Wizard Wednesday Episode 28
=
Elf: [00:00:00] It's Wednesday everybody. We are wizards. It's time for our weekly Cult Me meeting a K A Wizard Wednesday and dammit, we are just exclamation point magic. This is Elf and, and Locklin and Bear channeling in from the quantum downs. And the bear came on the. Sorry. There you go. There's the bear, the bear enthusiasm.
Bear, you were sounding a little bearish. We have a lot to go over today. Um, I just wanna start with a few updates. Uh, so one of the exciting things that's just happened, if you have not noticed. Is, uh, our Wizard Wednesday video on YouTube, uh, now has visuals. Um, it's no longer just a static image of the [00:01:00] secret tower.
Uh, we have new cult member. Beef, although his name is spelled B three three F, uh, he answered my call, job call immediately. In last Wi Wizard Wednesday, I was looking for a video editor. Um, and uh, yeah, he answered it immediately and he turned the video around and one day and he did an awesome job. I'm hoping from now on our Wizard Wednesday videos on YouTube will have visuals as well.
He also just cut out a lot of the dead space, so the video just has a much better pace. Um, and so yeah, I, I love it. Uh, our YouTube channel is just getting better and better, but there's also a video that we uploaded last week. Um, just a fun little chill out video with this great gift that, uh, a student, a student at Cal Arts made for us.
Um, his name is Isaac Obina. Uh, he's one of the [00:02:00] students I interviewed and he's awesome. He totally understands NFTs, and so I think he's gonna make more of those for us. Um, and it turned out to be a really great video. Um, yeah. Anything you guys wanna say about that Dota bear? Nope. All right, cool. We put a calendar update in Discord recently, you know, and you know what's funny is like, I looked at that, that calendar update and yes, we certainly have a lot of amazing things going.
Um, but I feel like there's a, like a good handful of. Other, just like, I don't know, surprises I guess, that we're working on that aren't even on the calendar. And I feel like they're almost just as big.
Dotta: It's true. There's so much, there's so much going on. I like, that's why like my energy into Wizard Wednesday is like, and actually lock is, is in the barricade with me today.
Let's go. And, um, I just can't even keep my head straight. It's, there's so much happening. It's, it's, uh, it's great. Yeah. Yeah, so just to go [00:03:00] over it here, the update that we posted. So, I mean, so as you know, kind of the, the magic machine team, um, there's, gosh, I don't know, I think there's like seven or eight of us now and, and I kind of lost count and, and we're pretty much all of us all working every day on all of these things for the, for the universe.
So the things we posted in the update are, uh, the comic book. So just to kind of touch on these, the comic book, we're looking to print physical versions and it'll be free, right? We're not doing crazy technomics there. The point of it is to get the stories into the hands of people everywhere, um, physical copies, and it's gonna be really, really fun and we can't wait to share it.
Um, 3D wizards, we're in production. Um, we hopefully should be starting to kind of like share early things. Um, there soon, the 3D wizards is, it's still, it's still gonna take some time, right? It won't be summer until we have everything done, but that's what coming up. Uh, warriors, which is yeah, the, the, the, the announcement says [00:04:00] near completion.
You know, I think that's debatable. We have, we, we want it to be right. Uh, but we're working on Warriors. Uh, the TV show we are having really like positive meetings with a lot of people, um, for, we're looking for a showrunner actually, in fact. Uh, and so yeah, we hopefully should hire a showrunner soon as well as a writer.
The game and the land sale totally in production. We meet with our game developers on a regular basis, uh, and uh, the land sales coming along, um, soles and ponies, walk cycles. Working on it. There's a lot of details there. Um, N F T N Y C Bear is a professional party planner, and, uh, that, you know, I, I don't, I don't know exactly what we'll, what we're gonna call that, but, um, Maybe it's like the, the Wizards in the weird house at NFT n yc.
We'll see. And, uh, yeah, uh, merch drop number two in the spring. Um, and then, uh, and then [00:05:00] Beast. Everyone wants to know about Beasts. You know, one of the things I realized actually is this was like kind of the like formal sort of saying that we're even doing beasts and, um, uh, we'll talk a little bit about that.
I mean, I'm not sure I'm ready to dive into that in a second. So that, that right there is just. Kind of all the, well, that's the public stuff that Magic Machine is working on. Uh, well, I'll pause there and let you address that. Maybe we could talk about some of the culture-driven projects we've seen this week.
Elf: Well, I just wanted to add on really quick that, so the trailer is done, at least visually, the sound is like 95% done. And we have been using that, um, I don't know, as a calling card, like we've been showing it around the entertainment industry to people that we wanna work with. And it has gone such a long way to showing people that we're serious, that we know what we're doing.
And it makes people wanna be involved with us. I mean, bear, can you, like, I think you've been more privy to this, like what's some of the reactions you've been getting on the
Dotta: trailer? A good one [00:06:00] today was from like a really big, uh, I think I talked about last week, like we have to some, in some instances we have to go through, uh, agencies to meet with certain writers.
Yeah. And so I got an email this morning that said, holy shit, this is an actual show. Yeah. And I was like, yeah. That's it. It is, it is. It looks like a show. Um, and so, yeah, I just think we're just really happy with it. It, it looks, looks fantastic and I think it, it, for me, it just paints a picture of what this world can look like.
Um, and a lot of people are like, wait, it's doesn't look like eight bit, everybody sort of expects it to look like N Nintendo. Yeah. And it really doesn't. So I think that's really cool. And. And I think that's for people who don't even really know who we are. So I, I'm really looking forward to the reaction to the people that we care about most.
And those are the people on, on this call and in the discord on Twitter to get their reactions. Because this is like the first reveal beyond like PO content. This will be like the first [00:07:00] reveal of what, of like a magic machine produced. Non eight lizard and it's gonna be, I think
Elf: people are gonna be still it.
