This intricate system of bronze gears and dials appears to have been designed to predict astronomical events and is considered to be the first computer in the Runiverse. Historians believe that ancient Wizards monitored movements of the celestial bodies with its crank-operated gear train.
The mechanism's primary purpose was likely to assist in calendar-making and to guide the timing of festivals, though it's possible that seafaring Wizards used the device for navigation of the treacherous Great Blue Water.
Meta Lore
Antikythera Mechanism is an Athenaeum Item resulting from a collaboration with Magic Machine and Yuga Labs for Otherside. Though it is considered part of the Athenaeum in the Runiverse, the NFT resides in the "Otherside Partner Loot" Collection.
The Collection's description states:
"Partner Loot are interoperable within the ecosystem of their partner collections."
Visual Difference
Unlike Athenaeum Items released by Magic Machine directly, Otherside Partner Loot items are distinctly differentiated in appearance by their border on a gradient background.
