Wizard Wednesday Episode 4

Elf: [00:00:00] All right everybody. Welcome to Wizard Wednesday. This is Elf.
=Wizard Wednesdays Ep. 2=

I said this is Elf and Dotta. Thanks Dotta channeling in from the quantum downs. The last three days on Twitter, a battle has raged. It was wizards versus ninjas for the expansion, punk dominance. On the second day, the ninjas seemed to have the edge. The only force seemed all but triumphant. But at the 11th hour, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the wizards cult rally, and we quashed the ninjas with a legendary 51% victory.
Elf: [00:00:00] Okay. Bam. Tweeted it out. Great. Um, okay, let's, uh, let's just go ahead and get started. Um, let me look at my notes. All right. Welcome. Did you dotta.

I want to thank the cult for that victory. It was absolutely incredible. Um, we'll talk more about that later in the show. Um, but first, as always, I want to start out with cult member shoutouts. So the [00:01:00] last week, we've seen lots of amazing artwork from our members. Uh, let me start out with Twitter user Oz, who did two amazing pieces.
Dotta: Yep. Did you at mention in the secret tower? I did. Okay. Sorry. Go ahead.

Uh, we got the, uh, ghost kitchen that he made for the infamous wizard, ghost Eater, Beth Shiba. And then he also just today dropped an incredible scene of his sorcerer, equate of the Sun, um, on his travels donor. Did you see that one? It's so good. I stared at it for like longer than I should have. Yeah, it's it's just beautiful.
Elf: Yep. Okay. Uh, welcome to the second Wizard Wizard. Wednesdays, uh, Ethereum is pumping one day ahead of the highly anticipated London hard fork.

Yeah. I love his work. Um, then we had, uh, Magus Devon of the Quantum Downs. He commissioned a piece from our favorite CG artist, Trevor Jones at Yeb come in. Um, so this is the first time we got to see, uh, Magus Devon in full 3d. It's a beautiful gif. [00:02:00] Um, we also had our good friend Magus Tamba, uh, tweet his friend Brenda, with a beautiful painting.
And here we are, Elf and Dotta channeling in from the quantum downs. Okay, so I just wanna say, I love saying that in the most cheesy radio voice I can muster. Um, what I wanna do in the future is get some really dorky sound effects to go along with that. Perfect. Okay. Um, and so the first thing I want to do is give some cult member shout outs.

Um, Brenda has been painting, uh, portraits of Wizards. Um, you guys should all go look at that post and read her story. It really touched my heart. Uh, I, for 1:00 AM probably going to commission her for a painting and I would suggest many of you do the same, same thing and send some love her way. Um, we also had, of course, tad major as always, with some excellent gifts and animations.
I've seen a lot of you guys making some beautiful [00:01:00] wizard artwork and so I want to give some credit, uh, first to maggot of the Mount. Uh, he put my, uh, forgotten rudins rant to music and so I've been sharing that. That's a lot of fun. If you guys haven't heard it, give it a listen. Um, super cool. Uh, I also wanna give a shout out to, uh, I believe he goes by the name of Wise Sam, the Viper on Twitter, and he has been doing some amazing animations.

He did the hilarious O BJ gif. He did a, uh, wonderful Jack of Lanter and pumpkin animation, and one of my favorites of his is he took a little na xxs wizard, put it writing a broom, and then we took that and featured it in our first TikTok Post. Woohoo TikTok. Yeah. And we'll, uh, we'll talk about that more here in a bit, [00:03:00] but it's super exciting.
Um, so I'm gonna start sharing more of those. Keep it up. My favorite. Yeah, he.

So thanks for Tad major for that. Always good work. Um, speaking of always good work, we had wise Sam the Viper with another great animation, uh, of a wizard summoning rain, which summoned a tree, and then the tree burned, and then the rain came back and summoned again. The whole circle of life was in the animation.
Dotta: He does commissions too, so, uh, yeah, I know. He's one of one of a few members that do commissions. So we'll get a list up on the website too, of, of, of folks if you want to give animation.

Um, we had, I think that was for Sumner Isaac of the Marsh. Yeah, perfect. Exactly. Uh, we had Twitter user t dog, who, um, apparently his wife hung their wizard in their Traverse property, which I thought really tied the whole place together.
Elf: Love it. Yeah. The last one he did was of a wizard eating a green mushroom and vomiting a rainbow.

Um, yeah, I love seeing our wizards in, in other metas. Um, we had Bard Peso of the Canyon with, uh, an excellent labyrinth goblin king meme. [00:04:00] Um, very cool stuff. The Goblin King is definitely a part of Forgotten Ruins Me, uh, metaverse. Um, we had a member of the Cobalt Horde. I think he's a member of the Cobalt Horde.
It's gorgeous. Uh, so yeah, it is on our Forgotten Room's Twitter account. Check that out. [00:02:00] Um, another highlight, which I'm sure you all saw was En Chanter, Orbis of the Road, did a little collab with a Twitter user named John Bivins Is amazing, amazing freaking, I love it so much. Blowing. Um, you know, what I love about it is, number one, his wizard is super cool.

Uh, he's called Belden Belden D or something like that on Twitter. Um, he did this hilarious gif of the Cobalt chanting. One of us, one of us. Uh, the Cobalt horde is always up to semantics. And then we had, uh, Twitter user TV 3 6 36, uh, with just a very simple, beautiful gif animation of their wizard and their moon staff going through the full phases of the moon.
It's one of the, the Orbis wizards, it's just got a big eyeball as a head. But what was really cool in John Bivins drawing was the, the, the snail familiar. Um, yeah, in the background, it, it just like gave a whole new significance to like what it means to have a snail as a familiar, it's so cool. Um, I really hope to see more of John Bevin's work.

Um, and I think that sums it up for our cult member Shoutouts. Doda, do you have any.
Um, maybe will even hire him to do something.

No,
Dotta: Is that Alpha? Yeah. Alpha drop.

Dotta: but it does play into one of the things that I worked on this week that I will share. Um, the, [00:05:00] uh, we added a page for commissions on the website. So let me share that in the.
Elf: Yeah. So good. Um, elsewhere, uh, discord member y m just DMed me with [00:03:00] this beautiful, uh, pixel forest scene that he built for his wizard. I'm gonna share that on Twitter very soon.

Madotsuki: Uh, secret
Dotta: Is that a Magus Ronald of the sun? Yes, it is. Oh, so good.

Dotta: Tower. Uh, so we're getting some reports that it's hard to hear you, elf. I, I, I can hear you perfectly fine. Um, but the few people in the Discord are
I couldn't believe it. I was like, yeah, this background

Elf: saying they came here.
Elf: is so good. It's incredible. Yeah. Um, yeah, so, yeah. Uh, and of course our barred Margaret has been writing more poems for more wizards. Uh, those are always great. And I believe she is still taking commissions. And then other art and animations I've seen randomly are by Twitter users.

Oh, that's, that's terrible. So,
Tad Major Julian Let Low Zach Jamo and Alchemist lumos of the capital. I want to give you all the big thanks for the work you've done. Yeah. And if I've missed anybody, um, please just tag at forgotten rooms and we will certainly share it. Um,

Dotta: yeah. So we just, yeah, I can hear you fine. Okay. Um, we just added a commissions page for the Wizards Art. This is a very first draft. If I
Dotta: yeah, I've had Tad in the dms and one of the things TA Tad asked is he was like, [00:04:00] oh, can I, you know, my friend, I made a wizard for him.

Elf: didn't add you, I apologize.
Can I mint that wizard GIF as an N F T? And the answer is yes. Yeah, please. You know, if you make a derivative work of the pixel art, um, and you wanna mint that, that GIF as an N F T and you sort of, you have permission from the wizard holder. Of course you certainly can. Um, and you asked, oh, but I know you're doing the book of lore.

Dotta: Well, there's a form there, um, for, to get yourself added, but we've got on there, um, bread wise, Sam, Margaret, uh, John Bivins, Oz, Trevor Jones, tad major.
Is there any special. Uh, is there any special format I need to follow to get it to work in the book of lore? And the answer is no. Um, as long as it's an n f t minted in sort of any sort of, kind of like regular way, like if you use, you know, uh, opens, see, or r or any of these, uh, wearable you can use, um, uh, you'll be able to fit it in the book of lore.

I know that there, there's, there's
Elf: Yep. Yep. Um, okay. And, uh, speaking of artwork, um, here in the Quantum Downs, Dota and I are super busy with all sorts of bonus content. Uh, I myself have nearly finished drawing all the angles of [00:05:00] the heads. And so just to recap what that is, um, currently wizard holders have a three quarter view of a head on their wizard, three quarter view of the entire body really.

Elf: still like a bunch of people who do commissions in our community, um, who aren't there. So
Um, and so I am in the process of drawing the side view and the front view and the back view. And you will all, at some point in the near future, get a full turnaround of your wizard character in pixel art. Of course. And why are we doing this? Number one, it's just cool. Number two, um, the grand plan is that you will be able to use your wizard in Metaverses.

Dotta: this isn't so much the book of lore. Of course. Right. Like the book of lore we're still working on. We'll get that as soon as, uh, as soon as we
Um, we are, we have every intention to make our own metaverse, but also we want you to bring your wizards in other metaverses from other

Elf: get the dev done. We can talk more about that today.
Dotta: creators. And so these turnarounds are the very first step

Dotta: But the, um, basically this is a [00:06:00] page that one where everybody can show off their work, um, in, in who does commissions. And then also really it's just a place that, you know, if you do commissions, you can get listed on this page. Um, and we'll list, you know, your work side by side from the wizard it was derived from.
Elf: into allowing you to walk in 360 degree directions.

So check out this new page if you want to be on it. Um,
Dotta: Um, it's gonna be great. I, I'm really looking forward to it.

Elf: or if you wanna be taken off of it,
I like wanna walk around with, uh, my wizards and I'm [00:06:00] super looking forward to it when we can share some

Dotta: just let me know. Uh,
Elf: of these artworks. Yes. So much fun. And yeah. And I'll, and I'll be, I'll be sharing work soon. Um, the, uh, progress of that, um,

Elf: and yeah. So check it out. Excellent. Um, yeah, that sounds great. Um, so yeah, are there, are there any questions about that or anything we've said so far? We've got a few speakers up here.
Dotta: you won't have to wait until it's fully

Dotta: Yeah. If anybody wants to come up on stage, feel
Elf: finished to see the progress. We'll, we'll slowly share progress as it, as it comes along.

Elf: free to raise your hand.
Dotta: Uh, can I talk about the book of,

Yeah. And then just by the way, later in the show, we're gonna have, uh, Magus, Devon, um, give us some lore about his wizard. So I'm really excited about that. Uh, we had, uh, Alchemist Lumos last week give us lore about his wizard. It was beautiful. Um, so we [00:07:00] wanted, we wanna do that more often. We wanna highlight wizards on Wizard Wednesday and to talk about their lore.
Elf: uh, Let there, there, I'll have a good segue for that here in a second. Okay, great. Yep. Yep. Uh, so, but yeah, in fact, let me just, hold on. Let me check

Um, okay. So yeah, if there's most Yeah, that's, that's a great idea. Yeah. So if every Wednesday, if
Dotta: my, um,

Dotta: you want to tell some lore, if anybody wants to volunteer to tell, tell some stories about your wizards. You know, last week, ZLA Soul told a story from his, uh, we just love that. So, yeah, I don't wanna pass over that every week.
Elf: okay. Yeah, let me just touch on forgotten souls really quick and then we'll segue to the book of Lore. Um, so we are making progress on that as well.

If anybody wants to share. Um, we've got a slot or two. For folks to come in. And so we'll, we'll try to get better about being organized about Yeah. But you can just like, let us know
Um, we have fully designed out the numerology involved. We have designed out the risk reward system. Um, now I know that many of you are excited to burn your wizards and you should be. However, I will warn you one should not be too eager to [00:07:00] deal out death and judgment for even the wise cannot see all ins.

Elf: and just work out. Yep, definitely. Um, okay. And yeah, so as I mentioned, um, tad major, uh, animated, uh, little NA zero X's wizard.
Uh, so keep that in mind when the great burning happens. Uh, now as far as lore and mear meta-narrative, I will. Let Dota speak here in just a second, but I just wanna say, um, a lot of you have been DMing me and asking, uh, about lore and meta narrative for the Forgotten Ruins world. Um, I am making a ton of progress on filling it all out, but one thing I wanna say is, I will not be putting this out in some grand blog post or some post on our website.

Um, and then we put that in our first TikTok post. So you probably saw earlier in the week we started a TikTok. Um, we hired a super talented [00:08:00] person to handle that. Uh, she is currently in the audience known as Lochness Monster. I'm gonna let her tell us all about her, um, her operation. But I'll just say right off the bat that when we interviewed her, she, a few days later, she turned in this amazing, um, this like pitch deck for us that just outlined her whole plan.
Um, I have no intention of just publishing a Silver Meridian type of compendium that covers all of these details. And why am I saying that? Uh, several reasons. One, being we are neck deep in discussions with other partners [00:08:00] in releasing forgotten ruins, animated shorts, comics, and a game. Um, all of these different mediums have strengths and weaknesses in how they deliver lore and meta-narrative.

I was super impressed by it. She's super professional. What really, like caught, caught my eye was she like used wizardly terms in her pitch. Um, she used like magical language and it just, it just showed me that she really understood what the project was about. And then when she, she made that hilarious, um, animation song remix and put it on Twitter.
Okay? Okay. And so, clearly forgotten Ruins has never been about just delivering the information in a boring, straightforward way. Um, we want to leverage the strengths of all of these mediums in telling it in the most engaging and mysterious, and, uh, Mysterious way that has, uh, the most entertainment value.

Like, I watched that thing 20 times and I laughed every single time. Um, so luck. Miss, uh, without further ado, uh, [00:09:00] tell us about yourself and tell us what you're gonna do. Hey folks. Super excited to join the Colts. And hello. I just love how active and dedicated this community is. I've been dabbling in the NFT space for a little bit, but I haven't seen anything as like interesting and engaging as the wizards and as a wizard slash switch myself, i r L.
Um, but I can tell you this for sure. Um, all of the story is already in the collection, okay? When we do it animated short or something, we will not be just creating a, creating new wizards out of whole cloth. We will always respect the collection 100%. And so that [00:09:00] means you will always see a wizard from the collection.

Uh, this project definitely sparks some passion within me, so I believe that there's magic brewing every day within this community, and I'm super stoked to see it pop. Uh, I'm really here to amplify our voice, our influence in the social vortex, empowering every wizard here to conjure up content, whether it's comedic, whether it's lore based, uh, a simple meme.
In these other, other mediums, you will see yourself represented. Um, and so if everything goes to plan, the kinds of questions that you will see answered are like, why is it that the skeletons in the collection are the only ones with technology? Why are there six hat colors? Why does the word quantum keep showing up?

I really want us to grow our influence across the space. I feel, uh, like this is very much so slept on and [00:10:00] super stoked about using the content the. Animations, the lore you guys share and remixing that on the various platforms, and especially on TikTok, because that's like the platform where you can grow the most, like exponentially.
Who is the key master? Uh, is the goat? My avatar actually evil or is he just a scapegoat? These and many other questions will be answered in due time in these other media expressions. Now, that said, I have also tried to, um, maintain this idea of decentralized law building. And, um, so many of you are writing stories and doing art about your wizards, and it has been so inspiring and so amazing thus far.

And our strategy there is really to use kind of like an invisible cloak, not really having any context as to who we are, what we're doing, just putting wizards up there and making it funny. So we had right, the, the remix with the, um, RuPaul sound that's going viral right now. So putting that in the context of the Wizard World, the intersection there on TikTok is really untapped.
You've only been able to tweet it on [00:10:00] Twitter or put it in discord. The book of lore, which I'm gonna let Dota talk about, is a way for us to collect all of these things in a more, in official way, um, so that they can bleed into all of these other media expressions. And I believe Doda is making tons of progress on that book of lore.

And I believe that we can be influencers in this space and we can make every wizard an influencer. Um, the influencer of space could definitely use us. So yeah, I, yeah, I'm just having fun making. A ton [00:11:00] of content memes like our pi pizza meme. Super fun to make. So if you have any ideas, anything you want me to remix into social and to publish on our channels, I am so happy.
So take it away, Doda.

Send me an owl via Discord or here on Twitter and we can talk about it. Awesome.
Dotta: Yeah, so I mean, I, I can talk about what the book of law is. Um, you know, I see a lot of Wizard profile pics in this chat, so I wonder if, um, ho hopefully folks maybe know most of the details. But the idea is that, uh, there will be a section of our website where you can go and navigate, uh, the book of lore, which will allow you to attach artifact, NFTs to a particular wizard.