I was just gonna say, I do think you're kind of underselling it. I think one guy literally jumped out of his seat. Um, and then I think another person's face literally melted off.
Dotta: Yeah. He's still in the hospital,
Elf: so, uh, yeah, no, it's, it's great. I can't wait to release it. Uh, go ahead Donna.
Dotta: No, I just double, I just want to double down on that idea though.
I think I, I'm really excited for people to see. I think something clicks when you see the trailer to see, um, the, the world of the universe, but also especially this idea that like, this isn't purely like an eight bit project. Um, and that's not like we're planning on doing kind of, you know, um, an eight bit style show.
And so I think that idea of getting the concepts or the ideas of like show style wizards out into the world more is something that I think we, we definitely wanna do as time progresses.
Elf: Well, it, it's, it's also that, and it's also showing [00:08:00] people that we're not just purely an N F T project, we're. Right.
We're bigger than that. And you know, you know, Hollywood, it's, they're in the, they're in this peculiar place where they all wanna get involved in NFTs, but they have no freaking clue what they are or how to use them. And so if we can show them something that they do understand, like a minute and a half piece of badass animation, it just, it goes such a
Dotta: long way.
Yeah. Everybody would be, everybody would be really surprised. That the people involved in the entertainment industry, the gatekeepers, the development executives, the agents, the managers, you know, it's, it's amazing how, how, how much work you have to do to, to like sh Like there's such little imagination and there's good ones out there of course, but in general, there's very little imagination for the people who hold the keys.
To the TV shows and to the films, and so, yep. This is like one of the reasons we did this, and El and I both have experienced this as, as past writers, is like, you know, the de [00:09:00] facto answer is just no. Um, and we've just heard a million times on our own projects like why it won't work. And so that's one of the, the beautiful things about this project is like we don't really have to ask permission.
We want to make a trailer to show what this to, to like explore what this could look like. We did it, we just do, we don't ask, we don't have to like ask permission. Yeah. We don't have to say, Hey, like we need to go find, like, will someone pay for a trailer? Like we'll do it. We're just gonna do it ourselves and ask permission.
So it's very important. Well, I think, and I think that's a good lead into like, something that I'm concerned about. Even as we talk about the trailer, we're like, oh, it's almost done. It's almost done. It makes us sound like we're gonna be able to release it in the next couple of weeks, which isn't true.
Right. I mean, I think one of the, the, the reasons I hesitate talking about the trailers, cuz it will be a bit of time before we do like a public reveal because the, the move that we're trying to play is drop. Like to use Warriors to raise, [00:10:00] well, I don't wanna say Raise. Magic Machine wants to use some of the funds that we get as revenue, um, to, to pay for a TV show, which is as much as something like $15 million.
And so Warriors is a good reason for Magic Machine to have that, that revenue. And we want to be able to use this trailer as hype for Warriors. So I think when do we drop Warriors? When do we drop Warriors? I think. You know, um, Probably on like the edge of World War III is not the best time to drop, so it's like gonna be a bit of time.
Um, so, or it's the best time, right? Maybe. Maybe. Yeah. Like, maybe not just before. Maybe during, I'm not sure, but I'm just saying it's like it's not gonna be in March. Like it's not, like we're probably not gonna drop warriors in March. We'll be sure to give you a heads up. So I just want to be like, realistic about the timeline.
I think we mostly want to share, like we've, we've got the visuals done for this trailer. And we're showing it to sort of like gatekeepers to get a real [00:11:00] show writers showrunners. Like the goal here is like my goal and I'm, you know, is, is to get a real show that we can show on Netflix or some sort of stream streamer like that.
And so we're just kinda sharing like progresses. This trailer is opening doors. Like bear with us before we release it
Elf: publicly. Yeah. Making the thing is one challenge. Devising the strategy around releasing it is a totally other thing. And that's, so that's what we're on now. The cult content has just, again, been blowing my mind lately.
I didn't get a chance to give any shout outs last week. There was some phenomenal stuff last week and then there's some phenomenal stuff this week, you know? And, and I think we're also gonna talk about the new Forgotten Council today. Is that right? Doda? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So we've
Dotta: got. Ji, bam, bam, slick chick, all four members of the council who are up here, that, we'll, we'll talk about it a little bit.
So yeah,
Elf: let let, so yeah, let me give a little bit of a lead in, into that though. Um, and it's just, you know, just about community. [00:12:00] Thi this community is just getting incredibly vibrant and nuanced and complex. And I'm seeing these new facets, these new cultural pockets popping up every day. I'm seeing new styles.
I'm seeing new artists, new takes on wizards. New lore. New crossovers, and, and I know that the phrase I. We're just getting started is a cliche meme at this point. Everybody says that, but I truly feel that it applies here and, and I'm not just talking about magic machines. Big plans like the animation in the comic and the game I'm talking about where the cult themselves is taking all of this.
How far. You all are pushing this because I see what you're doing and I see where you're taking it. Having a wizard is not just about taking ownership of a single token, it's about taking ownership of the community as a whole. Taking ownership of the universe world and that [00:13:00] every little piece of lore you contribute not only builds up your character, but makes the world itself bigger.
So putting your room on the door is not just about alerting the world of your presence, but it's about building a whole commonwealth of doors and ruins. And what's so great is this project is perfectly designed for that. It's perfectly designed for web three, cuz Web three is all about. Owning your identity, which means no longer does a large solo corporation own your data.
You own it and you are taking it back and you are inscribing it onto the world in your own unique way because you can do it better than they can. That's what the creator economy is all about. But it's actually more than that. It's the magic e economy. It's magic because. Everyone has their own unique spell book that is not systematized into this rubric of a corporation that mines your spells for advertising dollars.
[00:14:00] Your spells defy these terms of service. You are a free human being that is more than a pair of eyeballs that's being exploited for ad impressions. You're a goddamn wizard and Web three has no idea what magic you have in store for it. We are truly just getting started and I think the Forgotten Council is an excellent next iteration of what this community is all about.
