The Sand
A vast and seemingly endless desert along the equatorial Runiverse, the Sand stretches to the ends of time. Wandering this expanse is a terrifying, humbling, and transcendent experience that distorts all perception. Dry, barren, and dizzying, there is very little sign of life here. A gaze to the horizon travels an endless distance where the earth and sky blend in an undulating mirage, and one can walk for days as the shifting dunes warp time and space. Hallucination is inevitable, sometimes induced by only a few hours under the unrelenting sun. Wizards are known to wander this expanse, deliberately inviting the disorienting effects to enhance magical abilities. And if further altering of the mind is needed, the Sand offers a dizzying array of psychedelic cactuses.
The Sand is nearly impossible to chart, the landscape ebbs and flows under the dry winds, and structures and civilizations are buried in time. The only reliable waypoint that seems to be largely unaffected is Zaro's Oasis, a sanctum in the northern region.