Dotta: Yeah, so you can find Lochness on our, uh, on our discord. Um, she's there and so she'll be around, you know, watching of course, uh, art and lo but also you can, you know, send her messages if you want to kind of like bump it up.
Um, and to be able to kind of tell the story. And we've got a set of permissions, um, where the owner of the Wizards will be able to have, uh, control over being able to add new bits of lore. Um, and then there's even a mechanism by [00:11:00] which, uh, you can, it doesn't necessarily have to be linear. You might be able to do some, a bit of ordering to that lore within the story.

So, yeah.
So, uh, yeah, we've been building that out. We deployed. Um, the alpha version of the contract to Rinka Bee this morning. Um, and then we are writing out the, uh, like design documents for, um, the ui, uh, right now. So, um, I'll probably be getting some help from, uh, Niki who's in our chat, who might help with some of the development there.

Elf: Yeah. That little intro you gave Lochness just sent my mind in like 20 different directions. So like, the first thing I love about your approach is like that whole invisible cloak post or, um, idea. Like, cuz that's sort of been like, um, a guiding principle or forgotten ruins from the beginning is like, you know, Keeping the mystery alive, posting things [00:12:00] without context, not explaining everything upfront.
But I'm writing out specific documentation. If you, for example, are a React developer, uh, JavaScript dev and you want to help out with some of the UI there, um, you can reach out to me and we'll be working on that this week. We've just about got the like front end design docs done that. I'm so excited to get this out.

Like if you're J like, like that little first post you put on TikTok of a wizard, like flying around on the broom, dancing to RuPaul. Like if someone comes to that cold, they're just gonna be like, what the hell is this? I have no idea, but it's hilarious and I want to know more. I love that. Yeah. I think it's gonna be really fun to see how many people are like, what is this?
Um, I think there's like, uh, you know, there are gonna be many. Points in a wizard's life that will be documented, um, in this book of lore. [00:12:00] You know, the Great Burning, for example. We wanna do the book of lore before, um, because it should be built into kind of that process that that event is written into the history of the wizards and, um, yep.

As the page grows, like who are, who are these people? What are these things? Exactly. Yep. And then, and then the other thing I love about it is like, okay, it's, it's a wizard owned by little NA zero X tad major. Took that wizard and made an animation to it. Then you took it and sing it to a RuPaul song. And like so many people were involved in the making of this silly little thing.
So yeah. So we're working on this and that's

And so like, that is the whole nature of this decentralized lore [00:13:00] creation project. Um, I j I just love everything about it. And, and like, furthermore, it's like, like our, our cult has been making really beautiful, sophisticated artwork. They make really high polished animations. They make really elaborate poems and, and, and stories.
Elf: where we are. Yep, yep. The book of Laura is probably the, one of the most exciting things about this project. It's kind of the whole point of this project and, you know, I I, I, we've had a lot of users express concern about like, well, I'm not really a writer, or I'm not really an artist.

But I also think there's room for these like super silly, ridiculous gifts. Like there's room for all of it. And, and I think TikTok is where most of that is gonna be, but a lot of that can totally bleed into, uh, Twitter and, and, and other platforms. Totally. Totally. And I think the special thing about the memes and the funny lighthearted content is that for the people who aren't as a depth in the Wizard world or in the E N F T world, that is our, like, how do you call that?
I don't, I don't know how to write. That is totally fine. Number one, you do not have to write, you do not have to make art. Um, we have, if we've done our jobs right, we have hopefully empowered hundreds of other creators to do that, to lift up the entire collection. Um, but I would also say, Even if you don't consider yourself a writer or an artist, um, you might surprise yourself.

Our link between those two worlds. That's how we can create that intersection and build on that. And in [00:14:00] our other communities, you know, they can be very educated or become educated rather. And, uh, I believe that our Discord community really supports that. When people come in and they say, Hey, I just bought a new wizard.
Take a stab at it, at the [00:13:00] book Allure. I mean, number one, you're gonna be anonymous, so who cares if it, if you think it's dumb, nobody's gonna know it's you. And number two, again, you're, you're gonna surprise yourself. Like even if you write something really dumb and funny, that's perfect. That's who your wizard is.

The amount of support that they receive is great. And, um, I think that's unique to our community. So using that lighthearted, um, wizard relatable content Yep. Really helps like bring those people in. Absolutely. It makes it a lot less intimidating to be in the N F T space. You're absolutely right. Yes. Our, I mean, yeah.
Um, so yeah, I would just encourage you to take a stab at it

The, the, our, our community has been growing, the floor has been rising. Wizards are just on an upward trajectory and it's, and it's all because of the cult and the community. And you guys have been working your magic every day, summoning your wizards within and putting your ruins on the door. It's just been like, we are the most, I think, [00:15:00] organic community, one of the most organic communities out there.
Dotta: and Yeah, exactly. Even if you're not an artist or, uh, a poet or a musician or any of these things, um, there are still ways in which you can kind of like replicate your wizard in a particular way. So, um, I have, um, you know, I. Like my kids, for example, even have started building out like little sculptures or paintings of their wizards.

Um, and yeah, I mean, I could say more about that, but, uh, we had some people just come up Tad major. I saw you just came up. Would you like to say anything? Yeah. Hey, I'd like to just introduce myself and say hi. Um, it's been such an honor and so fun to, uh, do some of these animations, set some banners up, see people starting to use some of the art.
And, um, there's, there's, you know, or maybe you po paint it on a mural or, or maybe you don't do any of that. And we still will help either fund community grants [00:14:00] or you'll just appear in a show regardless. Um, and so there's a lot of ways for these other bits to be created. Yep,

Um, seeing it up on Twitter. Um, kind of like you just said, the. Community here is so supportive. And, um, our growth has been really focused just from the core group, kind of creating things and having fun, uh, with what we're building here. So, I mean, anything that I make, please feel free to share, change, uh, make derivatives of that.
Elf: yep. Um, and then just two more things and then we'll go to the ama.

Um, just kind of like watching it all come together and, um, there's some ongoing things. We're working at some collabs between different people that have been doing, uh, some of the artwork together. Uh, so it's been a super cool, welcoming, warm space and I think it's, [00:16:00] it's that, uh, that community that we have that is really driving this project, uh, to grow so well.
Um, we also have some interesting, um, merch projects going behind the scenes. Um, nothing too specific right now to, uh, tell you about, but we just, we have a lot of options on the table, some very basic ones, and then some very involved elaborate ones. Um, so hopefully I can tell you more about that next week.

So it's, it's really cool to be involved in it. And, uh, I I just really appreciate all the, uh, all the support
And then one other thing, we've got bubbling, go ahead. Briefs. Oh, do you wanna say something about that Doto.

Madotsuki: from this community.
Dotta: I just said we're, we'll make some goat head briefs from like MeUndies.

Dotta: Thanks. Yeah. We really love seeing your animations all the time and yeah,
Elf: Yes. Hot pink goat head briefs. That's what I want. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah, me too. Yeah. And then, um, and then in person gatherings, um, hopefully this is the sort of thing where I would actually wear my hot pink briefs and nothing more.[00:15:00]

Elf: it's really, really great. Yeah, I was, I was really impressed at how well it was synced to that RuPaul song.
Um, oh boy. Okay. And so, no, we, uh, we're actually talking to a gallery in Venice Beach in Los Angeles about potentially doing a little, uh, wizard art show. So for anyone who lives in Los Angeles, uh, hopefully you can attend that. And if you don't live in la, um, if this one goes well, then hopefully, we'll, we will be coming to your city thereafter.

Did Lochness, did you have to like adjust the timing of the, of the animation to make? Oh, woo. It is a little time consuming, but it is a hundred percent worth it and I don't mind watching it over and over again to make
Um,

Madotsuki: it happen. Um,
Dotta: yeah, I, I'd like to go out if it's there. And, you know, I think Coronavirus is maybe a big question mark as the delta variant surges. It's like, what can we do? Sure. But I'm super excited about the meeting. Other wizards in person. We, we sent out a survey. Um, uh, last week or the week before and, um, asking folks where they live.

Elf: I have a lot of other funny tos coming out, one that will be dropping like at three today, which will be really fun to watch for you guys.
We'll, we'll bump that again. Um, but if you haven't filled that out, we'd love to know like what the nearest metro area is to you, cuz that affects like where we do Yeah. Art gallery, night game night, beers, d and d murals, all these things. Like, if we know where you are, then we [00:16:00] can do a better job about organizing real world events.

Great. Um, but yeah, you do have to sync the sound. Um, I am finding that I did not waste $40,000 on my first year [00:17:00] in film school, so that's great. Um, because I went on to
Yep.

Madotsuki: marketing, but
Elf: Yep. And uh, you might have to wear hot pink underwear to get it. That's all I'm saying. Ah, that'd be amazing. Okay. Um, and I, okay, so I think that's all the updates I have. Uh, Let's turn it over to the ama. Um, if you'd like to come up and speak. Yeah.

Elf: uh, yeah, I am using those skills here,
Dotta: Just raise your hand. Well, I have one thing. Yeah. I want to give a shout out to Matsui and Brad.

Madotsuki: so. Awesome.
Um, if you haven't checked it out, they have a new project. I don't think this is private, so, you know, mat Suzuki tell me if I need to be quiet, but, uh, they're working on a new project, it's called ame. And I think it's really interesting, um, I'm not maybe butchering the idea, but it's somewhat like, um, this idea around like paper dolls where you're able to have, um, when you mint, you actually get a set of, uh, you get a set of, uh, attributes and then you can trade those attributes until you fuse and finalize, uh, your N F T.

Elf: That's great. So speaking of, uh, uh, wizard leaving
And so [00:17:00] I'm pretty excited about it. I've been like chatting with them in the dms and I, I think it's like, Really creative and really well done. And of course, you know, Brett is the artist and she's just magical and everything she touches. So if you haven't checked it out, I think they posted the link to the Slack somewhere in Wizard Channel, but it's called, uh, ame.

Dotta: his room at the door, we've left our roon on a wall here in Austin.
And yeah, I don't mind, uh, Zuki or Brett, if you wanna post that in the chat. I think anyone who's a wizard should for sure

Um, and you know, acrylic has been leading the charge on these murals and the first like paint has, has hit the wall, uh, fu which is great. We got the images today. Funny story. We actually don't know the address of where that wall is. Uh, the artist, you know, she's been telling us about it and sent us the pictures and paid.
Elf: check it out. Yep, yep. It's gonna be an awesome, oh, there's, I just said it's gonna be an awesome project.

And, you know, has neglected to tell us the actual location. So it's a, it's, it's secret even to us. Uh, so hopefully we'll find out and soon and tell you the exact address. But, um, along those lines, we've also put together a page about like where all the murals are that we, um, have and the ones that we [00:18:00] have in progress.
Dotta: Um, there's one other thing on that regard before we get to the ama, which is around, um, I've been talking to, um, pixel Boy who's in charge of the Pixel glyphs project.

But the part that I'm also super excited about is, um, The, the instructions at the bottom will teach you how to commission your own mural in your city. So we're gonna keep doing our own. We want to keep like, um, you know, organizing, but like, of course we can only do so many. And we've, I've had a few people, um, reach out and they're like, Hey, how do I get a mural made in my city?
He's working on something that is also really cool where, I don't know if you're familiar with this idea of Gravita, um, soar is like, you know, like old from WordPress days, right? You attach a. Um, uh, uh, like an avatar to your email address. And then any website that [00:18:00] supports avatar, which is like pretty much all of 'em would fe would pull from the, um, it would pull from the, uh, avatar database and show your image.

You know, we've got a few of us who wanna like, get together and fund it or something. So, um, we've left like, super specific instructions on that page on how to do it. Maybe I could talk through it in just like super brief. Yeah, go for it. Um, it, yeah. So it's cost, maybe it's not cheap, right? It costs probably between a thousand to 5,000 depending on your city.
So what Pixel Gloves is doing is they're using e n s names. So e n s is like the Ethereum name service. You know, people can have like whatever, Dota dot Ether or whatever your handle is. That's why you can see an Ether Scan, for example. Uh, you know, some people when they buy NFTs, they, you can see their name.

Um, We, most of the ones we've ordered are around like 5,000 for two different murals. So we're getting like a 10 by 10, uh, of one wizard and then like a 10 foot long by like three foot high of like three different wizards. Um, and these were just picked by, we just decided like [00:19:00] wizards we thought would be good for that town.
Um, and what he's building is a system, uh, that uses, well, I actually have to ch double check the, the specific technology. I don't know if he's using, um, e n s specifically or if it's e n s. Like, I'd have to double check. It's not finished yet. But basically Wizards is gonna be one of those sort of like whitelisted early, um, N F T projects that you can use as your, uh, decentralized, uh, avatar.

Um, you sometimes can, in theory, like find an artist who will do it just for the cost of paint, right? If you know someone or you know, a wall or whatever, um, you can probably get it done for like a lot cheaper. But, you know, if you're just like, no, I wanna pay for it. I really want it to be good and want it to happen.
Profile. So you, this is really cool to imagine like, just like how ethers scan, for example, supports your handle that attaches a name to your Ethereum address. You could also [00:19:00] attach a profile picture of which one could be Wizard uh, to that. So yeah, keep an eye Pixel Cliffs is a cool project and um, wizards is gonna be kind of a early supporter there.

Um, the instructions are here really like the, the, the basic idea is like find, like pick a wizard. Find an artist, um, find a location and then like make sure you communicate with them what you want and then pay them. Um, you know, there's a few details that you wanna keep in mind. One, just on the location, like, we wanna make sure wizards are good citizens.
Yep.

So just make sure that like if you pick a wall that kind of, the owner wants that image there, it really helps if you show them the image ahead of time. Right? Most, like, I think most of the wizards are really charming and people will want them, but you just have to check. Um, and then some of the artists, they'll also.
Elf: Uh, maggots, did you, uh, have a question?

Um, they [00:20:00] will find the location for you. Like if you pay someone generally finding the location is part of kind of the uh, uh, what you're paying them for. We've used Thumbtack, we tried a lot of different places. We tried Craigslist, we tried this, we tried that. Lots of places. There's a way of to site thumbtack.com.
Dotta: Oh, oh, sorry. Hi. Um, yeah, uh, I just wanted to say hi, guys. Uh, this is Zla Soul from Discord. Oh. I'm just, I'm just operating on JI'S profile and then I'm recording from Lumo, so I, I'm in charge of those two wizards at the moment. Cool. Um, cool. Let me see. Yeah. Oh, I wanted to do maybe a little bit of like getting to know the devs a little bit.

Um, and that's where we found the most success in just like being like pretty reliable, um, being able to get quotes really easily. So I would just say go to Thumbtack. Um, and then we recommend like reaching out to several cuz it just takes some time. Um, and on this page that we've written some templates, like you literally can copy and paste these templates and send 'em as an email.
So I wanted to start with Doda. Um, I wanted to know what's the deal with this, this Muppet character. I mean, I'm a big like Jim Henson fan. I was just curious about that.[00:20:00]

Um, but I think that like a couple of concerns to keep in mind. One is like you gotta tell the artist that it's pixel art and that they don't need to stylize it. Right. Like send the image and be like, I want this. Exactly. And some of the graffiti art that we've seen of like other projects that's like pixel arts.
I love. The Muppets so much, but there's something deeper about it that I love that it represents. Um, so I mean part of it is just like whatever my age, like I'm a millennial and grew up watching the Muppets and I just always have loved it. Um, one of the things that I'll do in my spare time is like I actually create like, uh, like Jim Henson style, like puppets, um, out of like foam and of like taking courses and I dunno, I think they're decent actually.

They don't like even use a ruler, they just like eyeball it and it looks awful. Like, so we wanted to make sure like we even put in the template, be super [00:21:00] specific about, um, that you want that it's pixel art and it needs to be a grid and like perfectly straight. Like you have to tell them that. And then the other part is like you need to make sure the location, like the location might be, they might just choose some like random wall where nobody ever walks.
Um, I'm not really a puppeteer so much in that. Like, I sometimes I feel like adult men who do puppets kind of seems like mentally unstable, but I just like to build them. But I think the deeper, the deeper like love there is this idea that you kind of take these materials that are just nothing, right?