Yeah.
Dotta: Absolutely. Yeah. So the, the, the context I'll to give a little bit for the Forgotten Council is, um, the, this idea around wanting to have a group that kind of represents the community. And so I think I'll let Slick Jake speak to that a little bit. But one of the things that, um, has kind of even accelerated, uh, the group there is baby wizards.
So when I first saw. When I first, you know, saw baby wizards, I knew that people were going to love them, but I have to say that I actually was not [00:15:00] expecting that it would generate. Uh, as much eat as it did for sort of, for the community. And so I, yeah, I for sure want to take a moment and recognize, um, bill Gaines and Acid eater for their work there.
And then just really their generosity. You know, there was no reason that they couldn't have, for example, kept that I, it's somewhere around like $500,000, um, in eat, maybe a little more. And there's no reason that they couldn't have sort of kept that for themselves. But no, they said, no, we're just doing this for fun.
We wanna do this for part of the community. And they gave, you know, 90% of the eth, uh, two. This group called The Forgotten Council. Amazing. Uh, it's really amazing. Um, and, uh, let's talk about the Forgotten Council. Uh, slick Chick. If you're, if you're here and you, you'd like to, but I, another thing that I wanted to make sure we talk about is the Wizard Marketplace.
Um, so TV has done an amazing job setting up basically this like cult created open source like Wizard Marketplace. And so, yeah. Um, the, the underlying kind of underneath that marketplace, there's a, there's a software called Reservoir Protocol, which is like, You know, sta really, really [00:16:00] interesting, but for sure check out the wizard, uh, marketplace if you haven't already.
And, and, and the way that the fees are kind of set up there is that like sales, that kind of originate and trade hands there. Um, a portion of this actually goes back to, uh, the Forgotten Council as well. So, you know, when you can look on there and you can see affinity, you can see the location of the wizard, you can see the lore for the wizard.
You can filter by wizards that have lore, wizards that don't have lore. So like, be sure to check out, uh, the Forgotten Marketplace. But, um, but yeah. Uh, let's see. I, I think that Slick wanted to share a bit. There's a group of nine wizards. The nine people are myself. Bam, bam. Jisu Zuki, retired yield farmer, the one who rings tv, Methodist, and Slick chick.
So it's the nine of us. Um, and then it requires a vote of five. So all five of us have to agree to sort of like pass, uh, you know, to, to use the funds in this, uh, treasury. But really the idea was we just got together and said, [00:17:00] Hey, let's form a group that can, that can aim to represent the community. Um, and I think this.
Yeah, this meeting is just being able to talk about. Um, what we plan to do and how we think about how we spend this money and how we have accountability to the community. Uh, our
Elf: big
Sharon: thing too is, uh, transparency and just being as clear as possible about every detail of what we're discussing, what we're talking about, and making sure that we are earning and building the trust of people in the community.
So, um, this council was put together probably about a month ago, and, uh, definitely our. Um, documents were accelerated with the, uh, 200 eth burning, um, hole in our, in our wallet. And we're like, okay, this is amazing and we need to get started and, uh, and really make sure that we are representing the community to the maximum of what we are capable of doing.
Uh, so I just want to run through very quickly in introduction of the House of Wizards. Um, Doda did post. In the [00:18:00] announcements, a link to a blog post that I'm gonna do in a bridge version of right now. And, uh, there's also a forgotten council notion document that you can get linked to that notion document will break out all of the different facets of the House of Wizards in greater detail.
And then we have a Discord chat channel where, um, if you have any questions, comments, concerns. You can communicate in there. Our, uh, nine council members are spread across three continents, and I don't know how many time zones, but it's definitely a, in our private chat while we're sorting things out, it's going 24 hours.
So you should be able to get prompt responses. We don't know the answers to everything yet, so bear with us and if you have any suggestions, please uh, chime in and contribute. So I'm just gonna run through very quickly and then, uh, and then we can open up the floor for questions. So the House of Wizards, the house is essentially where every wizard, pony and soul has a vote to expand our universe.
Where the, the mission statement [00:19:00] of what we are doing as a council is to empower cult members with the opportunity, the resources, and the inspiration to nurture their inner wizards in order to set up and operate our dao. There's a group of us who Jonah just introduced that have keys to a Multisig wallet called the Forgotten Council, which.
Has control in the ability to transfer eth. Now, the main responsibilities that we see for ourselves is to act as representatives for the univer, for the universe to enrich and nurture our cult and to really act as a liaison between the community and magic machine. So when Do's talking about an elph is talking about.
The myriad of projects and these big projects that they're working on, um, we're looking at how we can augment a lot of the stuff that they're working on and also get, uh, resources in the hands of cult members in order to continue to contribute to world building. Our aim is to publish weekly, weekly meeting notes on anything that we discuss.
And as I mentioned, there's this chat channel. Our plan is to execute actions on behalf of the community for spending below two E [00:20:00] and for anything larger. The council will put forth proposals to be voted on by the house. It's the council's job to listen to the community on which proposals get put forth.
It's kind of a balancing act because we don't want voter fatigue. But we want to ensure that there's fair representation of everything that is being discussed. Um, so we are the forgotten council. However, there are several minister ministries. The ministries essentially act as sub das and the functions will include.
Things such as commissioning, art lore, hosting in real life events, supporting developers. We're starting out with the Ministry of Art because we think that's the most critical and we want to roll that out right away. It currently has three members of the Forgotten Council as signers on a two four Multisig.
So there's one member currently in the Ministry of Art that's not part of the Forgotten Council. We're going to be opening this up to more members of the community and rotating out people from the council. We just. Did it this way to get it out quickly and to, uh, to start moving forward with the, um, [00:21:00] deployment.
