale. And so, yeah, so any of the Reever game stuff is obviously very tentative. These dates are estimations.

But, um, you know, [00:20:00] what I will say about the Reever game in that team is, um, I'm, I mostly talk to the art team at least twice a week, if not more. I love them and they shared a bunch of art with me, um, sometime last week. Holy crap guys. It's looking so good. And I'm not just saying that I saw like, um, artwork that's like, like, like part of the, the, the land and the environment and just like, like buildings and just like these little set pieces that are gonna be on the land.

It. Like, not only does it look good, but it just really expands the lore. It, it, it, like tell, like each piece of art tells you a story of what this world is about and the world is just getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

Dotta: And they've got a great team there. They've even got, like, I, I think like one of their art directors is even from other lizard, worked on some of the Warcraft [00:21:00] games and he's doing a, he's doing a good

Elf: job.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's so great. It's so great. Um, they've got like a whole magic system built out. Um, oh, and they are, uh, I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, they are up resing all the characters. Oh yeah. They look great. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, we've talked in the past about like, You know the reasons why I wanted to do a very simplified, low res pixel version of every character, of every wizard.

Every wizard is a roon. It's a creative primitive. Um, but they are actually up resing every wizard. Um, and they are updating the walk cycles. So I think a lot of you saw like that walk cycle test a month or two ago. Um, they are doing a back view of the wizard. So, you know, up rests, characters, full walk cycles.

It's just, it's really coming together. Um, yeah, by the way,

Bearsnake: takes, it takes a while to build a video game, everyone.

Dotta: Yeah. Yeah. And yeah, it takes a while to [00:22:00] build a video game, and it also takes even a while to kind of like get the pieces to a point where you're like, all right, we're ready to, these are, we're ready to share.

So, you know, we're working with them on the daily, they're putting together kind of their marketing, they're putting together their own trailer for the game and a set of assets and all of that. So, You know, so yeah, and just for context, for folks who are just joining, like, um, the Forgotten Universe, game and Land Sale and the beta, that's all, um, a collaboration between our team and by Sonic.

Um, and so we will probably have JDR up here, um, on Wizard Wednesday, um, soon Actually, he, he, he should come on. Uh, he he was on, that's right. He's been on. We should have him on again and people can ask questions and, uh, yeah, so that's in progress.

Bearsnake: And Alf, we should have, um, gosh, I've actually never spoken to him directly, but, um, who's the gentleman who's sort

Elf: of leading Yeah, yeah, yeah.

The, the art director on the team. Uh, we should definitely have him on. I've, I've asked. He's, he's really excited to come on. So far, he's just been too busy, but he'll definitely come on soon. Yeah. Great. [00:23:00] Um, okay, cool. We went over Beasts. Um, I think bear you briefly said something about the trailer, but Yeah, I mean, it's, it's ready, it's fully ready.

It's, uh, it'll be released May 9th. Um, no, I want it to be

Dotta: released yesterday, but I know, I know, I know.

Bearsnake: I can't believe we have to wait. Yeah, yeah,

Elf: yeah. And then, uh, warriors. So you guys see a lot of little warrior silhouettes here. Um, yeah. The Warrior Collection is fun.

Dotta: Uh, warriors Collection. Um, so there were some questions earlier we asked that people asked.

I'm gonna go through 'em, all the ones about Warriors. Um, it says, uh, any de if you chta Bob asked, can you drop any details on the count of Warriors? That would be interesting. Yeah. Um, I think that our current plan is, uh, 15,000. Um, I think that like, Plus or minus a thousand is on the table. Um, but it's like that, I think about that number, like 15,000 plus or minus a thousand.

Um, yeah. [00:24:00] And, uh, Panico said dumb question, but will affinities be a major part of how the Warriors are built as well? The answer is yes, of course. Absolutely. Heck yeah. Yep. Um, and that we'll use some of the same affinities as, um, wizards and then some new ones. Yep. Star Juna asks, uh, how do we qualify for land sale and Warriors?

