Half eagle half snake, this chimeric relative of the cockatrice inhabits The Sand. They are a unique species because they can transition between being cold and warm blooded depending on their needs. They become warm blooded before flying great distances, and become cold blooded during droughts or the month-long sandstorms that sweep across The Sand. When cold blooded, they often bask in the sun and burrow into the sand for safety and energy conservation.