You want it to be a good location and you also want it to last, sometimes there's like a, an artist's mural wall, um, and like you don't have to pay, but you're just gonna get painted over like a week later. It, so like you don't wanna pay, you know, $3,000 only for it to be like painted over like the next week.
You're like a stack of foam, you pick up a hobby lobby or like some felt or something and you sit and you work it and then you create life out of it. Um, one of [00:21:00] my favorite, for example, hobbies, Um, to do is like needle felting. I swear. Like if I get rich on NFTs, my hobbies are gonna be like a 70 year old grandmother.

So you just need to kinda like double check those things. I try to talk about that in the post. Um, but you know, it's pretty straightforward in terms of if you just are willing to pay. So yeah, if you decide you wanna do a mural in your town, um, yeah, let us know. I know that there are people in like all different areas who wanna do more murals in.
But like, so like needle felting you, you take, you literally just take like fluff, right? It's these little fluff balls of like, um, like, uh, wool. Um, you just get like these little balls of wool and you get a needle and you just push that wool in the needle. And, um, and what hap and over time this barbed needle, um, causes all the fibers of the wool to tangle with one another.

We'll probably do a room two, so. Wizards,
If you just look Google on Pinterest, like needle felting animals or something? No, I, I watched them. Would you see is like, sorry. I watched a, um, a documentary, it was like the Elmo documentary where the puppeteer really went into like, detail about like the felt and everything. So I'm kind of following along.

Elf: go and leave your room on the wall. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and like you said, we'll, we'll figure out the location of this one in Austin. I thought I heard somebody say it's actually [00:22:00] painted on, on a wall of an, of an, of a, of a video game arcade. I don't know if that's true.
It's really interesting. Yeah, even for the Muppets too, um, they basically used this type of felt that's called, um, [00:22:00] Oh, I forget the, I forget the type of it, but basically when you look at sort of the synthetic fibers that you might find at a craft store versus the fiber fibers on a Muppet, you can tell there's a little bit more like sparkle, a little bit more depth to it.

Yeah, that's what I've heard too, but I don't. Okay, cool. Um, let's see, we've got another request. Um, yeah, so, uh, anybody wanna say anything about all that?
And there's really only one manufacturer remaining that do this sort of felt. Um, now this kind of pel that, and they're ba located in Pennsylvania. There's only one factory left in the world that can create that like m Muppet style felt. And so it, it's just this really special fabric, like Kermit's fabric is so specific.

Hap happy to
Anyway, with needle felting, what you basically are doing is you're just taking literally like fur that you got from a sheep and you stab it with a needle and you kind of like shape it and you can create like life and characters and like, you can cr just like from nothing. Like you could just sit from like $5 of materials and now you've created this character that you can like walk around and play with and as a toy.

Dotta: open it for questions too. Like, we have other agenda stuff, but if anybody's like, oh, what's going on with the game? What's going on with the book of, Lord, what's going on with the forgotten souls?
And so I think that like kind of process of creating life from. Like almost nothing, like a bit of fluff that turns into life is sort of the magic of wizardry. Of, of artistry. And, [00:23:00] um, I think like Jim Henson of course did such a good job on that, and I've always like, loved, um, you know, the Moham Naski for example.

Elf: We can talk about that. Yep. Yep. Um, mag, so Devon, are you raising your hand right now? Is it, is that what that is?
And so, no, no, I, I think, I think it's something about like information coming through, like the Muppets and things like this, that it bypasses our, like, logistics side of thinking and we're better able to absorb it because it's coming from such a playful place. So I really like, yeah, I resonate with that.

Madotsuki: Oh, uh, actually that was by accident, but Sure. I was actually gonna ask a question about the, the recent storyboard that you got out. Oh, I meant, I think I meant through, I think I through a laughing face. There we go. Anyway. Oh, okay. But yeah, I was actually gonna, that was perfect cause I was gonna ask the question anyway.
Elf: Yeah. Duda, I got, I gotta second your, um, passion for needle felting. I think needle felting projects are often, I've awesome. I've never made any myself, but I, I get it. It's super cool.

Um, but the [00:23:00] storyboards that you guys have been putting out, um, those, those are really, really great. Um, do, do we, um, are you planning on having those released, like maybe like, um, like biweekly or like maybe once a month? Or how, how, how do you plan on doing that schedule? Cause I was actually surprised that another one came out so fast since the last one.
Dotta: I've got a box of Woo. So when you come over next, you can

Elf: Yeah. I, I would love to do it every week. It's probably gonna be more like biweekly. Um, the thing that's involved with that is, so I've been writing the stories. Um, I send the story to this storyboard guy I know he actually lives in Germany. Um, he's just really good. I've been, I worked with him professionally, um, in the past.
Elf: build something. You, you know what old lady craft I also think is super awesome and underrated.

Um, and then, yeah, it, it takes, it just, it takes him about, I don't know, maybe three or four days to a week to do the boards. Um, if he does 'em in black and white, it's obviously faster than if he does it in color. The biggest reason we colored this one is because [00:24:00] like when he first handed it in, in black and white, it wasn't clear that there was fire involved.
Um, CRO, I think it's called crocheting. Where you like Yeah, like just sew, like a design on like a white piece of fabric. Is is that called, is that [00:24:00] crocheting?

So I was like, oh, we have to color the fire red. Otherwise it, it's not super clear what this is. And then he just colored the whole thing. Um, And it was amazing.
Dotta: Crocheting is when you just have the yarn and you, um, oh, like you use the, the sticks. Okay. To, to st to like make like a scarf. Yes. Maybe what you're talking about is like stitch a

Dotta: I was just like blown away. I've gone back and looked at them
Elf: crus stitch.

Elf: so much. I love it. Yeah, I love it too. Yeah. Yeah. So we definitely wanna do more than more of those.
Yes. Cross stitch. That's what I meant. Yes. Yes. In fact, let me just,

Absolutely. Um, hopefully biweekly, you know, and, and the biggest reason for those is like, this, is, this is just yet another way to teach the community about the metaverse of Forgotten ruins. Um, you know, I, I can actually transition into that. I was actually gonna, um, dispense some, some overworld lore today.
Dotta: oh, I have one more question and then maybe I can pass it over to the next person. Sure. Sorry, we're talking about cross sticks now. Okay.

Um, Yeah. Yeah. And, and I think, and I think I wanna do that in these Wizard Wednesdays more often, just drop more hints about the, the, the meta narrative and, and the overall lore. Um, you know, at first I [00:25:00] was like, no, I wanna be super secretive and just drop it in comics and animation and stuff. But the, the, the, the demand from the community has been so strong to just, they, like you guys just everyday DM me wanting to learn more.
Elf: Sorry. No more. Oh, I was just, I'm not just

So I think I'm just gonna like, verbally deliver a lot of it in these Wizard Wednesdays. Um, so I. Yeah, from the storyboards, what we learned is that, uh, magic can drive some users crazy. Um, in this world, magic is a very unpredictable, powerful force. And just because you may be classified as a wizard doesn't mean you've con you can control ma magic.
Dotta: joking.

It doesn't mean you've mastered it. Um, in that story, we saw a pyro manzer who has just been utterly consumed by his magic, and he lost his mind. Um, and that can happen. That can happen in this world. Uh, magic is just, it's a very powerful force that not everybody really knows how to control just yet. [00:26:00] Um, you know, that said, some wizards in this world are definitely masterful, but some it just, it controls them.
Elf: I'm totally joking. Go ahead. Hold on. I just wanna say one thing.

Um, so yeah, I, I, I could definitely say a lot more about the magic, but I. Another, another thing I want to talk about as far as the meta-narrative is the political factions. So while magic is definitely a big force in this world, um, politics is also a huge force. Now, a lot of this story and narrative is sitting right under your nose in the collection.
I just wanna say one thing. If anybody out there can cross stitch my wizard, I will buy that from you. That's all I wanna say.

Everything I'm writing is already in the collection. Everything I'm writing is also already on the map. If you study the map and if you study the collection, you'll already know so much about it. Okay? And so as far as the politics is concerned, um, in the collection, you'll know [00:27:00] that there are wizards who have seven different colored hats.
Dotta: Okay. Oh, there's non fungible rugs and she does like physical rug versions of NFTs and I've been talking to her since before we launched, and I love, I really want, okay. Also was that ze soul that I interrupted.

There's yellow, red, blue, green, purple, brown, and white. These are the political factions that. Run the world of Forgotten Ruins. They all have their own identities. They all have their, their own strengths and weaknesses. Um, they all cooperate with each other and they also scheme against each other. There is heavy political intrigue going on constantly in this world.
I was like completely joking. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah, yeah.

On the map, you can see the Red Wizard capital, the yellow wizard havens, and the blue Wizard Bastion. Okay, so what we don't see yet is green, purple, brown, and white. They certainly exist in this world. The map will be expanded to show them, but today I can tell you exactly who yellow, red, and blue are. We will probably find out more about them in [00:28:00] a comic and or animation, but at this moment, I'll tell you what exactly red, blue, and yellow are.
Elf: Please, please. No, go ahead.

Okay. So if you look at the map, we've got the Yellow Wizard Haven. They are situated in Krono, Manzer Riviera. You can think of the Riviera as a sort of Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, or, um, the island of Ibiza off of Portor, Portugal. This is a place where people go to have fun and spring break. They are youthful, they're hot, and they're sexy.
Dotta: Um, now this question was for El um, I was wondering where you got the name EL from [00:25:00] and what's the deal with the Tiger girl on

Now the biggest enemy of youth is time, and this is why they're krono. They manipulate time. They manipulate time so that they can party all day and night and so that they can stay young. Um, what else is fascinating about it though, is they are the closest region to the quantum shadow. And I can talk more about the quantum shadow in the future, [00:29:00] but I'll say this now.
Elf: your profile? Um, elf is an anagram of my real name and, uh, tiger Girl. Yeah. So that was, that was the, um, the artwork I was making prior to Wizards.

The quantum shadow is the perceived threat in this world. Emphasis on perceived, um, um, So how is it that this young, youthful spring break region, uh, is so close to the perceived biggest threat of the world? Well, it's because of the Battle Ma Mountains that separates them. The battle Ma mountains are who, uh, ostensibly is, who's protecting this, this paradise.
Um, I was, uh, I mean a lot of my, my work before wizards just deals with like animals and people's relationship to animals. Um, Yeah,

Okay. So the strengths of, of the, of the yellow wizards are they're, they have vitality, they have stamina, they have energy. They're carefree, they're happy, and they're joyful. Their weaknesses are, they're shallow, they're unfocused, they're debaucherous, they're unserious, unlearned and generally unwise. So that's the, that's the yellow Wizard Haven.
Dotta: so, so you should know that Elf in real life is, um, Like a huge animal lover. Um, you know, I think for years his profile picture was him holding like a baby faw and like, where do you get a faw?

That's where the yellow wizards hang out. That's the Krono Manzer Riviera. [00:30:00] Next we have the Red Wizard Capital. You can see them on the, um, Western coast. They're right across, they're right on the shores of the salt. Uh, the Red Wizard Capital is cosmopolitan. They are elitist, they are wealthy bankers and they are focused on money.
Like, we have Fs in our neighborhood and they won't give me, let me get anywhere near it. But he sort of has that kind of, um, like care and gentleness and I don't know, maybe it was someone's pet fn, but they still wouldn't surprise me if you, you were just like, no, that was a wild f that I just [00:26:00] found. And like, if you flip through his Facebook, which I won't tell you cuz he is an A whatever, but elf has pictures of him with like lizards and like fur babies and like, you know, baths and they're like, so animals appear in his art cuz like animals are a part of his life.

You could think of them similar to New York or Washington, dc There's lots of political intrigue happening here. Lots of deal making, lots of commerce, and they are sort of a cultural center. Their strengths are, they are cunning, they are politically powerful. They're very wealthy, and by leveraging their, their, their financial strength, they can get a lot of things done in this world.
And,

Their weaknesses are, they are elitist and snobby. They are detached from the people. They are wealth obsessed, they are materialistic. They, they, um, are obsessed in, uh, cronyism and they are oligarchs. [00:31:00] And then the final wizard faction we can see on this map is the Blue wizard bastion. Now the Blue Wizards are the academics.
Elf: um, yeah, I, uh, I lived in Costa Rica at one point and all I did all day, every day was hike around in the jungle trying to catch poisonous and deadly animals.

They love libraries and learning. They are philosophers and scientists. You can think of them as, uh, Athens of ancient Greece. This is where all the learning happens. Uh, these wizards are in fact the most comfortable with technology. And so yes, technology does exist in this world. However, technology is generally considered inferior to magic, and I'll talk about more on that relationship later.
Dotta: Uh, Yeah. Like real life Pokemon. Yeah.

But the strengths of the Blue Wizards is they are highly intelligent. They are well learned. Uh, if anybody could build technology that would challenge magic, it is them. Their weaknesses are, they are overly intellectual. They are ivory tower type of academics, meaning they have [00:32:00] tons of knowledge, but they rarely apply it to the real world.
Elf: Um, yeah. Thank you.

And so that's the three factions that we will cover today. Um, next week I will go over green, purple, brown, and white. But, um, the red, the yellow and the blue are who a lot of our stories will focus on in the beginning. Um, and like I said, they, uh, these, these, there's there, these political alliances are shaky.
Dotta: Yeah. Um, oh, oh,

They are loose. Some people in this world are very adherent to their political factions. Some hate the political factions. Just because you wear a red, yellow, or blue hat doesn't necessarily mean you are d devoted to that, that cause. Um, just like in our world today, political factions are often fast and loose or they can be, um, extreme, uh, centers of devotion.
Elf: oh,

So, yeah. Does uh, anybody have any comments or questions about that?
Dotta: oh. What's up buddy? Hey, everybody. How you doing? Hey, uh, I'm good. I don't think I've ever heard your voice before.

[00:33:00] No, that was awesome. Gotta say that. Awesome. Great.
Hello. I know it's,

Madotsuki: Yeah, that was pretty cool. I actually brought a, a lot of, uh, the, the, a lot of thought of, uh, the quantum shadow. I was already kind of thinking about the quantum shadow as being, it's a very mysterious, kind of ominous spot on the map. So I already had a, a clue that it was, there was more to what the quantum shadow was and, um, than what initially, uh, people probably thought.
I hope it's not disappointing you. Um, no. Yeah, you can call me. O o works, I think the best. Okay. Tea. Easy. Uh, okay, great. [00:27:00] Yeah. Trying to work out whatever. I'm

Yep,
Elf: done. I just want, since, since

Elf: yep. Yeah. Yeah. The quantum shadow was a very mysterious place. Um, I've, I've got it all written down on exactly what it is. I don't wanna say just yet. Um, but it's definitely the perceived threat and all these political factions, if they were focused on one thing, it would be how to deal with the quantum shadow.
Dotta: we've got you, since we've got you on here, I just want to give like a public thank you to all of your help moderating the channel.

But like politics today in our world, Everybody has a different solution. Everybody thinks it's something different, and so they're never gonna agree on how to deal with the quantum shadow. And of course that is to the quantum shadows [00:34:00] benefit because nobody can unite to fight it. Um, cool. Doda, um, what else you got?
I feel like you've done just such a good job over the last few, like, whatever it's been month and, um, yeah. Thank like, uh,

Because I've got a lot of other things I can say.
Elf: just so glad you talked. Yeah. You were with us from the very beginning, so, Very beginning. Yeah.

Dotta: Sure. Uh, first off, yeah, thanks you for sharing those things. It's, I am so excited to see this world develop and along those lines, um, I think just there's a lot, a lot of progress in many of the other areas that we've talked about. Um, like operationally, um, we are still working on the show.
Dotta: Thank you. No, yeah. Um, I appreciate you guys too. I think, uh, this project's really cool. I like the vibe you're kind of delivering through the art and also, um, in what you're kind of doing in terms of, you know, maintaining this hair of mystery in their own.

Uh, the shorts. They're really promising things there still in development. We also have been meeting about the game with our development partner. So we've even done, uh, further dev, uh, let's, like further steps have been taken there. We're hoping to kind of have some negotiations with them this week. We're like so excited and so [00:35:00] optimistic about that, and we're like really looking forward to telling you guys, uh, more about that soon.
The project at the same time I think is actually quite powerful and creates a bit of space for, um, the community to kind of fill in the gaps, which is really nice. Thank you. Um, I was gonna ask a question about the, the Sprite sheets. So, um, you might have read it in the sea guitar today, but I was wondering, um, I [00:28:00] know we're getting the turnarounds first, but then after that, so I imagine this is some way down the line.