Um, I think, you know, we'll, we'll give you like very specific details, right? Like, I don't want it to be, um, like some sort of, Frustrating experience. Um, but basically like if you hold at, at the very core, right? If you hold a wizard or a soul, n f t, um, then that will qualify you for the, um, you know, sort of like the main part of those.

Drops, like to be able to mint at those drops, like at the very least. Um, so I think that there'll be more things where people will be like, well, what about like ponies or what about the free this? Or what about an airdrop of that? Like, there's still a lot of like details that we have to work out, but I think [00:25:00] for example, like.

You know, if you wanna qualify for the bare minimum of like being able to pay for things within some sort of like whitelist segment, then of course owning the Forgotten Ruins tokens. It will be like a sort of entry pass to those. And if you're more interested in the things that are like. Well, if they're airdrops, how do I qualify for airdrops?

Those are always gonna be a bit more ambiguous, but they're never gonna be a surprise to someone who listens to Wizard Wednesday, right? It's gonna be things like participating in more creation, participating in like, um, you know, the things that we talk about. So, um, you know, I think mostly really airdrops for us are always gonna be around like active participants.

Um, whereas like, kind of qualifying for mince, maybe there's a bit more of like passive opportunities. So I, I know that's ambiguous, but that's where we are right now.

Elf: Yeah. And I also wanna say, um, so we've been talking about the nomination contest for Custom Warriors. Um, so Lochness is, is designing a contest.

Um, I think you guys all saw the [00:26:00] pony contest that we did, um, which, uh, congratulations to Tony Del Rio. I think you won that contest. Yeah.

Dotta: Um, and also

Bearsnake: again, props, props to the oracle she. You know, we had these ponies and she constructed this entire thing. So it, it's really, it's really cool to see it play out.

Elf: Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. So then, so the next contest is gonna be, um, nominations for who receives a custom wizard. Um, you know, I, I think, I think we're going to do a couple different, do this in a couple different ways. We're gonna do a nomination, then we might have like just a. Yeah, like a lottery to win, um, a warrior.

And then we might even do one other thing. So there's, there's gonna be several chances for you to get free warriors. Um, yeah. But that will, that will all be rolled out in the next few weeks. Uh, okay. Comic book. Um, as you can see, you can see one of the, uh, finished [00:27:00] panels in this graphic. Um, and yes, that is, A wizard who belongs to somebody in the cult?

I'm not gonna say who, but if you on that wizard, you probably know it's yours. Um, and that's all I'm gonna say about that. But uh, the company is looking fricking amazing. Um, bear Snake has found. How many cover artists do you have now? Four or five. Alright,

well

Bearsnake: just so we're spreading the love here. Now.

Jean has done a fantastic job of finding some comic book cover artists. We have, um, Belgium, what do we have? Like five or six or seven artists now? Six or seven artists. Um, I mean, some of them are just like, you know, uh, Diamonds in the rough that we found. Some of them are just straight

Dotta: up, like

Bearsnake: Marvel and DC uh, artists that are just, are blowing our minds.

So we, yeah, so we have a bunch of, a bunch of different, uh, cover artists [00:28:00] and then there'll be variants. I think we've talked about how some of the variants will play out, uh, last week, but yeah, it's

Dotta: exciting.

Elf: Yep. Yeah, it's a huge variety. It's gonna be a bunch of different styles. Um, and these covers, I'm, am I allowed to say they're, they're gonna be a free mint?

Bearsnake: Yeah, they'll be a free mint. Oh. Also about the comic book. Go ahead. Uh, we will now officially have, it won't be our own, but we'll be kind of taking over a booth at ComicCon San Diego and also ComicCon New York. So let's go, which is really exciting. And also we'll have street teams there just like giving out these, giving out these comics.

So it'll be cool to, to sort of see all that go down.

