Villages all throughout The Wild tell children stories about Nonozoon, a notorious little spirit that sneaks out of The Fey at night and causes all kinds of mischief. There is no rhyme or reason to his attacks, although they are usually harmless like spilling garbage, turning signs upside-down, and teasing livestock. Every once in a while he is caught, but according to the stories he is so ridiculously cute that his captors immediately set him free.