Um, something a little bit more near term is the. Book of lore. Um, so again, I want to give, uh, a shout out to, uh, the Coding Guild folks. So this is like, uh, you know, TV and uh, we've also got, uh, Niki, who's been helping me quite a lot. So we should have, you know, I was hoping to have the book of Lore Alpha out by last Friday.
Um, would the spreadsheets be kind of, uh, like sort of strife moving left and right or are you looking to get us moving in different ways too? Have you thought that far ahead

I think that's what I said last Wizard Wednesday didn't quite happen. Uh, so we're working to get kind of the, the alpha version out. Um, there's lots of really interesting technical things happening there. Uh, but you know, I'm very excited to really just, uh, memorialize everyone's wizard lore on chain
Elf: yet? Yes, definitely. Yeah, you'll be able to walk in all directions. Um, so yeah, let, let me just say a few things about that. So number one, the reason that this, uh, spreadsheet project is not going as fast as I would like it to is that I've got a day job.

Elf: and have that book up and up and running.
However, I have just given my, uh, notice to my employers that I am going to exit and work on forgotten rooms full-time. Um, super exciting. Yeah. I'm Congratulations. So, I'm so excited about it. Yeah. So once I finally exit, uh, forgotten rooms, we'll have rocket fuel behind it. Um, and hopefully a lot more content will be, be coming out more regularly now towards the, uh, spreadsheets.

Yep. And just for anyone who is new to the Wizard, Wednesdays new to the Cult, I will always reiterate exactly what the book of lore is. So this is going to be a place on our website where as a wizard [00:36:00] holder you can connect your meta mass wallet. And you will, it will know which wizard you own, and you will be able to flip to that page in the book of lore and create lore around your wizard.
Yes. Um, your wizard will be able to walk [00:29:00] in all directions. Um, one thing we learned, so we actually, hi, hired a pixel artist a few weeks ago to just start doing walk cycles and though she was very talented, um, I wasn't a hundred percent happy with the work she turned in. And the reason being is because sh like she came in totally fresh and new to these wizards.

Build your wizard up, write stories about them, write pose poems around them, attach art to them. Um, you are in control of your wizard. You summoned your wizard, and now the wizard will summon you. And, and I think it really,
Like she has not like digested and internalized them like I have. I've been working on them for months prior to our launch. And so what I've realized is what I need to do is I need to draw these turnarounds first, and then once I have those, I can hand them off to other artists we hire to put them in other poses, walking, dying, fighting, whatever kind of pose we need.

Dotta: it, it's a big part of what we're trying to do in that, you know, for the Forgotten ruins, wizard Cult is not just the NFTs.
Um, but the first step is doing a full turnaround of these wizards. So that's, that's why we're doing it in this way.

Like we see what we're doing as like the wizard's called as a collective legendary, and the NFTs show kind of the ownership of the characters. But what we're doing here together is like collectively telling these, these stories. Um, and so the book of lore is a way. To, to, to to, to put those
Dotta: Great. That makes a lot of sense to me. Um, yep. You've, yeah. [00:30:00] So all the fundamentals and then the rest kind of, you can build off of that. Exactly. Um, and I was wondering, so I, I kind of think long term about these things that I can't, so I'm thinking now, Um, far, far ahead in terms of like, imagine now there's like multiple metaverses in which, um, and everybody's now kind of got a pseudonym, N F t, that that is theirs or maybe they have a fee on rotation.

Elf: stories on chain.
Yep. I'm imagining that, um, given we've got these spreadsheets they can use across multiple metaverses will be something of a first mover, but I don't think that, um, I'm not sure that, uh, it's well known what's going on, like with the forgotten ruined and the kind of the, the distance in the future that you are thinking, because obviously you think about these things in some depth.

Yep. [00:37:00] Absolutely. And then, and then to take it further, you know, as, as we are writing the meta narratives behind the scenes for comics and, and, and animation and, and these bigger media expressions. You know, I, I've told, I've told our writers of like comics and shows, you know, never just invent a wizard out of whole cloth.
We've heard you speak before El about, um, kind of turning the Hollywood model on its head [00:31:00] and from the. Threads that data posts as well, we can see that, you know, there's, there's more than what's appears on the surface and the surface looks good anyway. Yes. So I was wondering how you were thinking in terms of, um, longer term, like getting people to understand what's, what is happening at forgotten rooms?

Always pull a wizard from the collection. And then if you do flip to flip through the pages of the book of lore, if somebody has written lore about that wizard, try to put it in the show. Try to put it in the comic. We want to use your ideas as much as we can, and we can't promise that everything you've written will be like, put into a show or a comic.
Cuz we're moving in so many different directions and I feel like that can be a bit of overwhelming or it could be a bit dense to try and get into if you're just looking at the wizards, what's happening. Yep. We talk like every day about how the shortcomings of the website and how we need to make the website better.

But, you know, it's, it's always like a first stop for us to, to pull ideas from. And this is, you know, this is truly the nature of a, of a decentralized lore building project.
Um, I think that like, yeah, we wanted for, at the very least, we wanna build out more documentation on the website that talks about the mission, the projects we have in progress. What it means to own a wizard, what the technicalities are behind it, what it means to be a wizard, how to get help in the [00:32:00] community.

Dotta: Uh, I have a question about the book of [00:38:00] Laura. When you guys are done with it or publish it,
It's just like every day we're talking about these ideas and we still haven't put them on paper for, you know, you have to be a super fan to kind of show up or like, there's only what there, you know, there's maybe 30 people here, there's a lot of other people outside. We wanna be able,

Elf: um, will there be, uh, gas fees when you publish something into it, if you're gonna be connecting a maid of
Eric,

Dotta: mask and whatnot?
Elf: you're breaking really badly.

Elf: Yeah,
You, you might need to reconnect. Um, But if I, yeah, I'll just try to pick up on what he was saying, if he reconnects, um, yeah, you're, you're absolutely right. O uh, we need to be way better about, um, publishing more updates and, and telling a non wizard what Forgotten Rooms is all about. And we will certainly do that.

Dotta: I'm trying to keep the gas really low. Um, it was only, yeah, it's not so expensive. Um, I don't know the current price rates.
Um, we've, yeah, we've just got like a million pieces floating around in the air right now, [00:33:00] and we need to, um, organize it better and put it more, put it all on our website. Um, so you're absolutely right and we're, we're working on it.

Like the last time I tested it, gas was like in, you know, single digits and it was cheap. It was like a couple of dollars. Um, but it should be like on par with minting and nft, maybe even a little cheaper. Yeah,
Dotta: I, I, I wanna say like, um, you know, part of the, part of the fun of this has been kind of working out for myself as well anyway, so I kind of, um, appreciate that.

Madotsuki: I was thinking if maybe it's possible, um, to have kind of like a soft upload first. So like if you wanted to say like, kind of have it just living on the site itself, just on the front end, maybe you can submit that and then if you actually want to publish it to the book, then you can actually submit the transaction.
You don't want to tell people exactly what it means to be a wizard. Mm-hmm. And there's that kind of like, free space to kind of make it what you want it to be. But I think there's, um, there's certainly space for. Um, you know, kind of setting up a framework or, um, kind of like scaffolding even if, even if it doesn't tell 'em this is what you need to fill the scaffolding with, this is what furniture you need in your, your apartment.

Maybe you can do something like that where you just sign, just sign a transaction to just kind of soft publish it.
Just tell them like, this is the space that you could have and this is what the space will be used for. Like Yeah. In the future, like we're all the wizards are gonna be doing this, that and the other. [00:34:00] Everybody will be in a metaverse, will be go seeing the people's art blocks in like the metaverse galleries.

Dotta: Oh, this is a good idea. Yeah. To do
Yeah. There'll be large events and things like, I can imagine that happening. I don't think that, um, it'll be the whole world. It won't be like, I don't, I don't, not imagining a ready player once an hour, but I imagine it becomes a larger and large space that more and more people will get involved in.

Madotsuki: like a, yeah, like it would just be on the front end and then if you want it, when you [00:39:00] actually wanna like upload it on chain and use the gas for it, then you can actually do it, push the transaction through.
Elf: You're you're absolutely right. So like I, yeah, I think like there's, there's two types of information. The secretive, uh, bucket of information and then the information we should be totally more, um, open with in as far as like publishing it on our website. I think like, yeah, we should be, we should do blog posts about, we're doing a walk cycle and we're making this book of lore and we've got the, the, um, the, uh, forgotten souls great burning coming up, and we've got, um, murals and, and potential gallery openings that all that stuff should be clearly available on the website.

But before then, you just do like maybe a simple signature. Yeah. Because
Um, but as far as like [00:35:00] lore and uh, backs stories, that's the sort of thing that I want to deliver in a more interesting way and not just spell it out in a superficial face value way.

Dotta: as this
Dotta: Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah. But yeah, we need to get better at, yeah, but we need to get better at like, you know, we talked about, for example, the roadmap. If you, you know, when I look at, for example, the roadmap that we have, It does, it's woefully incomplete relative to the amount of like irons we have in the fire.

Elf: world builds, I imagine people wanting to kind of change the narrative of their wizard a little bit less
Yep.

Dotta: permanent. That's
Elf: Yep. And we'll update that for sure. In fact, speaking of the roadmap, uh, the next thing on it is a, um, granting commercial rights, uh, Doda, do you wanna talk about that?

Elf: kind of cool too because, uh, people can maybe get feedback or, you know, run it by the community first before committing it to the book of the law.
Dotta: Yeah, I wish I had more progress than yesterday, other than just, um, but it, what, sorry? When I say yesterday, I mean last week. So one of the things that we have kind of [00:36:00] adjusted in even talking to our lawyer, um, I think that what we're gonna do is previously we'd said something like, oh, we're gonna copy Larva Labs and do like a hundred thousand dollars like commercial rights cap or something.

This is a great
Part of the problem that I think with that is the cap is relatively low, and then two, they don't really provide a good upgrade path. Um, so I wanna kind of address that because I feel that if you don't provide a good way for people to know that, like, if I'm gonna be successful, I wanna make sure that there, that I don't get into trouble if I'm like, too successful, right?

Dotta: idea. I'm recognizing it's gonna extend development time a little bit, but I think we should do it. You're so right about this. So, yeah, I'll talk to Niki this week and we'll work
Is you, you wanna be able to make a big bet if you're gonna try to go for commercial rights with your wizards. Um, so we still haven't finalized anything, but let me just talk about this idea and maybe we can get some feedback from folks on if they like it, dislike it. But I think what we're basically thinking is, um, to do that you have like commercial [00:37:00] rights to all the wizards that you hold up to a million dollar cap.

Elf: on that. Yep. Yeah. Super interesting idea. Um, that said, like, and, and Dota you would be, know, know this better than I would, but.
And then after that million dollar cap, there's royalties that come back to us, um, half of which go to, uh, Half of which go to like the creators and half of which go to the community. And so let's say for example, that number is 30 or 20% of gross. I, we haven't pinned on the exact number. We need to figure out what's reasonable.

Even if you do commit something to, to the book of Laura, can't you go back and edit it and change it? If you want, you can, but you have to
But you could imagine this case that says, all right, look, you've got like 10 wizards, or you know, you've got 50 wizards and 52 wizards, and you wanna make the wizard's deck of cards. And you wanna do a commercial project with it, like go for it. Great. You know, if you make like $900,000, you can keep all that money.

Dotta: pay gas both times. Right. And so what they're kind of [00:40:00] suggesting is like there's still a way that we could sort of have, um, ownership signatures. So you have this proof of authenticity, but it's basically free because it would just be sort of living on our kind of internal server.
Um, but then if you sort of make over this million dollar cap, then what's over the million dollars is there's, uh, like say, let's say 20% of gross you need, need to give back to the wizards community, which goes like half to us, half to a, a Dow essentially. [00:38:00] Um, and then I think that's not saying that that's the royalty structure for everything, but that's providing like a blanket, right?

I have to think about this more because it's like maybe there's a way to do a preview that you can
That's the blanket, right? And if you feel like, oh, 20% is too much, um, then you can come to us and we can kind of negotiate like a better rate. Like maybe someone's saying like, oh, I'm doing these like derivative works. Like, you know, wizards are existing in like pop wonders and my pop wonders do like millions of dollars.

Elf: share. What I would
And like we would love that because now we're a cultural artifact and so maybe we're like, oh, pop wonder. You're cool. Like you're doing everything in good faith and like it's derivative work. Like you don't have to pass royalties cuz it's a new thing and it's within fair use or something. But, so I think that's the direction that we're thinking is like, I basically want it to be so generous that anybody who wants to do a commercial work with their wizards as like an individual community member.

Dotta: hate is for people to just only do it off chain and then there's no, if they move on or something, there's no way to really put that on chain. To
Um, that they, that they can do that and then like, make money on that. But then I also wanna make sure that we don't get, like, I don't know, some studio obviously sees how great wizards are and they buy up a whole [00:39:00] cast of wizards and then they make a show or like a AAA video game. And with the commercial rights of those wizards, they don't necessarily give anything back to us or the community.

Madotsuki: me, that's the problem I have too. I wouldn't want somebody just kinda mais put it on and like, okay, cool, that's it.
Um, like I basically just want like some sort of, some sort of way to bring massive players to a negotiating table, but while still letting everyone who kind of owns an individual wizard feel like they have like, ownership of their character and ownership to do what they want, to make derivative works that they want.

And then it's not actually submitted.
Like if you wanna make a stuffed animal of your wizard, you should be able to do that. But more than that, you should own like the character, not just the pixels in the N F T. And so I was just trying to like balance those, like, uh, those two concerns. Could I ask a question on that? Um, with the people that you've already spoke to so far, so people who might be interested in something like a, uh, a TV show for example, um, have you found that they are more, um, they'd be more willing to make a show [00:40:00] with say, characters that Forgottens Room Wizards called actually Owens versus the rest of the Wizards collection?

Elf: Yeah. And it just occurs to me that we do have air discord space to kind of share it first and get feedback. Yeah, that is true. That is true. Right. Right. So, but, but
Is that something that, um, they've thought about? Like, that's just a cynical part of me thinking that it might be easier for them to just deal with the wizards that you own rather than the wizards that are spread throughout the collection. The, there it's not a big problem because like at the moment on paper, Like, we haven't actually granted like a legal structure of rights to anyone.

Dotta: I think having a preview page that, like you could share a URL that's like, not, it doesn't appear in the book, it's not finalized.
Um, like if for someone to, for example, do a commercial, right? We've told people like, yeah, go ahead. Like, we're going to hash this out. But that's part of the reason why like, it's a responsibility for us as the creators to publish like an actual legal document with our lawyers so that like someone who wants to do a real business based on this IP feels that they kind of have their bases covered.

It has a big draft on it, but at least you could share the [00:41:00] URL and pass it around. Yep. That sounds before you commit. I think that's a good idea. Yep. That sounds perfect.
So when we've gone to studios to talk about doing a show, they're not even thinking [00:41:00] that far along because it's so opposite of the way that they do ip. Like they wouldn't even think twice that we wouldn't own the IP or that we would give royalties to someone else because it's just not how Hollywood works like at all.

Elf: Cool. Awesome, guys, I, I love when you guys give, um, feedback like this. I, I had a question, um, and this might have been covered, uh, at the very start, but, um, it's, it's largely how is full-time, uh, life, uh, on the Forgotten Ruins Wizard project going for you?
If that makes sense. Like they're not thinking like, oh, do you have to ask permission from the N F T owners? Because they don't, they think like, we own completely all of the IP for anything we touch in most cases. Does that make sense? Yeah, I understand. So you are, it's as if you are. Um, it's as if Got ruins was a cult Gold distribute anyway, and they're dealing with Red Got Ruins was a cult rather than the individual owners of every N ffc.

And then also I just spend time just imagining what, what your, what your day-to-day is like, and, you know, is, is part of it still crafting like the, uh, you know, the Forgotten Souls or what's it look like if you were to, if you were to kind of give us a tour thematically of what the next, um, maybe week or fortnight looks like for you in a typical, I guess there's no typical Elf Day, but like what, what are some of the themes emerging for you?
Exactly. And we wanna keep the ability to like to, to, to do, to negotiate on your behalf because we can negotiate a better deal than any individual wizard and like we can protect the community as a whole. Yeah.

Sure. Yeah. Yeah. So first of all, working Wild in Wizards full-time has been the greatest. I absolutely love it. I obsess over it. I think about it 24 7. I dream about it. [00:42:00] Um, it's the best. It's, it's a dream come true. Honestly. Um, my typical day, okay, it's, it's been roughly, I answer about 5,000 dms in the morning.
Elf: It, it, it, it would also just be way faster if we could just negotiate on the behalf of the entire collection instead of dealing with everyone individually, we can get a better [00:42:00] deal.