Elf: Yeah. If, if you're just now hearing about the comic, this is going to be a free. Actually physically printed comic book, um, that hopefully everybody here will be able to receive in one way or another. Uh, but it'll be totally [00:29:00] free. Oh, yeah.

Bearsnake: Also quick update ons.

Oh, go ahead. Sorry.

Elf: I gonna say that and the, the alternate covers will be, uh, free NFTs. Okay, go ahead.

Dotta: Yeah.

Bearsnake: So, um, I know I sort of like put, put a call out to the cult last week about, hey, if there's a comic book store near you, let me know. We secured a comic book publisher that, um, will now have our comic book.

What we're being told is in like, basically every comic book stored, not only in North America, but also internationally. So that's really exciting. Uh, I have, uh, an old buddy of mine has an indie comic book, uh, publishing company, and he's doing us, uh, a solid and, and helping us make sure that. The physical copies not only are at these events, but also

Elf: in stores.

Um, and then the universe beta in July approximately. Um, and then the Metaverse 3D wizards. You know, [00:30:00] we, I, I talk every day about to the studio who's pulling this off? They're looking awesome. Um, I, we did a few tests, I think last week of. Like making wizards dance, just like we put, um, some of the, uh, like, like there's a website called, uh, Mixi Maximo where you can just like copy and paste, um, stock animations onto 3D rigs.

So, uh, you better believe that we made a wizard do the empty shake just to test it out. That was our first test and it, and it looked great.

Dotta: And I don't, yeah, and I don't mind saying that. We also just reserved, um, the studio that's helping us do those 3D models, uh, to do warriors. So the plan is, you know, probably not on minting day.

Right. 0% chance we have 3D Warriors on May 11th. But the plan is that, you know, when you buy a Warrior, it's not just the, uh, pixel version, but you get a 3D

Elf: model as well. Oh yeah. Yeah. If it's [00:31:00] not clear, um, our NFTs come with tons of extras,

Bearsnake: so, and we'll be, do you know, and we'll be doing, you know, the walk cycles, the turnarounds, the full 3D warriors, like it's a nice little fun pack.

All

Elf: the goodies, and that's the updates. Uh, you know, I, I, I think I, I put at the, uh, I, I, I labeled the, um, the, the graphic with, uh, I said this plus so much more. And, um, yeah, I mean there really is so much more. There's tons of surprises. You know, it's like, I think our last roadmap, um, didn't even have ponies on it and we surprised everybody with ponies, which was huge on Christmas.

So, you know, there's all, there's still tons of room for giant surprises. Um, So, you know, this is just, uh, the updates on the things that we have already announced. There's

Dotta: a couple other questions, uh, that came from the [00:32:00] community that I can talk about. Um, sure. Well, JIS asked, you said, how do you guys do all of this at the same time?

And, and the answer is, well, one, we are very busy. This is all we think about 24 7. Um, the other is, is that, you know, there's, there's all of us, there's, there's the whole team. Um, not only for like Magic Machine, right? So it's myself, bear, uh, elf Lochness, Molly Nalgene, Niki Acrylic. So all of us are all like on full steam ahead, you know, with the game we have.

Uh, by Sonic, which is like a whole studio as a partner. They have, I don't know the exact number, but it's like coming up on 20 people, just all dedicated to the universe, game of pixel artists and engineers and marketing folks. And um, and then also for like the 3D wizards, you know, we have a team of. Um, I don't know exactly the exact, but there's modelers and folks who paint textures and riggers, um, that we've been hiring to pay.

And then of course, TIG Mouse has their [00:33:00] own set of, of animators and then the comic book. We have hired out people to do a. Um, one person does story, another person does the lines, another person does characters, and the fourth person does the coloring. There's actually two colorists. So you know, how we do all these things at the same time is really like just, just reinvesting everything that comes to us back into like creating our own form of cult content and then like drawing on the stories that you write in the book of law for inspiration.

So, Um, it takes a village.