Uh, in the future we have more ministries. We're thinking development, uh, meet space for, in real life events, merchandise, billboards, et cetera. A ministry of lore for larger story arcs. Ministry of Performing Arts. If anyone wants to, I don't know, do a wizard interpretive dance performance or something, um, but again, please, we're open to any ideas that anybody has.
Eventually, this group will also moderate the book of lore, strike lore from the book, and add new tokens to the book. So most importantly right now is there's going to be two snapshot votes to look out for in the coming few days. There's just an operational thing on our side and, and you should see it out in announcements.
The first is regarding a transfer of 28th for art and lore commissions for members of the community. If past wizards will get a chance to propose different works of art to be spent by April 15th. So we're giving it basically a month that we want to spend the 28th or. Put the 20 ETH in the hands of community members to spend on lore.
The second is to transfer 10 ETH for us to hire a [00:22:00] community Dow scribe for the next six months. So this is a position, a paid position that's open to all cult members and non cult members that have an affinity for wizards. I see in chat from time to time people talking about how they are keen to own a wizard.
I mean, ideally we could employ somebody that is keen to own a wizard. They join the Dow and uh, They're able to purchase their own wizard in, in a short amount of time. The, the role of the Dow scribe is really to help us be as transparent as possible and continue to build trust with the community, be as communicative as possible.
So we're trying to bring someone in to help with communication, managing the chat channels, building the, building out the feedback loop, and, uh, balancing and publishing the accounting ledger, publishing, meeting notes from the committee meetings, et cetera. Um, snapshot voting. You can look in the notion doc to see more about what is a snapshot vote, but essentially it's a gas list voting portal where users can sign votes according to programmable strategies.
So I did see when I woke up this morning, a few comments regarding [00:23:00] voting allocation. Um, there is a, um, A voting allocation where wizards get two votes, ponies four votes, and souls eight votes. There are two unreleased collections, which I think we might end up touching on Warriors, which everyone here knows about, which will have one vote, and then beasts, which will be allocated 50 votes.
And I'm sure this is gonna come up in q and a, um, so we can address it there. That is all I have now, so maybe we do open it up for q and a and get some of the other members of the council to, uh, to chime in and
Elf: speak.
Dotta: I just wanna express my gratitude to you and to everyone who's agreed to be on the council.
Like one of the things that, like I was kind of worried as we were putting this up is it's like, it's one of those things that sort of sounds. Prestigious, but in reality is a ridiculous amount of work. Like writing out these documentation took this group of people like hours of work and like meetings and like everyone here is busy and just volunteering their time for the good of the community.
So [00:24:00] I just want to take a moment and express my appreciation to you guys for just like serving
Elf: in this role. Yeah. I, I don't wanna filibuster cause I want you guys to talk, but I just wanna quickly say, first of all, I was aware of like 1% of this. Activity. Everything Slick Chick just said is totally new information to me and my mind is blown.
And I, I love that I didn't know about this because this is how you scale fast. Like me and Dota and Bear are just three people. Even if we work 14 hours a day, which we do, uh, we, we can't do the amount of work that nine other people can also add to this. So, Holy health. Thank you so much. Keep going.
That's all I have to say.
Sharon: And I have to say one thing with regards to this is like the power of the group and then the power of the, uh, the feedback loop with the community because I, I mean, we, we created the documents and I think we probably went through like 15 edits in the past 24 hours to just ensure that we were, um, communicating [00:25:00] things.
Uh, in a representative fashion and, and appropriately so. It, it's been fun to work on. It's definitely bigger than the initial commitment that I thought, but, uh, but it's fun. It's a learning process.
Elf: So
Dotta: that's an interesting point there that you'll continue to learn along this path that the like. The commitment required is more than expected and a lot more ends up being more laborious than anticipated.
And so something that I would recommend for the council to to think about really early on is how people who are spending. You know, part or full-time, um, of part or full of their, of their time dedicated to this project should just be remunerated part properly for that. The biggest problem yeah, that we see with DAOs across all DAOs is this tragedy of the commons [00:26:00] where, you know, no one's really getting paid so you can't really like request that there be execution that's professionalized and um, You know, and thoughtful and and dedicated.
And then it just becomes this kind of like hot potato mess. And to the extent that you've got great people in the, in the community who, you know are looking for, uh, or, or like willing to do this as a part-timer, full-time job, they should be remunerated, commensurate with. What they would make otherwise and like pay a real salary and you know, and have some upside and put an incentive package together that doesn't make this into a slog too quickly because that is the number one problem that I've observed across thousands.
The first one, and we're, you know, we're in a lot of dows and it keeps coming up over and over again, and I think it's an avoidable, [00:27:00] um, issue. You just gotta get serious about, you know, people need to be paid for their time. Um
Elf: Right. And so I Yeah, totally agree. Yep, totally agree. Yep. Yes. Pay yourselves please.
Dotta: Bye. Can I jump? What's up? Ba bam. Hi. Bam. Bam.
Cult Member: Hi. Um, I just wanted to say just on, um, the, the first proposal for the art thing, um, so yeah, just as we're trying to learn and stuff like that, one reason, well, one of the reasons we wanted to. You know, to be honest with you, it would've been great for us to like have more things figured out and all this stuff before we get in front of you guys.
But I think we really wanted to, with all of this money that came in and all of this talk about the Dow for a while, we wanted to just like get it going. And part of the thing with the art, um, the art proposal is that we kind of just wanna like gauge like, okay, we went live, how much do we really wanna spend?
Like, [00:28:00] so that we can sort of figure out. Okay. We don't want anyone to get voter fatigue. So if we know this is around how much people want to spend or how much appetite we have for it, I'm sure it'll vary. But that'll kind of give us a way to assess sort of like, okay, we know we're gonna have, uh, art, ministry of art, right?