Um, I, uh, I, um, I, I check, I check Discord, I check Twitter to see if anyone's adding me. Um, I, about the middle of the day, I, um, I work on the turnarounds. These have been taking up so much of my time. I can't wait till they're finished. Um, you know, speaking of turnarounds, just real quick, I've got every he head.
Right. And I assure you, like our whole point is to like return as much value back to you. If you see your wizard on screen, I want you to benefit from that. Um, right. So Yeah, I mean, and, and, and, and just like, again, if it wasn't clear, like every person we've talked to about this, I would say. Most all of them are super interested in that idea.

Uh, finally finished. I've got the front, left side, right side, and back of all those heads. Finally finished. Um, I want to including Philosophists. Great. Yes. Yes. Yep. All of them. Every single wizard is done. And I'm gonna put more gifts on Twitter to show you, cause I know everybody's like dying to see what their wizard head looks like from all angles.[00:43:00]
There was one guy who was like, who gave like the standard, I don't understand crypto, I think it's a scam. I don't get it at all. Um, sure. But like even he wasn't necessarily against the idea of returning royalties. He just basically didn't under crypto. Um, so yeah, yeah,

Um, so that's taking up a lot of my time. I'm gonna do the bodies next. Um, if I could add to that for a second,
Dotta: yeah. He wasn't even into like Bitcoin overall. So there, there was a lot of steps there. Yeah. To get him into N F T

Dotta: um, I've commissioned some folks to do, uh, Vox version of those heads. There's no official plans here, but I just think it's fun when we already have the turnarounds. Um, and so if there's anybody, so I think we have two requests.
Elf: royalties. Yeah. But like, you know, just some [00:43:00] inside baseball, you know, on the other end of that, one person was like, he was like, I love this project. Super interested. He's like, for the past few months I've had so many people come to me with.

One is if you know a voxel artist who might be, who is good and can take art direction and to, can help us like convert the heads into voxels, I'd be interested to talk to them. And two, also, well, I mean probably get to this, but for the walk cycles, We also could use help for another pixel artist who can help do the walking animation portions.
Uh, wanting to do an N F T project, but then they also have no idea what NFTs are. And so like this is happening all over Hollywood. Like all Hollywood is seeing is dollar signs and they're still thinking about it in a centralized way. And so this particular person, he was like, you are the first people who've come along who actually know what the hell you're talking about, who actually have a real N F T project.

Like Elf is, he is by hand painting every pixel of every wizard's head in four views. So e e the, the view that you have already is a three quarter view. So this is four more for every wizard, um, done by [00:44:00] Elf himself, not a contractor. But when it comes to kind of, so that's important because the face is the first thing you look at and it's so particular and detailed.
And therefore, that's one reason I'm interested in working

But for the, uh, he's also doing the bodies, but the, the, the, the walk cycles in particular, you know, it's just like you see in classic animation where you have sort of the master artists do the, uh, the, the, the key, the main key frames, but then you sort of can have other people come in and fill in the, the in-betweens.
Dotta: with you. Yeah. Well, and to, to clarify that, it wasn't even just that we knew what we were talking about. He was like, I'm meeting about N F T projects every single day, and we tell most of them, no, but this is the one that might actually work.

And so if you know someone, but even that takes a certain level of skills. So if you know someone who's a pixel artist or someone who might, uh, help, please reach out to us.
Because it wasn't just that we know what we're talking about, but it was just like, The idea of [00:44:00] wizards and the characters Oh yeah. In the world. And just like everything all kind of fit together in a way that could actually Yeah. And

Elf: Yep. Yep. Yeah, I've reached out a few, and the biggest problem I'm finding is that the work is just tedious and kind of boring. Um, making these wizards walk.
Elf: that, that is the first and foremost Yeah. Selling point is they've gotta like the art, the content, the characters.

It's not like fun and creative, it's just kind of, you just gotta like sit down and do it. And so even though I'm reaching out to really talented artists, they, when they finally get the assignment, they're like, oh God, I don't wanna do this. This is so boring. So, yeah. Um, anyway, so yeah, so a lot of pixel [00:45:00] pushing.
That's the most important thing. Yeah. The nft angle was just icing on the top. Yep.

And then at nights is when I usually, uh, write more of the, the lore in the meta narrative of, of the entire world. So yeah, so that's, that's mostly been my days. Um, but yeah, like I said, I'm, I'm loving every minute of it and yeah, it's, it's, it's the project of a lifetime for me. Um, and, uh,
Um, okay. Is anyone else trying to request to speak? Um, we have maybe 10 ish more minutes to go. Um,

Dotta: on this, on this issue of like, uh, yeah, turnarounds versus souls.
everybody's too shy to come up.

So w the, they're both very art heavy, right? Because souls is, um, you know, there's no restrictions on which wizards can be burned. Okay? So for any of us joining for the first time, forgotten Souls is a plan that we have for, um, sometime in the next, you know, several weeks where, um, there will be a, um, an order of a thousand wizards, um, which may be sacrificed.
Dotta: Yeah. I'm Matsui. Thanks for sharing that artwork. Oh yeah. There's also a link in the, in the pin tweets to Alva May. Should totally check it out. Yeah. Thanks for giving us a, a shout out there. I was in a middle of a work meeting, so I couldn't quite come up and talk until it just finished the first of many.[00:45:00]

Um, and then some of those people will receive an exchange, a forgotten soul. But dark magic is [00:46:00] unpredictable and unreliable, and it's a dangerous endeavor if you choose to. Choose to do it. Um, but because there's no restrictions on which wizard can be burned, there is a sense in which it's, um, almost an entirely new collection of the same size.
Yeah. Yeah. But, um, but yeah, I think, uh, there's been obviously I, I pinned, uh, the Orbis artwork. That was really great. If any of you haven't seen that, that was amazing. Or, um, he, uh, shark got somebody, he, um, commissioned a professional comic book artist to, to do an illustration of his Orbis character and just looks absolutely phenomenal.

And so there's a lot of art involved there. We've prioritized the walk cycles and the turnarounds above forgotten souls because we want wizards to exist in Metaverses. So, um, you know, we've talked, we've had conversations with some of the metaverses in 2D that you've seen. So we've had, um, this isn't a commitment from their side, but I can tell you we've had conversations with Lupa I and Traverse.
It's just got oozing with that, um, nineties comic book art style. It's very greedy and it's, it's, it's, yeah, it's really great. Definitely

We've had, um, conversations with regards to, um, Atlas and, you know, I can't necessarily promise what they will or won't support, but, um, you know, if we have all 10,000 wizards, uh, with walk cycles as, um, like Pixel Sprites. I don't believe that there's any other project that I know of anyway that has their entire collection with [00:47:00] custom walk cycles.
Elf: check it out. Yep. So good.

And so I imagine, uh, that they will support us and even if they, uh, you know, even if their priorities lie elsewhere, we also have our own game and we need kind of this artwork for that game as well. So we prioritize the turnarounds, but that's a lot of an art burden on Elf, even as full-time. It's taking, you know, weeks to do, like, basically the parts were 10,000 wizards in like four dimensions.
Dotta: Mm-hmm. And then if you guys haven't seen the, the 3D models either for the, the Wizards, um, we had, uh, Trevor Jones that did that, that contest for the, for three Special Wizards.

And so, um, we've, we've pushed souls back a little bit to make sure that we don't fall behind on the metaverse, but then as soon as we finish that, it's like all hands
Um, he did really great job of doing those models.

Elf: on souls. Yep. Yep. Um, okay. So I wanna give Magus Devon a chance to give his lore, but before I do, I just want to check off one more item on my list.
Elf: Yeah, I, I've gotta say, and I, I tweeted this hands down stone cold fact. Our community has the best art. It's just like the variety. Yeah. Yeah. It's, I just love it. You guys are all just [00:46:00] killing it. I love it. Um, okay. Tom and Raw dog just came up. What? What's up guys?

Um, and I just wanna quickly mention, um, that expansion punks pole and what it means to me. So, You guys, the cult just really stepped up on that. And here's what's so [00:48:00] impressive about that. The only force has 30,000 followers on Twitter. We've got 6,000 followers on Twitter. We beat them. They are ranked, I think I checked today, number three on open sea.
Dotta: What's up everybody? What's up? Hello. Okay, man. How you guys doing? No. Yeah, I just came up cause I didn't know if, uh, if Matsui was gonna be able to speak or not. When you mentioned Avenue. So I had missed the first part of the call and, uh, nothing. Good. Cool. I am, uh, loving everything that's going on and what you guys are talking about.

We beat them. And so what that says to me is our project is one of the most organic real projects out there. I feel like all these other projects are just paper tigers. They're pump and dumps. They're not real. They're like majority just like bots. And so our cult is solid. It is an unbreakable foundation of real committed people.
It's been a. Great. It's been great to be part of it from the beginning. Yeah. I wanted to, I wanted to comment earlier too about the whole, uh, commercial rights thing. Cause um, I think, uh, I understand exactly what you guys are going for. You want us to like, you know, own our characters and just, you know, if, like you, it's mostly to try what you're trying to do for the, the commercial rights thing is just to try to punish kind of any big dog who wants to try to come in and try to take advantage of the structure that we [00:47:00] have.

And this gives me extraordinary amounts of hope for the longevity of this project. Um, you know, I think once we drop our, our metaverse and, and forgotten souls and the [00:49:00] animation and the comic and everything we've got on our roadmap, we're gonna be blue chip. Um, and, you know, I'm just, I'm so glad that we didn't blow up too fast, that we didn't just have a blow off top and then get forgotten about.
But you don't want any of the community members particularly to be damaged by it. Cause, you know, you want kind of people inside of the community who actually support it and actually are part of it to be able to use their characters as freely as possible within, within, within reason. Um, I think like, part of that is, um, for, for my, uh, project, um, I am planning, actually having for, for, um, my, my particular a is like a staff 11 kind of, I do wanna have major Devin as my, as my avatar made in, um, bread's pickle style, and um, Of course.

Like, we have taken our time to build a real solid community, and I'm just so impressed by all of you. We beat the ninjas. There's no limit to how far we can go, so I just wanted to say thank you for, for that. Um, okay. Uh, Magus. Devin, you have been a very prominent wizard from the very beginning. Um, yep. I mean your, your lizard, your, your wizard is legendary status now.
Yeah, definitely. So I understand that's right from the realm of what you guys want us to be able to do about characters. Like if I own Doug and, you know, I should be able to, to use her character and the project's. Not like, you know, something like, like, just like that. Especially with just for more of a personal representation of myself.

Um, can you tell us more about who Magus, Devin of the Quantum Downs is? Yes.
Exactly. That's like exactly what we want to make sure. Yep, absolutely. So we don't develop some sort of like limited rights that prevent that. Mm-hmm. And I think that, um, I [00:48:00] think that, and even on the bigger players, it's not even so much the, I I wouldn't necessarily use the word punish so much as just like bring them to the negotiating table to make sure like community integrity is kept and then like, if you're making a lot of money on our community, some of that money should come back.

Madotsuki: Yeah, of course. So, um, I'm [00:50:00] sure some, some of you know, but I know there's some new people here. So, um, I'm Devin of the Quantum Down was the very first wizard that I ended up getting, um, when coming into the Wizards Guild. Um, she spoke out to me immediately when I saw her from the collection and I had to get her.
Right. Yeah, I definitely see what you guys mean. That's, that's, that's perfect. Have there been any, uh, hurdles you guys have come across when talking to these people about, or like, or when, or how much you want to give as far as commercial rights to the, uh,

Um, she's, um, she's, she's, uh, quite a quiet wizard lives. She, she lives in the quantum downs. She has, she runs a shop of her own. Um, the shop that she runs is actually a shop of otherworldly goods. Um, she actually, she, um, uses her quantum mushrooms as she actually grows on the quantum down, um, in order to, uh, to perceive, um, other worlds and other realities.
community

And with the help of her, with the help of her familiar, um, asp, um, his name is Spinner, he can actually traverse into those alternate realities that she's, um, that she's perceiving. And, um, with the help of her, uh, with the help of her wound of Mercury, she's actually able to, um, to keep, convert, keep, um, conversation with him, um, and kind of direct [00:51:00] him to where he needs to go in order to get, uh, items of value.
Elf: members? Uh, Tom, you

And so she's able to kind of collect those items of value and keep them in her, in her shop that she sells. Um, she sells to, to patrons who come around. Um, And she also really loves, um, she used to go, um, adventuring on her own a little bit, but, um, she's not, she, she, because of her magic that she focuses on is more, um, she, she likes, um, she's not a very powerful wizard.
Dotta: um, oh yeah. I just wanted to ask, uh, cuz Dota tweeted about the space and said music question mark and I, I don't remember.

She focused her magic mostly on, um, her ability to, to, um, to utilize her quantum, her quantum mushrooms to the, to the fullest. So it's mostly more for, um, kind of like learning and for, for exploring other worlds and such. So she definitely likes the, the exploration and venture portion, but um, when it comes to actually combat, she's not too well on that.
Was there some announcement about music or maybe I missed it.

Um, so, uh, she, she used to actually, um, kind of, uh, travel around. And use, you know, trinkets that she would get from, from her other worlds in order to, to combat creatures. So, you know, maybe she doesn't know how to do, she's not doing like, [00:52:00] you know, fire spells or thunder spells or anything, but, you know, hey, maybe she came to our world and got a rocket launcher and, um, you know, she uses that and it's not quite as powerful as, you know, using like, uh, like Elf said, like if there's technology, it may not be as strong as using spousal.
Elf: Okay. Hold on. We, we've got two different things. I'm

I wouldn't imagine it be being too powerful trying to use a ro launcher on say a, a dragon, but you can maybe deal with some damage to it. Um, but you know, after a while that kind of got, you know, a bit bit tedious and after she got a bit more, um, more used to, to finding, uh, items of value from other worlds and, and, um, got a bit more reputation from people, as you know, uh, this, this wizards is going around, this major is going around kind of, um, with these odd trinkets and, and people had, uh, you know, they found them really valuable.
Dotta: a delay, I'm on a delay [00:49:00] or El is on a delay and I'm not sure who it is. I think

So she decided, Hey, you know what? I can open up a shop for this kind of things. A lot of people want them. So now she just lives a comfortable life in the quantum downs with her shop, um, selling useful items, whether it be, um, you know, powerful, powerful trinkets from alternate realities, or [00:53:00] maybe even just something fun like the, uh, stuffed animal from a creature that doesn't actually exist in the forgotten ruins world.
Elf: it's you. Okay. There was two different questions at the same time. Um, Rodda, I'm sorry, I forgot what you asked, but Tom just asked something about music. Um, And it's funny you say that because that's, yeah, that was on my checklist and it's one other thing that I was supposed to mention.

Um, and so, uh, the, the, um, she also loves, uh, as she doesn't explore and adventure too much and forgotten ruins world herself. Um, so she spends most of her times now just exploring other worlds with the help of her, uh, for her help of her quantum mushrooms. Um, She does still like to hear about more stories from, especially from, you know, if there's any powerful wizards that are able to fight, you know, maybe go on adventures in some, some dangerous areas that she would never explore.
Um, yeah, we are actually talking to a super professional musician about adding a musical element to the collection. Um, um, I don't know if I wanna say much more than that at this point, but you maybe think of it as maybe every wizard has their own theme song, something like that. Um, theme songs that would be, uh, generated as well.

You know, she, she's, she's interested in hearing all of those stories from, there's so many different wizards in this, in, in, in the world that they have, um, so many unique stories to them. So if they drop by and they wanna, and there's something that catches their eye, um, she's okay with giving, uh, with giving nice very generous discounts to anybody who, who wants to, uh, share their stories and share their tales of her.
Um, yeah, that's all I'll say about that. Some, something along those lines. [00:50:00] Um, Doda, are you, are you back?

Um, [00:54:00] and, uh, she's actually, she, she wants to keep, uh, she, she keeps down, um, kind of her own book of lore, um, from all the patons who come around and wanna share their stories with her. And she's interested in, in documenting all of their tales and hopefully, um, one day wants to publish her own book. Of all these interesting tales that she's found, uh, that, that people have told her from, from along the way away.
Dotta: I think, tell me if I'm slow or not. Nope, that was right on cue. You're good. Okay. Um, yep. I think one of the things we haven't had too much trouble with regards to commercial rights. I think it's mostly, I don't know if you're asking about commercial rights or shows.