Elf: Yeah. Yep. That's exactly right. Um, one tiny correction though, on the comic. Um, oh yeah. The guy who does the lines and the characters is, is the same person. Augustine, he's an amazing storyteller, uh, with images, so, anyway. Right, right. Yep. Um, and, and we actually have three colorists, uh, just to get it done in time anyway.

Ze lasso. What's up man? Hey guys, um, I just arrived here at the Boston

Bearsnake: Airport on my way out west. I was [00:34:00] wondering what's the plans for N F T

Dotta: L A,

Elf: uh, bear Snake. You got any plans for us? Uh,

Bearsnake: so we are, okay, so I think I put it in, in the chat and Secret tower. Um, you know, we're really focusing on, uh, NFT nyc.

We, I think we are going to try to put together something a little bit like more low pro profile, maybe similar to Denver. Um, we, me and Lock are gonna, we're gonna sort of, we have a couple ideas and a couple conversations happening. Um, but yeah, we will definitely do something. Um, just give us, give us a little bit and, and we'll, and we'll make sure everybody knows what's going on, but it'll, it'll be low key for most, for the most part.

Awesome. Thank

Elf: you. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we're, we're trying to have a presence at, at all these events. Um, you know, e even if it's, uh, just like a poster campaign, uh, we don't wanna miss any of this stuff. [00:35:00] So, um, yeah, I'll, I'll give a few little updates. So I myself am doing a Twitter spaces. Uh, tomorrow with, um, nameless N F t.

Uh, so it's gonna be tomorrow, which is Thursday at 12:00 PM Pacific Standard time. Uh, we're gonna talk about how NFTs can help story building and law based digital economies. Uh, and then on March 28th, that's a Monday at 9:00 AM p s t, uh, our very own Tabitha of the Marsh. Has invited me to a podcast with, uh, CRE Tokyo, which is, um, sort of a digital publisher.

And, um, we will discuss just forgotten ruins in general. Um, they sent me some of the topics that they want to discuss and I, I [00:36:00] gotta say, they are gonna ask some very good questions. Um, I think they totally understand what we're doing, so I can't wait to chat about that. Um, and so yeah, I will be sure to share these on my own Twitter account if you want to tune into these.

And then, and then, yeah, here, here's one. Another thing I just wanted to quickly say. Um, I'm very bad at answering dms, especially if you send them to me on Twitter, so I think maybe do feels the same way. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Yeah. So if you guys are DMing me on Twitter, I'm not answering. It's not because I hate you, it's because I just.

Can't, it's like I'm, I'm actually better at responding to dms on Discord, but even then I'm a little, like, I just don't have the bandwidth, but I promise, like, don't take it personally and, and I try to eventually reply. Um, so yeah. Yeah.

Dotta: I love getting messages from everyone who is like an actual person who's part of a cult, and I'll talk to you all day.

Um, but I think if I'm slow, it's [00:37:00] not personal

Elf: for sure. Yep, yep. Um, cool. There's a couple

Dotta: other questions from the, uh, question box. So someone asked, um, is there ever going to be a Wizard Coin similar to ape? Alright. So if you have been friends with me, Dota for more than. You know, two weeks you will learn that I'm allergic to tokens.

Um, which is to say like, I'm basically, I've seen a lot of good projects fail because they just tack a token on it and then it, um, and then what happens is everyone gets very excited and then it goes up quite a lot. And then, It starts to go down and a lot of projects never really recover from the face when it, when it goes down.

And so, you know, I think, let's say Ape Point specifically, they're like obviously, you know, top of their game and doing a good job. And that's, I'm not predicting the downfall of APE Token, but what I am saying is that I think like you have to be in a very specific place and have a very specific purpose.

Um, the [00:38:00] universe game will have mini tokens, right? We talk about with the game that, um, every item is an N F T. Um, and every resource will be a token, right? So if you, you know, are collecting limestone or swamp energy, all of those will actually be tokens. But the priority there really is around, um, Being a game that's fun to play rather than being a game that you like grind because it's your job.