How much are they gonna wanna spend over a quarter or something like that so that we're not constantly having you guys have to vote on stuff, cuz we want you guys to be totally involved. And then the other reason we wanted to move forward without. Fleshing everything out yet is because, you know, like what Ryan just said, and I'm sure so many of you guys have experience in DAOs that we could learn from, that we can sort of like structure this thing together because we don't have all the answers.
We don't wanna do what everyone else does. We need to find our own way. And that's just gonna take a little bit of time. Um, so I just wanted to. Sort of call that out and otherwise I'm super duper excited, right? To be here for you guys. And then I think the other thing is many of you guys are probably gonna wanna [00:29:00] know, like how you can get involved.
And right now, I think the best way is to get involved in, uh, in the, uh, in the channel that was created for the house. Um, and. We will be reading in there and we will be sort of like gleaning agenda items from there as well as your feedback and things like that. So w and we'll also be publishing those notes from our meetings and things like that too, so that you guys can always stay up to date, uh, as mu and as much involvement as you wanna have.
Dotta: Absolutely. Yeah. And I'm super thankful for the group with how quickly we were able to move to get the docs that we have together. But yeah, there's a lot of things that we're still figuring out, you know? Um, but I think that one of the things that we want to be able to do fairly early on is, uh, like, have the Dao help people who want to have art commissions made.
And so we'll put together sort of, um, forms and, uh, like instructions for if you, for example, want, you know, Uh, to get commissions made and have the Dao help pay for it or pay for it. Um, we'll give you some instructions for [00:30:00] that. Mado. Jsk, did you all want to add anything? Uh, I was just gonna briefly say that, um, that, yeah, for check transparency, ba uh, got it.
That essentially, um, you know, we, we maybe like had like another, I wanna say maybe like another week or two before we really wanted to present this, but it turns out that, you know, we had all the money. That we got in from the Wizard Babies and we figured, you know, it's better that we build this all together and, um, really excited for what we have, uh, coming forward.
Like I, I, I think I mentioned this briefly in the Discord, but I think this is the first. Time that we kind of officially talked about, like the, um, the Beast Project, even if it's just like, kind of just like saying that, that it's there. And um, I think we've been talking about that a little bit in within like the, within the DAO discussion cuz we're kind of been like, um, you know, formulating our voting structure around it.
But, um, you know, that's just like one of the things that we have floating around as an idea for how we can continue to, you know, [00:31:00] expand the Dow and, and give it the resources that it needs to. Um, you know, make wizards into a truly decentralized IP that can, that can scale greater than just what match machine can make it.
And, um, you know, just really happy for having this, you know, starting rolling even if, you know, we're, have a little bit more structure that we have to create with it. But I'm really excited to help create that structure with quality of you guys, with the community together and what we have looking forward.
Yeah, let me talk a little bit about what our plans for the revenue for the council. So, you know, I guess we can call it the Dow. The Dow. Um, so the one is, you know, of course babies generated a huge amount. Um, the other thing that we've talked a lot about is, uh, beast. So let's, let me talk Beast, just real briefly.
So the idea with Beast is that we. Um, plan to create a collection of beasts of the universe. And, um, the idea that we're thinking about here is that this is, um, a collection [00:32:00] within the lore developed by Magic Machine and, you know, painted by Elf. Um, and then how. Does this revenue get split across, uh, between Magic Machine and the Dow?
Um, across how many tokens are there, the supply, all these things. I think it's all still tb d Um, some of the money will go to the Dow. Some of the money, um, over the set of the collection will probably go to Magic Machine. So Beast. So I'm, I think I'm gonna keep it ambiguous at that level. The anticipated drop of this is not so much that it's like, um, a one, like an airdrop to holders, but rather something more along the lines of something like nouns dow, where they are probably auctioned.
Um, and so we're envisioning this collection to be relatively limited in terms of, um, you know, uh, I think that, like, I, I, I don't, I, I hesitate to give a firm number. But it's on order of like hundreds of tokens and probably much fewer in the beginning. Um, like hundreds of tokens, [00:33:00] total supply, but really like much smaller for the near future, like dozens in the near future.
So, um, we don't have a hard date for that, but that would be one of the ways that we would generate revenue for the council.
Elf: Um, yeah, I just wanna just quickly add to that. People have been asking about the gate to the seventh realm. A comment we made many months ago. The beasts are connected to the gate.
Um, that's what the gate comment was about. So, uh, yeah, there's a little bit more lore that'll be fleshed out even more as time goes on. Yeah,
Dotta: no. Um, oh, sorry, David. Yeah, I just wanna jump in. I think you guys can hear me right? My phone's acting up a little bit, but it's coming through. Yeah, we got you. Yep.
Cool. Uh, I just wanted to say that I'm super excited for everything we're doing with this, uh, from day one. I mean, I've talked to El Dota in a lot of dms about like what this world can be and what I think it, like all the community is, and I think it's kind of the next step. And I even posted went on saying about how, I think a lot about how Elf always says, speak your truth.
And I think this is one of the [00:34:00] next steps into that process. To help the community and everybody kind of grow what we want this to become. And I, I really just hope that we can do best by the community day by day and beyond. Excited to work with everybody here, um, and see what all the creatives come out and make.
Just wanted to add that. Love y'all.
Elf: Thanks. We love you, jy. Yeah.
Dotta: Hey, man, I saw you came up on stage. Did you want to add anything? Uh, yep.
Elf: Yep. Can you hear me?
Dotta: Yes. Yes. Perfect. Uh, yeah. Hi everyone. Uh, yeah, I, I just wanted to add that, um, I, I saw some people asking how they get, uh, how they can get in involved.
Um, and like of course, since we, we are planning all of these different ministries, all of those will need people to be both on the multisig, um, but also just active in, in helping out a bit on the day-to-day. Um, so like probably the, the ministry of Development, maybe one of the first ones that we are looking to launch soon.
Uh, so like if [00:35:00] anyone is interested then in like, helping on that, um, or, or like has ideas that, that will require funding on the development side or like smart contracts that need to be deployed and, and cost gas and so on. Um, just feel free to, to reach out to myself or to any of the other members. Um, so, so we can get started on that
Elf: as well.