Elf: I love it. I love so much about it. My, my, yeah. My first, my first impressions are I love how, um, she's like really focused on her quantum mushrooms. Um, you know, one thing that's cool about the collection is like some wizards straight up have spells. Um, but some wizards just have like a magical item that they're holding.
I think just the idea on shows is like, it's just hard to sell a show in the first place. So we haven't had any more difficulty then I think anyone else in that regard. Um, but um, and then commercial rights, it's mostly just like working out with our lawyers. I just wanna make, like we have a few people in the background who have been asking like, Hey, we wanna do this like big commercial thing.

And, uh, Magus Devon has a, has a quantum mushroom and it's, it's extremely powerful. Um, so, you know, I, I think that's super cool. I love that she runs a shop. I love that she's got her [00:55:00] own book of Laura going. I mean, it's, it's a really filled out character.
What's your actual, like, legal document? What are you granting? And I have to sheepishly be like, oh well we wanna do this, we wanna do that, but we don't actually have the language. And they're like, okay cool. Tell me when your lawyer like gives you the documents because we need like something in black and white.

Madotsuki: Yep. Yeah. Um, and so I, I've kind of had people ask me some questions about like, how I go about my character building and, um, that, that definitely ties into it.
Um, and so I'm just working with our lawyer to get that done. You know? I [00:51:00] know I've been saying this for weeks. I'll probably be staying it for a couple more weeks just cuz it's not fast. Um, yeah. But we're working on it.

Yeah. Go. Great. Um, you know, when, yeah, when I first, when I first like, um, when I first got into collection, I definitely wanted to have like a mushroom, like I'm really big into mythology and like mushrooms. Um, so that was when I saw the collection. I definitely wanted one of those. Um, and so when searching through, she actually really, really caught my eye and, um, Actually me, I, I mentioned before that when I make, uh, characters in MMOs, it's pretty much that archetype.
Elf: Yep. Cool. Cool. Um, we've got five minutes left. Anyone else?

It's even down to like having like blue hair for my characters. Like I really like that archetype. So she, she fit, she kind of hit like aesthetically. So first I kind of look aesthetically, see if they kind of check off like all of my check marks. And then from there, like these wizards are so great as a template.
Dotta: Um, maybe we can like, touch back on this like hierarchy of NFTs, uh, Dota, is that like some original thing you came up with?

Like they, they. They give so much to work with, but at the same time, they give you, they, they lack the information [00:56:00] that that's required. So that way you're, you have to fill in some gap of imagination. And I feel like that's such, it's such a perfect balance that they fill because they give you a nice, uh, a nice imagery for what they actually are.
Elf: Super interesting. Yeah, go for it. NoDa. Yeah. Uh, well,

You know, you have a name. You, you, sometimes you'll have, um, a title for what they, what they practice. Um, you'll have a location that they belong to or they're, they're to, tied to or related to. Um, they'll have, you know, a room and they'll have, uh, they'll have their prop and their, and um, you know, they're, they may have, uh, familiar and, but all that stuff tied together, it's like, it's, it, it gives you, it gives you a very, um, a very nice base layer to build on top of.
Dotta: yeah, I mean, I didn't like, I, I don't, I don't, yes, I was, could I say Sonia? I was, I was, I was thinking about this today because I think, um, an interesting part of these NFTs is that, um, you like build a story about them and then if we're connecting the fact that these are kind of pseudonym identities at the same time to that story [00:52:00] I was wondering about, um, what, like the community feels about, um, uh, kind of having.

And it's flexible enough that you can kind of build them anywhere you want. So, I'm sure that the original person, I got majors Devin from. Um, I thank you props for selling Ma Devin from below Mint. Um, she's never gonna be sold ever again. Um, but, uh, seriously, um, like I, I'm pretty sure they didn't have anything that I had in mind, but with any, with any wizard, you know, wages, Devin doesn't [00:57:00] particularly have any rare traits, but with any wizard you can kind of, if you're able to build a story from them, um, I would say that you definitely have the ability to.
Stories be commissioned because where you have stories that are commissioned, then you kind of have, um, I guess for me, when I write a story, I'm thinking, um, on ways of like developing a character in the longer term. Um, but if you are like outsourcing this for your own wizard, does that kind of take away from the connection that you have that wizard if we're taking on the model that do shared earlier this week?

And so, um, when I first, so when I started, I essentially, you know, I got, I got the, the, the imagery down all cool. She has a mushroom and she's, I looked at, second thing I looked at was her name MAs, Devin of the quantum down. And so I was like, the quantum downs and she has a mushroom. So I was thinking, well, wouldn, didn't it make sense if he's growing mushrooms on these quantum hills that he's residing in?
Um, but I was just wondering about that. I don't have really any thoughts, but I thought it was very interesting thread.

And then how would that tie into what a mushroom is? And so the immediate thought is, you know, hey, magic mushrooms. So it's kind of like, well, how is that tie into it? So they're, they're magical mushrooms that perhaps if you're thinking of it from the sense of, you know, quantum mechanics maybe has something to do with space time.
Yeah, I don't know. I feel that like I feel about stories, like I feel about artwork, for example, which is to say neither are my strong suit. So for example, [00:53:00] if I asked like Margaret to do a poem for me, Um, and she came back with something I would say in like 99% of cases. I'm gonna feel like, yeah. What she describes to me is the truth cuz she's able to kind of like build this mental picture of the world and how the characters operate within it.

You know, maybe it has something to do with, with alternate realities or, or, you know, um, you know, parallel universes. And so I went on from, so it slowly started building up from there. So I was like, okay, I have the mushroom, I have the location, now I have what the mushroom [00:58:00] does. So it has some kind of tie to quantum mechanics.
You know, maybe there's 1% chance where I'd say, oh, that wouldn't happen and ask her to change it or something. But I feel that it's the same way of like filling in kind of a bit of artwork in that, like, you, you, you lean on someone else who has a strength in a different way and I don't know, for me it wouldn't take away for a story to come back.

Okay, cool. Um, now how could she utilize that? And then from there, I built up slowly and I thought, okay, so maybe she uses these mushrooms and she's able to, you know, just like in, she's able to, you know, perceive alternate realities with these mushrooms or parallel universes. And, um, then I looked into, all right, so how does her familiar fit into this graph?
To me, it almost like a dream, right? Like, I feel sometimes when I have a dream it doesn't necessarily feel like consent in the same way. Like, I didn't want that to happen. Like I had a dream last night that like, you know, this creature came and I could tell feel the creature was coming and then like I. I was like, oh no, this is gonna be scary.

You know, so she has familiar who's a snake, um, the green asp. And, um, and my immediate thought, because I actually, like, I actually, uh, do have like a, i I kind of like studying quantum mechanics on my own. Um, so, uh, quantum physics is really fun for me. So I, the first thing that immediately comes, came to my head was, um, there's something, there's, uh, there's a concept in Quantum Canada called, um, uh, spinner.
And then it was this giant beast and it woke me up and it was annoying cuz I lost sleep over it. [00:54:00] And like, I didn't want the beast to appear in my dream, but it did. And it sort of like became a part of my life. And I think that maybe that happens with stories sometimes too. You can still be part of your identity even though you didn't necessarily write every line of the story.

And, uh, I'm not gonna get too into depth about it, but if you look up, um, uh, spinner rotation GIF on Google, you'll probably see what I mean. [00:59:00] Um, But essentially it's, it's, you can, you can get a free cool imagery of how it moves. It looks very much like a magical snake. And so I kind of, that imagery really fit into what I was thinking of.
That makes a lot sense to me. Um, yeah, I feel that. So I was, it was, I was projected in my own, um, way of relating to that law building side of things to be fair. But I didn't, I didn't, um, I didn't ask for this. Forgotten I'm Ruined was a cult to come into my life. But here we are.

So I was thinking if I'm gonna tie this whole character around the concept of, of being, you know, a quantum mechanic wizard, I think that would be perfect for it. And then after that, I, I think, um, I ended up taking a look at the Roone and the Roone. I, that's the part I actually had to, to do some research on.
Elf: We're happy to have you. Yeah. Uh, Magus, to answer your question, yes. Doda created that whole n f t hierarchy by himself as far as

Cuz I'm gonna be honest, I don't quite know, um, a lot of symbolism with these. But luckily Google is a really simple re simple resource to use. So, um, you can get a lot from those rooms. Cause there's, there's tons of symbology you can look up for from different cultures that have different meanings for them.
Dotta: I know. Y yeah, I mean, the idea of idea, I think there's no original ideas that came out of conversations even from this group. I think of thinking around, uh, the, the idea of like belonging, for example, was something that I'd kind of skirted around until I think it was even like Shark Child or something who mentioned it.

And, um, I feel like I should've, I should've probably, it should have probably, um, gone on I, me immediately. But, um, But the room that I have is actually, it's, it's, if you think of, um, the Roman, the [01:00:00] Roman God, um, uh, if you think of, um, hernias from Greek mythology, he's the messenger, God, he actually, that's his room.
So I think it's people from [00:55:00] this group that kind of helped bring those ideas together. But I would, I would guess like the, at the very end kind of writing down here, the five things and how I think about them, you know, I've been talking about NFTs of course, a lot with people in my life, um, in general, and there's still a lot of people who don't necessarily get it.

So it felt like if tied into place, I was like, okay, so messenger. And then if I try to tie that into the entire theme altogether, how would she be using messaging? And so I thought, okay, if she's in these ultimate realities, perhaps you can't communicate with these ultimate realities cuz she's just kind of perceiving them.
I would even say e as much as I like whatever, wrote an e r c 7 21 NFT contract in like 2018, it wasn't an art N F T. So, and it, it really took me probably not even until we'd created Wizards to really. To really understand the deeper psychology, that it's not just that layer of like flipping in profit.

I think of it as kind of like she's projecting herself to these realities. Like, you know, she's on her magic mushroom trip pretty much, and she can see these ultimate realities and perceive them, but perhaps you can't actually do anything in them. So that room I considered okay, maybe she utilizes that room and a way to tap into a magic that can help her communicate, even if she's in, she's not actually in these realms, is kind of like a visitor rather than actual, um, a, uh, existing in these realms.
It's not just that layer of like fundraising, but there's, there's a sense of like community and belonging and status and storytelling and, and identity that, that, that really drive the value. And so there's a sense in which like NFTs, you know, if you invest in sort of some defi coin and then like the founder leaves or the contract gets hacked, you don't really have [00:56:00] anything kind of left or the value

So just kind of like, so in other words, I'm just kind of like, I piece it together little by little, I think of like a [01:01:00] central theme and I try to tie everything into that central theme and I kind of look at the individual parts. And it's a lot easier once you start making like, you know, when you start, um, thinking of these individual parts as a larger hole.
that are fundamental value than a lot of mead coins. So it's just something you've been thinking a lot about. And I think that

So like, spin, or I could have just left spin or is just a snake, like cool snake. And I'm sure you can like all to you, if you just wanna have, you know, like, uh, like, you know, and you're familiar, just be a pet, like a pet rabbit or something. That's perfectly fine too. It's just that if you, it makes it a lot easier to, to build up a character if you just kind of think of the individual parts as much larger parts that build into a, a larger piece altogether.
Elf: like, yeah. Yeah. No, it's, it's, it's totally something that's sort of evolving in the whole NFT space. And even with this project, it's, it's something that I've tried to do from the very beginning is, is like, just sort of lay out what exactly is an NFT and why is it different from a Dogecoin or a Sheba coin or even a Bitcoin.

Elf: I love it.
It's, it's, it's the aesthetic Mona Lisa. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's the aesthetic. It's, it's the, the narrative, it's the identity. Um, if, I don't know if you guys know who Raul Powell is, um, but he's a super interesting, um, he's a macro investor, but he also comments a lot on cryptocurrency. Um, he made this, he in an, in an interview [00:57:00] recently speculated that, um, social tokens will be bigger than Defi and NFTs are included in this category of social tokens.

Dotta: You so much. I have one more question. So, um, one of the things I noticed that recurs in her, uh, artwork is her Game Boy. Is that her book of lore? Is that where she stores the messages? Tell me, tell us about the Game Boy.
Um, yeah, you know, I, I have realized over the last few weeks that. The, the demographic for NFTs is not necessarily your traditional crypto investor. I think the demographic for NFTs is, um, basically the generation who's grown up on social media and video games. Um, I just saw TikTok the other day of this like hilarious Gen Z type of girl who she, you know, if you looked at her, you would not think that she knows anything, a bi about Bitcoin or crypto.

Madotsuki: Ah, yeah, the Game Boy is actually, yeah, it's, it's actually one of her most prized possessions that she got from, from another world.
And maybe she doesn't. But she was talking all about NFTs, and I think that's the demographic. I think, I think more than Bitcoin, more than Dogecoin, more than Ethereum, it's [00:58:00] NFTs that are gonna bring in. The so-called normies, um, the no pointers, if you will.

It's one of the first possessions that she ended [01:02:00] up getting and, um, initially she got it for, she, she got it. And, um, I wanna say that, that, uh, it had, it had a copy of Pokemon Red on it and she was so fascinated by this creature capturing game, as she simply had to learn more about what, what was going on in this.
Dotta: Um, yeah, and I think like any person who plays Fortnite or who like has spent money on Fortnite, like gets the idea of NFTs.

And so, so Earth tends to be one of her favorite areas that she, um, that she favorite other realms that she'll go to, to, to grab some, some items from. Cuz she's very fascinated about the world of Tara.
And I think more than, here's the thing, more than like, there's a, there's a, there's a way that people say this, which is like, oh, we're still early. We're all gonna make so much money. We're gonna dump on all these people that are coming after. Like, okay, that's probably true. Like, we probably are gonna make money when they join.

Elf: I love it. So I actually
But that's not like the main thing. Like one of the main things is that you can, like, people can, you don't have to like sign up for a bank account, right? Like, I'll sit down with my nieces and nephews over my kids and I'm like, okay, we're gonna set up your meta mask and I'm gonna send you a hundred dollars.

Dotta: have included, uh, mags, Devon, and some of her artwork on the WTF page. I actually just updated this page today. I haven't even run it by Elf. I'm sure he is gonna have some edits. Uh, and so part of kind of this idea that we're building, um, a collective legendary is, is this idea of d uh, telling these stories and trying to show examples.
And like that. Like, we've, now they have a bank account. We're like, we didn't have to like drive to the bank and put on a tie and like ask them to like, you know, write a check or whatever. You just like, now we're sending like value to one another and I can send them a wizard and like, That feeling when you first get your own N F T [00:59:00] and you like have ownership of these digital goods is so special.

When you first learn about wizards, you should see these examples of what we're [01:03:00] doing and, um, I I, you know, yeah, Maggie Devin is legendary and she gets homepage treatment. That's
And yeah, nf like NFTs as flat images are really just the beginning. Yep. Can I ask, um, elf and over, you've both changed your profile pictures over the past month, um Yep. Have you noticed any, what was that experience like? Cause I know do you had your previous perfect pitch for a number of years, and I'm not sure about you El but is that an experience you have any thoughts on?

Madotsuki: actually, and, and, and also just circle back a little bit, that was actually a really cool idea that you had Doda. I actually hadn't considered that myself, of having her book of lore actually be like, with the Game Boy.
Elf: You

I think I'll actually be writing that in. And that's also part of what's great about this, the centralized lore building, is that you can get, there's sometimes where I get ideas from other people just like reading what other people are having and like, Building up on my own Lord that I've been creating, um, just by seeing what other ideas that people have.
Dotta: should. I mean, I think that it helps people recognize you over time to have the same branding and profile picture, but ultimately Twitter is a place where your ideas rain. And so it's hard for me to like dig to dissect it too closely because like, I ha I've done like at least like two tweet storms since I changed it.

And it's, it's, it's really great for, for, um, building your own characters too.
And so I've had, I don't know, good engagement [01:00:00] and, and good response on those. Um, I don't, I don't mind, I don't mind. I'm, I probably won't change it for another five years and so people will just get used to the new one. I'm a wizard now.

Elf: Absolutely. I love it. The, your, your whole process is, is pretty much exactly how I, how I do it myself. Um, yep. Just, it's, you know, it's just sort of free association between images and, and, and ideas and concepts and just like mixing and matching things.
Elf: You've always been a wizard Doda.

And, um, you [01:04:00] know, when we, when we put the affinity feature in our generator, the, the result of that was, it, it sort of helped put these more coherent stories within each wizard. Um, so yeah, I, I love your process. That's pretty much how I do it myself. Thank you. Yep. Yep. Um, yeah. Does, uh, does anybody else have anything to say to, or, or questions for, for ma magus dev.
Dotta: Yeah. I think, um, I think I mentioned before like, uh, even previous avatars I've used have kind of been like within the same vein, like I've played Maple Story like long ago, and like my characters, my wizard that I made in that game was pretty similar to how major Devin ends up looking.