Um, and, and being like it's create to earn, not, not like a play to earn game. That's sort of, You know, designed to be a new job. So, yeah, I think fund first there will be tokens, but when you ask, you know, will, will there be a ROS token? You know, like Wizard or ros or something that like, is the governance token for the, for the, for the universe world.

I don't see that in the near term. I feel like if we needed a governance token, we should just use the NFTs themselves. I'm not in a rush to, uh, release a token like that. Uh, but you know, I mean, never say never, but

Elf: not right now. Yep. [00:39:00] Yeah, we'll, we'll do it if we decide we need it. And there just, there just really isn't a need for it right.

Yet. Uh, yeah. But yeah, the token is, it's funny cuz Bar and I like, have been poking Dota about this for months and like, like I, you know, I don't know, token omics as well as Dota does. And I'm always just like, uh, let's have a token. Everybody else is doing it and Dota always gives an excellent reason why not So, Yeah, I've

Bearsnake: never been able to like even think of an angle of, of, of how to respond and, and sort of pushing push back.

So let's not do it. Yeah,

Elf: yeah. Like

Dotta: maybe eventually, but it's just like, like it's the opposite of lore, not floor, because then like the morale of your whole, and the point of your whole community is around like, How do we make this token worth more? And like you just can never like it, not the look at the best defi project that you've ever been a part of.

Like, it never goes up forever. Um, and I think [00:40:00] never say never, but not right now.

Bearsnake: Yep. Well, it's also like, I mean like, you know, we want the focus to be on the wizards and the warriors and the ponies and the souls and, and. As soon as you do the token, like every, the attention just moves off of that and it's like, ugh.

It sounds gross actually.

Dotta: Yeah.

Elf: Yeah. It, it, it just over financialize the whole project, and that's really not what we're about.

Dotta: Speaking of governance, um, the DAO is still in progress. Update from last couple of weeks. We're still like working through kind of the legal issues. Thanks for your patience there.

We're meeting with counsel this week. Um, and we'll keep everyone posted. You can like, Talk to everyone who's on the multi seg through the House of Wizards channel. Like we'll have more updates soon. Um, and then also Panico asked me to mention that I believe there are some risky whizzies uh, banding together for a burn party.

So they're like trying to get together, I don't know, [00:41:00] something like 10 or a dozen folks who want to, um, bring their wizards before the sacred flame and, and roll the dice. So if you are interested in participating in a burn party, hop in the live burn chat channel in Discord.

Elf: I love that there are still flames out there and there are still souls to be revealed.

I think we had a burn this week. Ah, that's so awesome. Yeah. If, if you're new, um, we, uh, we had a, we have a burn token called the Sacred Flame, which we dropped on Halloween, uh, last year. And, um, you're able to burn your wizard and transmute them into a soul, uh, wizard. Um, and a lot of really cool stuff has come out of that and there are still flames out there and people are still burning.

So I want

Bearsnake: a flame. I want a so bad, come on. I need to do something. I need to back.

Elf: None of us ever even got us a flame.

Bearsnake: God, I love the [00:42:00] solar so much. It's like one of my favorite collections

Elf: we have. Yeah, it's really great. Let's, uh, let's do some cult content shout outs. Uh, so I wanna quickly acknowledge that AR thing.

I don't know what it is, but, uh, eight by eight Bite Labs, uh, put out this really interesting video of a, of a wizard in ar. Um, yeah, do you guys know anything about this? I

Bearsnake: tried to do it and it wouldn't let me. I know it's browser based, but I go on their site and I can't figure it out. Maybe I'm too dumb.

Elf: Okay. But it looks amazing. Yeah. It's, yeah, it, it, it's, it's, I think it's in progress. Um, but yeah, it's, I think it's really cool. Um, and then of course our good friends at Rare Labs, I think they dropped three pieces last week. Um, one of them is titled Two Wizards, one Shadow. And at first I was like, oh, that sounds awesome.