Dotta: Um, and on the Ministry of Art, so the, the, the, the, the folks who are currently on the signers, there are myself. Retired Yield Farmer, mat Suzuki and Chuck K. Um, so Chuck actually isn't on the forgotten council signer, but he is on the Ministry of Art and because, you know, Chuck just kind of came up really early on as someone that we were like, oh, he, we for sure want him to be involved in helping spend.
Money, um, like appropriately for community art because he's done such a great job of like contributing, um, you know, Japanese translations to the blog post every time I post one, um, at making connections with artists to get [00:36:00] commissions made. And so just like right off, right off top of our head, we were like, oh, we want Chuck to be involved.
And so, you know, I think one of the, one of the challenges actually with getting. You know, I think the, the council is more than just like day-to-day single frame art commissions. But I do think that there is a certain, like bread and butter there. But one of the challenges there is actually finding and organizing artists, right?
This process of like finding an artist who likes NFTs, giving them a concept, um, revising the drafts, paying them, that's like an operational challenge. And so, um, you know, Chuck and the other three, uh, including myself on that, on that. Art Dow will basically be managing that process in the beginning. Um, and so, yeah, if you know artists that want to do, um, commissions, we're actually trying to put together a database of all the artists, um, and the commissions and sort of like rough costs.
And so that way we can kind of streamline that process. You probably also noticed, I might have talked about this a couple weeks ago, we also created the Cult Commission channel. The idea there too is that we're able to invite our artists to wanna [00:37:00] do commissions and make it super easy for, um, Like for them to get work from commissions, from wizard holders and for wizard holders to have a really easy path of communication back to them.
So yeah, if you know artists who do commissions, please give those to us. Uh, the names and the contact information. Even invite them to Discord, um, and then we can like get them more work. Uh,
Cult Member: can I just say one more thing? Um, you can say a lot more. So, so, uh, the link that Dota shared before that is a great blog post and like a summary.
But if you guys scroll all the way to the bottom, then you can go to the rest of the, um, the notion which has a little bit more detail and that that's where we'll be sort of fleshing out everything. Um, and then in terms of like the snapshot, I know you guys can see the proposals there, but it's gonna take us a little second to like, Get our shit together with them with snapshot.
So as soon as that's up, those proposals that we're looking at right now will likely take, uh, place over 48 hours. So just [00:38:00] be on the lookout for that. We'll let you know what's going on. Um, and then finally, just because this took me a second to grab my head around, I just wanted to say, since we have like special cute wizard names for everything, wanted to say the House of Wizards is the name of the Dow.
The ministries like Ministry of Art is the sub das, and then the forgotten council is your council members who will be, you know, your
Dotta: liaisons. So when the snapshot voting comes, we'll do an announcement in, um, the discord and you should vote, it's gas free, but there's a cryptographic record of your participation, so you should vote.
When we put out those snapshots. Um, so one of the other things that I wanna talk about, following up on that funding conversation. So we talked about, you know, donations, I guess from baby Wizards, and similar we talked about, um, N F T auctions through beasts, but there's actually a secondarily a secondary like, um, N F T auction that may happen.[00:39:00]
So you could imagine, uh, an example where, um, maybe the council decides to. Um, commission artists to create one of ones that it also auctions off. These might not be like, um, you know, let's say, forgive me, phrasing this word, the official like magic. Machine issued like beasts set, but like, but other artworks that are like significant that we wanna auction off that also have kind of the same degree of voting rights.
This sort of like 50 vote voting rights. So the, the, the council could make money that way. Um, we already have the Wizard Marketplace up written by tv of course. And that when you, when you transact in the Wizard marketplace, Some of that money comes back to the dao. Um, and then also in the future we're thinking in terms of IP rights and royalties, right?
So in kind of the commercial rights, um, structure that we have. You can commercialize your wizard. Uh, and then like after $5 million, there's [00:40:00] some royalty that needs to come back. No one has actually hit that number yet, but we are very bullish that someone will in the future. And the idea is that this council will be kind of the endpoint, the recipient of those sort of like significant IP royalties.
So, you know, the council has about 500 K right now, which we're already looking to spend on the community, but we can envision that being like, Much, much more in the future. I'm so excited for this whole entire project. This is, it's so great to have the ethos of, of, of the whole Wizard community, like woven seamlessly into what the Dallas and, and so I, I also wanna thank Donna for helping spearhead this and know that everybody else on the council is putting in time.
So, so thank you. It's, it's great to see it moving, um, in, in, in getting started. It's just, it, it, it makes my heart warm.
Elf: Very cool. Yeah. You know, I remember when Dota was talking about the, the Dow a few months ago, and I kept saying, no, it's way too soon to do [00:41:00] that. And now that it's done well, now that it's started, um, I'm realizing, wow, we should have done this a long time ago.
So,
Dotta: no, I was gonna say timing wise, I think we're going, I think we're, we're getting on pretty well. I think that, um, We could have done it earlier, but I think, um, doing it now gives us a lot of structure to, to work. Like I think we've, we've built up the, the call enough that, you know, we are able to like, like, um, come up with ideas for like, you know, who should be on the ministries and such like that, um, from the get go, a bit easier than if we did a bit earlier.
Um, I think the calls, the calls, call's old enough that we've very, it's mature enough that we've seen, um, We've seen the kind of, of, of, um, uh, demand that, uh, that the cult has within. So I think that the art ministry, that's why we went with that first, I think does, um, creatively, a lot of the cult just has so many good, um, artists that they commission and such, and art that comes from the cult that I think that, that that's like great priority to start off that people would love.
I don't know if we would've [00:42:00] had as much information about that if we did this
Elf: earlier. You're absolutely right. You're absolutely right. You convinced me. Yeah. No, it, I think the timing is actually perfect. Um, so yeah. Speaking of cult art, are we ready to do a few cult content shoutouts or, oh yeah. I love
Dotta: that.