Um, yeah, I think it's dope that she has the Mercury room because the symbolism behind, uh, mercury. Is that he's kind of like the guardian or the messenger between worlds. So that like, fits
So I think in general, because these are very like identifying pieces, I think there are parts of ourselves that we do kind of tie into them. So like, I think if you, if aspecific, if a particular like wizard or something like kind of sticks out to you about to use your avatar, um, chances are it's probably followed.

Madotsuki: in perfectly. Exactly. That's why I thought too, it fit in perfectly. And like I said, I didn't even know before, before I actually was doing the, the, you know, the, the lore building.
Like if somebody were to follow along the lines of for an avatars that you use, it'd probably able to find like an underlying thematic behind what. Brings what, what draws you to that kind of character or that kind of imagery that you're using it as? So I think in a sense, even if you're kind of switching your avatars, [01:01:00] um, it's still part of you.

Like I, I knew the quantum mechanics part of it cuz that's, that's my geeky kind of era. And I knew the, my, the mycelium part of it, cuz I like that too. But um, when it comes to the actual, like the symbology behind that room, I was completely blank, but it just took a quick Google church [01:05:00] and then. It was like, it, it clicked together really well.
It's just maybe different ways of expressing you and how you want to express yourself in that time. So I think, I think, I think you can still build that identity even if you, even if you're going around like kind of swapping around. Cause it's still parts of you that you're showing,

And I was like, I can definitely use this in, in the lure that I'm building. Right. And even if I didn't initially had the idea of using it, I was able to incorporate it and it made that, it, it made it, you know, a lot more, um, I wanna say it gave it a lot more depth to that lure just because I was able to incorporate that really well.
Elf: you summoned a wizard and now the wizard has summoned you.

And I feel like ruins are really great because, because they're symbolism and there's so many different cultures that have so many different meanings for them that it's actually, they're actually one of the most flexible parts I think that, um, that you can use. If in, of course, you know, I, I, I say this too to other people when they, when they ask like, what are the ruins for?
Yep. Um, okay guys, I think we have Okay. I think we're outta time. Yeah. Um, thank you so much. This was the second Wizard Wednesday. Come back next Wednesday for the third Wizard Wednesday. This has Ben Elfin Dota channeling out from the quantum downs. Thank you.

Um, your room doesn't have to be important either. If you're making your character, you know, it can just be, if anything, some, some wizards may just like you as a cool accessory, similar to like a, like a tattoo that looks awesome. Like that's cool. All, all power to you.

Elf: Yep. Absolutely. So awesome. Yeah, it to, to me it's really cool also how like, I.

Like I, when, when we were making this collection, I really wanted to respect what the generator gave us. [01:06:00] I mean, we certainly, we took a lot of passes with it, but I always still wanted to consider the generator like a, a real member of the team. And so one of the coolest things that the generator did was it like put pieces together that you would normally think don't go together at all.

Um, And so when, then when it does that, you have to like, you're forced to be like, okay, well what does this extra piece mean? What does this ruin mean? Normally I wouldn't have put this ruin with this wizard, but the generator did it. So now I have to like figure out how to make it work. And that, that just creates, like, it pushes your brain into whole new territory.

It pushes, it pushes your brain out of the box. And um, whole new original creations occur with that. With that, I can't wait until we get like a virtual

Dotta: human assistant or some

Elf: kind of oracle and we'll have like our very own forgotten ruins Oracle, and we can like, you know, endow with that. Yeah, totally.

It's super cool.

Madotsuki: I can't let you do that [01:07:00] time job. It just turns on you.

Elf: Um, okay, so we're coming up on the, the end of the hour. Uh, but before we go, are there any, is there anyone else in the audience who would like to say something? Any questions, comments, concerns? Raise your hand.

Looks like, oh, we got one request. Okay. Looks like a member of the Cobalt horde is coming up. Be careful guys. Hello? Hello.

Madotsuki: How's it going? Hey. Hey, everybody. Um, this is, this is Jtk from the Discord. I've also known this flash step, but I really just wanted, Hey, jt. Hey. How's it going? Dope. What's up?

Elf: I really just wanted to hop on and kind of just say a, like, every single time that I go through like the Twitter and kind of like look through everything, whenever [01:08:00] someone's looking at the code or curious about what's happening out being on chain, I always see Goda

Madotsuki: responding and someone

Elf: being so excited about how it was coded.

So I really wanted to shout out to you to be like, I have no idea from the technical side how this is done, obviously, but everyone seems to be really intrigued and appreciates what you've done for the project. And I think I just wanted to give you like, you know, a nod that that's awesome and aside that don't understand, but so cool.

Like, so cool. Because I think if we're talking about a long term play, it's so important too to have that side of everything right. And I can, you know, talk about, until I'm blue in the face, how much I love the art that Elvis put together. I even went down the rabbit hole and like

Madotsuki: found some of your art that was on wearable and saw it for a one for one that I was gonna buy.

Now it's at two eat. And so it's outta my price range. But

Elf: like you both are amazing and I, I can't express how cool this is and how it's gravitated so many people to the same spot to create these stories that I think will go on for

Madotsuki: years.

Elf: Yes. I would like to second that Dota is literally a smart contract wizard.[01:09:00]

Thanks guys. Yeah.

Dotta: I need to write a blog post too about. Like how that works. Um, you know, standing on the shoulders of giants there. Um, and thank you very much. Yeah, I think one of the things when we, when we set out to do this project is, you know, we set out to do like a hundred year, um, project that it would be something that, like we got, we, we, we checked the details early on to make sure that we got everything right.

Like when you create a new work, you can never be sure about how it will be accepted, but by like paying attention to the details early on, you can make sure you give it kind of its best shot at the world. And so I'm really thankful that we were able to spend those time on those details early on. I

Elf: think, I know I probably speak for a lot of people here.

I think they feel the same way. And like what you all said earlier in this episode, This community, and I said it [01:10:00] earlier in Chad and Discord, the whole like, uh, on one thing versus us when it comes to voting, I think that's everything, right? Because it's grassroot community coming

Madotsuki: together to 20 k

Elf: versus the one, like one or two K in our discord, right?

And like some people don't think it's as important, but I think it really speaks to the volume of where this is going and how obsessed. I'll tell. I mean, I can say it, I'm obsessed with the project. I have other N F T players. I'm, I, I like and enjoy, but nothing holds my attention as this project has. And I think that's for a lot of people here.

So really, I mean, I'm taking up too much time here. I really wanted to say thank you and I'm looking forward

Madotsuki: for like, the years to come with this project.

Elf: Thank you. Yeah, likewise. Thank you. Thank you so much. Um, mind you came up. Did you have a question? Comment? Hey, what's going on guys? Hey, uh, hello. Yeah, I'm, I'm obsessed too.

I'm not gonna lie. Uh, it's really, honestly consumed my, my, uh, my life these past couple weeks. [01:11:00] Um, yeah, I, I did wanna ask, uh, I saw somebody talking in, uh, discord. They were asking about possible translations of like the roadmaps or the website for different languages, um, just to, for, I guess for easier reading for, you know, different, uh, for people from, from different countries.

Uh, um, and I had one more thing I, I just blanked out. Geez. Oh, yeah. I did wanna, I did wanna say two. I did wanna say too, guys, uh, like wizard by wizard. Um, the affinities are amazing, but also if you guys see something that speaks with you, make sure you guys buy and hold because I almost got priced out trying to like, acquire another wizard.

So if you guys just like something, just, just hold it down because. You know, the, the, I just feel like the trajectory of this project is just so crazy that you don't know, you don't want to like, try to buy something and sell something and the next thing you know, you're priced out. So, and that's what's happening to me cuz I, I [01:12:00] had a, a wizard that I liked and I, I felt attached to another, another wizard, and now I, I got priced out, so I had to, I, I found another, I bought another wizard, but I just regret, you know, not being able to just hold onto that wizard and, you know, uh, because you don't know what, what's gonna happen.

Like one, the, this thing is gonna shoot up because it's, it's, it's just an amazing project. It's really consumed my, my days with writing lore. I've been doing like animations for it and everything, so, uh, I'm sorry guys. I just, I just like, I don't know, I just been nerding out with this, so I really appreciate what you guys are doing in this space.

Yeah, I love

Dotta: like seeing kind of the animations and the lore and the creations on, on these wizards and, and yeah, I like this idea. A lot of localizing what we're doing. Um, I, yeah, I, cuz I, I'll notice sometimes for example, like I'll go to bed and then we'll get up and there'll be sort of activity. Um, but it's not even, you know, it's not people who live whatever in the [01:13:00] US or even speak English.

And so I think being able to kind of open up our website to that is a great idea. So, um, yeah. Folks who are listening in, I only know English and so if you're listening in and you want to kind of help out and translate some of the key pages, our website's not so big yet. Um, and so I would love, love for some help in kind of making that happen.

So just re DM me on Discord and we'll chat.

Elf: Yeah, I mean, speaking of that, we do have one person named, I think it's Chi Chica Cato, um, who I, I believe this person translated us into Japanese. Um, yeah, it's Japanese. Yeah. Yeah. So if you're in the audience, thank you for doing that. Um, super awesome. And, but yeah, we're definitely open to any other languages.

I also only know English, um, typical American, but yeah, if, yeah, if you guys are translators, then please feel free to tr [01:14:00] translate away.

Um, cool. On that, on that. Yeah, go for it. Go for it. Yeah. On that, um,

Dotta: the website is being, uh, yeah, built around a lot of the documentation is around markdown files, and so yeah, I will work on, uh, getting localized versions of any of those markdown files. Um, so if you're not familiar, markdown is like a syntax that's, you know, it's a, a little bit harder than Google Docs, but not much.

Um, and so, um, really anyone who wants to create pages or if there's documentation or you wanna do contributions, we're trying to make that very easy. You can do that for our GitHub repo. The Forgotten Rouge website is totally open source. So that's everything from these documentation pages to even the summoning, all of, uh, like not only the like game engine and the game assets and the, um, meta mass configuration.

It's all there. Um, and so I, if [01:15:00] you know one, if you're an interested coder, you can look at that. But two, the point that I'm trying to make is if you are in, if you look at our documentation on our website and you're like, oh, this sucks, why don't they talk more about like the political system or something, or like how, like how to buy an N F T for new wizards.

Like please. Um, I spent basically all day with acrylic. Um, re rewriting a lot of these pages, rewriting the WTF page, rewriting about the murals and the roadmap, and the commissions and the summoning. And so if you have, um, you know, knowledge that you find, a lot of people are coming into Discord, they're asking the same questions.

You know, it's one of the things that's about like, affinity, right? Like we haven't written about Affinity on the website at all. And so, um, if you are the sort of person who is good at writing and you wanna like, contribute, um, again, DM me, we'll talk and, um, we'll we can get that up on the website. I'm working on doing those things regardless, but, you know, I'd love some help.

Elf: Excellent. [01:16:00] Um, okay, I think we're gonna wrap this up. Uh, thanks guys for coming to Wizard Wednesday. I will try to get this uploaded to our SoundCloud. Uh, but until next Wednesday, this has been Elf and Dota channeling out from the Quantum Downs. See you later. Bye.

Wizard Wednesdays Ep. 2

Elf: [00:00:00] Okay. Bam. Tweeted it out. Great. Um, okay, let's, uh, let's just go ahead and get started. Um, let me look at my notes. All right. Welcome. Did you dotta.

Dotta: Yep. Did you at mention in the secret tower? I did. Okay. Sorry. Go ahead.

Elf: Yep. Okay. Uh, welcome to the second Wizard Wizard. Wednesdays, uh, Ethereum is pumping one day ahead of the highly anticipated London hard fork.

Um, so I'm gonna start sharing more of those. Keep it up. My favorite. Yeah, he.

Dotta: He does commissions too, so, uh, yeah, I know. He's one of one of a few members that do commissions. So we'll get a list up on the website too, of, of, of folks if you want to give animation.

Elf: Love it. Yeah. The last one he did was of a wizard eating a green mushroom and vomiting a rainbow.

Um, maybe will even hire him to do something.

Dotta: Is that Alpha? Yeah. Alpha drop.

Elf: Yeah. So good. Um, elsewhere, uh, discord member y m just DMed me with [00:03:00] this beautiful, uh, pixel forest scene that he built for his wizard. I'm gonna share that on Twitter very soon.

Dotta: Is that a Magus Ronald of the sun? Yes, it is. Oh, so good.

I couldn't believe it. I was like, yeah, this background

Tad Major Julian Let Low Zach Jamo and Alchemist lumos of the capital. I want to give you all the big thanks for the work you've done. Yeah. And if I've missed anybody, um, please just tag at forgotten rooms and we will certainly share it. Um,

Dotta: yeah, I've had Tad in the dms and one of the things TA Tad asked is he was like, [00:04:00] oh, can I, you know, my friend, I made a wizard for him.

Elf: Yep. Yep.

Um, we are, we have every intention to make our own metaverse, but also we want you to bring your wizards in other metaverses from other

Dotta: creators. And so these turnarounds are the very first step

Elf: into allowing you to walk in 360 degree directions.

Dotta: Um, it's gonna be great. I, I'm really looking forward to it.

I like wanna walk around with, uh, my wizards and I'm [00:06:00] super looking forward to it when we can share some

Elf: of these artworks. Yes. So much fun. And yeah. And I'll, and I'll be, I'll be sharing work soon. Um, the, uh, progress of that, um,

Dotta: you won't have to wait until it's fully

Elf: finished to see the progress. We'll, we'll slowly share progress as it, as it comes along.

Dotta: Uh, can I talk about the book of,

Elf: uh, Let there, there, I'll have a good segue for that here in a second. Okay, great. Yep. Yep. Uh, so, but yeah, in fact, let me just, hold on. Let me check

Dotta: my, um,

Elf: okay. Yeah, let me just touch on forgotten souls really quick and then we'll segue to the book of Lore. Um, so we are making progress on that as well.

Um, we have fully designed out the numerology involved. We have designed out the risk reward system. Um, now I know that many of you are excited to burn your wizards and you should be. However, I will warn you one should not be too eager to [00:07:00] deal out death and judgment for even the wise cannot see all ins.

Okay? Okay. And so, clearly forgotten Ruins has never been about just delivering the information in a boring, straightforward way. Um, we want to leverage the strengths of all of these mediums in telling it in the most engaging and mysterious, and, uh, Mysterious way that has, uh, the most entertainment value.

In these other, other mediums, you will see yourself represented. Um, and so if everything goes to plan, the kinds of questions that you will see answered are like, why is it that the skeletons in the collection are the only ones with technology? Why are there six hat colors? Why does the word quantum keep showing up?

Who is the key master? Uh, is the goat? My avatar actually evil or is he just a scapegoat? These and many other questions will be answered in due time in these other media expressions. Now, that said, I have also tried to, um, maintain this idea of decentralized law building. And, um, so many of you are writing stories and doing art about your wizards, and it has been so inspiring and so amazing thus far.

So take it away, Doda.

But I'm writing out specific documentation. If you, for example, are a React developer, uh, JavaScript dev and you want to help out with some of the UI there, um, you can reach out to me and we'll be working on that this week. We've just about got the like front end design docs done that. I'm so excited to get this out.

So yeah. So we're working on this and that's

Elf: where we are. Yep, yep. The book of Laura is probably the, one of the most exciting things about this project. It's kind of the whole point of this project and, you know, I I, I, we've had a lot of users express concern about like, well, I'm not really a writer, or I'm not really an artist.

Um, so yeah, I would just encourage you to take a stab at it

Dotta: and Yeah, exactly. Even if you're not an artist or, uh, a poet or a musician or any of these things, um, there are still ways in which you can kind of like replicate your wizard in a particular way. So, um, I have, um, you know, I. Like my kids, for example, even have started building out like little sculptures or paintings of their wizards.

And, um, there's, there's, you know, or maybe you po paint it on a mural or, or maybe you don't do any of that. And we still will help either fund community grants [00:14:00] or you'll just appear in a show regardless. Um, and so there's a lot of ways for these other bits to be created. Yep,

Elf: yep. Um, and then just two more things and then we'll go to the ama.

And then one other thing, we've got bubbling, go ahead. Briefs. Oh, do you wanna say something about that Doto.

Dotta: I just said we're, we'll make some goat head briefs from like MeUndies.

Um, oh boy.