And then I was like, oh, wait a second.[00:43:00]

So, yeah, but Rare Lab's always doing great stuff. Um, And then, uh, and then, yeah, I, this, this piece that Chuck K posted, um, I think it was commissioned by, uh, let's see, uh, Tanaka Koon, NFT of mystic, Willow of of the brambles. So beautiful. A clear inspiration from the, uh, the great Art Novo Artist, uh, Alfon Smca.

And, uh, that wizard is just a beautiful wizard. I, I, what I really love is, um, she herself has this like, delicate beauty around her, but then she's like of the brambles, which is very sharp and harsh and uh, it's just a really nice combination for a wizard. And then, uh, osma bro. Rolling as always, uh, with a really nice illustration, um, of the, the Seven Wizards of the Seven Hat Colors, uh, at council.

Um, Oz has got a, like, just like [00:44:00] three or four different styles that he works in, and they're all great. Um, so yeah, really great cult content this week. You know, you guys play a crucial role in what we are doing.

Dotta: Well, did we talk about. Merlin's Minecraft skins last week. I can't, I can't even keep it straight.

Which dates

Bearsnake: I don't think we did. I think he dropped skins bef between last Wizard Wednesday and now. Yeah.

Dotta: No,

Elf: we, we talked about it, but, but I mean, there's always more to say about it there. Oh,

Dotta: it looks really good. Well, I shared the tweet here up the top, so you can look at the shared tweets in the spaces.

So yeah, Merlin arranged for. All 10,000 wizards to be, uh, converted into a Minecraft skin. Uh, and it's really fun and there are instructions on how you can play as your wizard within Minecraft and N f T worlds. And they built out a whole universe and it's really, it's really great. I had my kids show me how to do it cause I didn't know how.

Yeah.

Bearsnake: Oh, and that's a, that's another [00:45:00] thing, um, not to, like, not to like, uh, fill up our dms more, but. You know, I think, uh, I actually, uh, spoke with Merlin, who was such a pleasant human to speak to. Really, really great guy. Um, you know, I think there's, there's something to be said for what he's built, but then there's the stuff that, and he's still building, there's still like phases in front that he has on a roadmap.

But the other part of it is like getting people in there. Um, and so I have some like random connections to, uh, Minecraft players who have big audiences on YouTube. But if anyone in the cult has any, has any swell ideas about how to, like, put people into what he has built, please, um, please ping me because.

It. We, I wanna build it. Uh, I mean, I mean, it's being built, but I, I wanna make sure that all the hard work that's been put in there isn't enjoyed. And as I think as people find out about it, they'll get excited. Um, so if anyone has any [00:46:00] expertise in the Minecraft world and. Any of that, just, uh, please hit me and I'll, I'll, I'll get back to

Elf: you.

And then, uh, and then finally, the always creative, always innovative, Dr. Pavlovsky with, uh, join the Cult, join the Milk Guild. A, uh, remix on, I don't even know what this song is called. It's like br my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Oh, it's so

Bearsnake: good. It's,

Elf: I don't even know who sings it. It's such a popular song, though.

Yeah. Um, but yeah. Yeah, it's, it's, it's really fun. Um, so yeah, I always love Dr. Pavlos. Pavlovsky always does really cool and

Dotta: also Rare Labs put together a montage of, uh, a bunch of the commissions that they've done from the cult. And I, uh, I just love it so much because I think that sometimes, um, it's.

Sometimes if you look at ruins from the outside, it looks like it's, you know, let's say [00:47:00] quote unquote only the pixel art, the lowest resolution. And I think there's so much life and so much story and so much word world building, um, through each of the commissions that Rare Labs has done. And so, yeah, check out that montage and it's just, I've had it set as my desktop.