I shared some in the space.
Elf: Awesome. Yeah. And again guys, I, I love the Dow and I can't wait to hear more about it. I'm sure you're, we're gonna hear a lot more from you on Wizard Wednesdays going forward. Um, but yeah, speaking of, uh, cult content, or as I saw Magus was ear call at once. Cult tin. Um, Ooh. So yeah, always Magus was here.
Um, so yeah, I've, oh, it's so much good stuff. So let me just, let me just run through it. Um, so Brandon b dot eth, uh, I believe he is a, uh, It's, it's him and his wife. I think I, I think they're married. It's a husband and wife Wizard duo. Um, they recently posted a Malti and Larissa, uh, piece of artwork by someone [00:43:00] named Chris Musto.
Um, and then, uh, rare Labs has been doing a bunch of amazing stuff. Um, they did a vampire one recently and then, uh, they did one for Realize Origin. Uh oh
Dotta: yeah, which was the key list.
Elf: No, I think it, I think it had a, um, a wolf, um, and, and, uh, a well it had Toro, the video ghost in it, which is the first Oh
Dotta: yeah.
Loved it. Love that
Elf: one. Love that one. Yeah, it's so good. I love Toro, the video ghost. Um, yeah, it's so good. So Rare Labs has just been amazing. Um, and then Bear Snake, you posted two amazing things. Uh, the, one of the wizard, uh, in the bedroom playing video games or, or as I like to say, interfacing with meta space.
Uh, and then the one, the one where, um, it's the, that, that badass wizard in the woods. Um,
Dotta: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was, uh, I was [00:44:00] busy. I was, I was, I've been working on, on this for a while and let me just say, um, uh, I wanted to thank Slick Chick for letting me borrow her wizard because, um, that is in fact her wizard
Elf: and her pony.
Oh, okay. I didn't know that. Awesome. Yeah. Very cool. Um, yeah, this is great stuff. Um, okay. And then another speak and then, okay. Speaking of forgotten wizards, baby Wizard, baby's orphanage. Um, I think one of the best things I've seen come out of this is, uh, the resurrection of the meme don't talk to me or my son ever again.
Um, that meme is like a few years old, but it's one of my favorites ever and I've been seeing it posted again with the babies, so that's been great. Uh, and then, uh, Moran's Art has posted a 3D version of the Wizard Goof, uh, with the infamous Hummingbird Doom wing. Um, I have sorely missed doom wing. I have not seen him in a while, and I [00:45:00] just love that an Elra tour has been paired with a hummingbird.
Um, you know, that's thanks to the generator because no sane human would've made that choice. Uh, the generator, as I've always said, is part of the team and she makes extremely creative decisions at times. And then, uh, JD McNamara had posted, um, just a beautiful illustration of illusionist, peppy. Um, I think the person who made that was Madura Designs.
Uh, Magus. Diggory has been doing a lot of really fun scenes with, uh, wizards in, in, um, just various environments. Oz made an amazing, um, uh, illustration of all the wizards at ETH Denver. I don't think I gave that a proper shout out last week, but again, Oz with the great group shots, they're some of my favorite.
Um, and then, uh, Blanco Moko Post a few weeks ago did this amazing one of, of a cat wizard, um, sourcer or Harley of the veil. That one was stunning. I, [00:46:00]
Dotta: I fell outta my chair. I like set that as my desktop for
Elf: like the whole day. Yeah. Yeah. So good. So good. I'm telling you, the Colton is off, off the chain, off the blockchain.
Yeah. Uh, two crows. Hello? Uh, has been amazing. Just, just. Pouring out some awesome stuff. Yeah. Uh, just illustration after illustration, work after work. There's so many that two Crows has done. I, I can't even go over 'em all. Um, but Two Crows has been an excellent addition to the cult. Uh, and then May Okay.
And then the Forgotten Baby's Cult. Um, they, they had like an art contest and one of the standouts for me, Was, uh, Ile Elk. Elk did this amazing diorama. I think it's like the first wizard diorama I've seen. So that, that was just gorgeous. Um, Artis of the Rock did a great illustration, and then I think she also did some cosplay.
Um, I don't think we retweeted that, but I saw her. Dressed up as her wizard. Um, I think there's still some [00:47:00] confusion whether artists of the rock is actually Magus Luer, uh, we still don't know. And then Tad Major has been doing some awesome things. Uh, he did like a three-part story with 10 K TF with the 10 K TF shop.
Um, okay. And then Tim Smith, an amazing Billy's gonna get ya illustration by an artist from Cuphead, uh, Tina Narai. Um, Cuphead is one of the greatest things to come out in the past, like 10 years. And so he got an amazing artist from that project to do a, Billy's gonna get illustration. Castamere XB did a, uh, an amazing monga style Nosferatu comic.
I think it's, that's a work in progress. Um, Jose Conza and Kiara moi with, uh, a CG model of my goat that I'm just now getting around to acknowledging. This was done like a week or two ago, and it's like the greatest thing ever. Yeah. I'm so late to acknowledging it, but it's freaking fantastic. And I think that's about it.
Uh, Tabitha of the Marsh did a [00:48:00] great little green hoodie, uh, with Laura is at the core on it. Um, I don't know, I feel like I'm missing a lot, but you, I know
Dotta: if we miss it, just DM me and we'll get it next week. Sorry, there's just so much every week, which is amazing, but we wanna share it all cuz it's so
Elf: good.
Yeah. Yeah. You guys are, you guys are blowing me away. Oh.
Dotta: Can I just, can I just one quick Yeah, go for it. Night Owl has started. I'm not sure if you guys have seen this night, WL has started these, these uh, cards, these digital cards that are turning with wizards in them. Have you seen that? Oh yeah. Yes, I have.
