It was time to fight again. Azazel was ecstatic. The caliber and fighting skills of the participants had by far exceeded his wildest dreams. It was time to find out who would become the very first BlackSand Tournament Semi-finalist.

On one side of the arena was Qamar Combatant the Rune Riders with his Firebrand. His first duel had been a master class in fighting skills and patience.

On the other side was Chaos Mage Miyo of the Woods, magic flames burning around her fists. Her first duel had been a shining example of what Fire magic was capable of.

The crowd in attendance on the wooden bleachers was jubilant. Fan groups had started to emerge in the city, with people chanting for their champion. “Qamar! Qamar the flame fighters!” they chanted. “Miyo! Miyo the fire master.”

“Let the duel commence!” Azazel shouted and the crowd exploded in even louder roars.

Qamar sprinted forward. “He needs to be close to his opponent and avoid getting hit by her magic from the distance.”  Archmagus Crowley commented.

Miyo smiled and charged forward as well. Looking for a close fight. “I was expecting that after her first duel. She likes to get her hands dirty.” Azazel observed.

Qamar tried a first hit. He lifted his sword high and slammed it down as Miyo approached. Miyo quickly pivoted and lunged to her right, swiftly and fully avoiding the attack.

“Ah well done Miyo, I see our training helped” Samuel Dueler of Flowers noted. He was the new Fighting Trainer the Council had hired. Azazel nodded in appreciation and added: “Training bears its fruits I see.” Battle Mage Hothor gave a thumbs up in approval too.

Qamar then jumped to his left to try another attack. But Miyo suddenly turned: “Salamander’s Tongue” she yelled. A giant fireball bursted from her hands and hit Qamar right in his chest, throwing him to the ground.

The crowd exploded in cheers! “Miyo, Miyo, Miyo!”

That was an incredibly hard hit, but Qamar stood up quickly. He charged again, this time holding his flaming sword only with his right hand.

Miyo moved to prepare for the hit. Suddenly Qamar changed his stance and instead of going for a direct hit with his sword, he threw a strong left punch hitting Miyo right on her face!

In shock Miyo lost balance. Quickly Qamar followed by hitting Miyo again with his left elbow, throwing her to the ground.

The crowd roared!

With Miyo on the ground, Qamar could deliver the final hit. He swung his sword down aiming at the opponent’s back.

“Ah it’s over for Miyo…” Crowley started but…

Miyo yelled loudly and a massive wave of fire erupted from her body overwhelming Qamar. He was literally on fire.

The crowed went silent as Qamar started screaming, defenseless against the flame.

“Someone help him!” Azazel ordered “The fight is over, Miyo wins!” He announced as a group of five Attendants hurried to stop the fire that was consuming Qamar.

“What was that!?” “What happened?!” Someone from the crowd started asking in shock and confusion. Everything had happened so fast.

“Oh dear…” Azezel quietly said, almost in answer to those questions “that is !magic.”

Qamar Combatant the Rune Raiders (11169)

Chaos Mage Miyo of the Wood (8711)