It's so, so inspiring for the, for the

Elf: stories to be told there. Yeah. You know what, I'm also, I'm also looking at our timeline, um, drew at Access of the Grotto. Uh, This fun little animation where he's turning his room into a slice of pizza and then the rat's eating it. Who made that that, is that like a, a Wise Sam animation?

Dotta: It, it has all the touches of a Wise Sam special, but yeah, I don't know for sure. Yeah.

Elf: Ah, it's fun. It's got Pizza Rat in it. It's great. Awesome. Uh, cool. So listen, I think we have two law readings. Um, if you are scheduled to do a law reading, please, uh, just request to come up. Uh, we have about 10 minutes left.

Um, let's see. I think, [00:48:00] uh, all I know is we have someone named Steven and Neil who's going to read Laura. That's, that's all I know. So Steven or Neil, if you're, if you're ready to read Laura, just put it in a request. Um, and, uh, if anybody has any questions or comments, put in a request, we're happy to answer anything you've got.

Oh, Laura Punk wants to say something. Okay,

Dotta: great. I know that your allergies are bad, but we'll, we'll forgive you. Please come on. What's up, Margaret? Hi. Hi. Do you

Elf: guys wanna hear the curse song? Yes, the curse song. Oh, yeah. Margaret sent us a few songs like a few days ago. Um, yeah, go for it. All right. I'm just finding, I'm just finding the, the words.

Um, hold on. You're gonna sing a song while you have like a cold? I, I, yeah. Um, actually. Okay. Right on. Yeah. My voice is actually better when I have a cold

Dotta: because Yeah.

Elf: The, uh, this stuff is, is different. Okay, great. [00:49:00] And I'm just, I'm just pulling up the words. Sorry. Yeah. Um, Gibbs are, are you one of the, the scheduled law readers?

Cult Member: Hey, I'm actually a backup lore reader, so

Elf: we'll take Hey. Yeah. If he wants to go first, that's fine. All right. Yeah. All right. Well, GM everyone, gm,

Cult Member: GM. Today I'll be reading lore for Nero Maner Asus of the Wood number 4 53.

Bearsnake: Chapter one,

Cult Member: toad stools Tavern. The tavern door creaks open slowly. A light Misty breeze sweeps across the floor through the thick floorboards. A figure emerges through the mist. The metal on his boots clacking against the splintered hardwood as he appears around the small room, looking for somewhere private to sit.

The tavern has four tables and a bar top with a homely looking [00:50:00] couple tending the space. A fire rages in a large stone fireplace. The figure moves toward the back of the tavern past the few guests, all of them staring in fear as a silver boned face glistens against the dimly candle. It interior, it's raggedy brown canvas coat is held up by a big blue belt with a shimmering large square buckle.

He sits down at the table, secluded from the locals, is that an orange hat can be lightly heard across the room from a group of toads enjoying a few pints, a nowish, lightly whispers. We need to leave the tavern host approaches in a reserved manner. The figure's head tilts up and suddenly the host sees dark black fog within the skull where eyeballs would be she gasps something wrong, ma'am?[00:51:00]

A mysterious figure says an A raspy villainous tone, then no, nothing wrong. What'll it be for tonight, a steak raw and a bowl for my companion? As it taps the wooden table with its heavy silver index finger thump, a field dog's head emerges from under the table. Its eyes are as big as eyes are big and pure Black.

Its teeth slightly showing a scar runs along the left side of its face through its eye showing battle wounds from the past. The host immediately turns back towards the bar. Not a problem. The figure chuckles, he reaches in his front pocket and pulls out a small disheveled piece of paper. Omega oxbow is written lightly with a nearly illegible address below it.

The figure gazes at it [00:52:00] intentionally as black mist swirls out from its eye socket, several inches from its head. The bar keep quickly, drops a metal plate with a chunk of meat on the table, and then scurries back to her perceived safety. The figures gaze is immediately interrupted, and the black mist retracts the wizard.

