The Chair Bear of the Grand Library

Chair Bears are magical inhabitants of the Runiverse, found mostly in indoor environments like libraries, studies, and sitting rooms. Their rarity and unique traits make these creatures a fascinating subject of study. Chair Bears enjoy being sat in by Wizards who are kind & respectful. 1.

Appearance and Habitat

More comfortable indoors where they're protected from the elements, Chair Bears have developed a peculiar method of travel to avoid exposure to harsh weather conditions: book teleportation. 2.

Diet and Effects

Chair Bears maintain a diet largely consisting of various woods, sticks, logs, broken wooden furniture, and even old tomes. This feeding habit has a soothing side effect: the act of chewing induces a relaxing massage motion for anyone sitting on the Chair Bear, creating a mutually beneficial relationship with weary wizards. 3.

Reproduction and Health

Chair Bears possess a unique digestive system. They transform the pulp and paper they ingest into fresh, leather-bound books. A healthy Chair Bear will produce high-quality books on a range of topics, including math, science, storytelling, and more. 4.

However, when undernourished or fed low-quality food such as MDF press boards, poorly made flat-pack furniture, word search activity books, or tabloid magazines, the health of a Chair Bear deteriorates. They cease producing books and instead expel poor-quality writing, including badly written pulp fiction novels, picture-less Playboy magazines, misleading news articles, and worst of all, issues of US Weekly magazine. 5.

Notable Chair Bears

One of the oldest known Chair Bears resides in the Grand Library of the Runiverse. 6.

Warrior Allergies

Not all interactions with Chair Bears are positive, however. Many warriors have reported allergies to these creatures, resulting in discomfort such as hives or rashes during prolonged periods of sitting and reading. 7.