Yep. Yep. I absolutely love those so much. Uh, and Night, Al, I think you're here. I'd love to. I know we're gonna talk more, but I think there's some more stuff to dive in on the, on the, on the, and Dr. Popov is working on, I think, the Dice game. Oh, I think that looks so cool. Yeah. Yeah. You're up here on stage.
Hi. How's it going? Hey, what's up?
Elf: Hey, hey. Yeah, we need some, uh, some play testers to, to get this going. Um, and how we've [00:49:00] set up the game. Um, I,
Dotta: I call it like a PVP yasi,
Elf: uh, with a theme around foregone ruins. Um, so there's lots of, you know, like luck involved. Uh, but that's what you need to do if you wanna involve, um, lots of people that are not used to board games and don't want to go in.
Dotta: Like in depth with a strategy. Uh, and also if you wanted your kids to, to play
Elf: as well, I feel like that's the best, um, method to
Dotta: go. Uh, but I'm sure once you guys like, uh, printed out, uh, the play testers, you'll, you'll have lots of fun. So
Elf: we're looking for some, you know, feedback, but also statistics
Dotta: on the game, just to make sure that there's no characters that are too, like, uh, overpowered.
Dr. Pop, can you send me the test? I and I Yeah, sure. I can send it to you. I think we have Laura today from Dustin, um, with, uh, Alchemist phase of the Hills and also Hern. So if you guys wanna, uh, request to come up, we can have you up here when it's time, which is soon.
Elf: Yep, yep. If [00:50:00] you have Laura scheduled, just uh, put it in a request.
Um, yeah, you know what, and, and real quick, another shout out I should give is Bonzo just keeps putting out, uh, great content on his YouTube channel and. If you guys haven't seen yet, bear Snake, our very own Bear Snake did an interview with Bonzo. Um, love
Dotta: Bonzo. It was so much fun. He's a fantastic human.
Love the show.
Elf: Yep. Agree. Uh, I Okay. A anonymity. Is that, is it, are you our Laura reader for the uh, yeah. Excellent. I'm,
Dotta: uh, waffle talk dot, I'm the Discord server. Okay. Let's see how this goes. Uh, I'm reading the lore for one of my wizzies, which is Alchemist Faiz of the Hills Number 75 23. Okay. Alchemist, SPS of the Hills, A Call to action and what an unexpected reaction.
Perhaps Bezo can scrounge up some more. Oh, huh. These aren't my [00:51:00] notes. Uh, what am I doing again? I knew this mind Scribe was a bad idea. Right. Advertisement. Hello, mystic Travelers and connoisseurs of the Arcane Faiz is my name, and alchemy is Myer Pursuit as the distinguished winner of the Arana Alchemy Awards AAA for the for one year running.
I think I'm allowed to talk about that. It is my destiny to voyage along the explorer's edge of alchemic research like a cartographer discovering new lands. I am mapping historic discoveries on the aged and tattered maps of our perceptions. But, uh, I'm not actually traveling. Oh, no. That would take time from my explorations.
You see, when I cannot explore and explore at the same time, that is where I need you. That's right. You can contribute to the evolution of ancient wisdoms. So ye bold traveler. If you happen to co so come across materials in your journey, please bring them to my studio in the hills. Usually my familiar bezo does an excellent job of, um, [00:52:00] procuring my materials, but my trans mutations become more extravagant, so too must be the properties of which they are derived, such as the nature of nature.
After all, specifically, if anyone has any of the falling, it would be extremely helpful. Phlegm from the esophagus of a Celestial Drake, salt of Tatar from the base of the Great Owl Aunque, uh, anything from moon and all purpose flapper. Please don't make this award-winning. Alchemist take precious moments away from his explorations to travel to far away lands, please.
Okay, mind scribe, close astral projection mind scribe close astral project. And that's the lore. Oh,
Elf: I, I love that you guys are experimenting with the format of, of the lore readings. You, you, you totally took on the identity of your wizard and played him. And, uh, it's, it's great. You, you worked in the mind scribe. Um, very creative. I, I, I love it. I have
Cult Member: a [00:53:00] comment. So, great. Last Saturday we actually did go forth with the law reading workshop, um, and we learned so much.
I almost wish I had recorded it. That's was totally not in the contract. So, you know, we didn't, but I think, um, the people that were there, there were about nine of us. I think we found it to be really helpful. Um, and so if this is the type of thing that we wanna do in the future, let's definitely like talk about it.
So let me know guys.
Elf: Bam. Bam. You are so good at reading Laura.
Cult Member: This is like next level shit. We learned some shit.
Elf: Yeah. You know what, actually, I, I have something I want to add. So, um, Molly, our, uh, YouTube video Storyboarder, um, she, she just finished her third, um, bam. It's actually bam, bam. Did the narration.
I can't remember the wizard's name, but we do have a problem. We don't know who wrote this lore and we want to give them credit. [00:54:00] Yeah, well we, we know the address.
Dotta: We know the
Elf: address. I, I'll get, we know the address and then we know the name of the wizard.
Dotta: Hold on, let me see if I can find it. Well, we, it's
Elf: Soran of the Psychic Leap.
Yes, that's it. Soran of the Psychic Leap. Yes, if you own Soan of the Psychic Leap, I think the lore is about, um, a wizard that talks too much. So if you wrote that story, DM us cuz we want to credit you for the for the next YouTube video upload. Okay. And I believe that's about it. Doda Bear. Ick. Anything else?
Lochness?
Dotta: I think I'm good. I don't see any hands. Yeah. All right. Uh, let's conclude.
Elf: Sounds good. Well, thank you for coming everybody. This has been Elto Matsui Ji Bam Bam, bear Snake Meth. Dr. Pavlovsky Lochness, an Arch Omega Merlin, and the entire Forgotten Rooms Council [00:55:00] channeling out. From the quantum downs, bye in everybody.