Yep.

Elf: Yep. And uh, you might have to wear hot pink underwear to get it. That's all I'm saying. Ah, that'd be amazing. Okay. Um, and I, okay, so I think that's all the updates I have. Uh, Let's turn it over to the ama. Um, if you'd like to come up and speak. Yeah.

Dotta: Just raise your hand. Well, I have one thing. Yeah. I want to give a shout out to Matsui and Brad.

And yeah, I don't mind, uh, Zuki or Brett, if you wanna post that in the chat. I think anyone who's a wizard should for sure

Elf: check it out. Yep, yep. It's gonna be an awesome, oh, there's, I just said it's gonna be an awesome project.

Dotta: Um, there's one other thing on that regard before we get to the ama, which is around, um, I've been talking to, um, pixel Boy who's in charge of the Pixel glyphs project.

Yep.

Elf: Uh, maggots, did you, uh, have a question?

Dotta: Oh, oh, sorry. Hi. Um, yeah, uh, I just wanted to say hi, guys. Uh, this is Zla Soul from Discord. Oh. I'm just, I'm just operating on JI'S profile and then I'm recording from Lumo, so I, I'm in charge of those two wizards at the moment. Cool. Um, cool. Let me see. Yeah. Oh, I wanted to do maybe a little bit of like getting to know the devs a little bit.

So I wanted to start with Doda. Um, I wanted to know what's the deal with this, this Muppet character. I mean, I'm a big like Jim Henson fan. I was just curious about that.[00:20:00]

Um, I'm not really a puppeteer so much in that. Like, I sometimes I feel like adult men who do puppets kind of seems like mentally unstable, but I just like to build them. But I think the deeper, the deeper like love there is this idea that you kind of take these materials that are just nothing, right?

You're like a stack of foam, you pick up a hobby lobby or like some felt or something and you sit and you work it and then you create life out of it. Um, one of [00:21:00] my favorite, for example, hobbies, Um, to do is like needle felting. I swear. Like if I get rich on NFTs, my hobbies are gonna be like a 70 year old grandmother.

If you just look Google on Pinterest, like needle felting animals or something? No, I, I watched them. Would you see is like, sorry. I watched a, um, a documentary, it was like the Elmo documentary where the puppeteer really went into like, detail about like the felt and everything. So I'm kind of following along.

And so, no, no, I, I think, I think it's something about like information coming through, like the Muppets and things like this, that it bypasses our, like, logistics side of thinking and we're better able to absorb it because it's coming from such a playful place. So I really like, yeah, I resonate with that.

Elf: Yeah. Duda, I got, I gotta second your, um, passion for needle felting. I think needle felting projects are often, I've awesome. I've never made any myself, but I, I get it. It's super cool.

Dotta: I've got a box of Woo. So when you come over next, you can

Elf: build something. You, you know what old lady craft I also think is super awesome and underrated.

Um, CRO, I think it's called crocheting. Where you like Yeah, like just sew, like a design on like a white piece of fabric. Is is that called, is that [00:24:00] crocheting?

Dotta: Crocheting is when you just have the yarn and you, um, oh, like you use the, the sticks. Okay. To, to st to like make like a scarf. Yes. Maybe what you're talking about is like stitch a

Elf: crus stitch.

Yes. Cross stitch. That's what I meant. Yes. Yes. In fact, let me just,

Dotta: oh, I have one more question and then maybe I can pass it over to the next person. Sure. Sorry, we're talking about cross sticks now. Okay.

Elf: Sorry. No more. Oh, I was just, I'm not just

Dotta: joking.

Elf: I'm totally joking. Go ahead. Hold on. I just wanna say one thing.

I just wanna say one thing. If anybody out there can cross stitch my wizard, I will buy that from you. That's all I wanna say.

Dotta: Okay. Oh, there's non fungible rugs and she does like physical rug versions of NFTs and I've been talking to her since before we launched, and I love, I really want, okay. Also was that ze soul that I interrupted.

I was like completely joking. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah, yeah.

Elf: Please, please. No, go ahead.

Dotta: Um, now this question was for El um, I was wondering where you got the name EL from [00:25:00] and what's the deal with the Tiger girl on

Elf: your profile? Um, elf is an anagram of my real name and, uh, tiger Girl. Yeah. So that was, that was the, um, the artwork I was making prior to Wizards.

Um, I was, uh, I mean a lot of my, my work before wizards just deals with like animals and people's relationship to animals. Um, Yeah,

Dotta: so, so you should know that Elf in real life is, um, Like a huge animal lover. Um, you know, I think for years his profile picture was him holding like a baby faw and like, where do you get a faw?

Like, we have Fs in our neighborhood and they won't give me, let me get anywhere near it. But he sort of has that kind of, um, like care and gentleness and I don't know, maybe it was someone's pet fn, but they still wouldn't surprise me if you, you were just like, no, that was a wild f that I just [00:26:00] found. And like, if you flip through his Facebook, which I won't tell you cuz he is an A whatever, but elf has pictures of him with like lizards and like fur babies and like, you know, baths and they're like, so animals appear in his art cuz like animals are a part of his life.

And,

Elf: um, yeah, I, uh, I lived in Costa Rica at one point and all I did all day, every day was hike around in the jungle trying to catch poisonous and deadly animals.

Dotta: Uh, Yeah. Like real life Pokemon. Yeah.

Elf: Um, yeah. Thank you.

Dotta: Yeah. Um, oh, oh,

Elf: oh,

Dotta: oh. What's up buddy? Hey, everybody. How you doing? Hey, uh, I'm good. I don't think I've ever heard your voice before.

Hello. I know it's,

I hope it's not disappointing you. Um, no. Yeah, you can call me. O o works, I think the best. Okay. Tea. Easy. Uh, okay, great. [00:27:00] Yeah. Trying to work out whatever. I'm

Elf: done. I just want, since, since

Dotta: we've got you, since we've got you on here, I just want to give like a public thank you to all of your help moderating the channel.

I feel like you've done just such a good job over the last few, like, whatever it's been month and, um, yeah. Thank like, uh,

Elf: just so glad you talked. Yeah. You were with us from the very beginning, so, Very beginning. Yeah.

Dotta: Thank you. No, yeah. Um, I appreciate you guys too. I think, uh, this project's really cool. I like the vibe you're kind of delivering through the art and also, um, in what you're kind of doing in terms of, you know, maintaining this hair of mystery in their own.

Um, would the spreadsheets be kind of, uh, like sort of strife moving left and right or are you looking to get us moving in different ways too? Have you thought that far ahead

Elf: yet? Yes, definitely. Yeah, you'll be able to walk in all directions. Um, so yeah, let, let me just say a few things about that. So number one, the reason that this, uh, spreadsheet project is not going as fast as I would like it to is that I've got a day job.

Um, but the first step is doing a full turnaround of these wizards. So that's, that's why we're doing it in this way.

Cuz we're moving in so many different directions and I feel like that can be a bit of overwhelming or it could be a bit dense to try and get into if you're just looking at the wizards, what's happening. Yep. We talk like every day about how the shortcomings of the website and how we need to make the website better.

Um, I think that like, yeah, we wanted for, at the very least, we wanna build out more documentation on the website that talks about the mission, the projects we have in progress. What it means to own a wizard, what the technicalities are behind it, what it means to be a wizard, how to get help in the [00:32:00] community.

It's just like every day we're talking about these ideas and we still haven't put them on paper for, you know, you have to be a super fan to kind of show up or like, there's only what there, you know, there's maybe 30 people here, there's a lot of other people outside. We wanna be able,

Eric,

Elf: you're breaking really badly.

Um, we've, yeah, we've just got like a million pieces floating around in the air right now, [00:33:00] and we need to, um, organize it better and put it more, put it all on our website. Um, so you're absolutely right and we're, we're working on it.

Dotta: I, I, I wanna say like, um, you know, part of the, part of the fun of this has been kind of working out for myself as well anyway, so I kind of, um, appreciate that.

Yeah. There'll be large events and things like, I can imagine that happening. I don't think that, um, it'll be the whole world. It won't be like, I don't, I don't, not imagining a ready player once an hour, but I imagine it becomes a larger and large space that more and more people will get involved in.

Um, but as far as like [00:35:00] lore and uh, backs stories, that's the sort of thing that I want to deliver in a more interesting way and not just spell it out in a superficial face value way.

Yep.

Elf: Yep. And we'll update that for sure. In fact, speaking of the roadmap, uh, the next thing on it is a, um, granting commercial rights, uh, Doda, do you wanna talk about that?

Dotta: Yeah, I wish I had more progress than yesterday, other than just, um, but it, what, sorry? When I say yesterday, I mean last week. So one of the things that we have kind of [00:36:00] adjusted in even talking to our lawyer, um, I think that what we're gonna do is previously we'd said something like, oh, we're gonna copy Larva Labs and do like a hundred thousand dollars like commercial rights cap or something.

Is you, you wanna be able to make a big bet if you're gonna try to go for commercial rights with your wizards. Um, so we still haven't finalized anything, but let me just talk about this idea and maybe we can get some feedback from folks on if they like it, dislike it. But I think what we're basically thinking is, um, to do that you have like commercial [00:37:00] rights to all the wizards that you hold up to a million dollar cap.

That's the blanket, right? And if you feel like, oh, 20% is too much, um, then you can come to us and we can kind of negotiate like a better rate. Like maybe someone's saying like, oh, I'm doing these like derivative works. Like, you know, wizards are existing in like pop wonders and my pop wonders do like millions of dollars.

Um, like I basically just want like some sort of, some sort of way to bring massive players to a negotiating table, but while still letting everyone who kind of owns an individual wizard feel like they have like, ownership of their character and ownership to do what they want, to make derivative works that they want.

Is that something that, um, they've thought about? Like, that's just a cynical part of me thinking that it might be easier for them to just deal with the wizards that you own rather than the wizards that are spread throughout the collection. The, there it's not a big problem because like at the moment on paper, Like, we haven't actually granted like a legal structure of rights to anyone.

Exactly. And we wanna keep the ability to like to, to, to do, to negotiate on your behalf because we can negotiate a better deal than any individual wizard and like we can protect the community as a whole. Yeah.

Elf: It, it, it, it would also just be way faster if we could just negotiate on the behalf of the entire collection instead of dealing with everyone individually, we can get a better [00:42:00] deal.

There was one guy who was like, who gave like the standard, I don't understand crypto, I think it's a scam. I don't get it at all. Um, sure. But like even he wasn't necessarily against the idea of returning royalties. He just basically didn't under crypto. Um, so yeah, yeah,

Dotta: yeah. He wasn't even into like Bitcoin overall. So there, there was a lot of steps there. Yeah. To get him into N F T

Elf: royalties. Yeah. But like, you know, just some [00:43:00] inside baseball, you know, on the other end of that, one person was like, he was like, I love this project. Super interested. He's like, for the past few months I've had so many people come to me with.

And therefore, that's one reason I'm interested in working

Dotta: with you. Yeah. Well, and to, to clarify that, it wasn't even just that we knew what we were talking about. He was like, I'm meeting about N F T projects every single day, and we tell most of them, no, but this is the one that might actually work.

Because it wasn't just that we know what we're talking about, but it was just like, The idea of [00:44:00] wizards and the characters Oh yeah. In the world. And just like everything all kind of fit together in a way that could actually Yeah. And

Elf: that, that is the first and foremost Yeah. Selling point is they've gotta like the art, the content, the characters.

That's the most important thing. Yeah. The nft angle was just icing on the top. Yep.

Um, okay. Is anyone else trying to request to speak? Um, we have maybe 10 ish more minutes to go. Um,

everybody's too shy to come up.

Yeah.

It's just got oozing with that, um, nineties comic book art style. It's very greedy and it's, it's, it's, yeah, it's really great. Definitely

Elf: check it out. Yep. So good.

Dotta: Mm-hmm. And then if you guys haven't seen the, the 3D models either for the, the Wizards, um, we had, uh, Trevor Jones that did that, that contest for the, for three Special Wizards.

Um, he did really great job of doing those models.

Dotta: What's up everybody? What's up? Hello. Okay, man. How you guys doing? No. Yeah, I just came up cause I didn't know if, uh, if Matsui was gonna be able to speak or not. When you mentioned Avenue. So I had missed the first part of the call and, uh, nothing. Good. Cool. I am, uh, loving everything that's going on and what you guys are talking about.

Yeah, definitely. So I understand that's right from the realm of what you guys want us to be able to do about characters. Like if I own Doug and, you know, I should be able to, to use her character and the project's. Not like, you know, something like, like, just like that. Especially with just for more of a personal representation of myself.

Right. Yeah, I definitely see what you guys mean. That's, that's, that's perfect. Have there been any, uh, hurdles you guys have come across when talking to these people about, or like, or when, or how much you want to give as far as commercial rights to the, uh,

community

Elf: members? Uh, Tom, you

Dotta: um, oh yeah. I just wanted to ask, uh, cuz Dota tweeted about the space and said music question mark and I, I don't remember.

Was there some announcement about music or maybe I missed it.

Elf: Okay. Hold on. We, we've got two different things. I'm

Dotta: a delay, I'm on a delay [00:49:00] or El is on a delay and I'm not sure who it is. I think

Um, yeah, that's all I'll say about that. Some, something along those lines. [00:50:00] Um, Doda, are you, are you back?

Dotta: I think, tell me if I'm slow or not. Nope, that was right on cue. You're good. Okay. Um, yep. I think one of the things we haven't had too much trouble with regards to commercial rights. I think it's mostly, I don't know if you're asking about commercial rights or shows.

What's your actual, like, legal document? What are you granting? And I have to sheepishly be like, oh well we wanna do this, we wanna do that, but we don't actually have the language. And they're like, okay cool. Tell me when your lawyer like gives you the documents because we need like something in black and white.

Um, and so I'm just working with our lawyer to get that done. You know? I [00:51:00] know I've been saying this for weeks. I'll probably be staying it for a couple more weeks just cuz it's not fast. Um, yeah. But we're working on it.

Elf: Yep. Cool. Cool. Um, we've got five minutes left. Anyone else?

Dotta: Um, maybe we can like, touch back on this like hierarchy of NFTs, uh, Dota, is that like some original thing you came up with?

Elf: Super interesting. Yeah, go for it. NoDa. Yeah. Uh, well,

Um, but I was just wondering about that. I don't have really any thoughts, but I thought it was very interesting thread.

Elf: We're happy to have you. Yeah. Uh, Magus, to answer your question, yes. Doda created that whole n f t hierarchy by himself as far as

It's not just that layer of like fundraising, but there's, there's a sense of like community and belonging and status and storytelling and, and identity that, that, that really drive the value. And so there's a sense in which like NFTs, you know, if you invest in sort of some defi coin and then like the founder leaves or the contract gets hacked, you don't really have [00:56:00] anything kind of left or the value

that are fundamental value than a lot of mead coins. So it's just something you've been thinking a lot about. And I think that

Dotta: Um, yeah, and I think like any person who plays Fortnite or who like has spent money on Fortnite, like gets the idea of NFTs.

Elf: You

Dotta: should. I mean, I think that it helps people recognize you over time to have the same branding and profile picture, but ultimately Twitter is a place where your ideas rain. And so it's hard for me to like dig to dissect it too closely because like, I ha I've done like at least like two tweet storms since I changed it.

And so I've had, I don't know, good engagement [01:00:00] and, and good response on those. Um, I don't, I don't mind, I don't mind. I'm, I probably won't change it for another five years and so people will just get used to the new one. I'm a wizard now.

Elf: You've always been a wizard Doda.

Dotta: Yeah. I think, um, I think I mentioned before like, uh, even previous avatars I've used have kind of been like within the same vein, like I've played Maple Story like long ago, and like my characters, my wizard that I made in that game was pretty similar to how major Devin ends up looking.

So I think in general, because these are very like identifying pieces, I think there are parts of ourselves that we do kind of tie into them. So like, I think if you, if aspecific, if a particular like wizard or something like kind of sticks out to you about to use your avatar, um, chances are it's probably followed.

It's just maybe different ways of expressing you and how you want to express yourself in that time. So I think, I think, I think you can still build that identity even if you, even if you're going around like kind of swapping around. Cause it's still parts of you that you're showing,

Elf: you summoned a wizard and now the wizard has summoned you.

Yep. Um, okay guys, I think we have Okay. I think we're outta time. Yeah. Um, thank you so much. This was the second Wizard Wednesday. Come back next Wednesday for the third Wizard Wednesday. This has Ben Elfin Dota channeling out from the quantum downs. Thank you.