Conjuress up a spell, waving his hand over the bowl. Kepi S Fury, the water spell the bowl fills with water in front of the tired pup and he slurs the bowl nearly clean within seconds. Sign of a long day's travel. Clink clink the plate's thrown in on the floor for the beast. Enjoyment gobbled down in just a few bites.

The pup relishes in the meal. Good girl Mamba. It says softly has this long silver bone. Fingers raced through the long, thick for the bar. Keep approaches and struggles to [00:53:00] say and anything else. Ha. Doubt you have any flames here. N no, sir. We've never even seen a sacred flame, let alone a, a forgotten soul around these parts and scram it.

Exclaims the bar keeper runs back behind the bar and moved toward her husband for safety. He holds it tightly with one hand the other, holding a blade behind him. The figure throws a few coins on the table and makes its way to the door. Pausing for a moment, staring at the few folks in the bar, looking at it with fear.

Enjoying the intention for once mist slowly fills the tavern door again, as the silver figure slowly opens the door. The maid in the pup stand outside the silver bone shimmering in the moonlight. Almost glowing. We'll get our flame. Sweet girl. This will all be over [00:54:00] in time. End of chapter one.

Elf: I love it.

Uh, the, the whole time I was thinking this is definitely a Nero man story. Yeah. It's so, and, and I love the way he used his water spell to fill his dog's water dish. That's great. I, I

Cult Member: picture his voice sounds like, kinda like CAD Bain from Star Wars is

Elf: what I invaded. Oh yeah. Right on. Uh, cool. Thanks for letting me read, gang.

Thank you. Yeah, that was so much fun. Hey,

Dotta: we haven't had so much like dark war, dark lore either or from characters. Uh uh yeah, I, I don't remember any Scully lore actually.

Elf: That's true. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think that's like the first like sort of darkish, evil ish wizard. I think we've heard from, it's, it's great.

Yep. Thank you. Uh, and more. Punk, are you, are you, is your, is your song ready? I found the words. I'm

Dotta: ready. You're, you can sing us the closing song.

Elf: Yeah. [00:55:00] And I'm working with some other wizards, another wizard to get some music to this. So this is called the Curse Song. May you step upon my servants when you rise.

And the last thing you'll ever see are two cold ruby eyes perish so painfully ord by a rogue rogan chanted. Boy, I hope you die. Oh, I hope you die. I hope you die a very painful death and curse my name with every last get excruciating breath. I'll remember you in my grim war and have a little cry. I hope you die.

Oh, I hope you die. [00:56:00] May you chance upon a golden enchanted ring. Place it on your index finger and you'll never feel a thing. May the tooth and pit engulf you with no chance to wonder why. I hope you die. Oh, I hope you die. I hope you die A very painful day. Your tapestry of fortune, rods of anguish to the left, I shall scatter all your cattle.

Let your grain rod wear it. Lies. I hope you die. Oh, I hope you die. Your coffin will be painted, shining white. On a cold and windy morning weepers blinking in the light. Oh, so patient and so brave. I [00:57:00] will piss right on your grave. I hope you die. I hope. You die. Wow. The, the theme of today's lores, death and darkness.

I didn't even know

Bearsnake: you, you weren't singing that song to me, were you? I

Dotta: have

Elf: goosebumps. I'm not cursing you. Bear snake. There's no way We need you. We're not

Bearsnake: noting you. It, I just wiped my brow with

Elf: sweat. Yeah.

All right. Thanks for cursing all of us, Margaret,

Dotta: from smiling so hard.

Elf: Don't.

All right. Well with that is there, uh, anything else, any more death wishes that anybody wants to express?

Dotta: I think that's enough

Elf: for [00:58:00] today. Yeah, that's a good place to end it. Let's, uh, let's kill the show. Right. Um, alright, well this has been Elf Doda lo punk Margaret with her curses Bear Snake from the Bear Cave on the beach.

In his Nero Maner, channeling out from the Quantum Downs gm, everybody.
